Luke Skywalker vs Rey... Nobody
I hate the argument that a lot of sequel trilogy stans use whenever anyone criticized Rey or labels her a Mary Sue. It’s probably the weakest argument a sequel stan can ever possibly say to me. (Besides the people hate Rey because she’s a women argument).
Lets compare them shall we?
Luke Skywalker in A New Hope is whiny, inexperienced, and very naive. There is multiple moments in a new hope that proves this. When he was whining about not wanting to stay on the moisture farm and wanting to join the Academy like his friend, Biggs. He constantly was slightly annoying throughout the film, especially to Han. When Han named his price and Luke was like “We can buy our own ship with that!” or when Han was flying the Milennium Falcon and Luke was practically yelling in his ear to go into hyperspace. Han and Luke did not get along at first because of Luke’s behavior. Luke went against Obi-Wan’s orders and saved Princess Leia, not thinking of the consequences. How he could possibly be killed or put in a cell with the Princess. He doesn’t think of a plan to get out AFTERWARDS only the spur of the moment. He was constantly shown to be inexperienced and needed his friends help or HE WOULD HAVE DIED THE FIRST MOVIE. While on the millennium falcon, Obi-Wan taught him things about the force. Maybe not a lot but he knew how to use the simple basics of it. Like sensing the force and letting it guide your actions (as Obi-Wan was trying to teach him before). For once Luke listened and trusted Obi-Wan and destroyed the death star.
Lets do Rey now WHOOP. So far the only personality flaw she seems to have is that she’s also naive? She had the same wide-eyed innocence as Luke had but it’s different and here’s why. Rey never suffers for any of her so-called almost non-existent flaws. Rey is experienced enough to hold her own in a fight against men WAY stronger then her (that’s realistic though but that’s one tool in her belt). She’s bilingual. She can fly the millennium falcon better then Han Solo even though she never flew one before. She is constantly saving people by herself, never the one being saved. (Before y’all bust my balls, Rey escaped that damn starkiller base by her damn self. Luke didn’t and couldn’t). She uses powers that takes years to learn and the excuse is the force dyad. So she downloads Kylo’s skills and training. Great. Magnificent. Rey is on a amazing start. And this is the first movie! She can only get stronger from here.
Luke is more mature and responsible in ESB. He’s a respected hero of the rebellion. Luke still struggles using the force. Even with the training Luke goes through with Obi-Wan he had to truly focus to pull the lightsaber to him. Plus as a common occurrence, he still needed help from his friends. He’s not invincible. He actually gets severely hurt (makes sense). He goes to Dagobah to get trained (because unlike Rey he doesn’t have the “learn force jedi shit that takes years to learn” cheatcode). And then he’s impatient. He wants to learn how to use the force so he can help his friends. Luke is again reckless, impatient, and he’s also insecure in his own belief. Him not believing he can lift the X-wing was why he couldn’t. Against his master’s and Obi-Wan’s orders he decides to save his friends. It’s a noble reason to but it still got him fucked up. He got his hand cut off, he was beaten and humiliated, and then he was told a horrifying revalation that twisted around everything he knew and believed. He was scared of Vader, you can see it on his face, but he did not succumb to fear.
Rey goes to the island to convince Luke to go help them fight the war. Why doesn’t Leia go instead? Who knows. Why does Luke act the way he does? Who knows. Luke dismissed her and was quite rude to her. Rey was having cute little talks with Kylie Renner in their little force dyad BS. She called him a monster and a murderous snake. I like the insults. It fills me with joy! But then she finds out the truth. Rey did do something reckless and stupid but as usual she doesn’t suffer the consequences to her actions. Technically she’s morally superior to Luke because she saw the good in him and felt like she could turn him to the light (after slicing his face open. Ok). Rey decides to give herself up to the First Order thinking Kylo would save her. And he does. So she wasn’t even wrong... Rey fight the very elite guards of the (bootleg emperor palpatine) Supreme Leader Snoke. Reminder, TFA and TLJ are like 3-4 days apart. She had zero training within these days. Luke refused to train her so don’t start that bullshit. Luke trained her for like 5 minutes and none of that training had anything to do with lightsaber dueling. Rey is then told she was a nobody. Now why did Rey cry about this? I truly don’t know. How the hell would Kylo accurately know that Rey’s parents were nobody? Didnt Rey been know this from the force awakens? Eh whatever. She tries to force pull the lightsaber from Kylo Ren and do a dumbass tug a war instead of walking up and grabbing it. It reminds me of JJ and Rian fighting over where the star wars sequels). Anakin must be screaming and yelling from above... or below... idk. The lightsaber then breaks. Rey then saves her friends by showing her once again superior piloting skills that rival or is possibly better then Anakin Skywalker himself. Hitting 3 in one shot? You go girl! She then uses the force to effortlessly move the big ass boulders out of the entrance to save the resistance. Last I remember... Luke struggled to do that with a few way smaller rocks and was also focusing hard to do.
Luke is finally at jedi status! Woohoo! Now Luke first saves Han from Jabba. It shows his very dark side tendencies by choking the guards (like father like son). Luke thinks of a actual plan before going in (CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT). Luke “Chanel Boots” Skywalker goes to Yoda on his death bed. All he wants is answers but Yoda wants to be cryptic as fuck. Luke has been lied to for years by his mentors and his family. Luke’s father isn’t hero Anakin Skywalker but actually a big, asthmatic, merciless, murderous asshole who has a choking kink. Luke then says he cannot kill his own father and Obi-Wan, who believes Vader isn’t a human but a machine, has no faith in Luke. He believes that Luke will fail and the Empire would win. Luke feels the conflict and good in him that nobody else does. He knows that Vader is unloyal to the emperor and he actually cares about his own son. When he is with Han and Leia he realizes he made a mistake and has a bad feeling about it. (*gasp* Luke is not being super reckless). He’s not arrogant (not in anyway) but he’s completely confident that Vader would turn. (He isn’t flawless there is still obvious problem with this plan he has. He fails, the empire wins. He dies, the emperor wins. Vader doesn’t turn, Luke fails. Luke almost succumbs to the dark side and it’s actually plausible he might fully turn. He wants to desperately save his friends and his father has done horrible things to Luke. Luke had every reason to kill Vader. But he doesn’t. He throws the lightsaber away and foolishly puts his life in Vader’s hand. Luke doesn’t save the galaxy because he can make things levitate with the force. He wins because he had the strength to resist the dark side and has so much love and pure good in his heart he saw the good in his father.
Rey starts off with a training session (no idc it’s too fucking late now. 3 movies in? Is she doing reverse character development?) and basically Poe gets mad at Rey for not accompanying them on missions. I still don’t know why she needs training, when she is at a decent strength to fight elite guards, fight kylo ren, and a variety of other things that typically takes a long time to learn. After finding out Palpatine returned, Rey goes on a mission to find the way finder almost like a shitty videogame. I don’t even want to talk about the force dyad anymore because it’s fucking dumb. Rey gets chased by the force order and hear this out, FORCE HEALS (i forgot what the animal was but idrc). Which means Rey had the power to stop the painful truth of death themself. Why am I not surprised? Rey did something that no other jedi nor sith or jedi have ever done this. Anakin went to the dark side to save the ones he love. This movie was just a slap in the face to Anakin. Rey then fights Kylo Ren and lost??? again it seems a little too late and it also didn’t make sense. Rey defeated those guards all by herself with Kylo needed help from her. She’s obviously the better lightsaber duelist but hey, at least JJ was trying to mellow her out a bit. Rey stabs him while our beloved Princess died. She then regrets her decision and as always, doesn’t have any consequence to her actions. By the force I forgot, the whole scene where she is revealed as a Palpatine? Completely invalidates the first two movies but eh whatever. She uses a power that only the elite sith does... something Kylo Ren himself could not do (and he’s on the dark side). Rey “killed” Chewie but actually no she didn’t because Chewie is perfectly fine. Rey is supposed to be all dark and edgy now, “you don’t know me” BS. Yeah I’m sorry I won’t tolerate this because my only allergy is the fish smelling coochie bullshit called the sequel trilogy. Rey got scared of her dark self. Well at least JJ tried? Rey then almost gives up but Luke was like “nah fam you cant”. Rey dies trying to fight Palpatine but then as usual, she gets zero consequence cuz Benny Simp saved her using the force. Then she kissed him... no. No. No. This made my eyes burn like they just threw bleach in my eyes. It made no sense. “A Kiss of Gratitude”? What the shit was that? GIRLS DO NOT INSPIRE TO BE REY.

Sta wars Revenge of the Sith reviews!
