And like. Look at the cover. Know that the title translates to "Black Heart". Does it not give you at least a hint about the author's ethnicity?

Also. Do these people not. Read the blurb? Because even if you didn't already know the author (like I do), it literally tells you that she's a Black feminist activist, and this fictional story is largely based on her own life.

Like. Do these people never browse books and read what they're about? It's one thing to not pick up a book like this specifically (it warns of explicit traumatizing depictions), but others by non-white people from a different country maybe even, about whatever? A romance with a Black lead that views the story/genre through that lense?

Or a story about a Japanese woman who kills her husband after he gambled away all their money? Even if you don't know the cultural backdrop and about the problems with gambling in Japan, it's a thriller. If you like thrillers, why not pick one up that is set in a different country?

These "I don't know the author's ethnicity" people are just telling me that they truly have no interest in leaving their bubble and learning (or just reading) about people who are different from them

I’ve been sitting for many months on a meta about what Edwin did and did not know about Charles’s history, because I think Crystal was wildly misunderstanding what he meant due to cultural mismatch, and I’m very curious as to what he did mean. I’ve been sitting on it because I’m not best pleased with how it’s come out but whatever here it is anyway

To start with: Crystal thinks Edwin calling Charles’s dad “rough” is a dismissal and reflects a misunderstanding of the physical facts of the situation. I do not. Crystal’s missing Edwin’s cultural context here. In Edwin’s time, extremely severe corporal punishment was completely normalized. Edwin would unquestionably have experienced it; that’s not headcanon, it’s just historical fact. In Edwin’s cultural context, a parent being “rough” - so violent/out-of-control it goes past even that level of normalized beating to be namably unusual - is… A Lot. If anything, what he’s picturing is, on a purely physical level, more extreme than what we actually see happening to Charles.

I also don’t really think he’s missed the psychological effects, either (as Crystal assumes he has), though this one’s more nebulous. He’s very careful, with how he expresses anger and disapproval around Charles; Charles is the one who explicitly says he avoids being visibly angry around Edwin, but we see Edwin being careful about it, too. Edwin gets harmlessly snippy about meaningless things, and trusts Charles won’t take it to heart, yeah (We have the same left!). But when there’s, like, actually a problem?

Charles smashed a very important magical item and Edwin just calmly said “Time for another discussion on your impetuous behavior.” Which is disapproving, yeah, but imagine what he’d’ve said if it were Crystal; and it is notably less disapproving (and less loud/emotional) than when Charles does things that are much less significant, suggesting Edwin has deliberately downshifted because they’re now in territory where he risks Charles taking him seriously.

Charles murders someone, brutally, while she isn’t fighting back, with, as far as Edwin knows, minimal provocation, and Edwin’s reaction is a careful, quiet, “Charles, that was… extreme.” Which, again, is negative, or at least Charles heard it as such, but it’s also so much less negative than it could have been. Than, frankly, it would be reasonable for it to have been.

The one time we see Edwin actually yell at Charles - when he’s deeply re-traumatized, is so worried about Charles he’s 90% out of his mind from that alone, and the other 10% from everything else, has lost almost all of his filters - he says what Charles did, putting himself in danger, is “so fucking stupid it’s unbelievable” (not Charles, incidentally, but what Charles did) and then immediately apologizes. He’s barely coherent and he takes about 15 seconds to start apologizing sincerely for having yelled at Charles.

Which is all one specific narrow thing, yeah. But, like, it shows something, you know? And what it shows is that Edwin is careful, with Charles. Not just instinctively kind and gentle in general, but protectively careful… in a way that specifically reflects a knowledge that Charles has certain Issues.

(Remember when he introduced himself with “I shan’t hurt you”, because he could tell Charles was afraid, even in the first few seconds? He’s had a lot of time, since then, to learn the exact shape of Charles’s fear.)

So what is Edwin missing, then? My best answer is that he’s missing Charles’s - and even more so Crystal’s - cultural context. He’s missing “we’re allowed to admit this isn’t okay now, we’re allowed to say how much it hurts, how much it fucks you up”. He’s missing not the physical facts of the matter; not even the emotional damage therefrom; but the fact that these things aren’t normal anymore. That you’re allowed to call this “abuse” instead of “discipline”.

His failure to make a connection in the Devlin house was because even if he’s started to adjust to modern expectations of child-rearing (though given that he still believes in hysteria, that may be giving him a bit too much credit) he still, on an instinctive level, doesn’t find this so unusual that it occurs to him Charles might make a specific mental association.

