Here is who signed the letter saying i$rael should be in Eurovision 2024. Not a word against genocide, but plenty of victimhood statements. If we expect Palestinians with their dying breaths to condemn the events in October then these muppets should do better. If Russia is banned why isn’t the settler colonial expansionist project?

Wajahat Ali:
Dear readers, I am not a doctor. I’m just a simple writer. I share this because I don’t know if there are indeed “racist bones” in the human body. I also don’t know what’s in “people’s hearts.” Thankfully, I’m married to a doctor who has assured me such a bone doesn’t exist. My brother-in-law, a cardiologist, has also assured me there’s no specific valve or aorta that is devoted to racism.
All we have to go by is people’s repeated actions and behavior that the world can observe with its own eyes and hear with its own ears. To quote the late Maya Angelou, “When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.” Well, Donald Trump has shown his racist ass his entire life. This is the feature, not the bug. I’ve been covering him for nearly a decade ever since he descended the fake golden escalators to announce his presidency. During that press conference, he referred to Mexicans as “rapists” and “criminals.” That was the amuse-bouche of an endless buffet of xenophobia, anti-Black racism, Islamophobia, anti-Asian bigotry, anti-semitism, and misogyny that has defined his political career. I’m going to do a test, purely for myself, to see if I can list off at least 10 obscenely racist things Trump has said or done during the past 9 years off the top of my dome - no research and no googling. Here it goes:
Trump refused to condemn white supremacy at the 2020 Presidential debate and instead told the Proud Boys to “Stand back, and stand by!” (They did when they were involved in the failed Jan 6 violent insurrection.)
Trump praised the white supremacists in Charlottesville who chanted Nazi slogans as “very fine people,” to the point where they saw him as an ally.
Trump lamented that Black and brown people came to America from “shithole countries” instead of from Norway, which is a great country that has so many white people that it made my teeth whiter during my visit.
Trump promoted the racist and Islamophobic “Birther conspiracy” against Barack Obama that forced him to show his birth certificate
Trump continues to refer to undocumented immigrants as “invaders,” the same language used by domestic terrorists who have attacked Jews, Black people and Latinos.
Trump referred to COVID as the “China Virus” and “Kung Flu,” which coincided with the rise in hate crimes against Asian Americans
Trump told The Squad to go back to their country, even though all those Congresswomen of color are American citizens.
Trump refers to Kamala Harris as a “DEI hire” even though she is infinitely more qualified than him, and furthermore he alleges she “turned Black” for sake of political opportunity. (Well, he turned Republican, but I digress.)
Trump uses “Palestinian” as a pejorative to mock Senator Schumer and President Biden. (He did it again last night at his rally.)
Trump quotes Hitler! He uses his language of “vermin” and “poisoning the blood” to attack immigrants, and he praised him according to his former DHS Secretary General Kelly.
***Bonus*** Trump took out ads asking for the death penalty for the Central Park Five, who have since been exonerated. He has refused to acknowledge their innocence.
Trust me, there’s more! I passed my own challenge of listing the first ten examples off the top of my head, which is in itself quite disturbing.
[...] He does not have “flare ups” or “trip ups” or “racially charged moments.” No. Trump is a racist. He has always been a racist. He acts and behaves like a racist. He can’t help but be a racist. He has not changed or evolved or mellowed or moderated or become more serene after his assassination attempt. If you doubt me, just look at his 35 minute interview with Black journalists at the annual NABJ conference. He is supported by racists who love him for his racism. He will triple-down on racism because he’s a 1 trick pony and because he is melting down at the thought of a Black Indian woman defeating him in 2024.
THE LEFT HOOK with Wajahat Ali is right on: It’s time for the mainstream media to consistently and explicitly use the word “racist” to describe Donald Trump’s racist behavior. “Racially charged” does NOT cut it.

Boycott!
Tumblr media
"If you hate America, why do you like TOH and GF?", I don't know, I love Soviet cartoons, so I should love the USSR?
Seriously, I have the right to hate politics and many things in different countries (And no, it's not about the shops, I don't understand Europeans who are shocked that there is FUCKING FOOD in the shops, it's just weird to me and I'm from fucking Europe) , seriously, I don't like the UK for transphobia and many other things, I hate France for its Islamophobia, so this means that cartoons are automatically bad, even if they are created by great people? Well, that doesn't make sense…
It's just that as long as it doesn't say that being a bigot is OK, it's probably positive work, no matter how fucked up a country is…
Now that I have your attention:

Mujin's Takes & Casual Islamophobia
Tumblr media
This video is focused on the recent controversy involving Ethan Klein and the Ayyrabs podcast. It honestly felt like I was watching one of Ethan's rants about HasanAbi.