So i didnt realize that I'd get so emotionally invested in Padme that I'd start ugly sobbing when Vader force-strangled her. I did and it felt like shit because the one person whose protection made him turn to evil, the same person he claimed to love was the one he hurt with his own hands. Like he was so warped in evil he didnt think his wife, one who Mind you, he sorta forced into a relationship with him, manipulating her to act on her feelings, was the person whose love he believed but ended up doubting in the time when she needed him the fuckin most. She warned him he was breaking her heart, she told him his love was all she needed but ofc he was shrouded in dark power he couldnt master in such a short time...when he threw her away, i thought she was dead! It felt like Obi Wan was having a dilemma, wanting to save him but knowing he shouldnt. Poor thing had to decide between heart and mind! Remember his nightmare where she kept saying 'i cant'? Well that prolly was what she was thinking while unconscious, pleading him to help but knowing it wont work. She, in a way, died in childbirth but we all know she was killed by Vader the minute he broke her heart and the reason she didnt die right there was the babies. So his nightmare, the one wanted to avoid became a fuckin reality, following nearly the entire dream sequence! Like i said previously, Shmi's death was the catalyst for Vader's loyalty switch while the premonition about his wife finalized his decision. He became evil for the two women he loved more than anything... It seems Padme passed down some info to her newborns... Remember Leia saying she remembers her mother? That she was very beautiful but sad. I think this refers to when she held baby Leia who was staring at her. Leia always remembered... And then there's Luke who even despite his nonexistent age remembered he words 'there is still good in him'. Luke subconsciously followed his mothers pleas and ofc he didnt magically know Vader was redeemable even thought he saw proof later... And ofc Vader would hesitate to follow the order where he had to kill his son, the little part of his beloved wife that was still alive, the little part who was one of the reasons he converted in the first place, because admit it or not, he loved his wife and kids😭😭 In a funny way, it came full circle. He changed sides for the love of his wife and unborn child and he ended up killing Palpatine for his children, sacrificing his life for the good of his children and ending the reign of evil. It was so twisted, evil yet beautiful and its why  I'd call Anakin and Padme 'star crossed lovers'... So is this path of immortality the transformation into force ghosts? And i cant see how Anakin became one when he didnt know the Jedi knew that...i cant find the connection I found between Yoda and Obi-Wan. Those two died and their bodies disappeared. Vader's body was cremated, he didnt vanish like the other two yet he became a force ghost...i really dont get this part...🙄 What i dont know is how R2 and 3PO survived everything, especially R2, he literally got out nearly unscathed! I like to think R2 was the smartest being in the series since he had no force, was slow in moving and barely had any weapons yet he knew what to do. He helped Qui Gon, Obi Wan, Anakin and even knew how many messages he had to show Luke, not revealing anything except something that'd lead him to Obi wan. I wonder if obi-wan pretended not to know R2 since he obvs fought many battles with his assistance. Also explains how he knew to get the complete message... I love R2! He passed down to people fighting for good like a fuckin prophecy! A true fuckin legend. Whats ironic is how 3PO was in Leia's protection, the robot her father built with his own, kid hands! I'd say my mom and @vittra88 are 100% right. Revenge of the sith was the best movie from the prequel trilogy. The editing was fuckin badass!! And the story it portrayed was the most interesting!! P.S. R2 is my fave chara from the original and prequel trilogy! And iI cant wait to start watching
sequel trilogy since it was the series i desperately wanted to see...*takes a deep breath* guess i gotta brace myself for a shitton of more pain and heartbreak... i am relying on you, fanfic authors, to get me through the shit i have fallen in. Reylo authors, help me escape the pain through your fics... P.P.S JarJar's face in Padme's funeral was so fuckin gut-wrenching 😭🥺

About the fanfic ask: Luke grow with Vader and Palpatine noticing that Vader would have 0 problems to treason him to keep Luke safe and Luke is like a big deception in being evil dark force user and Vader Its like he is young and tiny, let him do whatever he want and Luke is doing less evil to Vader, Palpatine decides to kill Luke and blame the rebels, so angry Vader kill Rebels and he will be so destroyed that he didnt treason him and he will got his murder evil machine 100% operative again.
(2/3)  so he send Luke to military school in another planet so he make friends and learn about their future empire and Vader, being a protective father, isnt very sure but he accept because Luke want to go since he has had a very protective life and palpa is still his master. The ship "looking like a civil ship" where he is going with a 501 soldiers is attacked by "rebels" and unfortunately he is killed. But actually not, the felix was near and when they saw the attack they was to investigate
(3/3)  And they find a boy being chased by people that looks like rebels but its obvious that they aren't. Fight, they took the boy with them and he travel with them (saying that his name is Anakin Skywalker, he discovered the real name of his father and he is a disaster sometimes. Probably this ideas dont like you, but its funnier in my head). Probably Ahsoka suffer a stroke when she see him, Vader is angry and depressed and Luke love his new friends and the adventure. Then a lot of drama happen. End
.......I am so surprised at how accurate this is XD Writing Imperial Luke raised by Vader, then defecting because of Palpatine for some reason is my jam and then Luke running into Ahsoka?? 👀 I love it. Especially if it ends with Vader finding out Palps tried to kill his son and killing him in revenge. Knowing me, Luke would have several awkward run-ins with his dad while Vader thinks that Luke defected and betrayed him, and they eventually manage to c o m m u n i c a t e like actual functional human beings.
Send me a fic premise that sounds like something I’d write, and I’ll tell you how embarrassingly accurate it is!

Sequel (especially TLJ) Stans: Omg, how could you call Rey a Mary Sue??? If anything, it’s Luke and Anakin who are Mary Sues!!!!!
Luke: [spent two whole movies getting his ass kicked by random no-name individuals and Vader, constantly needed to get his ass saved by Han and Leia during pivotal moments. Failed HARDCORE in ESB because of his recklessness and overconfidence and tendency to act before thinking. Even during his destruction of the Death Star, which everyone holds up as “proof” of his being a Mary Sue, was reasonable considering that the movie gave him an established backstory as the most skilled pilot on Tatooine, that X-wings weren’t that different from the ships he’s used to flying, he could only set up the shot with the help of the other pilots, he needed to get his ass saved by Han, and he only accomplished it by using a force technique that Obi-Wan had trained him how to use in the previous scene. And yes, he defeated Vader in ROTJ, but this was after FOUR YEARS of training, and we knew that Vader didn’t WANT to kill his son and was likely going easy on him]
Anakin: [despite being the Chosen One, still got his ass handed to him by Dooku after TEN YEARS of training. His arrogance and recklessness and tendency towards anger caused the Jedi Order to prevent him from advancing. And in the final movie, his fear and darkness caused him to lose his wife, lose his body, lose everything that was important to him, and become Palpatine’s slave. The ENTIRE TRILOGY was about his FAILURES]
Rey: [immediately masters advanced force techniques it took Luke FOUR YEARS to learn, can instantly summon lightsabers with 0 difficulty even though Luke could BARELY make his own WIGGLE after three years of training, defeats a powerful dark side user who WAS TRAINED BY LUKE SKYWALKER in her FIRST movie, can effortlessly lift boulders with less than one day of “training” when even YODA was shown to struggle with such a feat. Has 0 flaws that are acknowledged by the narrative. Is NEVER portrayed as being in the wrong. Somehow more hopeful and loving and forgiving than LUKE SKYWALKER. Is immediately adored by all who surround her for no reason and despite her horrendous behavior, and anyone who calls her out on her bullshit is treated as petty and unreasonable, eg Poe in TROS. Always shown as being in the right and an incorruptible beacon of morality even in TLJ, a movie where everyone else was turned into a miserable failure in order to make the theme of the movie work. The narrative and characters like Finn constantly overlook her misbehavior. Takes things which she has NEVER earned, like ownership of the Millenium Falcon even though Chewie was RIGHT THERE, and Luke’s X-Wing, even after she treated him like shit and held him accountable for Kylo’s actions rather than Kylo himself. Was hugged by Leia first after Han’s death when Chewie was RIGHT THERE. Never truly struggles with the Dark Side, and never fails in a way that has lasting repercussions]
It is NOT sexist to criticize Rey!!!! And it is NOT sexist to demand better written female characters who face the same amount of struggle and get to overcome their weaknesses and have nuanced character arcs as the male characters do!!!!!!
