Not sure if you’ve answered this in the past, but in the Drake’s Spoiled Brat, what age does Tim think of himself as? Because physically, yeah, he’s a 17 year old and his mind, body, and emotions are all probably at the developmental level of a 17 year old. A traumatized one to be sure, but still a 17 year old. So he probably processes emotions in the way a 17 year old would. But he also has memories from a past timeline where he definitely made it to adulthood. Which combined with the memories from this timeline would give him like… late 30’s to early 40’s years worth of memories? Assuming I got numbers correct. So does that impact the age he thinks of himself as, or does he disconnect from it by knowing that objectively, those are very much his memories, but they feel more like someone else’s due to the time travel shenanigans?
Tim both feels and is seventeen. BUT it's in in the same way Konner is seventeen- just to the opposite extreme.
Think of it like a neverending deja vu and mandela effect of memories. Some feel alarmingly famliar as the same song and dance again- but others? They feel so foreign and wrong to what he knows is "true" but it never was
Its not a constant "hes aware of 30+ years of existance" since both his body and mind reset- it was just wisps and chunks of memories that remained
#its complicated#but to Tim#hes the equivilent#of like an oracle posessed by an elder being#does he KNOW what does not exist?#yes#but hes still seventeen#aka its a handwave#the drakes spoiled brat#tim drake#sunny asks#trash tim au#ty for the ask!!#conner kent#kon el#timkon#(a lil :)

What kind of murderer do you fancy Alastor as back on earth? (Forgive me this is a bit long, I started to ramble dkdkgk)
I tend to see it get handwaved once we're in hell, since anyone Alastor tenderizes just comes back later anyways, but there's a couple of different Flavors I'll see people give Alastor specifically for his serial killing back on earth.
The one I see most often is people giving him a moral code he uses to conduct Wholesome™ murders back on earth. Abusers, racists, door-to-door salesmen. If the law wasn't doing its job (or more accurately, working as intended), then Alastor provided REAL justice. This flavor tends to frame it less as Alastor killing cuz he wants to and more like a hero using the power of incredible violence out of necessity. Though sometimes I'll see him killing as a hobby, he just keeps to this strict moral code about it
Just as common, though slightly less I think, he's definitely killing for funsies, but has a moral code telling him who's off limits. He avoids women and children, and hilariously good people are often safe, but everyone else is fair game. If you're a regular dude who's like, fine I guess, you are DEFINITELY still on the menu
Least common flavor is the "if you're in reach of a sticky hand and I can get away with it, you're on the hit list." This I've observed tends to be saved for fics where Alastor's the antagonist or we're going full villain-mode and reveling in the moral bankruptcy XD
There's definitely all sorts of in-between flavors, but these are the ones I see pop up most often lol. SO! I was curious if you had any headcanons or preferences over what kind of serial killing Alastor did topside :3
I can definitely understand the appeal of the vigilante justice route, but I absolutely have an affinity for an Alastor who killed for shits and giggles and wasn't TOO concerned with who's on the other side of that knife. Love me a bitch who's done some unethical shit for absolutely no reason (人 •ᴗ•) adds SPICE, y'know XD
I like to go for a fourth option! >:D I like to think that Alastor does have a moral code for killing, but that it basically amounts to "people I don't like."
There are so many stories out there of serial killers targeting women who look like their mom because they have mommy issues; I think Alastor should get to have the opposite. He kills wealthy, powerful, probably-white men because he has daddy issues and as a result that is the exact kind of man that, just, pisses him off to a murderous extent. He would never hurt a lady! Not because women can do no wrong in his eyes, but because he has a particular image of himself and that would be ungentlemanly. Any Vox-alike, however...
At the same time, I don't think he in any way acted with the intent of being a vigilante for any true justice. Like, maybe he does go out of his way sometimes to find a particularly heinous individual, but that's not really for the greater good. It's an excuse to satisfy his desire to put a wealthy man in his place - on the wrong side of the grass. And if it's a week when he sees that someone was being a little sleazy around Mimzy, or an obnoxious guest on his radio show spoke to him with that particular tone... you don't have to be a rapist to be worthy of Alastor blowing off some steam.
Anyway, tl;dr, I like to think murder was his tension release and so he generally went for people he found annoying (aka. people like his father) under a thin veil of "the world is better off without them anyway." He probably had a lot of revenge fantasies about his dad and the next closest thing was grabbing a shotgun and chasing some sleazy suit-and-tie through the woods barefoot.
#ask#personal#moonshroooms#hazbin hotel#alastor#alastor meta#hazbin hotel meta#op meta#also thanks for that “door to door salesmen” under wholesome murders LMFAO I cracked up#anyway this was a delightful ask overall tysm <3

My take on TSOA and Miller in general just to put it out there is that I like her writing and the way she describes a kind of idyllic, kind of proto paradisial love, it is very evocative and shows a very elegant and intimate presentation of affection in a way that I can see why ppl resonate with it. And the difference between her and some works attempting to imitate that style is....pretty stark lol. I think the stories are executed well in what they are going for, it's just that what is being executed--the approach to comfort and romance, the particular fantasy and desire being displayed is not something that suits my personal tastes or general approach to stuff at all. And this doesn't have to do necessarily even with historical or mythological "accuracy" but more how the stories themselves work for me, as works within their own universes.
