I still need to do my khdr rewatch but I just wanna say ever since I first saw Baldr, I had a nagging feeling that he was someone potentially chaotic and then that came true…

but uh I just going to put this out there; I think there’s some potential he’s the Master of Masters.

OK HEAR ME OUT

Upon learning Baldr had a missing sister, my mind went immediately to the only other pair of siblings we know in the overall story: Lauriam and Strelitzia. Missing sisters meeting their tragic demises, which then torment their brothers into yielding into their dark impulses; thematic parallels done very much on purpose between khux and khdr.

Then I thought of how exactly siblings were involved in these circumstances. So Lauriam and Strelitzia were chosen as union leaders. Who decided that? MoM, when he gave the list to Ava. And it’s such a choice??? Like I spent hours thinking of why in the first place, and MoM probably had a good idea that darkness was going to infiltrate the dandelions (since it was looking over his shoulder while he wrote the book) so why did he choose to involve these family members other than to guarantee future events down the road? And honestly before Dark Road released, I thought that one of the reasons he brought them together for the task was cause…it would be a touching family reunion! Just a kind gesture. Perhaps something he wished would have been granted for him….He could never separate siblings after what he went through…as Baldr.

So if Baldr is the MoM, where he’s calmed down after the darkness possessing him vanquished, and with foresight about the events that led him to his end, he somehow becomes this master figure with a unique hatred and fear towards darkness, then leads his other fallen classmates as the foretellers.

My large leap in this logic is that kh is not the type of series to let characters go that easily. And with so many new characters introduced in Dark Road, I simply cannot believe that we saw the last of them. I think the most likely way we’ll see a lot of them again is when the foretellers are inevitably unmasked; a restoration to their original identities that were obscured by the abstract aspects and roles that only served to the seal darknesses away within themselves (similar to how defeated organization members were restored their humanity and original names.)

and you know!!!! we would be so shocked if we point out Urd, Hermod, or whoever on the screen after a foreteller’s true identity is revealed in kh4?!? “False lights” and all, I think it makes sense that Baldr, named for the Norse mythology god of light, who’s such a character driven to extremes, could have his moral pendulum swung so hard the opposite way to enact all of this. This whole risky plan is just his attempt at redemption and saving everyone he hurt in the most drawn out way possible so much suffering for literally everyone in the story so far like holy crap I hope it’s worth it??? Sora help

tl;dr Baldr could be MoM because of the cinematic parallels between the pairs of siblings in khuxdr; speculating why the MoM had both Strelitzia and Lauriam chosen as union leaders and if he has a soft spot for family???

Tim Drake who is the descent of the last line of Odysseus (so a descendent of Hermes) through Jack and a daughter of Athena (Janet)

Athena who misses her friend Odysseus and sees so much of him in Tim, who is technically her grandchild and she's so excited about it.

Hermes who also considered Odysseus his friend in a way also seeing so much of him in Tim and being more loudly giddy about it.

Athena and Hermes who absolutely adore Tim and are so proud of him because their kid is so smart and brave and strong and witty.

YES OMG TIM X EPIC???

first of all tim’s hero costume 100% has attributes to both athena and hermes. tim is so insanely offended about the court of owls he decides to make his costume vaguely owl themed to spite them and pay tribute to athena. his shoes also have little feathers on them for hermes (hermes maybe possibly made them flying shoes but no one needs to know that. that is a secret between tim, hermes, athena, and young justice)

of course he doesn’t tell any of the batfam. wonder woman knows cause she can feel the divinity in tim and respects his decision not to tell the batfam so she says nothing outside of a causal “would you like a spar one day?” and that’s the end of that.

he does learn the greek style of sword fighting and also archery. he makes a collapsible bow in the style of odysseus’ bow and even if he doesn’t use it much he always has it on him, both as another tool just in case and a way to honor his long ago relative. and he sees the look in athena and hermes’ eyes when he uses it and wants them to know he’s keeping his legacy alive, even if he never explicitly states it.

his morals are probably a bit less strict. he doesn’t want to kill but he was raised by a demigod and two gods and they definitely have a different view on killing. he sees killing as more of a last resort, if he needs to kill he will but he’ll also do his best not to get there.

during his early stalking the bats days either athena or hermes was always with him. he was nine and while yes he was definitely well trained he was NINE.

bruce quest definitely goes differently. he’s still at like the lowest point of his life, his mom and dad are dead, steph is ‘dead’, bart is dead, kon is dead, cassie is in a cult, the hero community thinks he’s insane, he’s not robin anymore, and bruce is *gone*. but he has athena and hermes (who by the way is very proud of tim being such a good thief. he trained him for sure) and that helps his mental state so much.

the league of assassins and the council still happen, tim still loses his spleen but when he attacks the league he doesn’t worry much about the consequences of blowing the bases up. he doesn’t need to know the exact number of deaths, he hopes a couple of assassins got out but he knows there’s a substantial amount dead.

he’s nowhere near ra’s level, but he does fight him to a closer standstill which only endears him to ra’s more and tim is very much not cool with that. neither are either of the gods. he does Not need ra’s as a father figure thank you very much. hermes takes out any annoyance out on ra’s and really shows he’s the god of mischief

tim also somehow acquires a winion. no one but him knows how. hermes and athena looked away for ten seconds when he was 11 and suddenly he has a winion who is Very against leaving. none of the batfam are sure what it is just that it never leaves tim alone for more than 2 seconds. you know how some animatics just have a random winion with the crew? it’s that winion.

tim also definitely doesn’t just go with red robin as a name once he realizes he can actually choose his own and names himself something honoring both athena and hermes. at this point he also starts using his bow more much to the annoyance of bruce and that’s purely cause tim said he was inspired by oliver just to fuck with bruce.

oliver also sees how good of a shot tim is and is trying to get custody. little does he know bruce doesn’t even have custody athena and hermes got custody of him through a fake identity. bruce has no idea who his guardians are and it drives him crazy cause hes found out they’re not fake and very present in tim’s life BUT HE CANT FIND THEM

Whats the difference between Wukong & Macaque and the other Monkey Demons in your AU? Bc they look pretty much the same so is it a power thing? I mean what makes Wukong look at Macaque and be “he’s like me”?

Short answer: It’s like an essence type of thing and visually they have unique eyes and face masks that are distinct from monkey demons.

Long answer: Essence wise, Wukong and Macaque technically are celestial beings and not actually demons, so their energies are more attune to those from the celestial realm than their demon counterparts, however they are still different from normal celestial beings, which is why they’re technically considered unique world changing beings. This is why they have an entirely different power level than those that monkey demons can even imagine of achieving. Their eyes show their celestial heritage by having golden colors both in their iris and sclera, a window to the large amounts of magic they are capable of.

Visually they’re not distinct as much ( cause 1) I can’t draw animals that well so I stuck with making monkey demons more humanoid instead of struggling since canon wise monkey demons are more like monkeys but oh well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) which is why it’s easy for them all to pass as each other and live together. Both Macaque and Wukong like I mentioned have distinct eyes from monkey demons but also they have their red face masks with their unique shapes, something that no other monkey demons have. The shapes that the monkey demons have in my comics are actually fur outlines in their faces, I was imitating the fur outlines of the actual lmk monkeys, so they don’t have the same face mask shapes as Mac and Wukong, instead I like to hc that both of them are actually more humanoid that the monkey demons, which means that they also have distinct habits/instincts than those from their demon counterparts.

So when Wukong saw Macaque for the first time it was an instant click.

From far away monkey demons and celestial primates may look the same but they are really REALLY different.