I am TIRED of instantly defending ALL female characters as “good representation,” no matter how poorly they’re written!!!!! And I am TIRED of how we all safeguard male writers from criticisms over how they handle female characters because “all female characters are queens uwu”!!!!!!!
omg i totally forgot how people used to insist luke and anakin were mary sues as if they didnt both get LIMBS cut off due to fighting people that were more powerful and skilled than them lmfao

Disneyland and Lightsabers- Kaminari x Reader
Because there is never enough Kami fanfic and Im missing Disneyland ;(
Also, Kaminari and Izuku are definitely Star Wars nerds. Fight me not really pls i have noodle arms
Kaminari x reader
Genre: Fluff
Word Count: 1250+
Warnings: some cussing
Summary: Kaminari and you visit Disneyland with Class UA and your boyfriend becomes a mega nerd in the middle of TomorrowLand
One Shot
Tumblr media
Everyone had been so excited for the trip to Disneyland-especially you and Kaminari. You being the mildly obsessed Disney freak that could sing every song without fail and Kaminari never have gone, you both were psyched to experience the magic of Disney. You spent weeks planning, researching, and discussing what rides to ride on, what group pics to take, and what yummy foods to gorge yourself with.
Now you were here, and you couldn’t be more ecstatic.
All morning you were having the best time of your life. Your group, which consisted of Shouto, Midoriya, Uraraka, Sero, and Mina, were having the best time running into rides and taking dumb pictures around the park. But as the midday rush came and the sun was beating down on your group, you all felt like you were living in a sauna.
“No gonna lie,” Mina huffed out under the sheen of sweat trickling down her face, “I don’t think I can do this-how are wearing black Todoroki?”
Todoroki shrugged, not a drop of sweat evident on his face even with an adorablely clingy Izuku latched on to him as your group walked down the packed lanes of Tomorrowland.
“I’m cold blooded.”
“Wish we were back in Space Mountain,” Uraraka added tiredly, her bangs starting to stick to her forehead, “it was so cold.”
You looked at the tired faces of your friends and sighed. You were trying so hard to be the optimistic, happy one of the group that kept everyone on their feet and moving. But you had to admit that you were extremely hot too. You looked around as you dodged strollers full of children, hoping a nice quiet spot to rest in the shade was open-to no avail. It seemed like every family had taken a spot that was out of the hot California sun.
You sighed.
“Why don’t we just go into a store? There’ll be some air conditioning in there.”
“Can we please?” Mina begged, Sero nodding frantically as his bangs, too, began to stick to his skin.
You laughed exhaustedly from their childish desperation.
“Hey look,” Kaminari pointed, “that store sells lightsabers!”
Kaminari and Izuku looked at each other, a common love arising on their faces. Izuku finally clung off of Shouto and Kaminari let go of your hand, leaving you and Shouto to watch the two nerds run in like 5 year olds.
Shouto looked at you and shook his head.
“Nerds.”
The store was a noticeable few degrees lower than outside, even with the hoards of families walking inside. The whole group sighed in relief, allowing the rush of cold air to sweep over your bodies.
After that relief, you began to look for your fanboy of a boyfriend. You walked past bundles of children and Star Wars merchandise, puzzled on how you couldn’t find either boy.
You turned to Uraraka (who was obviously in awe by the store), confusion plastered on your face.
“Where do you think they-“
“OH MY GOD DUDE THEY HAVE COUNT DOOKU’S LIGHTSABER?!?”
You heard Kamianri yell a few octaves too high as he pointed frantically at a wall of lightsabers.
You smirked.
“Never mind.”
You walked over, a sly grin plastered on your face as you snuck up on Kami as he was gushing over the toys with Izuku, tapping your finger against his shoulder lightly.
“Having fun over here?” You asked, a smile playing on your lips.
Kaminari slightly jumped, surprised his quirk didnt go off and shock you from the scare. He felt his heartbeat go up, chuckling at your obviously smug face.
“Yeah,” Kaianri sighed, breathless with excitement, “it’s just-these are so cool! I’ve always wanted one of these since I was a kid.”
“Really, Kami? I thought you had a bunch of those things,” you said, remembering the bucket of old toy lightsabers you found at the back of Kaminari’s closet.
“Yeah I know,” he agreed,” I just-always wanted a real one-one I could build myself, ya know? Be a real Jedi and do what they did.”
“Oh,” you nodded as you agreed, giggling at his adorableness.“Should I sign you up for the Jedi Training here too?”
Kami’s face light up, grabbing your shoulders and shaking them slightly.
“Oh my god could you please?!”
You laughed, brushing your finger on the bridge of Kaminari’s nose, something you loved to do because it made him a blushing mess.
To no surprise, his checks turn a soft shade of red.
“Believe me Kami, I would  if I could.”
You both look at the lightsaber station and the group of crazy kids becoming their own Jedi as they meticulously built their weapons. You turned back to Kami, the softness in your eyes making his heart thump. He loved when you looked at him straight on-he could look and appreciate every facial feature that made you you- the color of your eyes, the shape of your nose, the outline of your lips: everything about you he found cute, beautiful, and attractive, and he loved to absorb it all in.
“What color do you think you’ll pick?” You asked.
Kami blinked his eyes a couple time, his daze being broken. “Huh?”
You giggled, making his checks warm. He always felt sheepish when he realized he had been staring at you.
“I said, what color are going to get?”
You bopped his nose again, making his checks go redder, making his bright yellow eyes stand out.He fumbled with his hair, giving you a cheecky grin.
“The blue one, obviously!”
“That’s so basic Denki!” You laughed.
“It’s the best color though!” He argued happily.
“Obi-Wan used it-well, until Darth Vader killed him-oh and Qui Gon-until Darth Maul killed him too…Anakin- he turned into Darth Vader and got a red one-and Luke…except when Vader cut his hand off he got a green one…”
You looked at him, you eyebrows raised in concern and amusement, a comment on your lips that you were holding back to spill.
“What?” Denki asked, Noticing the look you were giving him
You smiled wide. “Nothing….”
“What?” he chuckled, trying to get your thoughts out of you.
He grabbed your hand as you turned away to hide your smile, making you look at him as a laugh escaped out of you.
“No, I’m not gonna tell you!” You shouted, crinkling your eyes closed. Kami’s face was right next to yours, your hands on his chest. Being so close to Kaminari was nerve racking, and the feeling made you feel like being dropped from a 4 story building, the smell of his cologne making you feel warm.
“Come on-please tell me,” He asked as his fingers sat dangerously near your ribs-your tickle spot. His fingers brushed against your skin, sending rivulets of energy up your spine, making your head shoot up.
You looked at him, eyes wide.
“Denki I swear to god-“
“Hey love birds!” Sero yelled as Mina raised her chin as a greeting to you two, “come On! Our Fastpasses to Star Tours are almost up!”
You looked at Kaminari, an evil grin on your face as you poked his stomach on the side.
Kami grabbed his stomach instinctively, even though it didn’t hurt at all.
“You’re mean.” He said with a fake pout.“
“And you’re a nerd.”
“But you already knew that about me,” he replied, making you shake your head.“
”I guess,” you replied smiling,
“Wait-,” you asked, “didn’t you want to buy a lightsaber?”
“Yeah… Maybe I can-“ Denki began, but the sight of Sero frantically waving him down and pointing at the time on his phone made him think otherwise. He sighed.
“I guess I can get it later.”
“You sure?” You asked, knowing how much Kami wanted that toy.“
“Yeah, Yeah,” He reassured you, “I can get it later. Besides- we have all day.”
You looked back at the table, trying to make a plan that would satisfy everyone.
“Well what if I stayed back and got you the lightsaber?”
“Wait no y/n I can’t let you do that!” Kamianri protested. “We said we were going to do Star Tours and try to get one of us to be the spy, remember! I dont want to ruin our plans because of this.”
“But-” you protested.
“Please, I don’t need it-lets just go-I’m fine, seriously!”The more he talked, the more desperation played in his voice.
You gave him an unconvinced look. “Are you sure??”
“Yeah, Yeah,” He said in a fake airy manner, “I’ll be fine-I’ll just-get it later.”
He shrugged his shoulders and grabbed your hand, leading you to the group, Izuku back to being latched on to Shouto and everyone looking way more energetic than before.
“Lets go fight some space baddies!” Mina yelled, Uraraka and Sero cheering as they jogged out of the store, you four following behind.
————-
Later never really came. Ride after ride after ride, and it seemed Kami was never going back to that shop.
Night had now fallen, and you felt Kami’s hand fidget in yours.
“Do you think we’ll be able to go back?” He asked, his big puppy dog eyes boating into yours. You wanted to go back, but your call back time for the adults to drive all the students to the hotel was in 10 minutes, and you were a whole 2 lands away from the designated meet up spot. There was no way you could convince the group to walk more, and no way to expect to buy that lightsaber in that time.“I don’t know…” you said, not wanting to bring his hopes down.