The video:
Used out-of-context clips of HasanAbi to try to paint him as a supporter of terrorism
Claimed the viral Yemeni kid is a terrorist, despite there being no evidence of it besides him being a young man in Yemen
Uses clips and websites from internet trolls and stalkers
Was in defense of Ethan Klein's statements about Israel, while not affording any charitability to those speaking about Palestine
Tried to frame the Ayyrabs tier list from Twitch Con as rating people from "Arab to Jew", quoting Ethan Klein exactly, due to the bottom category being "loves Sabra" (note: Sabra is a hummus and dip company based in the US, and is known for having not great hummus).
Treated the ADL as a credible source and the spokesperson for antisemitism
Overall, the video was very strangely worded and overly favorable to certain creators or apathetic viewpoints on current events. Mujin's framing came off as casually Islamophobic, as he painted every Muslim or Arab creator in a negative light, while also treating Jewish people as a monolithic group. Many of his exact words came from Ethan Klein, who I have been very disappointed in lately.
Mujin, stick to Vtubers.

Welcome to the hellscape that is this shared blog! We are just two folks having fun and doing random shenanigans. We are primarily just a fandom blog, and will post and repost fandom related content pertaining to our interests. Fandoms or Franchises you will primarily see here (not exhaustive list):
Transformers
My Little Pony
Cookie Run: Oven Break and Kingdom
(Maybe) Pokémon
As is needed with any public blog that's semi-active we probably need to make guidelines for who we don't want to follow and interact with us. (CONTINUE BELOW)
DO NOT INTERACT:
Any kind of "phobe" or "ism", such as homophobia/transphobia, racism, xenophobia, islamophobia, antisemetism, ableism, etc. Obviously, no hate groups or people who support or share ideology of hate groups like Nazis, KKK members, Confederate flag wielding freaks, "Back the Blue", bootlickers, etc.
THIS INCLUSED ZIONISTS WITH THE ABOVE TWO STATEMENTS. IF YOU ARE A ZIONIST OR CLAIM ANY SUPPORT OF THE STATE OF ISRAEL AND WHAT THEY ARE DOING TO PALESTINE YOU NEED TO LEAVE IMMEDIATELY. YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE.
Proshippers / Darkshippers / related groups who share this ideology. We shouldn't have to explain why. If you don't call yourself such a label and fall under these ship/content/ideal criterion please go away: - Pedophilic ships: adult x minor, minors with a large age gap such as 12 x 16, etc, "aging up" a character to ship them with an adult or sexualize them, DDLG and other age-play dynamics, ANY of you fuckass lolicon/shotacon freaks. -Incestuous ship dynamics, half relatives and adopted relatives count. - Zoophilic/"horizontal" content: Anthropomorphic animals that have a almost entirely animal body but human conscience (Ex; MLP characters) animal genitalia on animals or humanoids, anything with dubious or ambiguous biology like centaurs or beings with no known humanoid forms, whatever the fuck "monster fuckers" have going on y'all are weird and tread into this territory A LOT. - Dubious Consent and/or Nonconsensual content/ships. - Necrophilia and Somnophilia (falls in above category) - Anything that's extremely toxic or abusive
NSFW blogs, there is a minor here and we don't wish to encounter nor are comfortable with NSFW content; if you do have such a blog please interact with a different account.
Anyone in support of AI works; scummy, lazy, almost always is theft or/and unpaid work, and is a danger to the livelihoods of creative industries.
To those who have read through, great! Welcome in! Here are some stuff set up to help navigate:

I will always defend book Armand over this weirdass retcon and I'm a Muslim. Let them have their cake and eat it all, they support girls being raped, they support extreme DV, they support a Lestat that doesn't resemble any version of any Lestat known to man, I hope they drown in their feels. Leaves more room for the intelligent chatter to have adult conversations. The show has nothing to do with the VC universe except hypocrites.
I mean... I'm Muslim too, born and raised. I don't even know how this became an issue. I make a few posts this morning and suddenly I'm a racist and a pedo for wanting to see my favourite character in some sort of canon-like depiction. Like, damn. Now, I've lived my life and I have a thick skin but it's hilarious to me how this is essentially JA!Louis all over again.
