Shockingly I named some OCs recently and fleshed out the deity lore a bit for my "guess i'll marry the demon lord?" plot.
Solei has existed since near the start but Mehra and Valdas are new to the concept and all three? Petty. They're technically the Trio of Peace cause that's kinda their goal and duty to their world but really, Trio of Pettiness is suitable as well.
#my characters#they all have a petty dislike for reynold and reynold is blissfully unaware that mehra even exists to dislike him#most of his interactions outside of the demons are with solei#also for mehra its important to note that she really is affinity! not affection! she doesnt have any interest in love/affection#all she needs is for affinities to remain neutral at worst and positive at best#solei plays off of that by making sure the affinities between races are all the same wavelength#and that is why when sascha (the demon lord) tries to gather all the demons to keep them close and protect#she gets the wrong idea that he is gathering an army to fight since thats what the previous demon lord had done#which is why the demons got spread out a bit and sascha basically has to collect them again#valdas is all about order and balance and hes always right dont you DARE say hes wrong#his word and his thoughts are law to him and therefore should be law to all#he seems incredibly stubborn and he will be a little more forceful but if you can state your case to him#and he can logically see he is factually in the wrong ? he will not admit it out loud but he will change his ways immediately#he has a strong sense of justice its just not always the best for all (which is where solei comes in and has to help rarely)#mehra refuses to interact with the demons and reynold because while her ties to affinity for her world are important#she knows the demons dont hate the gods/goddesses and thats enough for her!#but also mehra and valdas have a natural dislike for reynold due to him not even being from their world which creates bumps#to both affinities (demons adore this one human now) and order (theres literally a human married to the demon lord which has never happened#solei doesnt like reynold and would LOVE to smack him upside the head sure but valdas is the one that would actively throw hands with him#valdas despises him so much for very petty reasons#the reason isnt listed above but thats fine im tired bye

Yandere Justice Gang thoughts (cw spoilers for superman 2025)
I think it would be a lot harder to be a regular darling in this universe, its not that you need to be extrodinary in order to catch their attention. I mean it is possible that they can go yandere from a darling they saved. But already having some sort of connection to the Justice Gang through hero work by being a superhero darling or perhaps a reporter/newsperon darling would make the most sense.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Clark Kent - Superman
clingy, overprotective, worshipper
Clark knows that this obsession for you is wrong but he can't help himself. Your just so perfect in his eyes, his star, his goddess. He thanks the heavens everyday that his birthparents sent him to earth of all places just so he can be with you, to serve you and all of your heavenly light. He believes you are the best thing that earth has to offer.
Clark wants the simple life with you, he was raised a southern boy with southern values. He watched how his father loved and took care of his mother and know that's what he wants what they have with you. Now don't worry, Clark drinks his respect woman juice so you be confined to becoming some kind of trad wife or anything.
He wold actually cry if you ever got hurt because of him being superman, like he did in that scene trapped in the pocket dimension, y'all 😭 😭 😭. His protection knows no bounds, he always has his eyes and ears on you. When he's at work or out saving the day, he's always listening in on you with his super hearing. Scanning over you with his x-rays looking for any kind of injuries or illnesses that my posess you.
Absolutly breaks into your place and watches you sleep, he just needs to know your not going to die in you sleep. Checks in on you all the time. worried to no end, are you eating properly, need sleep, your heart rate faster than normal. He knows all, lmao weirdo. This man will take care of you, its for your own good.
He is so hyperaware of his surroundings as to not break you, even if you are able to bear the crushing weight of his entire being, he would never trust himself. Your just his fragile little doll, always looking over you during fights, rushing to you even thought you can handle yourself.

Guy Gardner - Green Lantern
clingy, possesive, delusional
#Most anoying bitch on the planet. This man will not leave you alone, the ever constant voice in your ear. You've met so many people like him, he's egotistical, sarcastic, hot-tempered, and abrasive. "Come on, I know you love me babe", oh god that asshole. Your his, I mean why wouldn't you be his, he's a Green Lantern. He's hot, strong, powerful, amazing, show-stoping, ect, or at least that what he tells himself. Of course you love him.
He believes you love him like how he loves you. He's your hero, protector, your ever so passionate lover. A love that has been crafted from the burning core that wraps arounds his fingers. He may be a big flirt but capturing Guy's devotion and loyalty is suprising to everyone around him. The green light that erupts from his heart is not something that is easy to get from Guy.
Guy needs you like the astronomer needs the night sky. The admiration of you heavenly body is what keeps him in his trance. It's honestly the most quietly you'll ever see him. The approval he seeks from you is forever constant in this relationship the two of you have. Your his muse, he has created a visage for all the worlds to see. Tall spiraling green monuments after the battle has been won will surely capture you attention on him once again, he is sure of it.
The sickness that Guy feels when even entertainting the thought that you could love anyone else other than him tears him from the inside out. Guys temper is like that one balloon you refuse to inflate because you don't know when it will blow, and trust it will blow up. You where just trying to enjoy yourself , it's quiet, It's so peaceful for you, but for Guy its something else entirely. Their too close to his muse. "Did you see that babe, that one was for you", he give you a wink like he didn't just cave some poor patrons face in for flirting with you
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mr. Terrific - Michael Holt
overprotective, manipulative, obsessive
Big stalker energy, he has his eyes on you everywhere. There is no corner of this world where he cannot gaze upon you. His mind will either be you demise or your salvation. Your blood has already been tainted by him. It doesn't matter where you go, even if you blood stops pumping and you body runs cold, he always has his claws in you.
Michael has always been quite the technological marvel. Even in his youth he was leagues above his peers, but even in excellence comes tragedy. He is the one with the most fear for the sanctity of your life. He will snap at the drop of a hat considering what happened to his wife Paula (rip Girlie), his will never falters when it comes to your protection.
Your house is littered with a special security system, elerting him of your every action. You never expected you home to turn into an a fortress, or perhaps your prison. A thousand eyes gaze upon you sleeping figure, but only one pair belong to him. You look of beautiful like this he thinks, he vows that with his mind, body, and soul that beauty should never be taken from you.
Your silent protector, for the longest time you wouldn't really know he was so yandere for you. Michael is not asking for much, he just wants to be in your presence. Affection has never really been his thing, but he is content with just being there in the moment with you.
When he takes you he's so condescending about it. He uses logic to talk you down as to why this is the right choice. "Don't you see. I can't loose you, I have all the rescorces in the world right here to protect you.". Don't run, you won't make it anywhere, your attempts are futile. Don't you see, he is the only one who can protect you, no one can do it like he can. So just sit back and relax, because your not going anywhere darling.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kendra Sanders - Hawkgirl
laid-back, impulsive
She is such a bad bitch I swear. Kendra is a nonchalant yandere on the outside but uses that to her advantage to get you to want to trust her. The laid-back attitude and sarcastic witty remarks are what draw you in. Wings of deception, wrapping around you lulling you into that false sense of security.
The only thing that gets her is her impulsiveness. Those protective walls that she has built up for you start to crack and crumble. The screech that roars from her heart, starts to shatter your perception. There is this unsettling feeling rising in the back of your throat. She has a bit of a temper, you know that, but this is different.
" I just wanted to protect you, I coundn't stand to see you get hurt.", she says, voice ragged and dripping with venom. You didn't know she cared that much, her eyes are always on you, but you are all the more oblivious to how deeply she feels until now. Their is blood on her hands, only you don't know this isn't the first time she has had her prey hunted down.
Kendra's grip on you is tight as she flys you through the air. She'd never drop you, how could you ever think such a thing, she thinks your ridiculous. The energy has shifted between yout two over the past few weeks. She pretends like nothing is wrong but your weirdly on edge. "Stop worrying so much", she tells you it's not such a big deal and that things should go back to normal.
Your her prey now, claws locked into your skin. It hurts sometimes but she doens't mean to, she tries to be gentle with you. But sometimes you get cautght in the crossfire of her next hunt. They shouldn't have hurt you, and you should have stayed out of the way. But don't worry she will make it right.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rex Mason - Metamorpho
impulsive, overprotective, worshipper
Ugh, my poor sweet Rex, he has such a rought deal. He already feels like a monster after what Lex did to him, he needs your reassurence. "I don't deserve you", he tells you, tells himself really. What your presence in his life has done for him he can never repay. Your like the sun that has been sent after the storm, a light he didn't know he needed.
He is so careful with you. Fear and anxiety consume is head, that nagging voice telling him he is going to mess it up again. His body is rough and jagged, surely you do not love him, look at him. But somehow your different, the sun has casted down on him and now he can't look back. So he will walk the path, just to chase the feeling you give him.
His power is something dangerous, being able to create any element is surreal. "shh, sorry, I'm sorry ... just.. shit", acid leaking from his arms and legs as "defends" your honor. He didn't mean for it to happen, the room is spinning, singed bubbling bodies and bile litter the floor. He hopes you can forgive him, but they just wouldn't just stop saying all those bad things about you. He just lost control that's all.
Rex loves collecting little trinkest of you. His shrine extensive, collections of moments that the two of you have shared. He cherishes it all, every glance, touch, and gift of you love you may bestow onto him. You never noticed the little useless things you leave behind, and Rex is greatful he gets to scavenge the remnance of you belongings.
He vows to never let you end up like he did. Him being kidnapped and forced to be someone else's weapon changed him for better and for worse. But he can be a hero now, your hero. As long as he is their, no one will lay a hand on the pretty head of yours