You know Kami would try his best to not look disappointed, but he never was very good at covering his emotions up.
As expected, you watched his face fall a little.“Awwww...I guess I’ll just have to do it next time…”
Even though you thought it was slightly childish to want a toy so badly, you thought it was cute and adorable, and it broke your heart a little to see the one thing he wanted to go unfulfilled. It was like watching a kid on Christmas not receive the one gift their heart desired so desperately-it was heartbreaking and little guilty to watch. You grasped his hand, rubbing your finger against his skin, wondering how you could fix the situation. That’s when a light bulb went off.You turned to Denki, false distress on your face. You let go of his hand, turning to the group as you yelled, “I gotta go to the bathroom-I’ll met with you guys later!” And instantly running off, completely startling Kami and everyone in the group.
Everyone was focused on their bloated bellies, tired feet, and sleepiness, so the sound of your voice breaking their quiet self muddling completely startled them shit less. Kami shook his head as he tried to comprehend what happened in his worn out state, watching your back as you ran off.
Uraraka walked up between Kaminari and Sero who had took your place next to Kami, pointing at a crowded corner a few feet away from the trio.
Uraraka cocked her eyes, asking, “She knows the bathrooms there, right?”You were nowhere to be seen, and Kamianri looked around confused. “Where did she go?” He asked, completely bewildered by your actions.
After Izuku  reassured Kami that you would come back after a few minutes of him yelling frantically for you like you were a lost child, they rushed back to the assigned meet up spot. The night air drifted coolily through Kamianri’s hair and clothing, cooling his warm body. The sound of crickets chirping on the ground and the soft blinking of lights in the trees made him feel like he was in a dream like state-until he thought of you. When he finally realized you hadnt made it back, his heart rate shot up, his senses going into overdrive. Instinctively, he began to think of every possible bad scenario-you somehow getting so lost you wouldn’t make it time and get in trouble, you getting hurt, someone Kidnaping you… the scenarios went on and on, becoming more ridiculous and more scary nevertheless. He stood there, deciding to call you and ask if you are okay, until he finally saw you running up, a Disneyland bag in your hand as you desperately tried to shove it in your backpack with little success.
He jogged up towards you, smiling slightly as he breathed a breath of relief. His face took in a serious note as he asked, “Where did you go?”
You cocked your eyebrow mischievously, giving him a slight grin.
“Nowhere-Just the bathroom.” You stated matter of factly, disguising your smile by tying up your hair.
Kami could tell you were lying just by the pitch of your voice-it always went up slightly because you were excited or nervous to tell him something.
He chuckled as he shook his head.
“You are a-terrible liar,” he laughed.
“Oh don’t act like you’re any better Denki,” you smiled as patted his cheek.“Now come on,” you grabbed his hand tenderly, “we got a bus to catch.”
————-
He didn’t see you the rest of the night after roll call. Kami sat next to Sero the whole ride back due to the stupid “gender-with-gender” rule they have on school trips, and checked into his hotel room with him. He sat on the bed, sending you a good night text as Sero changed out of his clothes and fell asleep in seconds.
Denki stayed up, waiting for your reply. He wasn’t worried that you were taking awhile because he expected you were taking a little more time going to bed. His eyes began to become more droopy, and before he knew it he was fast asleep.
Morning came, Kaminari stretching up with a loud yawn. The warm California sun flitted through the curtains, blinding him. He rolled over, checking the time on his clock: 6:15 am.
He groaned, rubbing his eyes: damn this bright light waking him up so early. He debated whether on not to just suck it up and close the curtains, but he knew if he did he would wake up and be screwed the rest of the day.
He laid on his back, thinking quietly as Sero snored in the bed next to him. A smile dawned on his face- if he could sneak into your room, he could go and snuggle with you and go back to sleep. He knew that you were bunking with Uraraka- but- she wouldnt mind right? Nah.
He got up, stretching, and grabbing his pillow as he opened the door. To his surprise, though, right in front of the door was a blue Disneyland bag, the castle adorning the front as Tinkerbell happily tapped the tallest tower with her wand.
He looked down, confused- the hell left this here? He looked at his sleeping friend, racking his brain to remember if maybe Sero bought something yesterday that he left on the floor when he feel asleep. Kaminari couldnt remember, confusion plastered on his tired face.
He bent down, feeling his sore feet as he checked the bag. There was a single note on it, the stationary having the name of the hotel at the bottom. He noticed it was your handwriting, immediately recognizing the loops and angle of the words that made it yours.
The note didn’t have much to read. The only words written on it were-“Sorry not sorry ;)”
He smiled, shaking his head, setting the note down as he pulled out a blue lightsaber out of the bag.
Kamianri gasped in shock and excitement. He already had a feeling what was in the bag you had earlier, but he was so tired he didnt even think twice to prod you anymore about it He bite his lower lip, his heart swelling with love. He didn’t know why you went through all that trouble for him. His smile widen, his body giddy with excitement.
If he could, he would go and propose to you right then and there.

final verdict (obvi all of the eps were fantastic but my rankings are):
phantom apprentice > old friends not forgotten > shattered > victory and death
explanation and spoilers under the cut
victory and death was just SO sad i dont think ill ever b able to rewatch it. that doesnt make it worse, obviously, but i just caaaaaant like physically cant deal. its too sad. im glad it was sad! i love when media makes me cry. the episode ended and i just fuckin broke down and sobbed for like half an hour. like.... dave cudve given us some happy? or a sliver of hope. maybe if we didnt KNOW that rex and ahsoka were going to survive then the fact that they survived would have been hopeful but since we already KNEW.... idk. just the fact that her WHOLE battalion died is too sad. i guess like. darth maul got a happy ending. even in revenge of the sith it was like “anakins kids are a new hope!” but here we got NONE of that. it kind of had to be like that i guess. anakin being vader was set in stone since 1980. but like... cmon dave. u cudve changed it. we wudntve been mad. it was also just really short, and im sure that wont be an issue when i watch this arc all together as a movie, but it was just SUPER short. maybe this one will move up in my list after i’ve had some time to process it all.
shattered was also really good. my my new favorite thing ever is ahsoka and maul’s interaction bcuz that was comedy GOLD. i liked that at least ahsoka knew WHY the clones turned on her, which is guess makes it a little happier bcuz the rest of the jedi like obi-wan still have no idea what happened. ugh it was still a lot tho. liked her last convo with bo and with the jedi council. and ahsoka and maul’s vision of anakin was rly cool. i think my biggest issue (which is not even that huge of an issue) with these last 2 eps is that if felt pretty claustrophobic and monotonous bcuz it was mostly set on this one ship.
old friends not forgotten was basically perfect. i think anakin and ahsokas reuinion was done really well, though i still wished they had hugged. :(. the opening with anakin and obi-wan when i first watched the episode didn’t really resonate with me but now, knowing that that’s essentially ALL we get of them in this whole arc, im really really that thats there and i like it a whole lot more now. ugh i miss them. its so sad. ahsokas argument with obi-wan was also really good. i like how you can take either side because theyre both sort of right and sort of wrong. the action sequence with ahsoka landing on mandalore is, i still think so, the BEST action sequence in all of star wars. im so proud of my girl. perfect way to start the last arc of the show and remind us of everything we are about to lose. it ties into revenge of the sith really well, i think even better than these other ones. the fact that we KNOW what’s going to happen to these characters is what makes this episode, especially because that knowledge is kind of a hindrance to the other episodes in this arc.
phantom apprentice is literally a perfect episode. there is so much to love about this. it is actually PEAK star wars. like this is the best its gonna get. why cudnt the sequels be this good? also... none of it was set on a ship which was nice. theres really nothing i dislike about this episode so ill just talk about everything that was great about it. the set pieces were beautiful, highlighted by the gorgeous animation, the fight choreography was amazing and it really felt like it was 2 real people (which is was) who KNEW what they were doing and were actually trying to kill each other, again, every interaction with ahsoka and maul was perfect, they really made his character SO interesting by making him like... right? about everything.  like he actually wanted to save the galaxy, thats really interesting. ahsoka SHOULD have joined him but thats the whole point. she has too much faith in anakin. on that note, i loved how much they talked about anakin. I loved ahsoka’s conversation with obi-wan this one also is really good at tying in with revenge of the sith, and showing how these stories happen simultaneously. the other good thing about this is that we DONT know what happens at all. in the other episodes we at least have an IDEA of whats going to happen, but ahsoka and mauls story here is completely new. this is all new information. there was even a bit of politics in there with bo and ahsoka about the siege. but ya overall id say maul is what makes this episode so incredible. he’s just great in this one. im so glad this episode exists because now i can definitively say that i have a favorite clone wars episode.
conclusion: i just wish i couldve gotten into a show that has a happy ending. why does the ONE series that im so in love with have the saddest ending possible??? i really hate to think about this but.... this series might have just been better with a happy ending. it may have been more fun to see our faves overcome all of these obstacles, even if it was hard. obvi the jedi order would have to go through some reforms, but if the series had ended with at least anakin, ahsoka, padme, obi-wan, rex, and the clones  being TOGETHER, that may have actually been better than a tragic ending. i think anakin and ahsoka’s relationship is really the heart of this series, and what reeeaaally hits is them both thinking the other is dead at the end of this series, only to meet later as enemies. it’s just so sad. dave, what do you have to say for yourself?

