I just went back to my diy six of crows spinoff script because I’ve been thinking about starting it up again and I realised why I stopped last time: I got exactly to the line “How old are you, Mr Brekker?” and then stopped writing and never returned 😅 I have honestly got no idea which way to go about this so for context I’m trying to keep my script very faithful to the books but it is officially following show canon (ie Inej leaving, (somewhat) established Wesper, different Helnik meeting, Ravkan adventures, etc) and I’m leaving it up to you guys -
Thanks darlings! <33

I gave this question that has been buzzing in my mind, and it's whether Jesper's addiction to gambling is to do with him not using his powers. I honestly am not sure whether it is or not all I know is that is was in Crooked Kingdom when I think Matthais called Jesper sick beacuse of his gambling addiction because unlike other grisha who don't use their powers Jesper doesn't look sick, so it was mentioned that it could be his gambling addiction which was the manifestation of Jesper not using his power so that his gambling addiction.
(I hope what I have said makes sense as I struggle with writing)
This post is not made to mock any form of addiction as addiction is a horrible disease and I hope that if you or anyone you know is suffering from an addiction I hope you or them get better <33

The crows as birds other than crows:)
Kaz: a raven. Yes it’s basic and easy but he literally is a crow and in my brain ravens are crows in lil cloaks and bowties :) (plus: second result when you look up most ominous bird on google)
Inej: a sparrow. Sneaky and small as well as smart and resourceful (but known for being friendly and kind alongside their intelligence) :)
Jesper: a parrot. Colorful, bright, fun, sassy sometimes :)
Wylan: an owl. Cute with big eyes and also smart. Also can be evil at times :)
Nina: a peacock. Fun and bright and colorful like Jesper but also more classy (but not afraid to be bold) :)
Matthias: an eagle. Big, patriotic, noble, serious, but can be more playful than people think :)
let me know if you have any other ideas!!!

Queer Fantasy Books Bracket: Round 3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Book summaries below:
Six of Crows duology (Six of Crows, Crooked Kingdom) by Leigh Bardugo
Ketterdam: a bustling hub of international trade where anything can be had for the right price—and no one knows that better than criminal prodigy Kaz Brekker. Kaz is offered a chance at a deadly heist that could make him rich beyond his wildest dreams. But he can’t pull it off alone… A convict with a thirst for revenge A sharpshooter who can’t walk away from a wager A runaway with a privileged past A spy known as the Wraith A Heartrender using her magic to survive the slums A thief with a gift for unlikely escapes Six dangerous outcasts. One impossible heist. Kaz’s crew is the only thing that might stand between the world and destruction—if they don’t kill each other first. Fantasy, young adult, adventure, heist, secondary world, series
The Locked Tomb series (Gideon the Ninth, Harrow the Ninth, Nona the Ninth, and others) by Tamsyn Muir
The Emperor needs necromancers. The Ninth Necromancer needs a swordswoman. Gideon has a sword, some dirty magazines, and no more time for undead bullshit. Brought up by unfriendly, ossifying nuns, ancient retainers, and countless skeletons, Gideon is ready to abandon a life of servitude and an afterlife as a reanimated corpse. She packs up her sword, her shoes, and her dirty magazines, and prepares to launch her daring escape. But her childhood nemesis won't set her free without a service. Harrowhark Nonagesimus, Reverend Daughter of the Ninth House and bone witch extraordinaire, has been summoned into action. The Emperor has invited the heirs to each of his loyal Houses to a deadly trial of wits and skill. If Harrowhark succeeds she will become an immortal, all-powerful servant of the Resurrection, but no necromancer can ascend without their cavalier. Without Gideon's sword, Harrow will fail, and the Ninth House will die. Of course, some things are better left dead. Fantasy, science fiction, horror, mystery, humor, series, adult

Yes, I am that evil
Btw: The Kaz x Inej masterpiece on the left is done by the exquisite Rosiethorn88. As you can see, it's a gorgeous depiction of the iconic bathroom scene.
And the lovely Jude x Cardan pic on the right is by Nikittysan.

UNRELIABLE NARRATORS; SIDE C
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kaz Brekker Propaganda:
whenever the book switches to his narration hes always going "haha.. im so cool and smart and cool and cunning.. no one can outsmart me mahahah..." and then you switch to literally any other character (well. mostly inej) and they're pointing at him and laughing. stupid ass motherfucker who's too smart for his own good
Eugenides Propaganda:
the entire plot hinges on a detail he lets the reader (and every other character) assume is true. I don't want to spoil it because it's a really fun reveal but he is lying from the first second he appears on the page and you can't trust him to tell the full truth about ANYTHING related to himself and his goals. he mostly does it to keep his advantage and not have other characters be suspicious of him but it's just so fun when you realise he's been lying the whole time