It's such an anti-intellectual straw man argument to level against perfect strangers because they don't share your fandoms opinions. How does that truly negate anything I said and how am I supposed to respond to that? Sorry, I actually experienced rampant Islamophobia growing up visibly Muslim in post-9/11 New York. My real name is as Arab as you could possibly get, the TSA loves me. Me sharing my opinions on a casting choice for a crappy show on tumblr dot com is not racism or xenophobia, I'm sorry to tell you.
Me being upset about Armand's casting has nothing to with Assad Zaman. I would love to see more queer Muslim rep! It's an issue I've cared about since I was young, since it obviously affects my community directly. And I've said several times Rashid would be great as his own character! The absolute circles I have talked around myself to try to articulate my own opinions on my own blog every time it's come up in the past so I won't upset anyone... frankly, it's ridiculous.
And yes, the hypocrisy between people bitching about us Armand fans while wholeheartedly supporting the changes made to Claudia's character is unbelievable. Clearly, it's fine that Claudia in a "14-year-old's body" talks about sex all the times and is raped off-screen. It's fine she demands of her guardians, "Which one of you is gonna fuck me?!" and etc. This never happened in text, this is AMC creating problems that didn't exist. Not two weeks ago the same people were like "Oh, what if they're merging Claudia and Armand's stories together??"
So it's fine as long as they're getting what they want, that's the tl; dr of it all. This show pulled in less than half a million cable viewers last weekend, alright? It's really not that serious outside of our super nerd fandom spaces. It's not the successor to The Walking Dead AMC hoped it would be.
I don't talk about my religion a lot because this is a fandom blog, not a personal one. And I don't buy into the nonsense of having to reveal my private life in order to lend credibility to my opinions on a platform of strangers. I'm not going to list off my entire life history in the hope some randoms will take me seriously about vampires. And why would I share anything with people who behave like this?
But I do mention it in passing here and there and it is common knowledge to my fandom friends (Rashid praying was a fun time in the chat), so I don't want you to feel alone, anon. ❤️

Muslim Supervillains: a tired stereotype
Tumblr media
Image description: Supervillains clockwise from top left, Iron Man 1 (2008), The Boys TV (2020), Batman vs. Superman Dawn of Justice (2016), and Wonder Woman 1984 (2020). Please note the frequent use of Yellow Filter.
I decided to list all the times Muslim and Muslim background actors and/or characters (also referred to as SWANA and/or MENA, which stands for South West Asia and North Africa, and Middle East and North Africa) have been given the role of 'supervillain' in live action superhero movies.
Spoiler: it's a lot.
It's also more times than any Muslim actors have appeared as 'good guys' in a superhero movie which, obviously, is really bad typecasting and overt racism.
-
In chronological order:
Tumblr media
Iron Man (2008)
The Ten Rings, a terrorist group made up of multiple MENA and Muslim groups, led by pantomime-level villain Raza (actor Faran Tahir), and also including actor Sayed Badreya among the supporting villains without names.
Sayed Badreya commented on being typecast and always killed in Hollywood movies in this GQ article: "I die in Iron Man," says Sayed Badreya. "I die in executive decision. I get shot by everyone." (x)
-
Tumblr media
Batman vs Superman (2016)
From the theatrical cut of the movie we have an unnamed African 'General' and some rando mercenaries/terrorists that Lois Lane interviews in Nairomi, Africa, referred to only as "the desert" throughout.
All reference to the General's actual name are only available in an extended/deleted scene. So, all in all, a very shallow depiction of these characters and merely used as a prop for the Lex Luthor angle.
-
Tumblr media
Venom (2018)
There is one baddie for the entire movie and he's played by Riz Ahmed, a British actor (just like the lead actor, Tom Hardy, is also British).
Riz Ahmed plays Carlton Drake, a somewhat stereotypical supervillain doctor who has basic and forgettable world domination goals for reasons.
Despite the fact Ahmed gives a great performance, and the fact that at least here is a MENA supervillain that isn't dressed or presented in any of the stereotypical ways these movies usually present MENA and Muslim supervillains, he is still a Muslim actor playing a one and done bad guy, and it's pretty two dimensional.
Technically he plays two supervillains in this movie, being the voice actor for his symbiote, Riot. He still dies, though.
-
Tumblr media
The Boys (2019 - 2020)
Alright so The Boys is a TV show, but I have to give it an honorable mention for such a spectacularly racist depiction of a Muslim supervillain character, who is not only badly written but barely appears onscreen for more than a couple of minutes in total at the end of season 1 (2019) and the first couple of minutes of season 2 (2020).
See my post on Naqib here.