on lukes moment of weakness and how it is fitting for luke  among other comments
Personally I TOTALLY believe that George's Luke would have been VERY similarly to Rian's Luke.
And here is the reason why.... Luke has almost always been George's insert (lucas pronunced luke S )  and it makes total sense for Luke to be "exiled" and secluded away just as George became with Star Wars after the backlash of the prequels. But at the end of it, he comes back and stands up for what makes Star Wars what it is. Which is what Luke does for the Jedi and themes of Star Wars by the end of TLJ. He has learned from his mistakes, atoned for them, found redemption, confronted those he has failed, inspired hope, and learned to show compassion once again.
Now while George may have done it differently, I do believe that Luke being in exile was a metaphor for George's own relationship with Star Wars and its fandom.
www . reddit . com/r/StarWars/comments/ebb4f3/lukes_momentaneous_thought_of_killing_ben_solo/
I know I'm stepping on dangerous territory here by talking about The Last Jedi, and I only do this because I think this is an interesting take on a key moment of the movie. Just bear in mind that I do not intend to make my point-of-view the absolute truth of it. After all, this is just my opinion.
We all know very well how divisive Episode VIII was, with many people pationately hating that movie. One of the main reasons of complaint is the fact Luke Skywalker had attempted to kill his apprentice and nephew, Ben Solo, because he sensed the Dark Side to be too strong in the latter. Luke Skywalker, the only person in the entire galaxy that saw there was still light in Darth Vader, tried to kill his relative. When even Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda had lost all hope Anakin could be saved, Luke helped putting him on the path of redemption, helping Vader turn back to the Light and fulfill the prophecy of the Chosen One. It seems to be an insult that this same character gave up on his nephew so easily and tried to kill him.
I believe things must be analyzed more carefully.
I've just finished marathoning the Skywalker Saga (by the way, I STRONGLY recommend the Ersnt Rister order: IV-V-I-II-III-VI) and noticed something very interesting while watching Return Of The Jedi.
During the final moments of Luke and Vader's duel aboard the Death Star II, we see the young Jedi Knight wants to avoid fighting his father so as not to fall in the trecharous web of Palpatine, who wants to turn the young Skywalker to the Dark Side. Luke is hiding beneath the Emperor's throne. Vader chases him and, through the Force, reads Luke's thoughts to lure him into confrontation:
You cannot hide forever, Luke. Give yourself to the Dark Side. It is the only way you can save your friends. Yes, your thoughts betray you. Your feelings for them are strong. Especially for... sister! So, you have a twin sister!
In this moment, we see Luke's face and he's completely terrified by the idea Darth Vader found out about his sister. It is something new and Luke fears for Leia's well-being. Also, we hear from Vader's words that he cares a lot about his friends, the people he loves. Vader continues:
Your feelings have now betrayed her too. Obi-Wan was wise to hide her from me. Now his failure is complete. If you will not turn to the Dark Side, THEN PERHAPS SHE WILL!
Now we have something different. Since he was brought before the Emperor, Luke had been constatly confronted by Palpatine and Vader with the idea of him turning to the Dark Side. When Vader talks about the possibility of that happening to Leia, it's not a threat directed to him, but to someone he loves. In this moment, Luke loses it completly and attacks Vader viciously, totally enraged. The Sith Lord can't stand the power of his son, fuelled by hate and falls to the ground, defeated. In this moment Luke is prepared to make the final blow, but then he hears Palpatine laughing and clapping. This makes him go back to his senses and realize what he's been doing. He then turns off his lightsaber and refuses to kill his father.
"I'm a Jedi, like my father before me" and so on... we know what happens, so let's fast-forward to The Last Jedi.
When Luke is confronted by Rey, who demands him to tell what had happened between him and Kylo Ren, we learn how things unfolded through Luke's perspective:
I saw darkness. I sensed it building in him. I'd seen it in moments during his training. But then I looked inside, and it was beyond what I ever imagined.
In this moment of the flashback we see Luke's hand reaching out to his lightsaber, almost unconsciously. He then proceeds:
. He would bring destruction and pain and death, AND THE END OF EVERYTHING I LOVE BECAUSE OF WHAT HE WILL BECOME, AND FOR THE BRIEFEST MOMENT OF PURE INSTINCT, I THOUGHT I COULD STOP IT.
Here it is again. Like in Episode VI, we see Luke reacting in a similar way by the notion of something posing a threat not to him, but to the people he loves and cares about. Luke feared Ben would destroy everything he cherished, just like Vader had threatened by turning Leia to the dark. And, just like in the OT, it was a passing shadow:
It passed like a fleeting shadow, and I was left with shame and with consequence. And the last thing I saw were the eyes of a frightened boy whose Master had failed him.
I've already written way more than I expected, so I'll just conclude here. I've realized the act Luke commits in the Sequels is the same (or at least VERY similar) as from the OT: he attempted to kill Vader then his nephew, out of fear of seeing what/who he loved destroyed. He repented and managed to stop himself in the act in both situations. And he was ashamed. So, at least regarding this point of the movie, I see the same Luke Skywalker.
(luke had more to lose now then he did before
another example which I saw dont remember where I saw it  but I saved the comments unfortunately I didnt put in the links:
edit: (now I remember www . reddit . com/r/StarWars/comments/9a3hdl/)
Luke considered killing Ben for about two seconds in a vulnerable moment
Sort of like he almost got baited into killing Vader by a few mocking words, and cut the hand off his own father in blind rage.
Luke is still just a person. If we've learned anything in Star Wars it's that the Jedi are not superhuman paragons of virtue and perfection, no matter how they might appear to the unwashed masses in the SW universe. They have the same flaws, temptations, failures, etc as anyone else. Yes the Force can help them overcome some of this, but they're far from perfect. Luke could have, and I agree should have grown in a positive way, but it's not impossible or even unbelievable that he didn't. He just had his life's labor wiped out in front of him and blamed himself for it. All those years of finding lost Jedi knowledge and artifacts, being what he believed to be the last Jedi in the universe with the responsibility to restart the order on his shoulders alone. All those lives that he took under his protection and guidance as the Master of the new order, wiped out in one night. Because of him (at least in his mind). Everything he was working towards for years just totally undone in a few hours and it was all his fault.
So he leaves and says fuck the whole lot of it. He lives by himself, stews in his misery and regret, retreats into himself and rejects the most foundational principle of the whole concept of being a Jedi: to help people. He's the most powerful Force user alive and he's wasting away by himself on some desolate rock, swearing off the rest of the galaxy because he thinks that he's a failure, that he wasn't strong or good enough, that he can't win, that it's not even worth it to try anymore, and that even at the height of his wisdom and power, it was all undone, and by himself no less.
another comment
Stuff has changed, I mean he’s quicker to come to his senses. I wouldn’t call that his flaw though. His flaw is one of his greatest traits, his care for his friends and family. It’s a flaw cause it causes implusive actions, lashing out on Vader, leaving Yoda, a single thought that he could stop a horrible fate in Ben.
I personal struggle with a temptation in my life, a temptation to do something my faith says is wrong to do. I may have overcome it some days, but other days, whether the same circumstances or not, I might fall into it. Temptations are a constant battle, not a one and done thing. Flaws are similar, you don’t just grow past a flaw after one instance.
Because a day may come when you will brought face-to-face with that temptation or flaw again, but the circumstances will be different, and it won’t be so easy to overcome.
You mentioned Toy Story in a post, and that’s a decent example when it comes to one facet. Woody might not get jealous when another flashy toy comes along that gets more attention like Buzz did.