(Some of my breakdown of my opinions under the cut. It's not "hate" bc I genuinely do not hate or even really dislike the works. I'm more trying to express my personal thoughts, and I'm happy when I do read things that make me have a lot of thoughts. Also I talk once again about Til We Have Faces)
I think what gets me about both books and the depiction of the ideal love vs cruel world etc is that they are stories that want to believe in the Inherent Internal Goodness of the characters despite their actions and seeks to kind of justify them morally by emphasizing their vulnerability and kindness in the society and world. Which is fine and all, but one thing that I personally find interesting is when one can be interested in and sympathize with characters but also you can see the way they hold and exercise and exploit power over others. Especially in historical settings. I get that especially for more romantic genres, there's a need for some handwaving of this so we can focus on happiness and arc of the focus characters, but it feels honest to me if they're appropriately terrible and unlikeable at times.
I get the fantasy that's kind of being presented is wanting to Be Good and Just and Beloved and have a blissful harmonious familial dynamic but that being in conflict with The Society...if I had to sum it up its very much that 2010s Tumblr "We Deserve a Soft Epilogue my Love" sentiment. Along with a desire and and love for men who are gentle and well-meaning and who have primarily *emotional* reciprocating expression... I get it ...but once again it doesn't really dig deeply into the discomfort of certain dynamics aside from the more acceptable "we must identify with the protagonist so they must be the Persecuted, and those outside are the Persecutors" aka the Homophobic/Toxic Masculinity/Rapist archetypes who are out there, Other.
Personally, after I read and was thinking about these books for a while I pulled out my copy of Til We Have Faces and revisited that. Now, I'm biased bc it's one of my favorite books, but it strikes me a lot as an interesting book to read parallel to Circe. Both retelling a classic myth from the perspective of an antagonistic figure, where a female character is regarded as ugly and abject (and a big source of the abjection coming from an abusive, powerful father) and because of that abjection, find and take comfort in other sources of power and influence. The stories are very different of course in both intention, but I felt like one thing I liked about TWHF is how it allowed its main character, Psyche's ugly stepsister Orual, to both be a rejected figure and one who suffers, but also show well, the way she also exercises privileges and power over people. She is treated terribly, rejected from being gendered as a desirable "woman" and a woman's role bc of her ugliness (while also being denigrated for being a woman), she desires love she has been denied violently, and it's not surprising that she acts in unsympathetic and judgmental ways. Throughout all this, She is also a princess, and later queen who believes she is descended from the gods, and in her society controls and sometimes takes the lives of her slaves, servants, and subjects. There is no contradiction; one can be a victim and also Lord power over others that you do not even realize. Her story and emotional journey is very interesting because it does not shy away from this complexity and discomfort, and it presents a world that is (in that novel, fictitious) but feels very ancient and alien in its practices and values.
In contrast, the worlds of Circe, Circe is not really given a chance to exercise power uncomfortably over anyone in the same way--she does do her cool Witch Behaviors but they are always Justified Actions, against once again The External Persecutors --violent rapist men, or Heartless gods. We don't need to face the discomfort of what it would mean for her to say, have attendants or servants or have a kind of hierarchy or what it means to. She basically Bootstraps herself into her power and is the Underdog the whole time.
Similarly in tsoa, we are presented with the kind and peace-loving Patroclus who is once again the Persecuted (by this time the External Homophobic Mom lol), and it goes out of its way to show his empathy with the womensuffering and the pain at The Society that causes the forbidden love to be forbidden. And maybe all this dancing around makes it easier for the average person to identify with the main characters bc whew who would want to identify with anyone who does anything BAD or in any way right???
But the thing is for me is that maybe we DONT "deserve" the Soft Epilogue, maybe, like Orual, we as people are a mix of shitty and exploitative in ways we refuse to acknowledge, even as we are tormented by our own Persecutors and traumas and lack of power in our lives and etc. but that doesn't mean u can't desire and seek happiness or be someone interesting and worth empathizing with... Idk I'm just not interested in the artistic tendency to want the character to be The Good Person, and the way we show someone is The Good Person is to show How Persecuted They Are, to be worth understanding and loving.
That's just my insta-thoughts, may expand later (I would like to write a more in depth analysis of TWHF bc I'm tired of the Very Christian analysis being the only one) but yeah. Idk in how this translates to my fanwork or whatever I'm not interested in justifying anything anyone does or "defending" or attacking faves. I'm interested in what I'm interested in, and it won't always line up with everything else. But that's ok, there's always room for different things, I'm carving out my spot of fun here like everyone else.

More Mikan thoughts
(and additional musings around the reception of her narrative by fans)
Hmmm... I'm trying to piece my thoughts on this as coherently as i can, but i think a one of the main things that bother me with fanon characterisation, especially in sdr 2 is like....taking away character's agency? I think one of the most prevalent examples is Mikan; she's initially presented as this soft spoken, clumsy, sexy nurse archetype but even before her trial breakdown, even before most of her free time events we see that she's more than that, that there might be something more under the surface! If you ask her if she's fine after the part fall™ she clumsily laughs and looks happy and then there's the whole "I don't even care if they hate me as long as they pay attention to me" in her final fte and her connection to junko.