Brief explanation on my interpretation of these guys
Cait; an animal, when cornered, begins to roar. It puffs itself up, feathers and fur raised, teeth bared. An animal with its claws out is an animal afraid. Cait does not want to hurt—but she doesn't want to be hurt. A victor is not a victim—a predator, not prey. She had it beaten into her, and beat it into herself so she'd never forget. The claws are always out, teeth always bared, eyes always flicking across the room. But once she starts recovery, she's free to be herself. Cait slows down. She sleeps in when she feels like it. She eats when she has an appetite. She takes the time to bathe, to brush her hair and teeth. Once the loudest, brightest burning fire in the room, she mellows into a match—the potential of explosion is there, but for now, she's only a little light. Her eyes are no less sharp, but Cait only wants to be left with her friends, and enjoy the peace and quiet she can steal away for them. Her ambitions are small and unimpressive, and she appears more like a cat lazing in a sunbeam than any pit dog.
Curie; well meaning, and sweet, but too smart for her own good and she knows and acts like it. She wants the best for you, but she thinks she knows what that is. Sometimes she does, but Curie often forgets that people are more complicated than the biology that comprises them. Curie is bubbly, and social, but struggles with the idea that her perception of things is just that—her perception. It could be a result of her coding, her nature as a preprogrammed robot with set realities, or it could be a sign of her humanity. It's the critical flaw every human has, after all. Her sense of justice is too strong for her body. Her grief is too strong for her body. She examines each sensation—anger is in her cheeks and chest. Joy is a lightness in her head. Sorrow is a bitter lump in her throat, and cold hands. She wants to help everyone and everything. She knows she can't. She will try, anyway, and no one needs to know if it hurts. There is no other fate for someone so kind.
Danse; He once called the thing in his chest Wrath. Righteous connotations, implied justification and the promise of vengeance. Whatever brought this Wrath will meet it. The Wrath was provoked, summoned, and therefore, the summoner is the hand of their own undoing. Danse doesn't think about how this frees him of accountability. What he does is not his fault. The blood is not on his hands. He's a tool of Wrath—not one man of thousands, free to choose for himself. Danse doesn't respect himself enough to believe in his own judgement. He finds himself a stumbling fool, soft in the heart, fragile outside of his armor. Gentleness comes naturally to him. Such a huge man, and his heart is still too big for his body. He is equal parts intelligent and kind, but a soldier has no need for his own mind, and kindness has no place in war. Danse doesn't trust himself. He doesn't trust that his choices, his ideas for the world, are right. He leaves himself in the hands of the Brotherhood. The responsibility is no longer his.
Deacon; You can't change a soul, and Deacon seethes at this. He is the same man he was all those years ago. It's only his body that he can change. Even then, only by so much. His eyes are recognizable. Silvery blue, tired, and paradoxically, as sharp as they are dull. He never looks like he's fully there with you. Always a few steps into some other reality. Deacon wants to be good. He wants to clear his name. It really is Deacon, but no one needs to know. He is the same man. He lies about what he's done, the things he's seen, but he'll never lie about what matters. So, he will always be Deacon, because the important parts never change. He knows and hates this. The synths are what drive him now—people looking to be themselves, to wear their own face. He gets it more than any other human. Sometimes he wishes he was a synth, just so he didn't have to be Deacon. But he's stuck with himself. He keeps himself company through all the faces he wears, and leaves them when he feels to close to a life he could make for himself. A lie left to settle could grow into a truth. He loathes himself but fundamentally, there is a good man in there. Only a good man can want to be better. But he feels that good man isn't good, that being good is what he has to reach for first. He is stuck in a loop of trying, when he doesn't have to try. Deacon is Deacon, and he doesn't know. He isn't unsalvageable. Just buried so deep under attempts he doesn't need to make. The only forgiveness that can save him is his own.
Gage; if Cait is a pit dog, Gage is a bull. This creature is no gentle thing, those horns are not merely regal. But in other life, he could have sat with his field and his herd. He could have watched the clouds roll on by with the wind, and kept watch on the outskirts of his pasture. A gentle thing, lumbering and quiet, but on guard. Always waiting to gore. Even as he circles his farm, he has kept it this long because there is nothing more dangerous than he. But as it stands, he has found what he thinks is a calling in violence. It doesn't come as naturally to him as the stray dogs he runs with. Meat has no place in his flat teeth. But he runs with them nonetheless and keeps pace. He leads the charge whether they admit it or not. Gage is strength and sharpened bone, but they were never meant to initiate. He is meant to stand his ground. He was meant to protect. But no one saw it coming, the bull with the predators, and surprise is a deathblow. It's easier to hunt than be hunted. You eat what you can get even if it fits wrong in your jaws.
Hancock; There is a flavor found in the guilt of the privileged that you can't find anywhere else. He was raised wealthy, well off. When he was younger, he watched others starve, die, suffer, and knew it was an aspect of life. It was nothing to mourn. It was inevitable. Between the exile and his revival of Goodneighbor, Hancock feels his biggest crime is not finding his shame sooner. He will say he has no shame, no embarrassment. Hancock lies awake at night thinking of every meal he's eaten when there was enough to spare for everyone else, but they went hungry. He thinks of people beaten in streets and how quickly he turned around. He thinks of how his own survival is selfish when so many good people die. Hancock is anger given flesh. It's not like Cait's; his is a wailing misery, stalking the ruins and knowing what Graveyard he steps in. Hancock feels too much sympathy for him to handle. He has to numb himself or he will lose it. He'll break under the shame of not knowing better sooner. Hancock finds blood on his hands that isn't there. Most of all, he hates how bad it makes him feel. Hancock thinks he has no right to the shame or the pain. There is worse. His disgust at his inactions is not enough. It's isn't enough that he tries to help now. He didn't help then. Hancock doesn't forgive easily.
MacCready; A quiet boy raising a quiet boy of his own. MacCready seeks peace in a way most people can't. He finds sunbeams filtering through windows, plants creeping through concrete, birdsong on the wind. MacCready is the everyday wastelander; too young to see the things he's seen. But he's different. Robert finds enjoyment in the world around him. He entertains himself, takes pride in his skills, and takes pleasure in good company in such a simple way, he feels almost out of time. In other world, he could have been the one crawling out from a Vault. MacCready is haunted like anyone. His ghost doesn't terrify him. Her memory is a comfort. It hurts and always will, but MacCready wanders on. He finds toys for their child and takes interest in them as if he's still a little boy himself. He feels as much, most days. MacCready is often distrusted, but often very beloved, because he is himself. There is no character, no mask, nothing warping the man you speak to. He is a kid trying to take care of his kid, but he'll take a moment to crack jokes at you and talk about something he read in a magazine. For someone so materially greedy, on a personal level, all he wants from anyone is pleasant conversation. It's refreshingly human in a time where even humans seem more like monsters.
Nick; A painful period of one man's life, etched into hardware and frozen forever. The man dies but his pain lives, trapped in the agony of grief and betrayal. If Hancock is anger in flesh, Nick is disgust in a jar. Disgust at the injustice, at the trickery of a mastermind, the wasted life of a fine woman. Disgust at himself, fading away into a bitter old man who failed his city and his love. Valentine was a very good man who took a very dark turn after Jenny. Nick is the moment before he fell off that precipice. If Nick knew who Valentine hardened into, he'd have yet another crisis, another thing to brood over. Nick is so loved by Diamond city because he is an inhuman thing, but so capable of love and tenderness. He is all give, and incapable of take. You can't give him anything in return, and you don't need to. He's a robot very good at comforting. A robot doesn't need comfort. Nick convinces himself of this, as well. But people try. Humans get attached to the inhuman. A child hugs his leg and says they're glad he made it back. A guard throws an arm over his shoulder when he can't save someone and tells him he still did good. People hand him patches of fabric for Ellie to sew into his trench coat. Nick is loved. To be loved is to be known. Nick doesn't even know himself.
Piper; The plight of the angry woman rarely leads to a happy ending. The angry woman has her reasons. She is right. However, there are techniques to achieve results. A battering ram doesn't fix a door, it merely opens the path. Piper sees problems, but her solutions forget the complicated world around her. She wants to fix things. Some things can't be fixed, or the problem isn't actually what she thinks it is, or maybe it's just not the right time. Piper sees a problem, and the simplicity of knowing it has to change is enough for her. She barrels at the betterment of the world and doesn't think about it. She is angry that things are wrong. Piper is a young woman scared out of her mind, for herself, her sister, her community. The people around her beg her to be careful, to slow down, to not burn herself in the attempt to set the evils around her on fire. Piper doesn't realize how reckless she is. She doesn't realize that her life has value beyond fixing everything. A reporters job is to report. It is not to be a savior. Piper speaks the truth, but when nothing changes, she thinks her job isn't done. Her job is to spread the word. Piper thinks it is up to her to act on it. Her work will never be enough for her.
Preston; A good man hanging on by a thread. So close to being a monster to the people preying on him and his kin. Preston holds civilians in one arm, and a gun in the next. He has lost much of his mercy, and much of his patience. But he still acts on it. He knows right from wrong even if the wrong seems like it's the only thing that can soothe the fire in his gut. Preston lets people talk about him as if he is a gentle soul, still. As if he's merely a gentle lamb. Preston feels more like a guard dog who can still smell the bloodied wool of all the herds he's failed before. He won't even grace the next pack of wolves with a warning howl. This rage terrifies him, but Preston feels that being scared is how you stay alive, now. If you're not scared, you're not paying attention, you haven't noticed the torches on the hill. He is so angry it makes him sick. Gunshots from Quincy still ring in his ears. He still hears Hollis hit the ground dead. Preston wants to be a good person. He is one. But there is so much fury inside him, that he fears any chance of revenge that he gets will rip that away from him. He just needs one chance, and he'll be a monster like the Commonwealth has never seen before. He'll just be on its side.
X6-88; A robot with human traits, different from other synths. All of them have humanity they hide away, but X6 is exactly what he seems like. There is no internal softness, no tenderness or wanting. He doesn't stare at the sun and ponder his existence. He doesn't count the stars and think about what makes up a soul. Oddly, his disinterest in his humanity is rather human in itself. X6 is not concerned with his rights or his status as a living thing. This frustrates many in the Institute. Synths were made to be adaptable. In many ways, X6 isn't. He's the most inflexible motherfucker they've ever met. There is one way to do things. There is always an answer for a question and if you haven't found it, the question is pointless or you're stupid. Humanity doesn't seem efficient so he doesn't want it. He fascinates many. Most synths will give a long, careful answer about their existence, worded just so they don't get wiped. X6, when asked if he is human, will say no and look vaguely irritated that you could compare him to one. This is not intended. No one programmed in this lack of curiosity. He is so robotic, so one note, that he sticks out like a sore thumb from the other synths. X6 wears his inorganicness like a badge of honor. He is not human. He is better. The Institute argues about him constantly, whether he is an accidental success they didn't know they should strive for, or a black mark against everything they believe.