-
Tumblr media
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
Arguably the most cartoonish and racist depiction of Arabs and Muslims as generic villains and baddies (since The Boys TV) with no motive other than to 'bomb stuff' for 'reasons', set against a generic White Savior narrative. (Yikes.)
I honestly don't think there is anything redeemable about this movie either, and I'm pleased it got fair drags from critics upon its release for multiple issues, not just the overt racism and Islamophobia. (x) (x)
But the fact that Warner Bros thought this racist depiction of Arabs and Muslims was okay to release in 2020 really says a lot about the racist state of Hollywood generally (but that's another post).
-
There we have it!
That is a full list of Muslim supervillains (and in the case of Venom, a supervillain played by a Muslim actor).
And sadly that's also it for Muslim character representation in live action superhero movies. They are all bad guys!
(Wow, who saw that coming /sarcasm.)
Read on for side notes, and how upcoming Disney Plus show Ms Marvel isn’t going to automatically fix this industry wide problem when it has its own casting problems:
Side note: there has been a fleeting glimpse of a nameless background character here and there, but only once in a movie and twice in TV shows.
A couple of fleeting glimpses from nameless extras hardly makes up for all the Muslim supervillains we've had to see over the years.
For example, it took Marvel/MCU/Disney 13 years to show any Muslim characters onscreen at all, from Iron Man in 2008 all the way up to Disney Plus show Falcon and Winter Soldier (2021). Please see my post about how badly Disney failed at good rep for these nameless extras.
-
Now, before anyone pipes up with 'but Disney Plus is bringing in Ms Marvel soon!', let me inform you that many of us are wary of and upset with Disney for their casting decisions, and many other problems to do with the Ms Marvel show (x) debuting in 2022.
One stand out problem is the casting choices which further perpetuates colorism.
Colorism means favoring white, light skinned, and western features in actors, therefore affecting the casting and depiction of SWANA, MENA, and Muslim characters, lending a distorted, white-washed, western, and Orientalist lens to SWANA and Muslim representation.
What we've seen so far with the Ms Marvel supporting cast (not the lead herself) is a cast made up of way too many non-Muslim and non-Pakistani actors to play Muslim and Pakistani characters.
Brown people are not interchangeable, yet studios (especially Disney) rely on the ignorance of western audiences to get away with this blatant colorism.
The Ms Marvel show also has light skinned, biracial, and even Christian actors cast to play monoracial, brown skinned, Muslim characters. That is not okay!
Yet of course, when it comes to the one character who will likely be the villain on the show (as he is in the comics, Kamran) the actor cast to play him, Rish Shah, is quite clearly darker skinned than say, Aramis Knight, also cast in the show to play another love interest to the lead, Kamala, and general good guy. This is colorism; brown skin = baddies, light skin = goodies.
Casting white and more western actors for the good guys, but brown and Muslim actors for the bad guys, is typical colorism and Islamophobia at play within the industry.
So, no: the Ms Marvel Disney Plus show won't 'fix' Islamophobia in superhero movies.
We still have a long way to go.

92% of New Muslim Candidates Won’t Express Support for Constitution
3 out of 36 (92%) Muslim American candidates who appeared to be seeking public office for the first time
Tumblr media
92% of New Muslim Candidates Won’t Express Support for Constitution; One MN Republican Makes it Bipartisan
By Stephen M. Kirby
It is not appropriate to label all, or even the majority of those, who question Islam and Muslims as Islamophobes.   ~ (CAIR Report 2013, Legislating Fear: Islamophobia and its Impact in the United States, p. ix)
In January 2020, I wrote about the results of a survey I had done in which I presented four questions to eighty Muslim public officials across the United States; each question asked the Muslim public official to choose between following the U.S. Constitution/our man-made laws or Islamic Doctrine.  An eye-opening 93% of these Muslim public officials would not express support for the U.S. Constitution or our man-made laws.  Of the six who did express this support, only two allowed me to mention their name.[1]
I also submitted these same four questions to seven prominent Muslim Americans who have been publicly aspiring to reform Islam; I sent four similar questions, based on Canadian law, to six prominent Muslim Canadians who had also been publicly aspiring to reform Islam.  Of these thirteen aspiring reformers, only two Muslim Americans and one Muslim Canadian responded saying they supported man-made laws over the commands of Allah and the teachings of Muhammad.[2]
I then decided to submit the same four questions to 36 Muslim American candidates who appeared to be seeking public office for the first time.[3]
We shall first look at the four questions I used and then examine the variety of responses I received from those Muslims seeking public office.  I then list the Muslim candidates, by State, who did not respond.  This is followed by my concluding remarks.