A better example of the nagging of a temptation, like Luke dealt with, is in Lord of the Rings. The Ring is a constant temptation to the bearer and those around them. At least by the film, Frodo may have resisted the urge to use it under the tree, but he still was tempted to use it at other times, and it was a constant battle. Same with Bilbo. Bilbo held the ring for 60 years. And the temptation of it held him greatly. He drops the Ring in Bag End, letting it go. If he was viewed similarly to how people viewed Luke tossing the saber, that’d mean he freed himself from it’s grasp and from the temptation to take and use it. We see in Rivendell that isn’t the case for him. He has a moment of wanting to take it back, and even at the end of his time in Middle Earth, he inquires about it, although more innocently curious.
That would be more similar to Luke’s case. To fall to the dark is a constant temptation that Jedi should always be aware of, and if you get close at one point, there’s the possibility that it’ll happen again, and if you aren’t prepared or it comes in a different form, you’ll either fall or get really close.
That turned out longer than I meant it, but I see this idea and..it’s just not the case.
another comment
Just because you get older doesn't mean you necessarily get wiser and better.
Jedi are still people (and some aliens, but you get the meaning), and the prequels (and even the OT) showed that even the oldest and wisest among the Jedi were capable of mistakes and misjudgments.
I think it's unreasonable to assume Luke should have become incapable of making, or even repeating mistakes and succumbing to emotion.
Right because people only get better as they get older and we grow past our flaws and doubts permanently right?
You guys are weird.
Luke overcame that moment of doubt before he almost struck Vader down and you think what ....... Luke got some kind of videogame like powerup where that character flaw would never come back again?
Some of you have a very black and white (boring) opinion on life and human growth.
Spoiler: People have flaws, we don't all overcome those flaws.Your boy Luke is no exception.
Consider what nearly proved to be his downfall in Return of the Jedi: for all the Emperor's taunting about the Rebel Alliance's imminent demise, it was Darth Vader who finally pushed his Berserk Button by discovering that Leia was his twin sister and suggesting that if Luke didn't change sides, he and his master might have better luck turning her. Then, when Luke went berserk, it totally worked: he curb-stomped Darth Vader and still didn't go evil in the end. His father's killing off the Emperor also put an end to a whole lot of the Empire's evil and birthed the New Republic.
Flash forward thirty years, and once again someone is threatening everyone and everything Luke loves, and killing the guy would surely preempt a whole lot of trouble. In his heart of hearts, he doubtless remembers what Yoda taught him about how easy and seductive the Dark Side is, but he also remembers how Yoda's mistake of hiding the truth about his lineage from him nearly brought his downfall. He also remembers how killing the Emperor solved so many problems the way he'd better not try to solve them this time... Well, what's so tempting about that?
Luke had more to lose at this time. He knew what a relatively free, peaceful Galaxy looked like, and had other students to care for besides Ben. Instinctively, he was acting out of concern for them. Luke makes an important point when he gives Rey the truth: it is a split second. Luke is a hero, but he's human. He was impulsive and acted on instinct in his youth, so the fear of Ben turning is enough to push him to the edge for a second.

ok I'm seeing a lot of hate for tros but lemme just go over everything I can think of rn that I either liked or loved cause I really did enjoy this movie (long post alert)
the absolute best thing about the movie for me was def the trio scenes. this has literally been all iv wanted from this trilogy was the three of them interacting n tros fucking served it all up on a silver platter. every scene w the three of them in it filled me w such joy, we really shouldv had this from at least tlj if not from the ending of tfa. the final hug scene ? them squeezing each other tight cause they didnt kno if they wer gonna see each other again, the sheer emotion of having all three of them be there n ALIVE, especially after finn had sensed rey had died. the tears, the way they just seem like they wanna pull them tighter despite it being physically impossible. I could go on about this scene for fucking days man, i was crying in the theater
another thing I liked .. was actually the whole palpatine plot thread. i was skeptical at first cause really wer bringing in palpatine ? but i think they actually made it work, especially theme wise. rey is the granddaughter of palpatine, n he says the dark side is in her blood. but rey refuses to bow to hatred, refuses to give in because blood n family does not define u. but the family u make for urself ? that's what matters.
now the last line of the movie. rey talking to the old women asking for her name. the hesitation as she looks to the distance to see luke n leia smiling at her. the confidence when she says "Skywalker". fucking killed me. fit perfectly w the found family theme that was built up. she denied her "roots" as a palpatine n chose for herself to be a Skywalker, to bare the name of her real family, the one that supported her n helped her grow to be the person she is. that shit is my fucking jam.
now I gotta talk about kylo ren. going into the movie I thought I'd be angry if they tried to redeem him. but as I watched, I found myself actually liking what they wer doing w him. yea he goes to the light side, but it didnt feel that forced. there was still hesitance. but the fact that rey healed him instead of killing him, how he heard his mother's dying breaths, that changed him. u can see that. the whole han scene was really good because it mirrored hans death scene, except when he aims the lightsaber at han, he instead throws it away, like he shouldv done back then. he knos what he has to do now because it's the only thing he can do to make up for it. he knos from this moment that he has to die so rey, so good can live. n that's what he does. his ending was perfect for his character that echoed Vader / anakin really well.
now, briefly, I do have to mention that the kiss scene ? bad. ruined the mood until the celebration scene n we got that hug. n rest of that scene outside the kiss I could even live w cause they have an understanding of each other now n they do share a bond. but making it romantic w a kiss ? a kiss that rey initiates ? felt Really out of place. if they wer gonna be anything it was gonna be familial so it would fit the whole fucking theme of the film. but nah, sure, have them kiss, whatever.
ok back to the positives jhdgju. another scene i Loved was when all those ships came out to help the resistance. n the fact that theyr not just more resistance fighters, that theyr just people who wanted to fight, made me tear up honestly. cant really explain it, but it filled me w such hope, n that's what star wars should do I think.
other little things I liked wer the defected stormtroopers since I'd been waiting to hear if there wer more people like finn n thankfully there wer, chewy crying over leia was really heartbreaking, the visuals also wer a real treat, n honestly I just really like this movie. the more I think about the more satisfied I am about it (which was the exact opposite of how i felt after tlj loll). anyway, my thoughts r that if u just cut out the kiss, just go from the hug to rey waking up to ben dying, then I wouldnt have anything major to complain about really. there r minkr things of course as there r w any movie, but I really believe tros wrapped up the sequel trilogy really well, n its prob the best ending we couldv hoped for

Original trilogy obi wan
I kind of hate a specific type of original trilogy fanfiction.
The one where people hate obi wan for lying and think anakin/Darth Vader is better. For not lying.
Like... Would YOU want to know that your father was an awesome warrior monk that turned dark, betrayed everyone and decided to kill an entire culture when the one who started the war and orchestrated a lot of deaths right there?
When he could have left the order? For his very secret (that obi wan knew anyway according to a deleted scene) marriage that he wasnt supposed to have due to his commitment to the order? Which again, he could have left.
Especially when he turns his men and the ones the Jedi have trusted for the war against them and themselves with no choice? Along with killing the ones in the temple which were most likely only the elderly, injured and young given that the others were in the field fighting for this war with said men that would have chips go off in their head?
And finally, the one he was doing it for, he decided it was a good idea to choke her when she was pregnant and not listen to her despite everything she loved him, and died by palps draining her life. Which defeated the purpose that anakin was trying to save her, yet didn't trust her or go to a med center.
But nope. Be mad at obi wan for lying to you about who your dad is, and now your going to side with him and the empire.
You know, not the guy who lost his culture, family, way of life and the men he had known to save the children of his apprentice who killed everyone and everything about his life and him just wanting to dissociate the person he raised and fought beside who became vader anf everything he did.
I mean, its not like he hasn't felt that way before. And padme and anakin didnt trust him, anakin trusted a SITH LORD over him.

I’m legitimately curious why people didn’t like the last Jedi? I saw it and thought it was okay? Is there something I missed or? Like it wasn’t great but it was passable?
ok so i wasnt gonna do this here bc nobody fucking asked but u asked so thank u but also strap in ur ready for a while ride
TLJ spoilers, obviously. also my issues are going to be numbered in no particular order bc my thoughts on this movie are so fucking scrambled but here we go
1. Kyle Ron. First of all fuck Ryeanne for making me see so many goddamn closeups of Adam Driver’s ugly ass face. I did not need to see all that he is so goddamn ugly especially that fucking shirtless scene where he looks like a block of pasty ass pale wood.