leslie does not appear in the post-crisis crime alley intro. in her stead, there's another older woman whose work is thought to be altruistic, one with potential to transform the lives of the desperate and condemned (from such a young age, too) -- ma gunn. of course, soon we learn that her charity is but a ruse, and she uses her reputation and position to exploit those most vulnerable. here it is -- the cynical 'subversion' that will become the staple of the post-crisis batman for years to come.
but arguably, despite the appearances, it is not ma gunn who truly takes leslie's place in the narrative. that place being, of course, both the symbol of the hope of the crime alley and a counterpoint to batman's philosophy. it is, instead, the main character of second chances -- jason. jason, whom bruce meets in the same alley his parents died, but who makes bruce laugh upon their first encounter. jason, who has a strong sense of justice, despite it not quite aligning with bruce's -- jason who does not care about what bruce thinks of him being a thief, jason who insists it does not make him a crook; jason who has no care for the label of 'criminality' in itself (just as leslie, who insists that talking of 'criminals' in the alley is non-productive and that in targeting them, bruce would just prey on those unfortunate). jason who is to become gotham's light as robin, but who also is tied to its darkest place.
there is, of course, a problem here -- jason is a child. and so, what was seen as a genuine challenge to batman before -- the lack of care for the 'criminal' label, is now seen as a corruption of the youth that can be "treated" like all disease that crime is (and can be also used as an excuse for the child endangerment - by collins and so, by bruce whom he writes too). and surely, soon enough, without much commentary from the narrative itself, after a timeskip, we are introduced to jason whose background is of very little relevance. as a child, and as robin, he is (for a time) malleable. he believes in batman just as dick grayson did. until starlin takes the run over, and jason is to become a 'challenge' again -- but this time there is no authentic consideration for the politics and societal reality behind it. the conflict that leads to aditf is first and foremost one around bruce's role as a parent, and less so about his strategy. and even in the garzonas' case, there's this confusion -- jason's complaints are not about the system, but about their efficiency. it's all back to batman's theoretical framework. and when jason comes back from the dead, year after -- that is what happens with the red hood modus operandi too. all of this a direct reference to competence of batman, jason's background becoming a stereotype it was supposed to go against.
thankfully, before all that happens, and quite hurriedly post-crisis, someone (barr) realises leslie needs a comeback -- and it is the best she was ever written, her voice clear and strong. my beginning... and my probable end is, to me, the batman thesis. here we have bruce wayne, loving -- and here we have all of bruce's flaws exposed. leslie's first ever complaint post-crisis is about jason's role as robin, and so she becomes a cassandra, but it's so important to pay attention to their relationships. "you're doing it for yourself" is what leslie says, and she is right in believing it is not jason who needs robin. and jason, there, on a hospital bed, between them -- this is what his role in the narrative becomes. a consequence of a grand idea of batman that leslie was always against; but also someone who's life stretches in between these two beliefs, someone who came all the way from being so like leslie, only for him to become so entangled in vigilantism that there's hardly any reference to any of it left. and leslie was there, to see.
how both of their stances get stereotyped; how their initial roles get delegated into villainy or (in case of leslie) pettiness, is in a way a litmus paper for the condition of batman's comics. and it's just absurd how we never get to see them together after jason's resurrection; how the two most important characters of the crime alley cannot be afforded to share narrative space. that is, of course, because it would mean a confrontation of what jason was, and what he became.

I think people who get hung up on the genders or on headcanoning Ranma and Akane as transfem or transmasc have missed the point of ranma1/2 as a whole. Ranma 1/2 is about mixed martial arts, is about creativity, improvisation, and not being held to any set standard.
You see this even with just the myriad of suitors they get. None of their pursuits were valid. Not because any of them were the wrong* gender, but because they were just shitty people. Ranma and Akane gravitated towards one another, not because girl x boy, but because they found common ground and they respected and cared for one another deeply and sincerely as people, not prizes.
Ranma 1/2, in its own zany way, challenges the gender norms and toxic masculinity. If ppl's takeaway is that "-So Ranma was always a girl and Akane was always a boy!1!" Then that is in of itself sexist and *limiting* two protagonists in a work that means anything BUT to limit oneself.
Also, Akane as a transmasc/transmale? That wouldn't make sense even if people are still going off of the horrible characterization of the first adaptation. Akane is a character who is consistently coded as feminine. Akane is someone who, like any other teenage girl with a boy she likes, is insecure about her own looks. But Akane is also someone who likes martial arts, has a strong sense of justice, and is someone that her community considers reliable and dependable.
Ranma Saotome himself is a commentary and satire of the "hard boiled" *Uber patriarchal and sexist martial artist tropes*. Rumiko is an author who uses a lot of Buddhist themes and subtext, and because she also uses Chinese influences, i'll include daoist principles as well. Ranma (as he was *raised* by genma) was severely unbalanced and limited. Falling into the niangnichuan was the best thing possible to give him a sense of perspective and broaden his horizons, not only as a martial artist but as a person. Being able to reconcile his feminine qualities with his masculine doesn’t mean that he HAS to identify as a girl.
Or that he was always a hidden girl. Or that Akane was always a hidden boy because she enjoyed athletics.
They're just two teenagers flailing about but falling in love under the messed up stuff society is telling them to be.
Does their gender have to be discounted just because of our unaddressed gendered biases and prejudices?
I really enjoy seeing other ppls interpretations, but sometimes there's a... self harming, sexist, leaning into self-loathing (almost) backhanded way they go about some, when Ranma1/2, despite its dated tropes and zingers, at the heart of it, is all about celebrating ppl's differences and calling for ppl of all genders and backgrounds to not limit themselves. Much less the (gendered) negativity that the fandom directs towards either Ranma or Akane.