Like, yeah, Mr. Devlin axe-murdered his family and that’s a bit odd even for 1916 (though I will note filicide being blanketly illegal is more recent than you’d think). But Mr. Rowland didn’t axe-murder his family; the connection Charles is making isn’t through the act, it’s through the fact of abuse/control, and that would not ping as memorable to Edwin.

…anyway, as I said, I don’t really like how this meta ended up, tbh, largely because I don’t feel like I can convey well what I think Edwin did learn (the effect of differing cultural context) without talking about some very extreme topics that I do not want to address here. But, like -

TL;DR:

“Rough” means something different to Edwin than to Crystal (and most of the audience). Edwin almost definitely knew Charles was badly physically abused; this was not new information. He very probably knew Charles was psychologically affected by it; this was unlikely new information. The new information Crystal gave him was the cultural context of that abuse.

It is criminal that this show was cut short because there is so much to explore in the relationship between Splinter and his sons. Particularly, it's one thing for a neglectful parent to recognize their faults and verbally commit to doing better, but an entirely separate thing to put doing better into practice.

In the situation with Leo and Raph, Splinter had an awakening both in regards to how much pressure leadership placed on his eldest, and how capable and clever Leo truly is under that devil-may-care jester persona. He sees what they could become, the net positive in both their development that would come as a payoff from switching the leadership role. Maturity for Leo, breathing space/self discovery for Raphael.

The problem is that Splinter is lacking in the guidance department. He was never given guidance beyond a list of dictations and duties that he rebelled against, and the life he lived after rebelling was either incredibly shallow and self-centered or deeply traumatic. And we see the results of that lack play out in the movie.

He throws leadership onto Leo, but we never see Splinter step up to teach him how to be an effective leader. How to communicate with his team, and how to think through consequences. We never see him working to lift Leo's confidence, build Leo's problem-solving skills, or even just ask Leo what he thinks/feels/wants. He's chucked his baby blue into the deep end before teaching him to swim and then gets frustrated that he's flailing and failing to succeed.

On Raphs end, all of the above-mentioned lack of support ends up once again falling on him. And lord help him, Raph tries to step up as he always does. But in trying to step up into the mentor role, Raph unknowingly has to step out of his role as a brother. There's no space for support when he's constantly nagging Leo to communicate, no time for vulnerability or trust to form when every conversation becomes a long lecture of everything Leo is doing wrong. There's no time for Raph to step back and reflect on his own emotions or thoughts, to consider what he needs, because he is constantly terrified for his little brother's safety.

And Splinter doesn't know how to step in and proactively help. In this scene, he tells them "You are a team... you are brothers" as though that alone should be sufficient to solve all their problems. He's frustrated by them and disapproves that their bickering has devolved to the point that they are coming to blows with each other.

But when the moment comes for him to step up and lead by example, he backs out. Perhaps because he feels inadequate to provide, he falls back on an old coping mechanism (the TV) and leaves two of his sons hurting and his other two sons to clean up the messy aftermath. And you can see the effect it has on all four of them. The defeated slump of Leo's shoulders, Raph's guilty expression, Donnie's quiet resignation, and Mikey's palpable disappointment.

Splinters role gets shuffled to the background once Casey Jr arrives and the threat of the Krang becomes the focus, but if they ever do bring the show back, I hope they focus on the repercussions of it and show him not only recognizing his failure but also him putting in the work to learn and actively be better for his sons.

Not sure if you’ve answered this in the past, but in the Drake’s Spoiled Brat, what age does Tim think of himself as? Because physically, yeah, he’s a 17 year old and his mind, body, and emotions are all probably at the developmental level of a 17 year old. A traumatized one to be sure, but still a 17 year old. So he probably processes emotions in the way a 17 year old would. But he also has memories from a past timeline where he definitely made it to adulthood. Which combined with the memories from this timeline would give him like… late 30’s to early 40’s years worth of memories? Assuming I got numbers correct. So does that impact the age he thinks of himself as, or does he disconnect from it by knowing that objectively, those are very much his memories, but they feel more like someone else’s due to the time travel shenanigans?

Tim both feels and is seventeen. BUT it's in in the same way Konner is seventeen- just to the opposite extreme.