I think it's really illuminating how in some post canon fics they turn mikan back into her innocent flower personality when 1) she's literally the only one of the remnants that fully managed to get back her memories, aka literally enemy no1 in a potential awakening scenario and 2) they think the interesting stuff they did with her is "kodaka being a pervert again" or worse, victim blaming... Is it victim blaming when the victim doesn't act sugar, spice and everything nice twenty four seven? And they might have developed complex coping mechanisms?
Like, this is a really interesting thing to present and explore and yeah it is unfortunate that we as the player are forced to see mikan ass out every time, but that doesn't mean that we have to coyly talk around it or pretend like it doesn't exist especially taking into account everything about mikan in hindsight and the way that it's still used to say something about her character, no matter how unsavory it comes across (and the fact that fanservice is definitely a reason for including these scenes).
Like, i think with kotoko literally having a trigger word, it is indicative that the creators do at least some cursory research on that stuff beforehand, even if they don't stick the landing and do deserve criticism on certain decisions, like haiji or the bath scenes.
Like i do think sometimes it comes across as very "ahaaha, japanese people are creepy perverts that sexualise little girls!" When...."western"/american media engage in the sexualisation of teenagers often, like Riverdale or, even more egregiously, the cultural staying power of Pretty Little Liars and the Lolita movies, that paint relationships between underage girls and grown adult men as nothing more but forbidden romance (even if such relationships are actually the most accepted dynamic in most of the history of the world) (many essays have already stated that the Lolita book is trying to carry across the opposite message, and its more abstractive and flowery prose prevents a more exploitative look at Dolores' abuse, something that the second movie utterly fails at by casting an actual teenager).
Anyway, I am going to tie all this back into a "yeah there a lot of questionable things pertaining to teenagers and sexual abuse in the Danganronpa games, but using this questionable moments to handwave all discussion of such themes as wholly ignorable if not outright feeding a victim-blamey/exploitative narrative, doesn't help really help anyone or tries to actually review built-in biases of that narrative or of the people that consume it".

i love honkai impact 3rd, but there are so many questions i have about how the world works that just don't seem to ever get adressed in game it's not even funny, like how Schicsal seems to be the catholic church in the middle ages and then it becomes a more secretive organization later, so... is christianity still around in the honkai universe? did the church just... stop existing? or was it separated? theresa still dresses like a nun so idk
What makes this more fucky is that Shicksal Valkyries is VERY well known. Durandal was on TV after solving a "mysterious gas leak" and was introduced as Schicksal's newest/youngest S-rank Valkyrie.
How the fuck anything is hidden or makes sense isnt made clear.
(talking a lot of my Snippets AU below. Didnt want to take away from my main answer for this ask)
So for Snippets AU, I am trying to put down rules/things that makes sense. Like (Honkai) monsters being around and its perfectly normal, but for the public Schicksal is like, kind of a mercenary group specifically trained/equipped to handle monsters.
Like, for the public, Schicksal (and Anti-Entropy) are a group hired by governments so they dont need to worry about the (Honkai) monsters.
When in reality its almost the exact opposite, but with that coverup/front, seeing Schicksal Valkyries around isn't anything unusual really.
Like I keep thinking about that miniplot in Alien Space where the Arahato is sighted and a bunch of ufo fans blog about it and I'm just like, they have to put so much effort into staying completely secret, why not just be open about your existence while covering up how bad it really is?
Like, this late into the timeline (near year 2000) they really couldnt come out and say that there's monsters and they've always existed. That just wouldn't work. It would have to be from the beginning that the lie/coverup is made.
So in Snippets, Schicksal never hid the existence of Honkai beasts (aka, monsters). And, like, couldn't they also use that to justify the church being so powerful? Throw in some "monsters from hell! God has granted us the duty to eradicate them!" or something.
Hide away Herrschers and the fact that Honkai has a Will. It just takes an unbelieveable amount of effort and opens the way for many implausible moments to hide the existence of Honkai monsters which can appear anywhere. ESPECIALLY with the internet.
Someone could go into the wilderness and camp for a week and encounter a Honkai beast and upload it onto the internet.
In canon, that's a huge breach and requires a ton of effort into covering it up and deleting it from the internet or playing it as a fake video or a conspiracy theory.
In Snippets, an online post about a monster would be met with "contact Schicksal or your government and they'll handle it." comments. (And of course, idiots would try to do "lets see how close I can get to this Honkai monster!" videos and die doing it.)
And I guess regarding the Moon coverup in Snippets, its pretty much the same. "There just wasnt anything useful to find on the dark side of the moon." "It would cost too much to build stuff there right now." "We're thinking about expanding to the moon someday in the future." just a lot of dismissals and handwaving it off.