My personal take on the DAI companions as Tarot Cards
I've been reading Tarot for a long time now (20ish years) and I don't always agree with the cards they chose for the companions in DAI... I can see why they chose them; I think they're representative of where they are at that point in the story rather than their whole personalities. But I was thinking about how they would be represented as people using just the Major Arcana...
Personally, I would say:
Cassandra -- Justice
This card is very much about doing the 'right' thing. Cassandra is always grappling with what that is. She is honourable and ethical, and willing to change course when necessary. Always, she is guided by her faith and belief in a greater good.
Leliana -- The High Priestess
The High Priestess guards the veil that leads to hidden things. She's full of secrets and knowledge. She is someone who moves in the shadows. Leliana is all of those things, and a lay priestess to boot. The card is highly spiritual, like Leliana is highly spiritual. Like the HP, she knows how to use her secrets at the perfect time and never before.
Cullen -- Strength
Strength deals with a need for some kind of control. With strength, this comes in the form of patience and discipline. Cullen is struggling with addiction and how to manage his responsibilities to the Inquisition while doing so. He has to master it if he's going to do a good job.
Josephine -- Temperance
Temperance knows how to take opposing or extreme forces and bring them together to find a compromise that suits both. In a sense, they represent the ultimate diplomat. Josie is a master of this.
Solas -- The Magician
The Magician is intelligent, quick-witted and silver-tongued. He is a master of his craft. He knows how to use his abilities and the tools at his disposal to the best effect. He points one hand to the sky and the other at the ground, showing that his body is a conduit for divine power, and he gives it direction. At his best, he knows that he is just its conduit, not its source, and at his worst, he is prideful enough to believe the opposite.
Dorian -- The Star
The Star represents hope and inspiration, and is often referred to as the 'light at the end of the tunnel'. Sometimes, those hopes and visions are too unrealistic, or deemed to be hopeless by others. Dorian sees a vision of the future for his homeland that many think is impossible.
Sera -- The Chariot
It's very tempting to give her the Fool because of her attitude but ultimately I don't think it's suitable for her. The Fool is open and innocent, blissfully unaware, an empty vessel waiting to be filled with knowledge. Sera, by contrast, is not only determined and passionate, but she is not naive despite outward appearances; she has very strong motivations for her actions. She cares about the little people. This is her driving force, and she's unwilling to give up on it.
Vivienne -- The World
I'm really struck by where she sits at Skyhold--on the upper balcony area that overlooks the grand hall. From this vantage point, she can see all the goings on. No doubt she can understand exactly what is being said and exchanged by body language alone. It's due to her extensive experience at court that she can do this; where the Fool is the empty vessel waiting to be filled, the World is that vessel filled to its brim with knowledge and experience.
Cole -- The Empress
The Empress is the archetype of the mother, and she represents all that is kind, nurturing and compassionate. Cole, as Compassion incarnate, is all of these things. Compassion, and love in general, is about nurturing someone. It's about encouraging them to be the best that they can be. The Empress is also one of the great healing cards, and this is the core motivation behind Cole's actions.
Blackwall -- Judgement
Judgement, sometimes called Final Judgement, is the penultimate card of the Major Arcana. It's about the benefit of hindsight and how things sometimes only make sense when you get to the end of the road and can see all the patterns that led you to take certain actions. It's a card often associated with atonement and transformation, which is aligned with Blackwall's story in DAI.
Varric -- The Sun
The Sun is usually read as being about happiness and joy, but it's so much more than that. It stands for communication, truth, illumination and creativity. Although Varric is a bit of an unreliable narrator, his goal is to share stories and record them so they can be shared by everyone, like sunlight spreading over the land.
The Iron Bull -- The Lovers
Contrary to popular belief, The Lovers is not just about romance. It can be, or it can be about any powerful bond. However it would be better described as 'choice'. In older versions of the card, instead of Adam & Eve in the Garden of Eden, we see a man torn between two lovers. One is a virgin, the other is a temptress. Does he choose what he's supposed to like, or does he follow his heart and be with the one he truly wants? Moreover, it represents the experience of not knowing exactly what you want, or how much you want it, until you realise what you're willing to give up. Bull faces this choice when choosing between his duty to the Qun and the Chargers, whom he loves.

feelings toward seunghan's solo debut
it's been a while since i did a reading on the boys' personal feelings and was curious about their stances now. the reading ended up being longer than expected and energetically draining, so i'm just going to summarize the message i received as best as i can and why i think it's important to share.
right now, the boys are cautiously excited for seunghan's solo debut. they believe in him and believe that whatever seunghan does, he'll be successful. their caution stems from sm (surprise, surprise). they don't know if they can trust the company to take care of seunghan but have decided to intellectualize the situation and put aside any deeper feelings they may have. this wasn't directly in the cards, but i was getting a strong "we have no other choice" energy here.
seunghan's cards indicated that he's been reminiscing. he's in a nostalgic state, or perhaps he keeps being reminded of his past right now. he's also trying to trust in the guidance he's receiving, whether that be his inner guidance or the guidance of another person. (i will note that the high priestess card has come out before as a symbol of female leadership in the past, and this time, i noticed the woman on the card eerily resembles the c2 performance director. do with that what you will.) on top of all this, he's feeling a heavy burden and may be undergoing a powerful tower moment. which makes sense. debuting as a soloist destroys everything he trained for, which was to debut in a boy group. it's a complete upheaval from what he's always known and wished for.
next, i asked, "would riize want seunghan back in the group? would seunghan even want to go back?"
i shuffled separately for each question, and they both got the six of swords. the six of swords is the card of moving on from a lost battle, from a painful past. i then asked, "if sm did everything right, gave the boys everything we've been boycotting for, would that change things?"
the answer? yes, it would. at least, it would for riize.
for seunghan, it was clear that he would need more support. not only would he need sm to do everything right by him, riize would have to open their arms to him again. the two of cups emphasized to me that he needs things to be at equilibrium for him to want to return. there has to be a feeling of equal partnership. he needs justice, protections in place, support from fans, and finally, support from riize. thankfully, it looks like riize is up for the task, but this will only happen if sm does its job first.
so, what's the point of this message? the point of it isn't to be alarmist or negative. i promised i wouldn't sugar coat any of my readings and would always come forward with honesty. the reason i'm sharing this is because it personally struck me, just how crucial it is now that we band together and pressure sm to do what is right.
i feel so convicted in this reading. remember the cards that came out as signs of seunghan's return to riize (weekly check-in #4)? yeah, well, 4 out of the those 5 cards came out in this reading.
all of them except justice. quite on the nose, but symbolic, isn't it?

so baby pull me closer
rated M - 1k words - Sachiko/L
in which Sachiko has an affair with her son's teacher
for @dnrarepairweek day 4: temptation
read on ao3 or below:
Sachiko knows, in the back of her mind, that she should probably stop this. She’s perfectly happy with Soichiro. He’s a lovely, honest man who’s a strong role model for their son. He’s very polite and has a strong sense of justice.
But that strong sense of justice keeps him working late nights, and he spends all his energy smiling at dinner, and then when it’s time for bed he’s too tired to do anything but just slip under the covers.
She’s glad he’s helping keep Tokyo safe. But she’s only human, and humans are animals, and her animal body has needs and complains when they aren’t fulfilled. She can only take so many mid afternoon sessions of rocking about on her fingers.
And so she keeps coming back to see Ryuzaki, again and again.
It started as an honest conversation about Light’s grades. Nothing more. Her son was the best, as usual, sure to go on to do great things and make his family proud. That was that, and there was no reason to discuss the matter further.
And yet somehow they found more to discuss, circling around the teacher’s desk with its neat stacks of papers and bright red apple. She learned that Ryuzaki was fairly new to Tokyo, having only moved to the area five years ago, and that he was single despite his smooth, silky voice and charming smile.
He called her a week later. There was something he’d forgotten to mention, he explained. Something important that he needed to show her.
And that something was his lips and his hands and a dark corner tucked behind a maple tree.
They’ve never mentioned her son since.
He’s younger than her by around ten years and it shows in his stamina and his agility. His best record is giving her five orgasms in two hours, and he’d barely even come up for breath.
He likes being put in his place. Too much energy spent telling students what to do all day; he prefers to let someone else take charge for once. And she is quite happy to oblige; Soichiro had never been interested in such things and she had never known how to ask.
He has a very nice car. She doesn’t know how he affords that on a teacher’s salary, but that doesn’t matter. The important part is that it has soft, cushy seats and dark windows that are hard to see into at night.
Their first night together, she’d laid back and begun to study the ceiling, taking note of how the shapes fit together, before she was abruptly distracted by his hands slipping up under her shirt and his teeth meeting her neck.
Soichiro never bites. Soichiro is a proper, sophisticated man who treats her gently. And she appreciates his caution, appreciates the way he’s careful not to push her past her limits. But he never asks her where the limits are, and his guesses are always conservative.
Ryuzaki pushes. He’s hurt her before, not on purpose, but when he opened his mouth to apologize she sealed it with a kiss instead. How is she supposed to know how much her body can take, after all, if she never tests it?
The car makes her nervous. She’s always afraid of someone stumbling across them, someone who knows Soichiro and can tell him exactly where she’s been on all the nights she’s invented a book club, or a quilting circle, or another suitable housewife hobby.
And yet the danger makes it all the more exciting.
Tonight, it’s Ryuzaki on his back and Sachiko perched above him, back rounded within the confines of the car. She’s teasing the head of his cock with her fingertips. He’s circumcised, unlike her husband, and the exotic nakedness of his shaft excites her.
He whimpers below her, so soft and vulnerable. He likes to give up his body to her, to let her take control. She likes the rush of power in knowing that she can bend him to her will. She presses her mouth to his and he kisses back hungrily and desperately.
She runs a hand under his shirt to grasp his nipple. They keep their clothes on most of the way, which means less skin contact but an easier getaway if need be.
She likes knowing that they might have to run if they’re spotted.
Sometimes she wonders what Soichiro would do if he knew. Would he be angry with her? Would he walk away? Would he bow his head and accept that it was his fault for getting so busy, for leaving her alone so often?
Sometimes she wonders if his late nights are not just at his office.
She lowers herself onto Ryuzaki’s cock, all twitching and pulsing with anticipation. She rocks back and forth, deliciously full of his girth.
He is actually a bit smaller than Soichiro, but she doesn’t mind. It sounds cliche, but size isn’t everything. And besides, she likes the variety.
Sometimes he likes to be told that he’s naughty. That he’s bad, for tempting her here. He never points out that she’s the one who keeps coming. He lets her blame it all on him and his youthful good looks and smooth, silky voice.
Sometimes he likes to tell her how beautiful she is, how much he loves her body even with its marks of age and pregnancy. He likes her stretch marks and her cellulite, he likes the way her breasts sag beneath her shirt.
They went to a love hotel, once, and saw each other properly naked. She drank in his lean, strong form, mostly smooth but for a few scars around his limbs. He explained the stories of some of them – scrapes from falling off his bike, burns from distracted cooking, scratches from his cat. It was odd to hear about his life outside of here, outside of this secret they shared.
She liked getting to see him in the soft, romantic lights. But she also likes seeing him in the dim street lamps, occasionally lit up by a passing car. It feels better that way. It feels better to make it covert.
Their affair is like film that’s still developing. If it leaves the darkroom too fast, it’ll get all damaged and faded.
It’s temporary, she reminds herself. It can’t go on forever. Someone will see them, or she’ll mix up her stories, and it’ll all come crumbling down like a house of cards.
So she has to savor it while she lasts. She has to make the most of these trysts.
She rides on his cock and revels in his deep, delicious moans.