Think of it like a neverending deja vu and mandela effect of memories. Some feel alarmingly famliar as the same song and dance again- but others? They feel so foreign and wrong to what he knows is "true" but it never was

Its not a constant "hes aware of 30+ years of existance" since both his body and mind reset- it was just wisps and chunks of memories that remained

so, the slight difference in colors DOES matter. I thought they were just like, time-related or maybe changed based on if powers were being used, but no. interestingly we have seen both these designs in 3d/canon - the gray one in the trailers and the blue/yellow one in episode 3.

i think it's safe to say that at least in some way, Blue and Gray are two different entities, but a ton of other Crazy Director Li Bullshit is totally possible alongside this.

he's got some kind of themes with duality. yk, just maybe. easiest answer is that "oh he's got an evil half" but that seems too straightforwards? i find it really interesting that in ep.3, his "nemesis" that firm man kills on accident looks like him! presumably on purpose for some aesthetic reason.

Section 1: the random guy from the trailer!

off the new episode preview, it seems like the pov we follow is gonna be some guy who also becomes e-soul, somewhat similar to nice. most likely, he becomes Blue E-soul.

in episode 3, Firm Man is called to help out E-soul who is listed with "mighty glory" despite him being with Treeman. so organizations do work together to some extent? put a pin in this!

he looks like such a loser... and notably he has all his limbs intact whereas gray e-soul has fake arm(s?).

we get a good bit of his backstory:

Gray E-soul probably saved him - while being incredibly sus and murdery.

so, no way to know if this guy even LIKES e-soul. he either idolizes him or he's traumatized.

He's got a friendship with some little kid who looks like Lin Ling! they could be brothers - maybe this is the answer to what happened to Lin Ling's family after he faked his death? this would also affect L0 in hindsight because he's not just a "normal guy". this could also just be some other kid.

Section 2: OG E-soul

straight-up, Gray E-Soul is probably old. hella old. maybe even pre-commission, whatever the "commission" is. he's described as a "hero of legend".

Gray E-soul seems morally gray as well, seen by how he's totally killing those guys in front of a child. which, TOTALLY made me instantly think: what if Gray E-soul isn't even an actual hero (unlikely) but instead just Blue E-soul's inspiration. OR vice-versa. maybe his methods are really brutal/controversial. maybe he's retiring.

something related to this might be the cause of this line:

E-soul also has associations with the cross! i'm not religious and I don't know what that symbolizes, but it did set off analysis alarm bells.

ALSO. this could be interpreted heavily as a cross, but i see it more as a four-point star thingy. which idk what that could mean on it's own, except i dont have to because

X is already associated with this! and also, associated with THIS GUY, who e-soul fights in the pv!

Section 3: Zero + Singularity Theory

I'll call him Zero because that's the only name we got. it's possible "gray e-soul" is actually Zero and blue e-soul is e-soul but... idk doubt it. this guy has a ton of religious imagery. loads. they seem to be like... black hole related?

Zero seems to have this false savior kind of vibe in their creepy human form. in general, they seem a lot more large-scale + cosmic than anyone we've seen so far (except X, maybe?)

the first concept I thought of was the technological singularity.

this could be relevant because E-soul is literally like. electric and cyborg, but also! A singularity is the thing we theorize to be at the center of a black hole.

the singularity is increasingly talked about especially regarding AI, and the point where AI becomes self-sufficient/aware. This could be really juicy commentary, and personal character angst for og e-soul if he ends up not being totally organic and super duper old.

The singularity could be good, or bad. paired with E-soul's duality theme, and X's weird 1 frame cutaway with this guy in the opening, well.

X can break the fourth wall. for a character in a story, isn't awareness kind of like the Ultimate Knowledge? ultimate intelligence - like a singularity. whoever holds the title of X gets stronger and stronger every year, with the popularity of Heroes increasing and people constantly getting stronger. I think this is the cycle where X has reached a turning point.

X is also constantly seen on electric billboards and drinking his drinks lmfao. that theory where he's a mascot, omg i can't find it in all the posts but credit to that person @warabito!! it's been living in my head rent free. if X is a created hero that would certainly fit this!! literal singularity.

explosions - Zero, but also the sudden explosion in trust value for X.

Meanwhile, I think Zero is the reason for the commission. X and Zero might be associated because they are narrative foils? @awkwardambivert789 said that X could want to tear down the Hero system. in this way -wanting to destroy heroes- they could be similar! also Zero is eclipse associated and dark, while X is all white

this is total speculation atp, but I think that Gray E-soul could be the reason for the system as we know it in some shape or form. when people say "we're all counting on you, E-soul" in the PV, I think that's a singular, utterly extraordinary instance where E-soul gets insanely powerful for one moment to defeat somebody outside his weight class. He prevents the singularity (using a four-point star thing!!), but is also a shining example that people can point to for the Trust Value system. again total speculation though.