The Questions
On February 10, 2020, I sent the following e-mail to a group of 36 Muslims who were running, or had been running, for public office at various levels of government across the United States; on February 17th I sent it again to the Muslims who had not initially responded:[4]
I have written extensively about Islam (six books and numerous articles and brochures) and think it important that non-Muslims gain a better understanding of Islam.
If you are elected to public office you will take an oath of office that includes swearing, or affirming, to support the United States Constitution.  With that in mind, I am interested in your response, as a candidate who follows the religion of Islam, to the following questions:
No. 1:  Will you go on record now and state that our 1st Amendment right to freedom of speech gives the right to anyone in the United States to criticize or disagree with your prophet Muhammad, and will you also go on record now and state that you support and defend anyone’s right to criticize or disagree with your prophet Muhammad, and that you condemn anyone who threatens death or physical harm to another person who is exercising that right?
No. 2:  Our 1st Amendment guarantees freedom of religion in the United States. As part of that freedom, anyone in the United States has the right to join or leave any religion, or have no religion at all.  Will you go on record now and state that you support and defend the idea that in the United States a Muslim has not only the freedom to leave Islam, but to do so without fear of physical harm, and will you also go on record now and state that you condemn anyone who threatens physical harm to a Muslim who is exercising that freedom?
No. 3:  According to the words of Allah found in Koran 5:38 and the teachings of your prophet Muhammad, amputation of a hand is an acceptable punishment for theft.   But our U.S. Constitution, which consists of man-made laws, has the 8th Amendment that prohibits cruel and unusual punishment such as this.  Do you agree with Allah and your prophet Muhammad that amputation of a hand is an acceptable punishment for theft in the United States, or do you believe that our man-made laws prohibiting such punishments are true laws and are to be followed instead of this 7th Century command of Allah and teaching of Muhammad?
No. 4:  According to the words of Allah found in Koran 4:3, Muslim men are allowed, but not required, to be married to up to four wives.  Being married to more than one wife in the United States is illegal according to our man-made bigamy laws.  Do you agree with Allah that it is legal for a Muslim man in the United States to be married to more than one woman, or do you believe that our man-made laws prohibiting bigamy are true laws and are to be followed instead of this 7th Century command of Allah?
I look forward to your responses.
Support for the U.S. Constitution
Only three Muslim candidates clearly stated that they would support the U.S. Constitution/our man-made laws over Islamic Doctrine; they each gave me permission to use their name:
Deedra Abboudd (D), Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, Arizona
Iman-Utopia Layjou Bah (I), U.S. House of Representatives (AZ-2)
Rashid Malik (D), U.S. House of Representatives (GA-7)
Other Replies
I received various replies from five other Muslim candidates:
Leila Shukri Adan (D), U.S. House of Representatives (MN-5):  On February 17th Adan responded to my second e-mail:
Thank you so much for your email and for the reminder.  I am confirming receipt and will get back to you soon!
I have not heard back from Adan.
Muhammad Arif (D), United States Senate, Arizona:  Arif responded the same day to the February 10th e-mail.  He asked if we could meet for coffee or lunch to discuss the questions.  I explained that I lived too far away for that.  We exchanged several additional e-mails, and on February 11th he wrote:
Since you do not live in Arizona and I’m busy in my campaign because I have limited time … can I email you these answer [sic] next week … I apologize for delay [sic] because the questions I have to read carefully and answer in details [sic]
I replied that would be fine.  The “next week” came and went, and on February 22nd I sent him an e-mail asking when I could expect his responses.  I have not heard back from Arif.
Zainab Baloch (D), Mayor of Raleigh, North Carolina:  Baloch lost the 2019 general election to become the Mayor of Raleigh.  However, her subsequent social postings appeared to indicate that she was in politics for the long haul; she had written: “This isn’t a sprint, it’s a marathon.”  On February 17th she responded to my second e-mail:
I didn’t miss it [my first e-mail]. If I have time to respond to your harassing questions, I will. Have a great week!
I have not heard back from Baloch.
Ameena Matthews (D), U.S. House of Representatives (IL-1):  On February 24th, in reply to my second e-mail, I received the following from Dr. La’Shawn Littrice, Matthews’ Campaign Manager:
Hi, Steve. How are you?  I will forward this to Dr. Matthews and get it back to you by Wednesday [February 26th] of this week.