#honkai impact#asks#once again putting my thoughts/rambles about Snippets AU behind a read more#since i dont want to hijack every ask to talk about my AU

anyway im going to make some minor changes to existing chapters of DLD. im going to make a point to differentiate between the Hocotate and Hokotate pronunciations in-text since that's actually kinda really important and informs a lot about where olimar and various characters come from.
i don't think ive said this before anywhere (at least outside of DMs with my partner/ideas ducky), but the TL;DR is that both the "american" and japanese pronunciations of Hocotate/Hokotate are kind of an important background detail that inform how i see the pikmin universe Working in DLD. Hocotate ("american" pronunciation, "hawk-a-tate", rhymes with Freight) is the "standard" pronunciation across the galaxy while Hokotate (japanese pronunciation, "hoh-koh-tah-tay") is how Hokotate natives would refer to it. and this like, really really informs a lot of characterizations.
the ship for instance always pronounces it as Hocotate because it literally wouldn't know any better and nobody's ever said otherwise because it works well enough for an interplanetary business setting.
olimar also pronounces it as Hocotate unless he's specifically in a situation where everyone involved would Know to pronounce it Hokotate. however, he Thinks of it as Hokotate except in the context of Hocotate Freight.
the president is obviously from Hokotate but intentionally always pronounces it Hocotate and obviously named his company Hocotate Freight.
lamella would always pronounce it Hokotate which might make some characters (i.e. basically anyone who isn't from Hokotate) kinda 🤨 at her.
etc. like these are 4 very different outlooks that imply a lot of very different things about each of the characters.
also to be clear, Hocotatian is the "standard galactic" name for people from Hocotate. if asked by anyone Familiar With The Hokotate Distinction, though, they'd call themselves Hokotateno. but some people (such as olimar, aka Mister Nuance) would naturally have a conditional answer depending on who was asking and why.
in case anyone can't tell from the tone of this post, a lot of the reasons for this relate to some of the background lore of this universe that ive alluded to both in-text and in comment replies. i don't think it's ever going to come up explicitly in-text (so far it's mostly just been alluded to in things such as Hokotate's socioeconomics as olimar ranted about in chapter 2), but in DLD Hokotate has a history of Being Colonized and exploited for resources which can pretty clearly reframe a lot of those attitudes mentioned above if you didn't get the vibe already. it just hugely informs characterization so i think it's a change that's important to make sooner than later (even if it's mostly going to be relevant in much later entries once we start getting people Not From Hokotate involved in a major way, e.g. the Koppaites).
also blah blah blah everyone is technically speaking different languages but something something universal translators are standard features or something. i can have my really nuanced worldbuilding AND handwave things. if you're going to get mad at me about handwaving stuff though id like to introduce you to a cool game called Pikmin 4 which definitely does not handwave 90% of its plot and is 100% internally consistent all the time.
anyway ill probably make these changes tomorrow night or something. all im really gonna do is change 13 instances of spelling (the other 9 are going to remain unchanged as either part of "Hocotate Freight" or one instance in dialogue) but i can't be bothered tonight lol. i also might rewrite this post to actually use sentence case etc. since it'll be an important reference post to link in the chapter 1 author's note after making this change but i just expanded this from a discord message lmao
#dogs leading dogs#my posts#chapter 5 is still almost done. and then ive been working on a side thing to blow off some steam#expect that probably pretty soon after chapter 5

(thinking about ishmael becoming playable in whats looking to be the next patch (or Some soon upcoming patch lmao) is making me thonk on yully again, mainly the premise for her actually being in the p.gr universe
because yully isn't strictly a p.gr oc - she's my oc from one of my personal original projects lol.)
(in her original setting, set somewhere in the near-distant future - earth's surface was ravaged by a biochemical weapon of war, resulting in everyone fleeing to floating cities or mountaintops. several thousand years have passed since that event, leading to a futuristic society that has been trying to remain connected and flourish among what remains of humanity.
which isn't really super duper important to the setting besides just indicating its in the distant future and shit is super futuristic by our standards lmao
the Real deal abt the setting is that cosmic, angel-coded higher beings (and those in-between) exist - and a couple of them have banded together to create a little pocket dimension, where a select few from earth are invited to access and are given the freedom and space to explore their life choices, ambitions and capabilities. this is done with the hopes that whatever people do and learn within this pocket dimension will be a positive development on their actual lives outside of this dimension.
this pocket dimension looks and feels a lot like a VR MMO honestly, as per the setting's standards of those things - aka very realistic immersions of a recreated fantasy environment, where you can choose how you look and even use magical powers and stuff + fancy-cringe gamer ui interfaces LMAO
.
so like, ive purposefully kept all That really vague and even mixing in p.gr lore like some sort of grafting patch when writing up yully's backstory profile, because 1) her original setting is all completely fandomless baseless bs in a way lol 2) THIS PROJECT DOESNT HAVE ANY OFFICIAL MEDIA, IT'S HALF IN MY HEAD HALF CONCEPT WORK ELSEWHERE SCYGCSYUGCYUCS it's less real than real lmaoooooo
yet here i am dragging my sweet oc from a media project that only exists in my head into a whole other media story. lmao
anyway with all that context rambling done, the Real-Real deal with my current yully thonks is that........................ since she technically comes from a universe/timeline/parallel dimension/etc that also has cosmic higher beings along the lines of ishmael............
and considering the state of the story in CN, and what ishmael's presence there even means........
like, lmao. actually i have more than one type of thonk about all this and it's kinda gettimg jumbled in my own head now lol
but i guess, to put it in an unsorted list:
as per my own notes, yully's original world gets terminated bc it doesn't meet higher cosmic standards - and in consideration of what her original setting has, this termination would occur contrary to what a selection of some other higher beings want (who support and are supporting the few human lives they're watching over)
ive had a sticky note somewhere that maybe yully getting transferred to the p.gr setting wasn't luck or coincidence or me handwaving it to just be so, that someone or something may have had a hand in it - it's a sticky note because i haven't committed to that idea, but i still am thinking on it................................