Section 4: Speculation on Blue vs. Gray

I think this is a case where Gray E-soul is alive, but retired. like, maybe this is an instance where people KNOW Blue is Not The Same as Gray. This would explain why a supposed "legend" is not X but instead #9 below a dog with a hat 💀

Director Li does this thing where he really, REALLY likes to withhold information and mislead the viewer (very rarely to the detriment of the material, but often just makes it really nail-biting and hooks you to the next episode. Link Click is very similar!). this is where what we know presents LOTS of interesting directions, but no concrete, probable paths.

Maybe E-Soul did it in some part because they know Lin Ling. Maybe this is because the Treeman boss said he'd handle the Moon problem, and sent both a hero to publicly rescue Moon AND a hero to straight up make her Actually Dead since Mighty Glory has been shown to collaborate with Treeman.

The Treeman boss is like. totally part of Spotlight right...? maybe that's how they found Moon, like w/ the power of fear the same way they found Enlighter's reddit cave

maybe if we take E-Soul's PV at face value, then Blue and Gray are enemies! it could be that Gray sees Blue as their personal demon or something like that, seeing how Blue makes Gray's modern armor crack. fear of replacement, or Gray doesn't like the kind of person Blue is?

It's clear that while Saxon feels a degree of trauma over the brojob and everything around it, Lochlan also feels like he wouldn't have done it without Saxon's influence. He wouldn't have done it without Saxon's constant hypersexual, inappropriate behavior and taking advantage of Lochlan's people pleasing impulses (which Saxon has been aware of the whole time 🤢). This is Moral Injury.

"But dude, they all have like husbands, or boyfriends," is met with "Dude, no... they're thirsty for some young fucking cum."

"But mom and dad are right there," is met with "They don't care."

"But what if this life is just a test," is met with "No... what?"

Lochlan is a little wet sponge, but he has a moral framework already. A set of baby ethics, if you will. And Saxon knocks it down like a kid playing with blocks. He couldn't be less impressed, and in fact it annoys him, just like all of Lochlan's boundaries annoy him. So he is constantly pressuring Lochlan to do things he finds morally wrong, and Saxon sees nothing untoward about this.

Grooming aside, Saxon failing to be a good influence, to establish and maintain boundaries, to teach Lochlan right from wrong, to have his brother's back... that can all be traumatic too. Especially when their parents are not good at any of these things either. Lochlan is probably emotionally codependent with Saxon and Piper. He probably sees them as surrogate parents. No someone like Saxon can't be expected to step into that role seamlessly. But he does verbally assent to "look out for [his] brother." He does position himself in an explicit teacher/mentor role.

When he fails to live up responsibly to these roles, that can cause trauma in someone who trusts him unconditionally, to the point that Lochlan willingly places his own desires in Saxon's hands "but what do I want, I guess?" it really makes me laugh when people think Lochlan could ever have a fraction of the power over Saxon that Saxon has over him. Thank you for making me laugh in these times.

Finding out your brother enjoys being worshipped by you and has no problem with you bending over backwards to please him (but only in the ways he approves of and he sends mixed signals about those ways and also blurs those lines himself)? Becoming self aware that he will never respect your boundaries but expects you to respect his? Putting the pieces together that he won't even give you the dignity of calling you out when you made a mistake, that's how deeply he infantilizes you which should make the sexual component of all this so much worse? That can all be traumatizing.

"Why did you do it?" normally shouldn't be answered with "Why did you want it?" but in this case, yeah? Why did Saxon want it? Why was he so unsubtle about it that someone as clueless as Lochlan could pick up on it? Why did he at no point stop and think instead of trying to vicariously top the twink? Why did he know that Lochlan "worships" him and why was he fully content to override his boundaries and disregard whatever moral framework he had for himself? Why did he do everything he did, and why only after he receives unwanted sexual attention does Saxon realize how fucked up this all was?

I see so many people brush off questioning Saxon's role in that sequence with "Um he was clearly asleep, clearly he was too intoxicated to consent, wow so because he doesn't push Lochlan's hand away he deserves to be assaulted?" they don't understand the point. We are shown Saxon indulging in his fantasies about Lochlan. He wants him, and always has.