Why Sora Should be Treated the Same as Superman (An Opinion Piece)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As I get older, I'm able to look at various fictional characters more closely, understanding more about why they're so iconic. A few years ago, I gained a renewed interest in the Kingdom Hearts franchise, seeing why so many people love its story, characters, and of course, its crossover element with Disney and Final Fantasy. I want to take a little look at the franchise's main protagonist, Sora, shed a light on him if you will. I feel you could draw some similarities between him and the DC Comics hero Superman (aka Kal-El, aka Clark Kent).
Now, I know this may seem like an odd comparison to some of you, but personally, I think it does kind of make sense when you think about it. Obviously these two have very different personalities, backstories, powers, and motivations that drive them. However, both are kindhearted, optimistic heroes from humble beginnings, with a strong sense of justice and morality. Not to mention a desire to help others and do the right thing.
Their respective actions certainly speak for themselves on that front, as they each go about it in their own unique way. In the comic book All-Star Superman, one issue sees him fighting a group of lizard men invading from the Earth's core. Then, in another issue, we see him stop a depressed teenage girl from stepping off a building, giving her comfort and support. Yes, he's got super strength and godlike powers, but he's also considerate, compassionate, and gentle enough to offer a helping hand whenever needed. Superman is a hero who inspires the best in all of us. He is, as filmmaker James Gunn once put it, kindness in a world that sees kindness as old fashioned. Even though he lives on a planet he wasn't born on, he still aspires to bring hope to that planet, providing them a light to show the way. Krypton made him the man of steel, but Earth made him human.
Tumblr media
There are moments in the Kingdom Hearts series where we see a bit of that kindness mirrored in Sora as well. One minute he would be cutting down Heartless with his keyblade, the next he'll be enjoying good times with his friends, old and new. Whether it's dancing around with Rapunzel in the Kingdom of Corona, visiting Winnie the Pooh and his pals in the 100 Acre Wood, or helping to make Boo laugh in Monstropolis. He protects the world order and fights against the forces of evil, but he's also having fun along the way. There's a playfulness to Sora, a big smile on his face that warms people up inside. He's a brave young man who can easily form connections with anyone he comes across. There are still hardships to face, but he perseveres through it, showing that deep down, there is a light that never goes out. Even when it seems like he's on the verge of giving up, his friends are there to inspire him and lift him back up, just as he had done for them. He follows his heart, which is, and has always been, his guiding key.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You could say that these similarities are due to the fact that Sora and Superman are very much archetypal heroes. Joseph Cambel's hero's journey cycle (which also heavily influenced Star Wars) can be seen in both of their respective journeys. Individuals from humble beginnings who venture out into the wide world ahead of them, encountering various allies, enemies, and obstacles along the way. The journey ultimately leads to the heroes gaining greater powers and becoming more than who they were before.
It's also worth noting that another thing Superman and Sora have in common is that sometimes they are both willing to take great risks in order to save the people that they love. In Superman: The Movie, the man of steel himself flies around the Earth at great speed, turning back time to save Lois Lane from an earthquake. In Kingdom Hearts 3, Sora uses the power of waking to bring back Kairi after her body was destroyed by Xehanort, sacrificing his own life in the process.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, why do I bring all of this up? Because I believe that this is something that writers should keep in mind when tackling Sora, whether it's for fan fiction, comics, novels, etc. I've noticed this trend on the internet of people deconstructing the psychology of Sora and delving into the negative effects that his adventures have had on him. A few of them have even declared his optimism and playful smile as a form of "toxic positivity". While it does seem like an interesting idea, I feel like it's causing people to forget about why they love him in the first place. In some cases, there are those who end up going too far with that notion.
Not long ago, I stumbled upon a Kingdom Hearts fan fiction story titled Keys to the Kingdom. Basically, it reads as an alternate universe reimagining of the events of Kingdom Hearts 3. Even though it was well written, this version of the story gets extremely dark, depressing, and cynical. Not only that, but it also mistreats Sora in a somewhat disturbing way, portraying him as a tortured and tormented soul. While his arc in this does prove to be compelling at times, it was still very jarring, making for an overall unpleasant experience. The fic seemed to be so focused on beating this character down, so intent on having him suffer throughout, that it ends up losing sight of what makes him so endearing and likable. Or, to borrow a quote from the young keyblade wielder himself:
"You're so caught up in finding the shadows, you forgot about the light that cast them."
Tumblr media
This doesn't feel too out of place with the "evil Superman" trend that was around for a period of time. The video game Injustice is a prime example of this, as it depicts Superman as a merciless dictator of a fascist regime, who rules with an iron fist and shows no compassion towards crime or his enemies. Even other creations like Homelander from The Boys and Omni-Man from Invincible are representations of this idea since they are basically evil Superman-types. Admittedly, I do give those two a little more leeway since they were made specifically for the stories they came from. They are not directly related to Superman other than having similar powers. Although this concept can be fun to tackle with an original character, I don't think it feels right to try to do it with the genuine article himself. That's not really who he is.
When making the first Superman movie back in 1978, director Richard Donner took it upon himself to do the big blue boy scout justice. He didn’t want the material to be treated with disrespect, nor to be seen as a joke. There's a word he used to emphasize this as a top priority: "verisimilitude". For those unfamiliar, the basic definition of it is the appearance of being true and real. Not only was that word hung up on the wall above Donner's office (which it was), but it also established the mission statement that many of the great superhero movies made in the years since then have followed:
Be truthful, honor the source material, believe in it, take it seriously.
Tumblr media
This is the type of mindset that should be adopted by anyone who adapts any kind of preexisting work, especially when it comes to something like Kingdom Hearts. If you want a good example of how to write Sora in a way that showcases how great he is while also being faithful to who he is, there's another fan fiction story titled Starbound, created by my friend @skygent. An anthology with an overarching narrative mixed in, it uses the setup of Sora's disappearance at the end of Kingdom Hearts 3 as a way to examine the impact that he's had on all of his friends and allies. In a deeper, meta sense, it offers an analysis of the connection that fans of the franchise itself have formed with him.
The stuff that has been written so far for this fic is absolutely amazing. In fact, it's what led to my renewed interest in Kingdom Hearts in the first place. It has pretty much what you would want in a story like this one. Balancing a sense of scale, mystery, and adventure, but also quiet reflection. Offering some fun little twists, but still retaining the core essence of what the source material is all about. Through this story, we see various characters (including some not featured in the games) learning of and reacting to Sora's disappearance, remembering their encounters with him in the past. Some of them are even inspired to try and figure out where he is, willing to doing whatever it takes to help find him and bring him back home. Here, they demonstrate just how much he means to them, just as they all do to him.
To be clear, I'm not saying that Sora should stay exactly the same. In a series like Kingdom Hearts, we want to see those characters grow and evolve. With the things that Sora has experienced throughout the series, and with where we will find him at in Kingdom Hearts 4, it'll be interesting to see where he goes next. At the same time though, we also should remind ourselves that people love this character for a reason. As this young hero embarks on his newest adventure, he shouldn't lose what makes him who he is as a person. Instead of pulling him apart, I think Sora is someone who deserves to be celebrated. To be treated with dignity and respect, just as Donner did for the last son of Krypton. In the same way we've celebrated Superman over the years for what he stands for and represents, Sora should also be recognized in an equally similar way. Their respective core values and good morals, all the stuff that makes them heroes. It's these things that turned them into pop culture icons who remain with us to this day. It's why they will continue to be icons in the foreseeable future.
Two beacons, shining bright in the darkness. Never forget that.