another sticky note that i have - and have been waiting to do more story first for ishamel crumbs tbh - is that ishmael might actually know yully isn't really "native" to this world, and may even know the original circumstances that brought her here. it intrigues me to consider this lmao
a newer thonk ive had now - though might be debunked based on what ishmael decides to do in the upcoming story - is that ishmael sorta has similar sentiments to the cosmic beings from yully's original setting i.e. a higher being who sincerely wants to see human potential and growth, and rather than sitting back and watching humanity like they're in a petri dish, she's personally engaging and directly interfering in matters, regardless of if that's per the rules or not.
also more fun thonkies ive had is that yully's supposed capability to withstand the punishing virus better than most (as per how the story itself writes it anyway) is bc she doesn't "naturally belong" - like how the virus would be considered an alien concept as per regular laws of science, yully might be mundanely human but she's a human alien to this universe/timeline/dimension/whatever; an outsider. but this particular thonk is like a "man idk Shrugs" thonk so it's also A Sticky Note for now
that's all the ishmael-relevant-adjacent thonks!!!!
basically tl;dr yully being v much an AU version here means at some point ishmael might want to sit down for a cup of tea with her. maybe. possibly. very concerningly.
.
i also have some unrelated side notes that i want to just drop here now bc im in a rambling mood, please feel free to ignore lmao
yully likes paper parasols bc that was literally her weapon of choice whenever was in the pocket dimension in her original setting lol. she had a modified one that was like a magic staff + bazooka combo lol
while the pocket dimension looked and acted a lot like some funny virtual reality multiplayer game - and honestly, a lot of people tended to treat it in that vein - the fact that it's literally a pocket dimension, which is itself being managed by higher powers that can manipulate the laws of physics and such, meant it was all still very real; the fact that "angels" with halos and wings and all exist, the fact that the residents can all use "magic" - magic which is really just the manipulation of physics as aided by the cosmic beings' automated systems
(and yes, yully very much used said "magic" and was very good at it too; her magic was light-based aka photon and energy manipulation lmao. and bc yully was yully, she got too fucking technical with it and basically invented a fusion reactor in her inventory. but thats a story for another day and another media project altogether lol)
[Celebration] is the name of her gamer raid group aka Her Bestest Fwiends <3 that she might literally kill for at this point
she's such a good strategist now bc she was literally her gamer group's raid coordinator and strategist lmao
#ooc ;#(this is a really long and messy and kinda uhhhhhhhhhhh rippy ramble tbh)#(on one hand this is important thonks BUT ON THE OTHER HAND I FEEL REALLY BADLY CRINGE. PLEASE DONT PERCEIVE MY CRINGE)#(this is what i get for bringing in an oc from a nutty original setting to begin with i guess LMAO)#(i love yully to bits but i hate how she might feel too Much and convoluted if i incorporate too much of her og setting in regards to her)

One thing I didn't like about Romantic Killer is something that could still be changed in a future season:
Making Tsukasa be Subject 0
The first or second episode has Riri specifically saying that whenever Anzu's talking to them, everyone else will see an 'illusion of something normal'. And the little daydream bubble shows us Anzu just looking super zoned out - as an example, but definitely so specific wheeeeen...
... they tell us Tsukasa's really quiet and cold and reserved.
What I thought was gonna happen was a reveal that Tsukasa had been given the same deal. Originally, I thought his was just to become a hot guy, and that's why he was uncomfortable with all the attention, but now I'm thinking it'd make more sense that he wanted someone who loved him for him. Which - uhhhhhhhhhh - could've ended with a meet-cute with his yandere stalker. 🫠
It would've helped explain why he was so serious all the time and why they made such a big deal of Anzu being hidden by a Normal Illusion while talking to Riri: he'd have his own wizard he's talking to in those moments. Instead, this whole concept never comes up again in the story, other than the indirect mention of it no longer being a thing when Riri takes a human form. But the actual illusion doesn't really propel the narrative forward on its own.
And that's fine! Technically, if it was just a handwave, I'm okay with it. But I really liked the potential of foreshadowing that explanation right as we return to interacting with a character who makes "long, silent, stoic staring" one of their main traits.
Actually, I like that I called Katie a yandere. Everything about Romantic Killer is supposed to be a big cliché, right? And these wizards don't know humans too well? So, what's more devoted than someone who's completely and totally obsessed with you? That's romantic, right? Yeah? She keeps saying she loves him! why does she have a knife
It even fits with the gaming theme. Tsukasa could've had a 'demo' of just one girl (the super obsessed yandere) for the wizards to see how it played out. They picked a guy because 'obviously' most Lonely Romance Gamer Noobs are men (hm - I think that could evolve into a greater commentary about Japan too, based on what some other Japanese media touches on and with how this show keeps talking about Japan's low birth rate). But after the Yandere Simulator was a bust, the wizards decided:
Maybe have a girl as a protagonist instead
Recycle the guy from the demo as a full-blown love interest for the Early Release version
Tone down on the obsessiveness and find someone who doesn't want a relationship at all (aka: maybe just stick with the tsunderes this time)
... After the tsundere is doing okay, explore recycling the yandere love interest from the demo, too 🫠
I don't think that's the direction it's gonna go, if it ever continues. But it would be cool. :)

It's me, it's the hammer context brigade
This is the og post the Tumblr CEO took offense with, and threatened to call the FBI over:
This is the user that was unjustly suspended explaining it all on her alt if you want the full, and frankly, grossly transphobic context: https://www.tumblr.com/cyprederone/742904943801958400/its-rita-were-done-here-for-now?source=share
Yee-ikes! I don't spread any information without context and receipts, and the context is something EVERY transperson on this site knows (blatant transphobia) and the receipts are the CEO's own statements, so 100% legit!
