I loooove how high jump and pole vault events wrap up. The gold medal winner just keeps going until they hit a bar they can't clear and their fellow competitors cheer them on
The Greek bronze medalist just taped up the Swedish gold medalist's hand bw attempts, and the American silver medalist is standing next to him at the starting mark getting the audience hyped up🥹😭
edit: how sweet are these three!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
helping him bw vaults to break his own world record

LUCIÉRNAGAS (2018) dir. Bani Khoshnoudi Ramin, an gay Iranian man in his early 30s, flees from persecution in his home country and ends up living in the limbo of exile, far from everything he knows, in the tropical port town of Veracruz, Mexico. While coping with the language barrier, the distance, and the longing for his loved-ones, Ramin's nostalgia and melancholy are confronted with new friendships as he starts to rediscover his own desires. One time when I was younger the airplane I was in went above the clouds I was very disappointed that I couldn't see Mount Olympus. I somehow didn't realize it would be in Greece while I live in the USA.

unfortunately City Unity College, Athens has become my enemy due to their choice of Latin motto
Tumblr media
first of all, "live your dream" is an awful motto, but also vivere doesn't really take a direct object like that, like you can say vitam vivere I guess but I'm skeptical if you could use it in the sense of "experience for real". and somnium doesn't really mean that, like it means a dream but it's more like a fantasy than an aspiration or wish
ugh, it's like, I want to say it's Wrong because I hate it, but technically you could justify it. I just know they didn't actually think it through, and they've ended up with something that could probably be translated "get immersed in your fantasy" rather than like, what they wanted to say
vive tuum somnium... fuck off.