But for real, Kylo Ren. I don’t actually take issue with his existence, because Kyle really does excellently represent rich ass white boys who have everything handed to them but throw a hissy fit when they face the slightest adversity an throw tantrums all the time. It’s nice to see a villain that represents most people real-life nightmares instead of like, a Sexy Temptress or Old Evil Man or whatever. That being said, kyle is not given the villain’s treatment in this movie. if you cut out all the scenes where ryan is not actively sucking adam driver’s dick and jizzing all over himself over kyle’s angsty white boy angst, the movie has virtually no real plot (”oh no we are in space with no fuel, nobody is going to do anything except get mad at each other, miscommunicate, and deliberately make all the characters of color worthless while separating Finn and Poe bc fuck the gays”). So much of the movie is spent not just establishing how kyle became kyle (which is good! backstory for villains is good!), but trying to get us to like, sympathize with him? which is the shitty part. I dont care that Luke “”””tried to kill”’’’ (he didn’t) kyle. kyle had turned to the dark side before luke’s mistake. kyle had a million and one chances to change his mind from the start of TFA to the end of TLJ, and he never did. Kyle is an evil guy. We need one of those. He’s a great evil guy bc he’s got so many shitty qualities. But ryin doesnt want us to hate kyle, even tho hes the villain. why the fuck doesnt reean want us to hate kyle? bc rayan is also a shitty little man who thinks giving ur white boy a sob story makes him a sympathetic villain and sidelining ur characters of color will help.
also again the fucking shirtless scene what the shit man that was so gross
2. Will be broken down into A, B, C, etc. bc TLJ treats its characters of color like SHIT.
2A. Finn. Finn gets put in a coma bc why would anyone want to write anything interesting for john boyega its not like hes the MOST BEAUTIFUL MAN and the MOST TALENTED ACTOR who is being sidelined bc ryun hates black people. Yeah Finn is totally into Rey and he wants to save her and is willing to desert the rebellion for her. that happened in the first movie but why give your characters real arcs when you can recycle old ones to jerk off to kyle ron. the rose thing happens, shes like “we can disable the tracking” and like TWO SECONDS after he was dead set on desertion he’s totally down to risk his life for the rebellion at rey’s expense? that sure is a quick 180 with no real reason why and no writing to explain it! then there was the whole “separate finn and poe” thing ryain pulled for the shits and giggles.
2B. Rose. I was pretty chill with Rose, she had a dope backstory, her sister was badass, and I liked that they made that connection off the bat. I’m not mad about anything rayn did with her character but i genuinely believe thats only because i havent thought about it enough yet. give me a week and i’ll figure out how rain fucked it up. open to suggestions.
2C. Poe. Full offense but was I supposed to be mad at Poe for coming up with a plan when that bitch Holdo was like “I’m not gonna tell you my plan sit tight and be convinced we are all going to die :)” i legitimately did not understand how I was supposed to be mad at poe for doing what he thought was best for the rebellion after he asked holdo what the plan was and she was deliberately obstinate and refused to even be like “dont worry i have a plan” she was just like. so dumb. Also poe got thrown around a lot and i am A Little Suspicious of how much physical violence he experienced compared to many other characters.
2D. You guessed what was next! The slaps! Super awesome how the two men of color were slapped by white people!!!! So deep!!!!!!! For real tho uh the second time i saw this movie someone in the audience laughed when poe got slapped by space hitler hux and uh??? not funny. not funny or cute or clever to use the guy you built your entire nazi imagery on to slap the one black man on your cast. i dont care if it was supposed to make us “hate hux” or whatever more. i already hated hux reyn. you could have used that screentime in your 3 fucking hour long movie for something valuable, like giving finn a character arc, or literally anything else besides that goddamn slap. i was livid watching that.
and then with leia and poe? i get that part of the conflict was internal in the resistance and one of the major themes was how failure is the best teacher and all that but like? maybe stop physically assaulting all your characters of color? maybe uhhhh at least think about that first??
2E. like i mentioned before one of the obvious themes was how failure is the best teacher so naturally all the major characters had to fail at something, and then learn from their mistake to be better next time. with luke it was fucking up with kyle, with rey it was being naive enough to think kyle could turn, with poe it was the dreadnaught thing, finn was left out of this because raan dooesn give a shit abt finn bc hes a racist bastard, etc. but it was incredibly transparent how all of the white characters’ mistakes meant either personal losses or something small scale with one person, while the mistakes of the characters of color (poe/finn/rose) were all ones that cost the rebellion the vast majority of their forces. rey got out of her fight with kyle and snoke unscathed. luke got a lot of guilt and character development. What did finn poe and rose get? the deaths of like 99% of the resistance on their shoulders. A little too coincidental that even though rey LITERALLY GAVE HERSELF OVER TO SNOKE she was totally fine a-ok no real scars, finn and poe and rose doing their best to save the rebellion while admiral holdo refuses to tell them anything costs the resistance so fucking much. rey does the DUMBEST FUCKING THING with no real consequences and finn and poe and rose try their best and are punished severely for it.
2F. Really convenient how everything finn, poe, and rose did ended up being useless and just cost the rebellion lives, whereas at least rey’s mishap got snoke killed and taught her a lesson. reeeeaaaalllllyyyyyy convenient how finn, poe, and rose’s plan was a huge waste of time. it would have been much better for us to see an actual plot line with them that contributed to the story and their characterizations instead of “send them on a goose chase, make it pointless in the end, physically brutalize them along the way.
3. R*yl* bullSHIT: ryyn had a really fun time with a lot of very rape-y scenes in this movie. the whole force-connection thing with kyle and rey was soooooo uncalled for, it reeked of non-con fantasies, catered to the r*yl*s like nothing ever before, and was so goddamn gross. the obvious invasion of privacy and lack of consent was nasty, using it as a shitty device to make rey “come around” on kyle was NASTY and that whole thing was nasty. i know im not articulating this well but there was so much about that whole thing that bothered me. i just know reyhan was so fucking into it, inserting kyle into rey’s life, forcing her to completely drop all of her characterization in the first movie to suddenly thing kyle can be good, acting as if rey hasnt seen all the shit and known what hes done. the whole thing was gross and a really obvious example of why men shouldn’t be allowed to direct movies.
4. killing snoke was a dumbass fucking mistake. kyle is a tantrum-throwing temper-losing toddler. snoke was evil and mysterious and shit idk. we knew he was powerful as fuck, he looked like a testicle which is a great villain imo, he was the darth sidious and they killed him off while kyle is still in like. ep2!Anakin levels of angst. i get that kyle is already powerful or whatever but like. hes not cold and calculated the way snoke was. kyle is a good villain, but a weak main baddie bc hes dumb as fuck. he let the rebellion get away bc he was pissed at luke. that was dumb as fuck. kyle is ruined by his emotions, and snoke was a scarier main baddie bc he wasnt so fucking dumb lol
5. it was so fucking long. there were so many scenes that could have been cut or shortened. why did we need to see luke milking the tiddy of that weird alien cow thing. why did we need to see kyle ron shirtless. why did we need so many goddamn shots of the fucking porgs.
6. ya the porgs are cute or whatever but like. that whole “look at how sad the cute big-eyes porg is when chewie is eating his friend” thing was so dumb. i dunno why but i hated that the most. that was the worst thing the porgs did. they were cute but like chill disney u know they like ran algorithm after algorithm to make that porg the cutest it could be with science or some bullshit and like? thats dumb.
7. i get that the humor in star wars movies is shifting but i felt like there was too much of it and it was dumb. a lot of the riffs werent funny and there were too many of them for a star wars film. star wars usually doesnt take itself too seriously, but this one was a little too much for me.
8. there were too many plot twists for shock value. the story went on too long. it should have ended earlier but it didnt. i dont know why ryenn decided to have like 6 different climaxes but it was too much. should have let there be one climax buddy. thats it.