On February 28th I sent Littrice an e-mail asking her for an update.  I have not heard back from Littrice.
Reem Subei (D), Ohio State Senate:   In response to each of the two e-mails I sent Subei, I received the following form response:
Thank you for contacting Reem for Ohio. This campaign is about bringing justice and equality to all. Please click the link below to provide us with your preferred volunteering activity. Let’s build a system that works for everyone, because we all win when we all win.
The link takes one to a form for volunteers to complete.  I have received no other response from Subei.

Conclusion
These 36 Muslim Americans seeking public office would have to, if successful, take an oath of office that includes swearing (or affirming) to support the U.S. Constitution.  In theory then, one would think such Muslim Americans would be quite willing even now to express their support for that Constitution and our man-made laws.  The fact that 92% of them would not take this opportunity to express that support is troubling.
Troubling, but not surprising.  As we saw earlier, 93% of current Muslim public officials and 77% of aspiring Muslim reformers also declined to make such a choice.  This, in spite of the fact that anyone holding a public office in the United States is required to take an oath to support the U.S. Constitution and our man-made laws, and we regularly hear from aspiring Muslim reformers that Islamic Doctrine needs to be modernized and made more compatible with Western laws.  But when faced with specific choices, instead of glittering generalities, 91% of all the Muslims listed in these three categories would not express support for Western laws over Islamic Doctrine.
One might wonder if it is fair to ask Muslims to make such a choice.  It certainly is because of the irreconcilable conflict between major tenets of Islamic Doctrine and Western Laws, especially the U.S. Constitution.[5]
Here is an additional consideration.  In its 2020 ‘Muslim Vote Campaign’ the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) has included a questionnaire asking non-Muslim candidates and government officials whether or not they support specific “Muslim needs.”  CAIR explained:
CAIR’s 2020 questionnaire is an update to its 2016 questionnaire and provides sample questions for Muslims to ask local city council, mayoral, state legislative, gubernatorial, and congressional candidates running for office and government officials.
Candidate responses to CAIR’s election questionnaire will assist American Muslims in evaluating each candidate’s leadership criteria and their ability to unite and engage the community on policies and programs that meet Muslim needs.
The questions and the issues included in the questionnaire emphasize the American Muslim community’s concerns, as well as those of its civil rights, immigrant rights and worker rights allies.[6]
Here is a sampling of the issues about which the American Muslim community is concerned:[7]
1. Do you plan to address the rise in Islamophobia and hateful rhetoric towards Muslims in the United States?
2. Do you support the right of Muslim inmates to make religious accommodation requests for religious headwear, like hijabs, kufis, and other head coverings?
3. Do you support the right of Muslim inmates to make religious accommodation requests for copies of the Quran and other religious texts, prayer mats, prayer beads, and other religious items?
4. Do you support the right of Muslim inmates to make religious accommodation requests for modified meal schedules while fasting during Ramadan?
5. Do you support the right of Muslim inmates to make religious accommodation requests for daily congregational prayers and Friday religious services?
6. Do you support public school systems with significant Muslim populations in your congressional district and/or state closing for the Muslim holidays of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, when many students or faculty would otherwise be absent?
The focus of CAIR’s questions is on the need for non-Muslims to accommodate certain Islamic religious teachings.  Since CAIR has turned the focus on certain Islamic religious teachings, it is only appropriate that the focus should now be turned on all Islamic religious teachings, especially those that are irreconcilably in conflict with the U.S. Constitution and our man-made laws.  Muslims running for and holding public office need to be asked about these conflicts and expected to publicly, categorically choose between the U.S. Constitution/our man-made laws and those contradictory teachings of their religion.
We need to pay heed to these words of Winston Churchill from 1940:
This is no time for ease and comfort.  It is the time to dare and endure.

an open letter to the fandom:
fandom discourse is often extreme and can be terrifying to get involved in. how many people have you heard say, ‘i want to speak up about this but i’m afraid of the backlash’? i’ve really tried to avoid being a source of drama, and unfortunately that’s unavoidable in some situations.
i’ve made my fair share of insensitive mistakes (see: the headcanons about blm) and i know that i’ve probably hurt people in ways i may not understand (side note: messages about oh it’s okay, you haven’t hurt anyone are cool and all, but i believe there are people who are remaining silent). i apologize to those people.
if anyone has any grievance with me and want’s to be angry or try to make amends, feel free to message me. if you don’t want to reach out, that’s okay too. you don’t owe anyone who has hurt you anything. if somehow you’re on the list of people i’ve blocked, feel free to message on @ebrothemes, my theme blog, or even @haatari, my main for my other account. both should have messages open to anyone.