Failing to do anything to stop the brojob was part of the larger framework of sexual abuse he was enacting on Lochlan. He fucked up, plain and simple. Trying to make Lochlan feel like the perpetrator is part of the narcissism, it's part of his plan to avoid accountability. He doesn't even blame Lochlan, because he thinks Lochlan is incapable of doing anything for himself, or making any decisions by himself. That's not a sign that he's a good brother either. That's a sign that he views Lochlan this way, and is comfortable sexualizing him anyway? He thinks Lochlan is a child and is comfortable pimping him out to women well into their 30s and tells him to his face that that's a good thing?

He views Lochlan as a repressed asexual neurotic virgin and his solution is to grab his own dick in public, talk to him about porn when he's obviously uncomfortable, and then masturbate in front of him??

And yeah, normally Saxon would unambiguously be a victim if someone grabbed his dick without asking. But I really want to know why he, at a busted ass looking 26, didn't do more to create space (physical and sexual) between himself and his 18 year old brother who was too sexually inexperienced to realize that gold digging models could cheat on their ugly old gross boyfriends. I think Mike White made Lochlan 18 to avoid any truly dicey implications, but like, from the writing and the acting, it's not a surprise so many people (even after his age is revealed) kept saying "Wait how old is this kid? I'm uncomfortable..."

I am obsessed with how this fandom adultifies Lochlan at every turn, even though he is deliberately framed to be as naïve and pathetic as possible. They think Saxon is just a smol been but because Lochlan was confirmed to have turned 18 mere weeks ago, he simply can't be a victim. There's a real phenomenon of sympathy for people like Lochlan dissipating the older they get. If he were a completely hapless victim, they'd expect him to "be a man," and do something about it.

But it's not just that is it? Because Lochlan likes it. He likes it so much he gives Saxon a hand job. Oops, it's Saxon who doesn't like it. Was the innocent victim really the predator the entire time?

It was never lost on me that the entire burden of wrongdoing is placed on Lochlan, just for being queer coded. Like, everyone thought "He wants it!" when he stared at Saxon in the first episode. This was not questioned. Anyone attempting to argue otherwise was met with "Um how do you stare at your brother when he changes in front of you?" But no one was willing to question why Saxon felt so comfortable being naked in front of his brother in the first place? No one was willing to question what Saxon's intentions were even though it was fucking obvious.

Lochlan wanted Saxon the entire time, but Saxon having explicit sexual fantasies about Lochlan during his flashback is not proof that he wanted Lochlan too, or that he wanted the handjob specifically? It's not just about age, it's queerness. The burden of queerness itself falls solely on Lochlan, and therefore the burden of wrongdoing. And because he's the QUEER he must a) want to be groomed, and b) is to blame for being successfully groomed and making his own groomer feel bad after touching his dick.

Why I No Longer Support Anton Morrow Or Blessed Be The Wicked

Okay, we're finally doing this. As always: Do NOT harass anyone involved. This is not what this post is for.

So, this has been a long time coming. I know I keep repeatedly saying that I don’t wanna cause drama but at this point? It’s not even a drama anymore. There’s a glaring issue that’s been circulating the fandom for a while, and up until now, people have either been ignoring it completely or are too scared to say anything at all — which is understandable. I’m frankly scared to be finally making this post. But with most of the fandom beginning to speak up on this, now is a better time than ever. 

You’ve all most likely seen my latest, very angry, Jeff rant post, and some of you might have already put together as to who it was about: Anton Morrow, the creator of Blessed be the Wicked.

If any of you remember the whole “mistype” situation that happened in 2024 revolving around BBTW, you already know I have gotten into a bit of a spat with him before. Then it was all cleared up, and we were chill. But now, with all that’s been happening, I’m starting to question that situation as well.

When it comes to creepypasta, you gotta acknowledge and respect both sides of the fandom, because more often than not, they tie together. Anton, however, doesn’t do this at all, creating a space where people feel unsafe and uncomfortable like they have to walk on eggshells. 

We are not mad at the fact that you are trying to make BBTW horrifying, grotesque, and realistic. In fact, a LOT of people were hyped for your project. No, we’re mad that you have to be an asshole about it. Shaming anything that doesn’t fit into your view of what a character SHOULD be, hating on the fandom way more than you claim to love it, villainizing characters that should not be villainized, like Jane, who’s a VICTIM of Jeff, not doing proper research (apparently not knowing that Clockwork was an SA victim despite her being your “favorite character”), being a fucking hypocrite (hating shock value yet using it in your work as well), and most of all, claiming to be bringing back the old roots of Creepypasta when you don’t even understand or know what those roots are. 