9. holdo. besides holdo being the white feminist icon why didnt she just fucking tell poe the plan. why. why was so deliberately obstinate when it was doing no good. like yeah of course poe sent out a crew to try to save the rebellion all u told him to shut up and let you handle it! obvously what she did in the end was badass or whatever but like uh hun next time dont be a piece of shit and then get mad when people react to you being a piece of shit. i would have been okay with all that happening if holdo wasnt treated like some hero who never made any mistakes. she did make a mistake, and that was refusing to tell poe what her plan was when she knew he was absolutely the type to do whatever he could to save the rebellion whether he had her permission or not. also apparently holdo is a lesbian or bi or not straight or something in like the comics or whatever and like 1. classic bury ur gays but also 2. no more word of god gay characters if a character is not gay in the movies i will not give you the gay cred for it sorry homophobes
10. i didnt buy the story w luke and kyle at lukes jedi training facility or whatever. surprisingly, i was ok with lukes story line and character development, and actually agreed with it for the most part, but i just like. i dunno i didnt feel like that was something luke would do. not because luke is infallible (even tho he is my gay dad who has never done anything wrong ever) but because the entire original trilogy is luke believing darth vader could be saved. and while im not opposed to luke changing his mind about whether or not everyone could be turned away from the dark side (luke was young and optimistic in the original trilogy, and as he grew older he would learn more about the jedi and their history like the whole speech he gave rey about how the jedi have to end bc theyre lowkey shitty). i actually kind of liked luke’s hot take on the jedi, because it was lowkey my hot take on the jedi (esp the prequels jedi who were shitty as Fuuuuuck but we are ignoring the prequels for now lbr) but also because i could believe it was a view luke would come to as he aged. but impulsively drawing his lightsaber to kill kyle before he had actually done anything bad, after suspecting that kyle had darkness in him for a while, even though he felt like he had failed? it just didnt feel like luke to me. i felt more like raeyn had chosen that particular backstory to try to make kyle a more sympathetic villain rather than give a believable and in-character back story for the characters. i understand that lukes failure ultimately has to lead to the creation of kyle ron in this story line, but that didnt feel like the right failure to me. maybe this is just me being nitpicky but that felt off to me too and i dont know if i can quite pinpoint why.
11. rey was a dumbass fucking bitch in this movie. rey could not be a dumbass fucking bitch to survive as a scavenger who was orphaned at birth on jakku. rey would have had to be smart and not as fucking DUMB as she was in this movie. now im getting heated so i cant articulate this well but she just did so many dumb things that anybody who had to raise themselves would have never done. she would never have delivered herself over to kyle ron like what a dumb fucking idea. who wrote this goddamn movie. fuck u ryeen.
12. why did yoda come back as a force ghost. where is anakins force ghost. he would be so fucking pissed at kyle right now. he would be mad as hell. he would have ended this thing. he would have called kyle out like the shitdickbitch he is and put him in his place. i get that yoda is more like ancient and orginal star wars jedi knowledge shit or whatever and like more of an authority on the jedi but like anakin is off in like force ghost hawaii drinking force ghost martinis while his shitty fucking grandson is being a piece of shit?? nah man anakin would have shut that shit down they better bring him back for ep IX and i expect hayden christensen himself to show up to bitch at kyle about what a fucking dumbass he is.
tbh theres probably more like i know there’s a ton of little things i hated but as scathing as this review is there were things i liked. visually speaking it was a very beautiful movie when we werent getting atrocious close ups of adam drivers ugly ass face. i originally hated but have come to appreciate the darker tone, since it mirrors the mood of TESB in that the rebellion seems dead but obviously isnt bc this is star wars. i liked luke. i dunno. i had a lot of issues with the movie obviously. to be quite honest i cant actually think of anything else i liked atm which is telling.
anyway if anybody actually reads this long ass fucking post feel free to respond with what you hated abt TLJ

Reviewing Return of the Jedi
So the copying from twitter was harder than copying from tumblr so...
I fuckin hate Jabba the Hutt like how tf did the ancient movie makers make something so fictionally ugly that i wanted to throw up each time he appeared?
Bitch, you cant speak english but then you go say "Leia, my Leia" like is that all? bor-ring! And she's not yours!
And the part where Luke's message said 3-PO and R2 were gifts for Jabba and 3-PO was like 'what gifts?' and then 🤣🤣
Han not being able to see or think too much but then berating an absent Luke for his choices like 'he cant save himself!' had me in stitches like dude, you better recover first then get your witty retorts functioning lol
Luke's plan, especially when R2 threw him lightsaber was hella kickass and the action and fighting had me drooling. not to mention, the colour of his lightsaber made me wish to steal the pretty thing
Yesss, Gooo Luke, Chewie and Lando! (even though i dont like Lando much but...) *shrugs*
Yess, thank you Leia for ridding the world off the shitshow named Jabba because i was honestly tired of seeing his ugly mug
It was sad to see Yoda go like i wasnt too attached but his parting words, his wisdom and the way he vanished was...*sniffles*
I dont have too much to say about the movie since i was so damn immersed no thoughts came to my mind except, 'damn internet, work!'
But lets come to the part I have the most to say about the confrontation between Luke, Vader and Palpatine was what I have a little more to say about
First off, Luke was correct in telling Palpatine that his overconfidence was his downfall because ofc Luke knew!
And Luke, I kept getting the feeling he was right, ofc Vader couldve killed him instead of chopping his hand off. he couldve pulled him back by the force and finished him but he didnt
He let him go and pretended that Luke escaped! Fuck, i saw his dark side cracking right there and i knew it was about time he starts becoming a real father.
Didnt hurt any less to see Luke trying to reason with him and then getting nearly killed while still crying out for Vader, i think that is when he had enough and looked for opportunities.
It was so heart-shattering to hear Luke dying and begging for Anakin to do something while he was getting electrocuted (I'd call him Anakin because he had become Anakin)
And then for him to just kill Palpatine and knowing he was gonna die, wish to see his child face to face. It was shattering
And Luke, poor thing wouldnt be smug because there was nothing to be smug about, he had his father back only to have to let go.
It was so damn selfless for him to not let him go and bring him back with him for a proper cremation even though Anakin told him to leave😭
His parting words! oh fuck i wanna cry and i didnt give a flying fuck he wasnt hot as i expected because ofc he was old, but he indirectly told Luke to tell Leia he loved her and Luke.
Fuck! he mustve been feeling shit to say it so indirectly because of his deadbeat + evil father tendencies but 😭😭
It was sad to see him go, sad to see him burning and i cried even harder when his force ghost appeared with Obi-Wan and Yoda and even though i was horribly upset...
I knew those three would lead and guide Luke to his real destiny, to the freedom of the galaxy. Even though it was too late and no matter what he did in the past...
There is no doubt Anakin became a loving father in the end and I wonder if he wouldve been good if he was allowed the opportunity to know baby Luke and Leia
And i think the movie makers thought that was the end, they may not make new movies with the celebrations and fireworks in the end. They also resolved Han and Leia's relationship...
P.S. What did Vader do that killed Palpatine? electrocute him with his own magic?
P.P.S. Fuck, as if didnt find the evil, black get-up hot af, Anakin had to turn out a hot mofo in his youth! why?! I am in loooove again!!!! why you die Anakin hot mofo with hotass name?!😅

hi were you also super fucking disappointed by this ep? me and my roommate binged the whole series starting a week ago and this was the first "new" episode for us
heyyy, yeah like hell i was! ever since i saw the promo for the episode where ezra tells saw he’s “just as bad as the empire” i already had a Bad Feeling about this, like? lmao besides it just seeming to end in a “don’t fight fire with fire uwu” scenario it was just so absurd and lowkey hypocritical that EZRA were to call out saw like that yknow? the guy who was deeply in touch with the dark side (and will probably be, since his VA said smth will cause a rift between ezra and kanan in the 2nd half of s3 and i’m p sure it’s gonna be that) and always says he’s going to do everything to have the empire pay for killing his parents and hurting his friends and so many people? Yeah………. bad writing over there
and for real but saw wanting to take click-clack as a prisoner was??? pretty logical like he killed saw’s team and attacked the ghost crew like none of them knew if he was gonna lead them into a trap. he wasnt exactly some defenseless civilian. and really? him torturing click-clack in front of everyone just left a rlly bad taste in my mouth, like it was p much just there to show how ~extreme~ and ~evil~ he is which is especially Yikes when u consider that saw tortured almost to the brink of death in the onderon arc when the separatists captured him trying to free the king
also while at first i didnt see the Cursed Line as that bad in context as i suspected it to be, the more i think abt it, the worse it gets? idk imp they couldve criticized saw threatening the egg which really was the only defenseless civilian, without equating him to the bunch of people that took over his homeworld and subjugated the entire galaxy and rule with terror
i really love that theyre giving saw a bigger spotlight and eventually plan on giving him more material BUT (and the but is just huge): i hate hate hate how theyre doing it. i’m tired of him being made the “Evil RebelTM” and Token Evil Teammate in general, i dont wanna see anymore parallels between him and anakin/vader and the general ableism is just really disgusting. basically: let saw be written by someone who doesnt hate him and also knows anything about fucking politics
as a whole for rebels, rn im just super disappointed but i can only hope the future arcs are gonna be better written, im v excited to see about sabine on mandalore, what thrawn’s big plan is, what happens to kallus and how they wrap up obi-wan & maul but PLEASE let filoni chill, i rlly like his writing in general but he gets overzealous so quickly and it’s frustrating as hell
