So speaking of Noir...

So Osprey books was recently doing an online sale of their RPG line. Which A: I was not aware Osprey -had- an RPG line, and B: I took steps to rectify that and grabbed Hard City, their noir RPG and they definitely have some on-point art direction. Like the pages are fake-yellowed to look like an older paperback, and the cover is like this with fake wearing patterns.

The mechanics seem to be based loosely on City of Mists- you establish four main themes about your character, select tags under each theme, and together use this to build a die pool. You also have resources to spend to help rolls, (called Moxie, naturally.)

Guess who's excited to get their ballot in the mail tomorrow? Me! So I slapped together a quick comic, as well as a map based off of this and this. A list of when same day registration is available is at the bottom of this article.

But also: wow, early voting stuff is so confusing! For example, I get my ballot in the mail tomorrow, and I can immediately mail it back. But if I want to drop it off in person, I need to either go to a special ballot drop box by city hall, or wait for early in-person voting sites to open, which isn't until Oct 22nd for my state.

Or like, early voting in Louisiana is apparently from Oct 16 to Oct 29th? And then there's a week of no voting, and then polls open again on Nov 5th? Or like how the only day you can register and then immediately vote is Oct 26th?

Anyway, best way to figure out the info for your area is to check your state and county's election website. I've found usvotefoundation.org to have clear fact sheets for each state (including ID requirements, polling location finders, as well as direct links to state election websites): https://www.usvotefoundation.org/state-voter-information . You can also jump to each state's election websites via usa.gov, or by searching directly, though some websites are more confusing than others.

Home is where the City is

Due to Fawcett always shifting places, Fawcetites have taken to rolling with the changes to their home until it changes again. This would be somewhat fine if not for the fact they consider wherever a Fawcetite roams (within a certain radius from a centre only Fawcetites seem to be able to sense) to be Fawcett itself.

This causes things like:

Fawcettite: Huh, bullet rain today? Damn weatherman was wrong again!

Gothamite: Dude, get out of the street!

Fawcettite (can sense he is Not of Fawcett): Hello friend! What brings you to Fawcett?

Gothamite: What? No, this is Gotham. What are you even doing here, man?

Fawcetite: *casually dodging brawling goons* Well, how rude. Sorry, my good fellow, what did you say? Business or pleasure?