This fandom has ALWAYS been cringy, weird, and unrealistic. I mean, we have a tall faceless man in the woods, a magical black and white clown, and a guy whose skin turned completely white because of BLEACH. This fandom was never realistic! 

You can only use the “I mistyped” or “you all misunderstood me” excuse so many times.

Are you telling me you didn’t mean ANY of this?

Like, if I recall, David Near’s, MBK’s, Pastra’s, AND Ekatlani’s Jeff’s are NOT soft boys at all. But you refuse to acknowledge that, don’t you? Because even if they are closer to what you claim to be looking for within a Jeff rewrite, you still hate them because they weren’t what YOU THINK the character could be. 

But somehow, that’s not even the worst part. No, the worst thing has to be what you’ve done to Leech. Characters change, I understand that. My personal gripe with her not being the character I initially was excited for anymore is just my personal bias. What’s NOT, however, is the relationship you’ve put her in with Tyrant. 

Now, I’m all for toxic relationships. I’ve written them myself, but this? This is straight-up fucking grooming. It’s non-consensual, and you straight-up called Tyrant PREDATORY. 

And the fact that you tried to edit your post to hide what you said first tells me all I need to know.

Not to mention, you continuously like to bring up how much YOUNGER she is than the other two (Context: She's in a poly relationship with Tyrant and a character named Marc)

This goes past a toxic relationship, this is straight up fucking CREEPY. You admit that Tyrant is using his VICTIM, cause that’s what she fucking is, as a way to feel like he’s not all the negative, that “he deserves love.” No. Just no. 

I’m disappointed. Tired, angry, and disappointed. I thought you were a cool guy, Anton. I thought all of you were cool. I was genuinely excited for Blessed Be The Wicked, as I’m sure a lot of the fandom was. But you showed your true colors the moment your project began to get popular.

SOTR SPOILERS

What if Burdock survived but Prim still got reaped and so Katniss still volunteered.

So now he has to face his old best friend who has never sent back a kid in 24 years. He has to face his best friend in order to try and save his daughter.

And Haymitch does it. He brings her AND Peeta back. So now Burdock has a traumatized teenager in the exact same situation as Haymitch once was and he was no idea what to do.

Now he lives in the Victors Village and sees Haymitch so often that he can’t help but miss him. Peeta and Katniss force family dinners so they have to see each other.

Katniss being in the same situation as 16 Haymitch with Snow coming over to threaten to their family and Burdock finally understands why Haymitch drove them away.

Katniss and Haymitch bonding because he knows the horrors she’s been through and she finally has the uncle she was meant to have.

Haymitch and Brudock are family again.

And somehow, despite everything. It all works out.

I don't know why RTD has become suddenly interested in letting the audience know he's an ally to disabled people but he's not great at it. There's of course the issues with Shirley Bingham in the specials which I've talked about before, but in this latest episode he's tried his hand at a deaf character, and it's... I had problems with it.

First of all, the way the Doctor and Belinda comforted her felt condescending. Compared to how the Doctor comforts Belinda or the characters in the last ep it's more infantilised imo.

There's also how sign is portrayed. Saying "Signing still makes some people paranoid" when she's a suspect in a murder case is not the time to make that point, of course everyone wants to know what she's saying. Of course they're paranoid, everyone else is dead.

And the bit about how nurses have to sign by law in the future and that should be the case in the present is so stupid. Abled people don't understand signing is a language, not just a fun code you can learn in a few weeks. A whole language. You can't expect every nurse and doctor to be multilingual, especially in a future with immediate translation tech. And there is more than one sign language. Sure you know BSL, now what about all the other human sign languages, let alone alien ones? What people are entitled to is an interpreter. And instead of portraying something actually actionable, RTD is just doing the same shit of portraying sign as "not a real language" by acting like anyone can just learn it easy. I'll say it, it's virtue signalling. The way sign is portrayed is virtue signalling.

But sure, we can grandstand about sign, but most of the time the Doctor and co still had the auto subtitle tech off unless they were directly talking to her, leaving Aliss unable to understand them most of the time. Allis would be able to understand everything they were openly saying about her if she were hearing, but because she's deaf they don't extend that right to her. These aren't private conversations, they just decided to talk about her when she's terrified and traumatized and under threat of being shot at any time and leave her in the dark. RTD once again doesn't care about disabled people or accessibility while pretending he does.