[Chivalrous Devotion AU] Reference sheets for some of the supporting characters!
Nimue's designs were designed by @tillytilli!
The fic can be read here!
Twitter | Bluesky
More info under the cut!
The Blacksmith:
Maoilios the Blacksmith, known as Smithy, is a 43-year-old two-tailed fox. He's the best blacksmith in Camelot and knows a thing or two about weapons. His knowledge and skills are very appreciated. That wasn't always the case, though. Smithy was very ostracized during his first years, as everyone seemed to think that a two-tailed fox would bring bad luck and curses. Smithy spent most of his time doing research and building swords, which made Arthur was curious about him. Not wanting to scare the fox away, he approached him in disguise and befriended him, nicknaming him Smithy for his blacksmith skills. After seeing that Smithy was just a lonely boy living in a burrow all alone, Arthur invited him to live with him. Smithy was very shocked to find out his new friend was King Arthur himself. Arthur worked hard to make sure no one saw Smithy as a bad omen and took good care of the little fox. It didn't take long for the two to form a close brotherly bond. Smithy really looks up to the king and admires him, even after 35 years.
Nimue:
Nimue is known as the Lady of the Lake. She is a magical fairy enchantress, who disguises herself as a hedgehog to be more approachable to mortals. She knows a lot about sacred weapons, and even gifts them to knights she deems worthy. She often has missions for knights, and Sir Percival especially likes to fulfill them. Nimue has grown quite fond of the knightess and looks forward to her visits. She is also the foster mother of Lancelot, who lost his family and home castle when he was just a little boy. Nimue took him in and taught him how to fight, eventually gifting him the sacred sword made from the stars, Arondight. And when Lancelot had his own son Galahad, Nimue naturally took the role of a grandmother, helping Lancelot take care of the young boy and looking after him when Lancelot had to go on his missions. She also taught Galahad to fight and gifted him a cinquedea which has telekinetic powers. While teaching fighting isn't the most conventional way for parenting, Nimue genuinely cares for both Lancelot and Galahad, and considers them her family.
King Arthur:
King Arthur Pendragon is the legendary king of Camelot and the leader of the Knights of the Round Table, as well as the alternate reality doppelgänger of Sonic the Hedgehog himself. He owns the sacred sword Caliburn which can transform into the legendary Excalibur. He can always be seen carrying its scabbard which was a gift from Nimue. The scabbard protects him, preventing any wound he receives from bleeding. His looks aren't the only thing that resemble Sonic – he's friendly and laid-back but can be short-tempered, has a strong sense of justice, and treats everyone equally. He's a skilled fighter, a fast runner, and the most powerful knight in the land. While he isn't as fast as Sonic is, Arthur is physically stronger than him. However, Arthur mysteriously disappeared three years ago, and no one knows what happened to him. The court isn't worried anymore, as Sonic's arrival's timing was just right – they believe Sonic is the lost king. While Sonic must pretend to be Arthur who has lost his memories, he also wonders what even happened to the king. Will he be back one day, and will Sonic be in trouble if he does return?

Why both Eddie and Venom are autistic and how the movies are actually a metaphor for neurodivergence
Includes some of my personal headcanons and concepts that I’ve been thinking about and need to share.
BE WARNED!!! This post is a bit long (and also a cringy, rambling, nonsensical mess) full thing under cut.
Some quick notes before we begin: when I have one of their names at the beginning of a section it means anything in that section only applies to one of them. (Idk, I couldn’t figure out how to organize this, you’ll see what I mean)
I don’t know much comic lore, all of this is based off of the movies. Though the movies are a different universe so I don’t think it will matter too much.
Also I use He/They/It pronouns for Venom.
In the end, Im just one guy with a hyper fixation please take everything I say with a grain of salt and feel free to add on or correct me about stuff. Especially if I say anything stereotypical or offensive about nurodivergance/autism a lot of this is based on some personal experience and I absolutely make mistakes and generalizations.
Alright enough of my yapping let’s get to it.
Overall big picture stuff
Applies to Both of them
the whole concept of them being “losers” together is kind of autistic coded. Autistic people are often viewed as incompetent or childish or useless. And I like to think they are connecting over that shared experience.
Noise sensitivity!!! Both of them have noise sensitivity! I probably don’t need to elaborate that much but that one scene in their apartment was some of the best overstimulation representation I’ve ever seen overstimulation guitar scene
Venom
Venom comes across as unfeeling because they don’t emote in a “normal” way.
They’re very blunt and literal.
Venom sometimes has a slightly higher-pitched voice when excited or angry. Which I’m going to attribute to him masking. He wants to appear tougher and scarier. This is important to its species and Venom, who is already perceived as weak by their peers, intentionally deepens his voice a bit to blend in. (This is definitely a headcanon but I love this concept so I don’t care that the real reason is that the voice modifier they use does silly things)
This is also why I think it’s so concerned about Eddie and him “looking bad” Looking weak was dangerous and they trained themself to hide “weakness”
It’s always “How does Venom affect people” and never “What does Venom need and how do other people’s actions affect them”
Venom prefers to express its thoughts and feelings through mental connection with its host and then have that person relay the information to whomever they are “speaking” to. Nonverbal communication!
Venom not understanding humans (social interaction, conventions, etc.) is kind of autistic coded.
Eddie
Edie kind of disregards a lot of social conventions. Still hangs out with his ex-fiancé AND her boyfriend. He also doesn’t seem to mind talking to Venom out loud.
Eddies is just kind of anxious in general.
Eddie struggles to find full time employment.
On that vein, he also struggles to maintain relationships.
Eddie's sense of justice. Eddie has a strong sense of justice and morals that often don’t align with generally accepted values and he follows this view of justice and morality to an absurd degree and it often gets him in trouble. Aka, the entire plot of the first movie is because Eddie has autism.
He wears the same clothes all the time.
Specific moments that I think about
Venom
Venom chewing on the tire swing (they both have oral stims btw)
Sand between his toes. Idk I just thought it was cute and chose to believe they like the sensation.
Say it with me. Tater tots are a safe food!!!
Venom rocks back and forth a lot.
This is a stretch but when Venom is like “look at all these weirdos, my kind of people” it’s a metaphor for him being queer but I’d argue it also kind of fits with neurodivergence. Neurodivergent people often connect with “weirdos” (other neurodivergent people)
Likes organization “Pile of bodies, pile of heads”
Eddie
I’ve been told Eddie chews on his necklace at the beginning of the movie but I can’t find the clip and can’t do a rewatch right now so take that with a grain of salt… (I chose to believe this happened though. Also his bracelets are stim heaven)
When he says “Oh, I have a parasite” to Mrs. Chen he had no clue what to say here. He just said the first thing that came to mind and panicked instead of explaining.
Also the way he says things funny. Ex: “✨It’s a treeeee✨” supa, supa, fhasstt” “Heee…. has. one. up. hi’s. Ass toooooo” “ET. Phone home. Aliens? 😃” I chose to believe they are vocal stims (I also attempted to find a compilation but I couldn’t find any. Maybe I’ll make one sometime)
Eddie also makes sound effects a lot.
Eddie writes notes on pen and paper instead of digitally.
He apologizes an excessive amount. Like he says “I’m sorry” to people actively trying to kill him. Which is so real.
“I just bit that guys head off” “I, uhhh, yea I’ve been there it’s not fun” 😕
Eddie also rocks back and forth. Which can be seen in this scene
Quick segment into why I think Venom was rejected by other Klyntar (it’s because he has autism)
Venom doesn’t adapt as quickly or as efficiently as other Klyntar. It doesn’t handle change well.
All of the normal Klyntar weaknesses are turned up to 1000 with them. Instead of just certain frequencies, the range that hurts him is larger and is also affected by loud noises. As shown by: “Venom car alarm scene
instead of just fire, heat also bothers it. Also doesn’t adapt to light well. (Just a headcanon)
Can’t create weapons out of their body like other Klyntar. struggles with “simple” skills.
Much more emotional than other Klyntar and develop attachments (also purely a headcanon)
Just overall didn’t fit well into their society.
Just headcanons
Venom and Eddie are so compatible because their brains work the same way.
“I wish I could just mentally project my thoughts and feelings directly into your brain. Oh wait, we can do that!”
Venom also has temperature sensitivities. He gets hot.
Venom likes to stim to low key music, mainly jazz and lo-fi. Does the one song on repeat for three hours to wring all the happy chemicals out of it like a dish rag thing.
Venom also absolutely loves cheesy pop music (unrelated to anything here but I’m right and I needed to include it)
Venom functions as a weighted blanket for Eddie when he’s anxious. Maybe even hides under his shirt and stuff and becomes an extra weight.
Eddie stims with his jewelry.
Venom likes to sit in the freezer. Sometimes they visit Mrs. Chen's walk in just to chill (lol)
Purely my opinion but I think Venom also has some light sensitivity for a bit because it’s not used to being in such a bright environment. He gets used to it eventually but every once in awhile he finds the city lights overstimulating.
They are both very tactile. Touching things. Love a good texture.
Venom is super particular about food for someone who eats out the garbage but certain textures and flavors drive them crazy.
Venom hates vegetables. (Except for celery because it likes the crunchy and stringyness of it)
How all of this makes for a great metaphor!
Feeling like an alien in the world is probably the most relatable thing for a lot of nurodivergent people. Like there’s a manual for being human you don’t have. And just the concept of a literal alien showing up and struggling to navigate in a world not made for it is so relatable!
The way they both immediately connect to each other because they have the same weird brain stuff and weren’t accepted by their respective societies is so adorable and wholesome.
“We’re not so different, you and I” This line lives rent-free in my mind at all times. It’s my favorite quote. I think it perfectly encapsulates their relationship and why it’s special. They have autism and are bonding because the other is the first person who truly understands them! (Cries, screams, throws up)
In conclusion
They are in love and have autism. And they cling to each other because they are the first people to truly understand each other. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
Also I listened to UFO by Smith and Thell on loop while writing this. It’s very autistic symbrock coded so give it a listen if you’re a fan of inde-pop.