I have been hit by transphobic BS on this site a couple of times, mostly in the incorrect flagging of a post about trans stuff being flagged as NSFW even though it contained nothing I wouldn't say at work. I've seen trans-positive memes get taken down when they're just captions on frames from cartoons with some sort of non-explicit complaint about life as a trans person. And, of course, during the Tumbpocolypse I watched as EVERY trans-creator had their blogs deleted just because they're trans having NOTHING to do with the content itself.
This site has a transphobia problem, the CEO pretending that it doesn't exist and handwaving at one of thousands of similar vent posts does not make the transphobia problem, nor our awareness of it, magically go away.

OOC | Arthur & His Line of Succession
idk what to entitle this but!!! my brain at 5am was like 'here have this' so now you get to hear abt it too lksdjfkljsdfjl
ok so!! arthur's faction, even objectively speaking (like in an au where every single varmont really and truly is the disgusting vile monster that ronan thinks they all are, this is STILL an advantage for arthur), has a v big advantage over the others, and that is @forgottensebastian!! while sebastian just being the amazing person he is, is a total win for arthur, like i said, even if he were actually leck quasar born again (SCREAM), his v existence would still be a huge advantage to the Arthurian faction bc he's a designated and direct heir and historically!!!!! that is a huuuuge asset in getting ppl to fight/vote for you!! so i wanted to sort of explore this a bit!
so, when ur abt to embark on a civil war for 'who should rule us next' ur hoping ur not gonna have to turn around and do it all again once ur chosen leader kicks the bucket, and arthur having a clear, designated heir from the get-go is a a part of that! bc w edmund or guin, say they get crowned etc, well great! but they're just one person right so what happens if/when they die before having kids! ur back to square one -- if guin's crowned, well, whose her heir? edmund? arthur? ur back at it again!
this is (one of) the reasons @forgottengodfrey is so keen to get edmund hitched (also gaining the stafford/astairan alliance etc but yeah), so edmund can start making heirs of his own, pronto!
ironically, its also one of the reasons @forgottenroderick is so reluctant to let his kids marry bc then ppl might start wanting one of his kids to rule more than they want ~him too!!!! its also the reason he was so desperate to have kids in the first place and took three wives to do it </3
but annnnyway, as a result, i do think arthur's sort of...thought abt this a lil bit frankly (he's so much more introspective than i ever thought it throws me every time i swearrrr) now, obv, idk how this will all go down but, if roderick were to die, and arthur to begin his gambit to seize the throne, i think he'd make his line of succession basically the sons of roderick in order of age; the sons of roderick's father in order of age (aka alaric), the sons of roderick's grandfather in order of age (aka bartholomew) and then their male line descendants in order of age (aka eoin). if all these men were to die, then it would follow the same structure but w women so:
arthur
sebastian
edmund
alaric
bartholomew
eoin
guinevere
cassandra
ciara
now, in his ideal world alaric and the other male varmonts would inherit before edmund like so:
arthur
sebastian
alaric
bartholomew
eoin
edmund
guinevere
cassandra
ciara
but he def recognizes that obv edmund has a way better claim to the imperial throne (not necessarily the kingly one of the og country tho depending on how ~those inheritance laws are written, but in that roderick apparently reopened old laws from ther abt multiple wives, im assuming its still true that edmund would have a better claim to ~that throne as well?) than alaric, bartholomew, or eoin so yeah! the top one is what he's currently thinking! HOWEVER i do think the more he talks to @forgottenarias the more he rethinks his position and so i think he may potentially end up considering heirs in order not just male heirs so:
arthur
sebastian
cassandra/edmund
edmund/cassandra
guinevere
alaric
bartholomew
eoin
ciara
now this would actually be a mistake for his faction, really, bc it'd mess up his ability to claim that ~he should be king since guinevere is, in fact, older, so i do think he'd at best do some handwave abt how roderick's male heirs come first bc that was the intention of the founder or whatever, and THEN roderick's female heirs and then everybody else hahaha but i do think he'd still want to be like CASSANDRA OVER EDMUND but yeahhhh idk if he could reasonably pull that off so i do think it'd result in a lot of confusion abt who has precedence between those two were he ever to actually realize his claim (unlikely!!) but yeah!! sldkjfalksdlfjdslkfj
anyway, he might potentially handwave abt his mother's line being the true imperial one (and thus cassandra still having precedence over edmund despite her sex) as marian became ~his mother and thus cassandra having precedence over edmund or smth but idk -- if they're still at war w edmund when this comes down the line he'd def be like 'yeah that's how that's happening' but if somehow arthur's in power and edmund's cool w it or whatever then he'd probs feel edmund would be a better fit for the crown than cassandra tbqh and have him as the third
anyway!! ngl none of this will probably EVER matter bc even if we do kill off roderick and start our war w/o that one big revelation etc, we uhhhh know that lil smth abt arthur that he don't know so yeah!! (and lbr even if he did manage to seize power as soon as he and edmund made peace, amira would just poison him soooo) but anyway here we are i thought of it so i thought id share it hahaha

Always appreciate the nitty gritty details behind your work! It does make me curious? about what you'll do if future albums deviate even further 😅
*though I'm not very imaginative/not familiar with other groups' albums, so I can't imagine drastic changes to DC's photo books!