Nesta being ‘cruel’ literally never happens. Mean, sure. But some of you need to open a dictionary and find what cruel actually means. Nesta’s mean moments and comments have been provoked 99% of the time. No one respects her or her boundaries.

Feyre, on the other hand, is arrogant and selfish and a lot of readers fail to see it. She gets mad at people, more specifically Nesta, because she doesn’t get what she wants.

Feyre has been neglected by her mother, yes absolutely. But when we look at her relationship with her father and the way she acts today, I have a theory that her childhood wasn’t just neglectful. It was actually permissive !

She was allowed to ask questions about business. She never had the pressure to marry. She could play outside as much as she wanted. If her sisters had tutors, then so did she.

Because if think about it, there is no reason why an 11 year old couldn’t read, when she was still wealthy at the time. Feyre probably didn’t want to attend those lessons and was allowed not to.

And all of that is translated in her behavior today. No one tells Feyre no, even her father gets brushed off when he does. She always gets her way and does whatever she wants. And since she is now mated to someone who acts like the world revolves around her, it’s not going to change.

When you really look at it, the only person who’s ever told her no without repercussions is Elain. Because Elain was just as spoiled and she says no, it means no.

Then we have Nesta. And when Nesta says no, it’s no… for now. Deep down, Feyre knows it. That’s why she pushes her sister and fights with her so much.

Everyone has to live according to Feyre’s needs and desires. Rhys even orders them to.

Nesta just has to bend to the rules.

It’s ‘you’re my sister’ when it comes to getting Nesta to move into Feyre’s house or coming to Solstice. But it’s never ‘she’s my sister’ to the friends who keep insulting and even threatening Nesta in front of Feyre. And what does that say about Feyre as a sister?

It’s all the noticing Mor and Cassian’s weird relationship. Witnessing first hand them exchanging underwear in front of Nesta and ignoring it and then forcing Nesta to live with a man she clearly said she wanted nothing to do with. Something Feyre would never force Elain to do.

And while I’m on it. How about Lucien too? Feyre is so self-centered, she doesn’t even notice that Lucien before UTM and after are two different people. That he is traumatized. But in ACOMAF she was all ‘boo-hoo’ you gave up on me.

Lucien helped her during her first trial and got whipped for it. Still, he risked his life coming to her cell and she had the audacity to complain he was late. To put the blame for the bargain SHE accepted on him. And then he was used as bait for the second trial.

He tried to talking ti Tamlin and he brought Feyre to one of the villages where she noticed first hand that people didn’t want her help.

But if it doesn’t fit her rhetoric, then she points the finger at others. And that makes her validly upset?

She drags Lucien around like a pet and he also gets bullied by the NC while she says nothing and enjoys the show.

I suppose that’s the thing with 1st person pov, readers gets fooled by one person’s opinion and don’t look at the bigger picture.

Nesta was downright cruel? Based on which part of the book? Apart from the ones where Feyre or Cassian make assumptions about her that she proved wrong over and over again.

Cruel to who ?

Rhysand ? He’s the one who has repeatedly threatened her and the worst she said about him was that he was an arrogant and preening asshole.

Morrigan ? She’s the one who threatened Nesta for merely asking where Cassian was. Who brushed her off when she tried to visit his tent. Who told her she would have chosen to dump her in the human lands. All while Nesta just stood/sat there not responding.

Amren? You want to talk about cruelty, point the finger at the Night Court’s second. For how she speaks not only to Nesta, but to everyone else.

Cassian? She was never mean enough. And canonically, Nesta had only ever reduced him to his birth in a bonus chapter from book 2. You want to know what happens canonically? Cassian pushes her boudaries, insults her at times and she ignores him, gives him a look or even leaves the room. And then he assumes what she is thinking which, after reading her point of view you’d know, he is always very wrong about. What happens canonically is Cassian getting mad at Nesta because he feels entitled to her because of a stupid mating bond.

As for Elain and Feyre, THEY made Nesta’s trauma about themselves. They decided to act in a way that wasn’t helpful to Nesta but to them.

They had to ask themselves whether or not to help Nesta at the end of ACOWAR (Feyre was no, btw). They chose to be mad at her for not coming around the house more often, not coming to dinner (Elain didn’t attend any dinners until after the war) but not seeing that Nesta only agreed/ wanted to see them and not the IC (valid reasons listed above).

