The Acolyte: Another Random Observation
Interesting that the ritual the coven performed for the two girls in episode 3 is called the Ascension. That's the same name Palpatine used for the ritual where Rey was supposed to kill him and take the throne/be possessed by the Sith on Exegol in TROS.
Perhaps the ritual was changed over time to benefit Sith needs? On the other hand, we don't know the full purpose of the ritual in The Acolyte. Perhaps if we had seen the ritual to its completion, we would find out that the two rituals were more similar than one might think.

You know what? Even though I overall dislike The Rise of Skywalker, I love that Anakinā€™s line to Rey in the climax ā€œBring back the balance, Rey, as I didā€ pretty much translates to ā€œKill that motherfuckerā€.

I fell down a random YouTube rabbit hole and was vividly reminded of how much I love this damn ship and these two wonderful, star-crossed dumbasses.
I only saw TRoS once, in the theater on opening day, and I've never wanted to revisit it. Seeing clips from it on YT reminded me that there were some awesome Reylo moments, and if they had both just stayed alive and had their hard-earned happily ever after, I would have been able to forgive everything else about TRoS that sucked.
Instead I'm still gutted at what a crushing disappointment it was, and what a colossal waste of a fantastic character, an epic ship, and a beautiful bookend to the series.

The Bad Batch and the Mandolorian really do be propping up and trying to breathe life into this one disaster of a line from Rise of Skywalker:

My issues with Ben Solo/Kylo Ren dying in TROS:
* it pretty much ended the Skywalker line, while Palpatineā€™s line lived on. Sure, Rey decided to reject her lineage but in many of the audienceā€™s eyes sheā€™s still a Palpatine.Ā
* Han died trying to get Ben/Kylo to come home to Leia. It feels like such a waste and tragedy that Ben/Kylo died anyway.Ā
* Leia stopped her Jedi training after she had a vision that Ben would die if she finished it. Ben dying anyway made that feel like a huge waste.Ā
* What did Benā€™s death do to help redeem him? Nothing. Yes, he resurrected Rey, which could be considered a selfless act, but he wasnā€™t instrumental in taking down the evil. Vaderā€™s redemption-death was good partly because he killed Palpatine to save his son. He single-handedly got rid of the source of all the horror and darkness and destroyed the Sith. Ben/Kylo did not do anything like that--he just resurrected Rey, after sheā€™d taken down Palpatine. What was the point in Kylo/Ben dying then?Ā  Ā Ā
If heā€™d survived, his redemption arc, which was truly botched in the movie, couldā€™ve been expanded upon. We couldā€™ve seen him actually face the pain heā€™d caused, we couldā€™ve seen how people felt about him, we couldā€™ve seen him at least try to atone for his crimes, even if he could never fully atone.Ā  Ā  Ā
* Also... his death was pretty much like how Vader died. Why did we have to see that trope again?Ā
* ā€œBut only death can absolve him of his crimes!!ā€ That might be true... but what about Revan, who also committed atrocities and managed to redeem himself? What about Atton Rand, who was a Sith Assassin who tortured and murdered countless Jedi? What about the Exile and Bao-Durr, who were responsible for the brutal deaths of thousands of people and the destruction of a planet? Yes, itā€™s true that Revan, Atton, Bao-Durr and the Exile are way more sympathetic than Kylo Ren, but they all still had blood on their hands.Ā  Ā Ā

you can still love sol without trying so hard to justify his actions. he fucked up, his assumptions and actions were wrong and it let to this tragical disaster.
"what he did was not that serious"
girl he killed twins mother and it let to the whole coven dying, be serious here for a moment
his character's arc is amazing, i love every little tragical nuance he has and fascinated by his story, but let's not downplay his actions because he is jedi and famously jedi can't do anything wrong

Ok, so Iā€™ve seen a lot of people making lists of questions that need to be answered in the finale but are we just gonna forget about this??
Tumblr media
This is in ep3 when the Emperor comes to Tantiss and goes into the vault with Hemlock and Nala Se. There were these container things that we didnā€™t see what was inside them and I havenā€™t seen anyone talking about them. If you have, then great!!! Because what are these things about!!!!
Because itā€™s not the kids, this is the part of the vault where they are ā¬‡ļø
Tumblr media
Very different design. But seriously what are in these container things??? Snoke clones?? Dead Jedi??? More kids?? Direct clones of the Emperor??
Tumblr media
And whatā€™s in the middle part of the room? The design of the room is also very reminiscent of the sith temples (imo). This is one of the things they definitely need to answer in the finale, or at least what I want answered.

Oh! When I say Anakin had to destroy his 'inner Sith', I am referring to how his action of saving Luke in that moment spiritually transforms him and brings him back to the Lightā€”I don't mean to imply that 'destroying Vader' was somehow always part of the Chosen One prophecy. As Yoda says, the future is always in motion, and there are 'many possible futures'. Anakin's future (of falling to the Dark Side) was not set in stone. In TPM, Qui-Gon says that his future is uncertain. If Qui-Gon had lived, then it's quite possible that he would have trained Anakin outside of the Jedi Order, and Anakin could have potentially fulfilled the prophecy in a different manner. My personal feeling is that Anakin, as a child of the Force (and essentially, the Forceā€™s avatar), was never ā€˜meantā€™ to be confined to the rules of the (old) Jedi Order, nor was he ā€˜meantā€™ to be enslaved by the Sith. He was always supposed to transcend both 'sides'. But once Anakin did fall to the Dark Side and became Sidious' slave apprentice, then he was part of 'the Sith' by default. The key factor in how Anakin eventually fulfilled the prophecy was that he had to sacrifice his own life for the sake of another. In order to break the cycle of retaliatory violence and spiritual enslavement, Love had to be the motivating factor for Anakin to make that sacrifice. So when I say that he had to destroy his 'inner Sith', I just mean that in the moment when Luke is crying out to his father, Anakin is moved by compassion (aka unconditional love), and this is what overcomes his inner darkness and ā€˜re-ignites the heart of the long-dead starā€™. Itā€™s the sacrificial action (braving Sidiousā€™ force-lightning to save Luke, despite knowing it will kill him) that allows him to truly destroy ā€˜the Sithā€™ that has held him captive all those years (both literally and figuratively). In the process he 'returns' to his True Selfā€”not a Jedi of the Old Order, but the Jedi he was always supposed to be...a Jedi motivated by Love.
(Re: the ā€˜otherā€™ thing, I canā€™t comment on that since Iā€™ve only ever seen TFA and refuse to watch any of the other fake-sequels. šŸ˜‰)
Guys. Padme isnā€™t Ā«I can fix himĀ» about Anakin. She saw Anakinā€™s flaws, hurt and trauma, and loved him anyway because she knew he was a good and loving person.
Luke is the one saying Ā«I can fix himĀ»