This is a dumb question (sorry!) but is it possible at all to guess/predict? roughly when the first photo from Villains will show up? Selection is random, so I figured the odds of a VillainS photo popping up on any given day is low in general, but it also has to happen sooner or later, right?
Don't say such scary things to me!! But also thank you for indulging me, I will take every opportunity to keep talking about this
When trying to figure out what to do this time around I briefly considered scaling down the 55s to fit. E.g., assuming we take 44 for simplicity, you get the scalar by doing 55/44 = 1.25. Then every page number just gets divided by that and either rounded up or rounded to the nearest whole number (hadn't figured that one out yet, my intuition says ceiling because it avoids ending up on a page 0 but in this particular case the smallest number still rounds up anyway so... this required further thinking.) A page number of 55 would translate to 44, a page number of 1 would translate to 1, a page number of 35 would translate to 28 etc. The thing I dislike about this is that it creates duplicates on the blog that aren't duplicates in the stats, e.g., if you round to the nearest then 37 and 38 both end up as 30, but if you do ceiling its 39 and 40 converging on 32. Part of why I enjoy doing this is seeing the unique images myself, so I don't really like that solution.
The other idea, which is what I've been debating for the back pages of TTOL anyway, is just to take rolls on "unreachable" pages as accessing a second pool of photobook rolls (which would be a single number that goes up by new page count every time a new one comes out instead of two numbers to avoid the same issue lmao). But that would have been quite a decent number of pages for these ones (in fact, almost an extra album's worth) and so once I realised they fit inside 3x55 with only minor amounts of handwaving I knew that that was my preferred solution. If a future release has an entirely incompatible number of pages this option would probably be what I fall back on unless I have any other bright ideas. (I've also kind of been holding off paginating the photobooks because I don't own Center of Time and wish that I did. It should go first in the order if I had it, so if I went ahead and put Mysterious Mansion first it would be kind of like giving up unless I came up with an even more convoluted logical justification to satisfy my own desire for a proper sort order.)
On the topic of probabilities, you'll have to bear with me, because there is every chance I got this entirely wrong, however, I think it is as follows: the probability, on any given day, of not getting VillainS is 33/36 ≈ 0.92. That means the probability of getting VillainS is 1 - 33/36 ≈ 0.08 (aka 3/36, but I'm phrasing it in the negative deliberately). To not get VillainS two days in a row, you multiply the probability of not getting it by the probability of not getting it, as you need both events happen but they do not have a dependent relationship. That is: 33/36 * 33/36 = 121/144 ≈ 0.84. (Or, (33/36)^2) The hardest part of defining "when villains will show up" is determining at what threshold of probability it would start to be unlikely that it hadn't already, because, since we are dealing with chance, there is no absolute answer. For argument's sake, lets say that that threshold is 0.9 — which means you'd expect that by the time the probability of getting VillainS reaches 0.9 that it would have showed up. We can figure out what day that would be by doing the following: first, we invert back to the probabilities we have been working with (probability of no VillainS is 1 - 0.9 = 0.1) Then you put it back into the original formula. (33/36)^days = 0.1. To solve for days you just follow what my old high school maths teacher used to say (an index is equal to a logarithm!) and flip that thing around to days = log0.92(0.1) = 27.62. Which means: by day 28 there's a 90% chance VillainS has showed up, and, if it hasn't, that could be considered reasonably unlucky.
But all of this is entirely theoretical anyway because I can see my queue and the probability of this happening is 0.23* ;)
*So long as the assumption of me not forgetting probability theory also holds true

Oh wow anon really drank the "men are the real victims!!!!!!" victimhood kool-aid. To anon:
Jaune is not "vile" towards Neptune, he gives him a harsh eye because of his asshole treatment and talk about Weiss back in v2
Oscar is not only a host of Oz which yes anon does come with the anger of spite of those that have issue with Oz; but also has essentially stepped in as an unofficial huntsmen of his own. Which comes with the risk of harm and what he went through is EQUAL to what Ruby got dealt by Neo aka someone with a grudge against her despite the blame actually belonging elsewhere.
Ren gets flack because he buys into authoritarian defeatist bullshit and acts like an asshole; which is revealed to be due to his feeling like he's letting others down and failing. Not only is that debunked by the person it means the most coming from but on top of that he gets told that he's loved by her. Also I don't know wtf you're pulling this shit about Ren "not wanting a relationship" and "being kissed without consent" out of cause: a) he may not seek one but he's more than shown he'd be for one with Nora; and b) oh yes let's ignore that the "big kiss" between two very much built up characters (after one directly states being bad at vocalizing his feelings) is a bad thing vs. a common romance thing. On top of that it leading into a deeper conversation and even a pushback against the notion of pushing/rushing into things like that, since it leads to the two NOT entering into a relationship; Nora realizing that she needs to be more than just "Ren's love interest" before going into a relationship which is not a negative against him; and Ren being an amazing male in not getting bitter or petty but accepting that she needs to figure that out for herself w/ him supporting her.