there are some probably controversial things i support in this fandom, which i’m not going to name because that’s not the point of this post. but i’m impressed by the creativity and the openness of people. i’m thankful to everyone who reads my stories. i feel uplifted by so many authors and artists, and i strive to uplift them as well.
but there are some things i don’t like in this fandom, including hate anons, the immature ways some people decide to have discussions, sexualization of people, disrespect of others’ privacy, and the quiet but present racism, homophobia, and transphobia.
the fact i’ve been scared to speak up about a lot of this because i’ve had experiences with older (in age) members of the fandom that have been so condescending and silencing, telling me how i should feel or react to things, should be really telling.
i’ve become quiet, silently unfollowing and blocking without explaining why or trying to confront people because i’m terrified that anyone could be the next person to tell me how to feel.
however, i think the main thing that bothers me is when people speak up about actual problems, there’s a lot of frustration that the fandom is “becoming toxic.” it’s not becoming toxic. it’s having discussions that need to be had.
and this part isn’t just about our fandom, it’s about all fandoms.
fandom isn’t an “escape” for the people who are affected by the problems in fandom as a whole. i’ve felt alienated as a woman in some fandoms, as a queer person in others, and as a enby in yet more. and the way neurodiverse people and diverse body types are treated, both as characters/actors/people that we celebrate, and the fans themselves.
and that doesn’t even begin to touch on the ways i see bipoc, and especially bipoc womxn, treated. there’s a lot of xenophobia and islamophobia present. those, i don’t have direct experience with, but if you actually watch how fandoms work, you’ll see it. it’s not invisible.
people who get frustrated with the “drama” and just want an “escape” have been ignorant to the fact that fandom never was an escape. it’s a creative outlet. it’s a place to talk about your interests. but it’s not an escape. it is a deep privilege to think it is.
so when people say things hurt them, you listen. when people call others out, you listen. when people call you out, you listen. you develop empathy. you try to understand.
you correct your own behavior. you learn.
and if that’s not something you can do, than you might have some bigger problems.
i don’t condone the harassment and bullying of anyone, regardless of what they have done. you can sure as hell call people out. you can sure as hell tell them what they’ve done wrong. you can sure as hell explain things. but there’s a line.
and it’s a line i’ve seen people cross too many times. in this fandom? i’ve seen it crossed by people on both sides of almost every single issue/drama/callout that we’ve dealt with.
if this post makes you feel attacked in some way, i’d think over the things that you’re doing. analyze yourself critically. ask a friend to be honest to you.
the reason fandoms die, develop bad reputations, or have people leave is purely based on how people in the fandom act. and i don’t see this fandom heading in a great direction.
i really struggle seeing how so many behave here. despite that, i’m not leaving. because, as i said, fandom is my creative outlet. it’s where i talk about my interests. i’ve met amazing people. i don’t want to leave.

Goodbye 2019: A review of the lies that shaped the year
January
One Twitter user posted this thread, describing how there were “50-70 white men” wearing MAGA apparel who “surrounded us” and “sought to intimidate, mock and scare us” by “chanting ‘build the wall’ and “other trumpisms.” “The group was clearly looking for ANY opportunity to get violent,” they were “bumping into us and daring us to get physical.” Video was then clipped and shared on social media, the mainstream media spread the edited footage and within hours the story about “racist white MAGA hat wearing teens cornered an innocent Native elder while chanting build the wall” consumed the country.
Slate wrote an article comparing the student’s “cruelty” to Jim Crow mobs and neo-Nazis. BuzzFeed’s Anne Petersen tweeted how the students and Brett Kavanaugh are the epitome of “white patriarchy.” Kathy Griffin called for doxing the kids and Stormy Daniels in a now-deleted tweet fantasized about putting these children behind electrocuted walls. New York Times author Kurt Eichenwald wished that these kids should be doxed and denied work for the rest of their lives. Headlines included, “White students in MAGA hats taunt Native American elders,” “Covington Catholic High Student's White Privilege Didn't Win,” “White America, come get your children,” “White victimology, white privilege and the Covington Catholic rules of race,” “Boys Will Be Boys. Covington's Showed Yet Again Why Only White Boys Can Smirk Through That.”