Mob Psycho 100 S1 Review
There are some pieces of media that you swear everyone is talking about. Its that one show you see at every booth at Comic Con, or everyone is making memes about on Twitter. If you're anything like me, you say to yourself "I'll get to it someday", put it on a shelf, then move on with your life. You eventually remember it, smile, and think about the time when it was fresh and new.
Tumblr media
One of the biggest examples of this, for me, is Mob Psycho 100. And now, after a recommendation from a friend, I can understand why this series made such a splash when it debuted.
Tumblr media
Written by One, and animated by studio Bones, Mob Psycho 100 follows a 7th grader with psychic powers, as he works with a fake exorcist to defeat evil spirits. They meet a cast of wacky characters along the way, and face strong foes, as Mob tries to make friends and live his best life.
Tumblr media
The show is pretty funny, though maybe not exactly laugh-out loud hilarious. Much like One's other series (One Punch Man), the world of Mob Psycho 100 is full of silly characters, who do silly things, that lead to silly consequences. An episode's plot can be as simple as Mob joining a fitness club, but by the end, there will have been a massive psychic battle full of finger-pointing, declaring attacks, and wacky hijinks. It never feels like it's pushing for laughs, or trying to take itself too seriously, and that feels good.
Tumblr media
When it does take itself seriously, the show still remembers to keep up its goofiness. Enemy psychics have strange voices, will launch into grand monologues about world domination, and are usually built like cartoon characters.
Tumblr media
At times, Mob Psycho 100 feels like a satire of battle shonen series, for how it plays with expectations of the genre. The main character, Mob, is shy, soft-spoken, and doesn't like fighting. When someone attacks him, he hardly fights back, and yet somehow, he wins. He defeats his foes, either by talking them down, or humiliating them in some way or another, all without intending to, and offering an apology afterwards.
Tumblr media
Mob is such a refreshing and unique character. In an industry where cocky, loud-mouthed brats sell manga, Mob makes his mark as just a little guy with heart, who refuses to hurt anyone because of his morals. He's the straight man in his wacky comedy world, the one who asks villains why they're fighting him, and for them to stop. He's very easy to root for, and as the show reveals more of his backstory, you learn more about why he is the way he is.
Tumblr media
Mob is wonderfully juxtaposed by his boss, Reigen Arataka, a scam artist who he believes is a real exorcist. Reigen has this slick energy about him, an almost infectious energy in whatever he does. He always has a snappy comeback, gestures wildly, and is very expressive. This turns into insta-comedy when he and Mob encounter an evil spirit, when the 'skilled exorcist' freaks out, and Mob has to calmly deal with it from the sidelines. The duo are incredibly entertaining, and could carry the show all by themselves if needed.
Tumblr media
And just like One Punch Man, this anime gives One's original manga a complete facelift, while still keeping the wacky designs of characters. Looking at the manga side by side with the anime is a trip, let me tell you. Bones really did Reigen justice.
Tumblr media
Honestly, Mob Psycho 100 is a cute show, with a good sense of humor, and unique character designs. At times, it can be wacky, heart-warming, or even a bit scary, but it's all just a downright good anime, and a lot of fun.

Analyzing Aki's personality, he seems to be a more introverted person than I thought! Of course, he likes active activities, but that's not always the case. Above all, he cherishes time alone without talking to people he isn't close to! Aki said that he is just a polite person and doesn't have a hard time dealing with people, but he is not suitable for the service industry! I'm sure you won't talk to strangers unless someone talks to you first!
Aki is like a fire, energetic, kind, and has a lot of laughter! But actually, he has a sensitive temperament. I think most people are more familiar with Aki's kindness. Isn't the sensitive side limited to Asami? If you don't do something rude to Aki first, Aki won't get angry! I think Aki has a persona as much as Asami! Aki is like a child, but he is more adult than anyone else!
I love that you said he is not suitable for the service industry. I laughed at that, because so true. I could not picture him in the service industry. He has too much of a fiery personality, and frankly a lot of pride. The minute some Karen shows up acting rude — he would immediately drop the niceties. He will be polite, but not if you’re not deserving of it. One of the things I love about Akihito is he has a strong backbone — it’s very much connected to his strong morales and sense of justice he has. But he will not let you walk all over him! And in fact, he hates that Asami is really the only person who can and does walk all over him. Though he does not make it easy for him!
This question though really made me think a lot about his character, and about things, I haven’t really had a lot of time to talk about on this page. Because its often things about his character that get swept under the rug because of the way he outwardly displays himself as an outgoing, thrill-chasing, social butterfly, who is cocky has an explosive and energetic personality, and who can’t seem to sit still for one second. But as much as he is all that — there is this element of Is that the real Akihito? Because he is indeed more introverted and sensitive than how he appears.
There is this side to his personality where he very much walks alone in life. Sometimes I get this vibe of loneliness from him. He is actually very isolated from the people around him and feels he doesn’t fit in with them. He even tends to thrive when he is alone and doing what he feels is right, and is on one of his crusades.
Maybe it’s partially because we don't get to see too much of Akihito’s life outside of Asami, or even the people in his life that aren’t Asami. That is partially Sensei’s own choice, as she has said Finder is not that kind of manga and the focus is on the underworld, and not on that kind of social drama about friends and family. So generally that is a part of the story that gets actively ignored. We don’t get to know much about Akihito’s family, or his social life, nor do we get to hear often from his friends. (Kou and Takato please come back to the story 😢) But the story gives us ample reason and explanations for why Akihito can’t confide in his friends or others about what happening to him — it always presented to us as totally normal and probably for the best that he can’t tell his friends about the kidnapping or trauma, or the crime he is exposed to on the regular bases. Part of it is he doesn’t want to worry them needlessly, he doesn’t want them to be exposed to the same world that he is now deeply entrenched in. Another part of it is over his shame of being in a relationship with a man. Which okay is maybe understandable, especially when this story was in the early 2000s and gay couples were still in the closet. (Maybe a little less reason for that nowadays, but I digress…)
It is truly weird to me that Akihito in particular really has no one he can confide in. While at the same time, this is happening — Asami who is presented as the colder, and more cut off from the world character of the two — somehow has MORE of a support system than Akihito! If you consider Kirishima and Suoh as the counterparts of Kou and Takato on the Akihitos side. Kirishima and Suoh are more in the know, they know everything about the two’s relationship and are more reliable pillars in Asami’s circle than Kou and Takato are in Akihito’s circle. So you're saying Asami, the most emotionally inept and closed off of the two, somehow can be more open than Akihito?? He even canonly talks about his relationship issues with his secretary but Akihito can’t be open and honest with his own friends??? HUH?
I love anon that you said Aki’s persona is much like Asami. Because he is actually a lot like Asami in ways that I think neither of them really think about. They are both similarly (physically and emotionally) cut off from the world around them, both are actually fairly reserved in a similar way, both prideful in their own ways, and don't admit faults. They see themselves as outsiders from the “normal” world. Though their reasoning is very different. With Asami’s reasons are rooted in his life of crime. While Akihito’s is more about societal pressures and expectations, for which he doesn’t fit into. i.e. Being viewed as ‘just a kid’, having blond hair in a society that abhors physical differences, being viewed as a delinquent, and having unstable employment in an unprofessional and not taken seriously field of work, and obviously once he meets Asami he is now facing his sexuality in a bigoted society.
On that note tho, doesn’t it feel like Opposite Day — that in many ways it is Asami who is presented to us as the one more accepting of who he is and confident in what he wants. And doesn’t care or is bothered by what others think. It’s almost as if Asami is the one who is actually more emotionally mature compared to Akihito 🤔