Ren was not discarded, even Renora's relationship hasn't been discarded. Its been put on the back burner as Nora figures out who she is cause she AND the relationship deserve her not just being "Ren's love interest".
Sun was a stalking categorically in v4, there is no valid way around that. He got slapped for MASSIVELY VIOLATING AN ABUSE SURVIVOR'S PRIVACY. If one looks at how he is towards his team, yeah it is fair to say that he's bad towards them due to his personality; thus its a VALID thing.
Scarlet has every reason to have an issue with Sun at least, but also so what. The "takes issue with everyone" personality is just that a personality type.
Drop the bullshit race angle cause nothing on that front is confirmed or denied about Sage; not that it has a damn thing to do with his character or relevance to anything going on.
This Neptune bit shows yourself as the pathetic type that slops at male feet and try to paint any and every thing not praising them as "bashing"/prejudice against" them. Your ass doesn't have a damn clue what prejudice looks like just reaching for it as an attempt to throw on a bad mark. Neptune isn't at all bullied and the notion is ridiculous.
Funny how your dumbass is the only whiny ass I know of taking issue with Yatsuhashi, which means nothing given that your entire thing is bullshit so far
Your entire bullshit parade is bitching because men are not the center of the universe nor have their issues handwaved either.
RWBY's writers don't hate all men but they surely hate the vast majority of them. The whole series and especially the books reek of inner misandry and pick me feelings. It's quite impressive, really.
Note: it's not a matter of ships. It's a matter of how male characters treat each other. Jaune is presented as an underdog, but he's vile around Neptune, and seen favorably compared to other guys. Oscar is beaten and pushed around (I know Ozpin is inside, but that's still a kid and that's what Jaune and Qrow see, no matter the shock). Ren is more mistreated by the writers, being psychologically pushed around—he's liked as long as he stays gentle and supportive, gets kissed without consent, gets pretty much forced into a relationship he wasn't prepared/he didn't want to at the time, then discarded when Nora realized she was her own person. Sun is a stalker, slapped around for trying to help, and he's an awful person to his teammates (before trauma is brought up, yes I know, but doesn't explain how he takes jabs at Neptune at every turn despite him being clearly hurt), Scarlet insults everyone except Nolan and reeks of hate, Sage simply doesn't exist (the only Black guy in the team) despite relevance to the theme, and Neptune is so disgustingly bullied at every chance you really start questioning some things. Come on, Yatsuhashi had an amazing character in the first book, then it was ruined by him contradicting his own self-imposed morals and making him a hypocrite.
I would continue with the antagonists but this ask would be too long.
TL;DR the girls support and love each other. The guys don't, but it's not their choice, it's the writers', and it reeks of that guy that is "not like other guys" trying to force himself in your girl group.
I could say something about how you can make just about any point you want if you cherry pick a handful of moments from a 9 season long show and some tie-in novels nobody's read and ignore all the other times where men are obviously depicted as heroic, aspirational, sympathetic and kind. Not to mention all the times they have their pain recognized and validated by other characters and all the times the show has very close male/male relationships. I could also say something about the... fucking weird projection happening with some of those examples you listed. I'd think I'd rather just respond with this humorous picture of a whining baby and say "that's you, that's what you sound like."

ocd is so weird bc its completely belittled and infantilized on the surface level (aka the stereotype- what people think ocd is like) but then the reality of it, the actual symptoms, are completely demonized once you get into them and people see you as evil just for having this mental illness in a non quirky way like they assumed its like. and then at the same time its not taken seriously at all and all the symptoms are handwaved as not that deep because how could you be so upset about something so dumb lol just dont do the compulsion its easy. why dont you hashtag let the intrusive thoughts win and shut the fuck up

lmao medieval plumbing. also be aware this is entirely based on the uk as im from there
anyway!! it would have been veeeery highly coordinated, like, planning starts from moment of death type shit. it also would have been a state funeral - these are different from normal funerals, distinguishable via the incredible amount of ceremony and the military overtones, and are often reserved only for monarchs, at least in the UK. there also would be a lot of international dignitaries as well - think deepnest, the mantis village, the hive et cetera, as is common in state funerals. there would also be a LOT of procession! normally there'd be stops at churches and so on but since churches don't exist we'll handwave that away. another important part would be the lying-in-state, although this is fairly modern, dating to the seventeenth century in the uk at least - this is the tradition in which the body of a deceased official, such as a head of state, is placed in a state building, either outside or inside a coffin, to allow the public to pay their respects (im lazy so i got that bit from wikipedia, it describes things better than i ever can). there'd also be guards around the clock, rip their sleep schedule, by distinguished military members. five knights who? anyway.
after the laying-in-state period would begin transportation (aka the 'final journey') to a crypt, tomb, whatever you wanna call it. the public often accompanies this in a huge procession (ahem queen liz ahem) bc its the public lmao.
thats abt all i can articulate atm, lmk if you need anything explained further! - 👹
OOOOH EATING THIS ALL UP
u and spooky are really feeding me today ngl
(also I am also British so British funerals are also my point of reference dw bout it lol)