Feyre thought that Nesta saying she was at taverns for the music was an excuse. Elain didn’t think to mention Nesta’s passion for dancing until a year and a half after she’d begun destroying herself. Feyre said she’d forgotten about this (because once again, it does nothing for her so why would she remember).

Just like she forgot about her sister’s fear of baths. Just like she forgot Nesta was the one who tried to rescue her but still commented that her sister would only cross the wall for Elain.

Feyre crying upon hearing the bill was heartbreaking, sure. No one wants to hear about someone you love destroying themselves. But she is at fault for a lot of things and this post is already long enough.

Nesta gets mad at people who are disrespectful to her. Feyre gets mad at people for not doing what she wants. That’s the difference, sweetheart !

i have seen people saying the relation haymitch and lenore dove have is unhealthy and i mean... that’s kind of the point? first, they are teenagers and while teenagers can have great relationships, they are not going to be entirely healthy. then, him saying he won’t ever get over her: yes, it is unhealthy and for me, that’s exactly the point. the point isn’t that lenore dove is his soulmate or a bullshit like that. the point is that haymitch lost three of the people he loved the most after going through one of the most traumatic thing you can imagine, where he also lost people he loved. he does not have the place to grieve. he does not have the ability to process his feelings. he just feels incredibly guilty and what his teenager mind decided to do was to hold on to lenore dove. by swearing to love only her, he is swearing to never forget all the people he lost. he has not healed in the epilogue; he can just begin to do that.

so the point isn’t if it is healthy or not, because we know it isn’t. but it isn’t haymitch or lenore dove's fault. because they were teenagers and ultimately, how can a relationship be healthy in a world where the hunger games exist?

I have a silly CRACK AU where morro instead of possessing Lloyd he just possesses a cat and gets himself adopted by the ninja just to make Wu and Lloyd’s life miserable undercover. All the ninja love him except for Lloyd and Wu ofc, who are constantly getting scratched, having their stuff scratched, broken, and even shat or pissed on. And yeah, morro also uses his powers to fucking haunt them too and which confused Wu to no end because either morro possessed the cat (which is correct) or the cat is the next elemental master of wind . Lloyd ofc thinks Wu is slowly going insane after he told him this.

All the other ninja think the cats wind powers are awesome tho and since they literally have a lightning chicken I don’t think they’d be too shocked at a wind cat. Ofc they call morro “windy” or some shit (to morros dismay).

Although morro wasn’t planning to nor expecting to become attached to any of the ninja or even enjoy their company sm…he ofc did overtime)

Nya (like I said. She found him with Cole so she’s one of the ones that take care of him the most so he’s naturally more attached. But also he really likes of soothing and caring she is at times. Finds her very entertaining finds her overall vibe great. Only reason she’s below Cole is that she’s louder than him and is a more hot headed which can drive him away from her sometimes. But overall he actually thinks she’s great)

Lloyd (again. Obvious. Only reason he’s below Wu is because morro subconsciously does still love Wu deep down and actually know him. While Lloyd he’s got no reason to like him. At least at first…)

Ofc over time morro does begin to like everyone more and more. Even his least favorites! Hell this is actually a way for morro to slowly see Wu, and mainly Lloyd’s side. See how Lloyd struggled with the responsibility of being the green ninja. How heavy it weighs in him, and he’s able to actually drastically calm down and let go of his obsession for the green ninja when he’s able to see Lloyd’s experience up close. Since he’s a cat they don’t really think too much of his presence in personal or intimate moments. Só morros probably walked into Lloyd crying or talking to himself, or even Lloyd finding himself venting to morro thinking he’s just venting to the cat that doesn’t understand anything he’s saying.

Eventually morro DOES unposses the cat. (The cats ok and not traumatized. No domt think ab it too hard let’s just say the cats fine and they keep him) but yeah. This happens around a year or so of staying with the ninja? Which is a WHOLE bunch but can u blame him? It’s a really awkward situation to suddenly reveal who he was all along. It was obviously. A massive shock. Like. Nya faints. It’s a very very awkward situation ofc. Especially because during his time as a cat he’s come across a lot of embarrassing situations for the ninja (Kai for one would consalty vent to him or just talk about random bullshit to him when no one was watching. Hes so cringe. Hes also walked into Jay singing. Jay. Does not sing well. And other stupid shit)

Anyways he stays with them for the rest of time and they love happily ever after hurray