TBB Season 2 Retrospective
Tumblr media
Season 2 of TBB is my favorite season for sure. I love all the character moments we get such as the conversation between Tech and Omega. It's why I love this show because at its best, TBB really tackles some mature topics. Although the Batch mainly do missions for Cid, I think it foreshadows season 3's ending really well in retrospect.
"Tribe" might be a fun adventure with Gungi, but on a deeper level, it's about Hunter realizing that what Omega needs is a true home and stability. It's the first instance in S2 where Hunter gets a look into domestic life. Phee as a character serves many purposes. She's an ally to the Batch and takes them on adventures. However, she also challenges Hunter's soldier lifestyle for Omega. Phee comments that Omega needs people her own age and stability, something that none of the Batch understand due to their upbringing. "Tribe" and Phee, along with some moments from S1, do a great job setting up Pabu.
Pabu is an ideal place for the Batch to live and raise Omega: it's hidden, beautiful, and welcoming to all. With all the signs encouraging Hunter to settle, Pabu is perfect. On a side note though, I do feel that the conflict in the episode "Pabu" was a bit contrived. Personally, I don't think we needed a tsunami for drama. I was perfectly content just watching the Batch relax.
S2, like S1, also does a great job of balancing the Empire's machinations with the Batch's shenanigans. "Metamorphosis" not only serves as a Batch mission for Cid, but also the introduction of Hemlock and the return of the Zillo. It develops both stories in a natural way which made for a phenomenal episode. The two-parter "The Clone Conspiracy" and "Truth and Consequences" equally shows the Empire's decommissioning of the clones, introduces the CX troopers, and what motivates Echo to leave. This is why I love TBB. We get a glimpse into how the imperials caused such chaos and created the Stormtroopers. Btw, I think the show handled the transition from Rampart to Hemlock really well. Both storylines were set up and interwoven with each other, which allowed the one villain to rise and the other to fall.
The notion that the Batch should settle is a major arc for Hunter and Omega this season. Hunter really begins to consider Pabu as a new home, especially because he wants to keep Omega safe. The more he sees the growing unrest, the more he reaffirms the decision in his mind. Clones have never settled down before and it's a new life for Hunter. He always wants to do right for his family and protect them. That's what leaders do. Even Wrecker slowly comes around to that idea and leans a lot on Hunter for decision making.
Omega gains a lot of new perspectives in S2 and I really loved that. She learns that things aren't what they always appear and that change is a part of life. This takes form in many ways, like when Romar showed her the kaleidoscope. Tech is another great example. He might not outwardly show his emotions the way she does, but his heart burns brightly for his family. And like Hunter, Omega begins to realize that having a home like Pabu isn't such a bad idea. She could grow up safely and make friends her age.
As for Echo, I realized that S1 does hint at his choice to leave in S2. His decision makes a lot of sense given his strong sense of justice and camaraderie with Rex. He's always been about helping others. This man has such a beautiful soul.
I think Crosshair is self-explanatory. Only three episodes and I perfectly understood what he did and why he did things. His humanity could no longer take being abused the way it was. He knew where his heart truly lied and he made his choice. S1 established his attachment to the Batch wasn't gone. But he wasn't ready to fully see the truth just yet.
Tech. Beautiful, smart, brave Tech. How much I miss you. S2 did so much giving him depth and maturity. They easily could've kept him as the stereotypical nerd who has great dry humor. But they chose to take a more thoughtful route. Like Omega, Tech learns to see things from a different perspective and it helps him grow as a person. It's those little moments that mean so much. I wish we could spend more time with him because Tech has so much to share with us and S2 highlights that perfectly.
AND TECH GOT THE GIRL (kinda but yall know what I mean). They could've chosen Hunter, the objectively attractive one, but I'm so glad they chose Tech. Look guys, I'm not a girl who goes out and buys all those trendy clothes or wears lots of makeup. So, it meant a lot that Tech was able to win over someone's affections. And kudos to Phee for always being understanding and loving Tech and his awkwardness.
I do have some other thoughts on Tech I will make a separate post on because it's something I really thought about on this rewatch.
S2 has beautiful music and animation on top of some stellar storytelling. "Mayday" will always be my personal favorite and "The Outpost" is always going to be my favorite episode. It means to much to me.
Overall, the best season imo. I love S3, but it has pacing issues, and S1 just makes me sad.

FAMILY for all of your self insert crew guys?
👪 FAMILY - what is their family like? what is your ocs relationship to them? does your oc have any siblings?
ooh okay, so.
kael's family was... strict and harsh, but kind. emphasis on the was.
they're dead, kael doesn't like to talk about his past much but one thing that émile knows is: kael is hiding something about his family. what happened to them.
kael had two siblings, he was older than them and they were twins. they saw kael as a mean older brother who never let them have any fun, until...
well, kael no longer has that family.
only one of the twins are alive, and despises kael and everything he once stood for. as far as the twin is concerned, they have no brother.
––
sasha grew up in a comfortable and small family unit; only her, her brother and their dad – their mum died defending sasha and her brother from nohrian soldiers.
sasha's mum was a nice lady who had a strong sense of justice, which she used to defend her family; while sasha's dad was a member of the nohrian army, but took a life-changing injury that forced him to give up fighting – which led him to meet her. the woman of his dreams.
she's gone now though. and sasha's brother blames himself for not being strong enough. sasha misses what he used to be like. the sweet, kind and caring older brother he once was.. now replaced by that born of fear and self hatred. a shell of his former self.
she writes letters to her dad. he doesn't always respond to them, and she is scared deep down that one day... there will never be a response again.
––
niko's family are alive and well, just worried for their lost child. niko is safe with kael and trusts him wholeheartedly, but the other wolfskin are not aware of niko's whereabouts...
niko's family know keaton, and spoke with him after niko disappeared. there wasn't much that they could do, as the members of the tribe that went looking for niko couldn't find them – only scraps of their cloak, which they took as evidence of... niko being dead.
niko was their family's only surviving child, but they now have a litter of younger siblings that he will never know. these siblings will be brought up under the assumption that niko is dead.
niko also sees kael as their brother, which is why he feels safe and trusts in kael so much.
––
émile is the child from a family of merchants who reside between izumo and hoshido, and émile actually visits her family regularly!
they welcome émile back into their home with open arms and are proud of what their child has managed to do, they are very supportive and gave émile the best education that they could.
émile was brought up never really feeling attached to people outside of the family – no friends, family friends or anything like that. kael was the only person remotely close to being a "friend" to émile.
émile is technically an only child, but has a few half siblings from both sides. the family is very secure, and émile's parents never cheated on each other. émile and his siblings all get along quite well and have friendly competition with each other, as they are all either apothecaries or merchants of some kind.
––
frank... well, frank doesn't recall what their family was like.
all things considered, he sees the mercenaries as a family. as his family.
frank francis cannot remember much of the past.
therfore, its better to make a new present and future. with people that she wants to know.
its a shame that she got spilt away from the awakening trio, but... he will find them again. their sure of it.

Healthy/Unhealthy Type 1
Healthy Social 1
Tumblr media
Rob Stark (1w9 so/sx)- In the search for a more fair and just Westeros. Maintains his anger in check and looks for morality in grounded and in bringing others up.
Kitana (1w2 so/sp)- Depending on which timeline we are on we can see how she embodies the idealism of E1. In MK11 we see her in the search to unite outworld and restore honor to Edenia. In her arcade ending we see her restoring Edenia and forging a bright and fair future for outworld.
Nakia (1w2 so/sp)- She subverts all of the stereotypes of E1. The enneagram 1 is known for their more “traditional” and restrictive views of moral however with Nakia we see a. fully integrated 1 to their 7. Her view of the world comes from a need to find joy and help others.
Unhealthy Social 1
Tumblr media
Betty Warren (1w2 so/sx)- The need to maintain a status quo were her and others suffer due to what's moral and right seems to be her core desire in the movie. She changes eventually and decides to pursue a career where she can channel her rage into productive actions.
Abuela Madrigal (1w2 so/sp)- While I understand fully why she is the way she is, her continuing the generational cycle of trauma instead of deciding to talk about the past leads her to stifling others. Neglecting Maribel and banishing Bruno. Her eventual change in the end promises a better future for everyone in the family.
Zaheer (1w9 so/sp)-In search for full liberation of the nation he ends up indulging in full anarchism. His desire to see the world as free and just sets him on a path of destruction. Probably the best example of an E1 who has fully disintegrated into 4. Fully detached from a grounded sense of morality.
Healthy Self-Preservation 1
Tumblr media
Elijah Mikaelson (1w9 sp/so)- His desire to preserve his own sense of morality always comes into question when it comes to Klaus. The desire to see a fully redeemed Klaus can cause him allot of problems however, he always is just in his decision making always looking for the best results for everyone.
Nancy Thompson (1w2 sp/so)- While I consider typing her as an SO6 too her desire seems to fall more on E1. She has a strong sense of morality and justice. Always in the look to help other whiteout letting her own sense of self righteousness get in the way.
Matt Murdock (1w9 sp/so)- Yes, he has a whole struggle with his sense of morality and defines good and bad however, Matt is generally a great example of an Sp1 who struggles with his idealism or perfection and morality and its realistic applications in the real world.
Unhealthy Self-Preservation 1
Tumblr media
Shirley Crain (1w2 sp/so)- Branded as “Perfect Shirley” for good reason.  Shirley is complete denial of reality and constantly repressing her true emotions makes her act as morally superior than her siblings. While not deciding to deal with her inner turmoil.
Julien Slowik (1w9 sp/so)-Full detachment of reality and embraces the worst traits of the sp1. He choses to make his own personal believes others problems and internalizes his rage. Eventually channeling it into self destruction.
Nina Sawyer (1w9 sp/so)-Her struggle to integrate towards 7 turns into a full downward spiral were identity and her perception of reality go out the window. Her need to be both the black swan and white swan end up tearing her sense of self apart.
Healthy Sexual 1
Tumblr media
Biscuit Krueger (1w2 sx/so)-Perfection through interpersonal connections seems to be her main drive. When she becomes Killua’s and Gon’s mentor she help them expand on their already developed powers. Using the base knowledge of their abilities so each of them could expand on them.
Batman (1w9 sx/sp)-His struggle to define himself as a symbol for Gotham can be seen as unhealthy sometimes. However I believe he is closer to a healthy person with his own personal struggles. However as time goes on in the comics we see a Bruce who is able to foster community and have excellent children.
Kate Sheffield (1w2 sx/so)- Strong sense of morality and a desire to see things change makes Kate a force to be reckoned with. She is able to express her anger and discomforts in ways that aren't damaging or hurtful to others.
Unhealthy Sexual 1
Tumblr media
Ra’s Al ghul (1w9 sx/so)-In look for a true successor he ends up exploiting both his  daughter and grandchild. His believe that there is a need for the league of assassins to make the world better place is also kind of disjointed.
Mona Wasserman (1w2 sx/sp)- I considered typing her as an SX2 however I believe her need to maintain Bo near her and constantly demean her fell more into SX1 traits. She is the good guy in the relationship and her overbearing nature is but a need. Even contracting the only person who he has had an emotional connection with.
Tywin Lannister (1w9 sx/sp)- Perfection through his children makes him hyper obsessive man who will deny reality and neglect those same children emotionally if it means it's what's “better” for them. His cruelty towards Tyrion knew no bounds.
