My partner was helping me bake cookies and I kept rolling out the balls too big to fit on the tray and he went
"if it makes you feel any better this is really hot."
And I said " what my devil may care attitude towards cookie sizes?"
" no that you approach baking like a toddler."
I can't let him see that that made me blush.

oh okay heres one:
"sleepaway camp"= you go there for at least a few days, a week, sometimes several weeks, and sleep there, as opposed to a """camp""" where you go for the day and your parents or whoever picks you up afterward (those arent really camps, but like. idk when i went to "space camp" it was a weeklong but not sleepaway). in the U.S. at least, the typical image of a sleepaway camp involves staying in cabins, dunno how common it is/what it looks like in other countries.
for the first few i just mean like. not necessarily a stealth church camp, just like. idk, a camp where theres also an Assumption Of Christianity and just general vibes without being actually church camp. So, there might not be daily services and jesusy dedicatwd activities, but maybe theres still a prayer said over meals and shit. Which i assume might exist...
(oh and @reblogforsamplesize if u wanna)

u draw jd so spiky i love it
OMG THANKS! I really appreciate that 🥹
There is actually a reason why I draw him so spikey! I wanted him to look like his Dad while also resembling his mom a bit as well. I eventually decided to made all the brothers have bits of resemblance of their parents because of genes LOL
Here's my notes about it! :3

So... quick update on the Eurovision situation
The EBU decided that Israel can compete despite their country being under an active Genocide investigation by the ICJ. Their delegation have gone on to antagonise other contestants by filming them for their social media without permission and refusing to remove it when asked, harass journalists who have questioned if their inclusion is appropriate, and their commentators have made horrendous comments about the Irish contestant... all without sanction.
Meanwhile the Dutch contestant got into an undisclosed 'incident' with a female member of the production crew and they've referred it to the police and flat out disqualified him from the contest with less than 12 hours notice...
Which seems like a tremendous act of double standards at an event that is already marred by serious controversy. Obviously the second is not acceptable, but very difficult to understand how the first somehow... is?

I got myself some of the more purple toned blue markers and had to test them out. Also in this household we believe in left handed Kei supremacy.

I bought a chest freezer recently so I can finally indulge my grandma instincts of Make An Unreasonable Amount Of Food For Not Much Money And Eat Of It For Months
Today I bought two rotisserie chickens and made SIX large chicken pot pies (9" pie tins), used the leftover carcasses and have chicken stock going in the slow cooker, with enough leftover chicken meat and veg to make chicken rice soup tomorrow for DnD and probably have quite a bit to freeze as well.

I too would love a Haymitch POV, but you know what POV I'd love to see in sunrise? Haymitch's mentor.
Allegedly, at least according to the Capitol, there's no previous victor of district 12, so I'm assuming the mentor must be Capitol-assigned. However, other districts like 1 and 2 will have had countless of winners after 49 games, in fact I'm guessing most districts will have victors as mentors. But not district twelve, not yet.
I wonder how it would feel, as a Capitol citizen, to be so excited to be assigned a mentor position, to dress up all flashy for it and to then sit in a room filled with anxious, deeply traumatized people watching what you consider the Eurovision of your youth as they quietly despise every second of it and watch in horror as you laugh and clap. It must be so strange, so isolating and uncanny, so unlike everything you've ever known to hear these victors' snide comments towards the gamemakers, their ungratefulness for what they've gotten from their own victories and their unfiltered hatred that hides behind the famous, glorious personas you know them as. Every second in the training center with your two tributes, in the moments shared with your fellow mentors as they gear up to talk to sponsors as if they're readying for battle, it all leaves small cracks in the worldview you've gotten so comfortable with for all your life.
Yeah, I truly wonder how that mentor must feel.

What drew them to each other is that they were both willing to do reprehensible things.
Whether it's to save their own skins, to save their families, to carry out a plan... They're naturally fucked up in the same pragmatic way.
But they can BE their full, "flawed, petty evil creatures" in full light of the other.
///
///
DUNDUNDUN SAM WAS JUST WAITING FOR HER TO TURN AWAY WHAT A BASTARD
///
She should've gotten to KILL him at least once, I think. Just to further make their bond weirder.
///
"Don't struggle," she says.
///
ALSO.
I like to watch the unraveling futility of their ambitions. Rowena, Crowley, and Sam were all united by wanting status and ambition to help them escape "a rigged game."
"And it took everything from me, everyone I love-- my family."
///
///
BOOM. There it is.
See, Rowena sees the lengths Sam will go, and she actually RESPECTS it.
Their relationship is built on the comfort of understanding WHY they're willing to gut each other AND each other's loved ones. Strong feelings that they try to dissociate themselves from.
They use their smarts and ruthlessness to protect themselves and their loved ones at all costs.
And they both want to change.
"You were never gonna kill him. There was a time you would've. But not now."
///
There is such an--an OPENNESS about the bad things they've done, and Sam needs that in his life.
///
And in season 15, Rowena knows that Sam wouldn't have been able to kill her at the end there... not unless she guided his hand and helped him.