The students and their families were doxed, harassed and threatened for weeks after. Covington Catholic High School was forced to close over security concerns. Then the original video was released that provided context: A group of Covington Catholic High School students went to the March for Life during a field trip to Washington, DC. While there, the students were confronted by the radical black supremacy group, Black Hebrew Israelites, where they were verbally harassed and racially abused, calling them crackers, fa*gots and told them to go find a school to shoot up. A black student was berated as a race-traitor and told his white classmates were going to harvest his organs. A Native activist later approached the kids and started continually banging a drum inches from their face. One student, Nick Sandmann, stood calmly in typical teenage bemusement. That’s it. That’s the story. Once it was realized not a single accusation made by the original poster or the media who spread it was true, everyone went silent, and despite many retractions, no apologies.
February
Empire actor Jussie Smollett was approached by two white men wearing Trump’s Make America Great Again caps and yelled racist and homophobic slurs at him before attacking him, dousing him with bleach and tying a noose around his neck, all while chanting, “This MAGA country!” Kamala Harris, Cory Booker and Al Sharpton were among those calling it a modern-day lynching and evidence of the fear and hate black people live with. Harris and Booker even wrote an “anti-lynching bill.” Everybody gobbled this story up and quickly used it to push their idea that it said something more important about the state of race in the United States. Essentially they argued that Trump and his supporters are agitating for this kind of violence and, well, here it is.
Afterwards, Smollett proudly bragged how he had fought off his attackers to the loud cheers of a crowd, a true badass. He then appeared in an ABC interview where his eyes welled with tears as he recounted his traumatic experience and how defiant and inspirational he’s gotta be now. When asked why he thinks he was targeted, Smollett blamed Trump and his evil supporters.
But then some red flags started. 1. He held onto his sandwich during the attack and waited 45 minutes to call police. 2. When police arrived to take a report, Smollett asked that the officers turn off their body cameras. 3. He was still wearing the noose around his neck and wore it “like a tie” throughout their entire 40-minute interview. 4. He said he was on the phone with his manager when the attack happened but he refused to show his phone log to police. 5. He supposedly received a threatening letter a week prior to the “attack” which had child-like writing and drawings on it of his name and the word MAGA, and cliche magazine cutouts of letters pieced together to spell out “black fag.” In summary, we were supposed to believe white Trump supporters wearing MAGA hats were roaming around Chicago, carrying a noose, they saw Smollett, knew who he was, knew his show, his sexuality and singled him out for a lynching.
As the police connected the dots, they found the whole thing was a giant hoax plotted by Smollett himself. When the “black fag” serial killer letter stunt failed to receive national attention, Smollett orchestrated the attack by paying two Nigerian brothers he worked with $3,500 to stage the attack on him while getting Subway. Chicago police spent days and worked overtime poring over security footage and devoting resources that could have been put toward real victims. On February 20, Smollett was charged with a class 4 felony for filing a false police report and was later indicted on 16 felony counts of false reporting. Smollett joined a long list of hate crime hoaxes since Trump took office. I can only assume because reality isn’t at all matching their delusion of the gloomy Nazi “MAGA country” they keep going on about, they’re forced to create these endless hate crime hoaxes to validate the delusion.
March
After spending two years perpetuating allegations that Trump colluded with Russia to steal the 2016 election from Hillary and wet dreams of Trump being removed from office and even imprisoned, the entire left, every Democrat and the mainstream media were visibly shaken by Mueller’s investigation ending with zilch. When the news broke that there would be no indictments against Trump nor anyone associated with his campaign, and Attorney General William Barr had exonerated him, those who were so certain of victory and so locked into their conspiracy, were once again forced into utter meltdown mode. Mueller spent tens of millions of dollars, employed 19 prosecutors, more than three dozen FBI agents and an analyst and issued 2,800 subpoenas, 500 search warrants, 280 demands for phone and email records and interviewed 500 witnesses throughout the course of the investigation. No evidence was found.
There was however a major abuse of the rule of law by Obama administration officials and Department of Justice and FBI employees, a shameful politicization of the Russia investigation by Democrats and an end of journalistic integrity by many members of the media who all did their best to delegitimize and undermine the election. The DOJ and FBI used unverified research to obtain a court order to surveil the Trump campaign, and thereby obtain access to past campaign communications. In applying for the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) order, the DOJ and FBI did not disclose to the secret surveillance court that the debunked Christopher Steele dossier (Trump/pissing prostitutes) was funded by the DNC and Clinton, the whole basis for the probe. The FISA application also did not inform the court of Steele’s bias and his desperation to keep Trump out of the White House. It was all a setup.
Since Election Day 2016, the Trump-hating political and media establishment have been in a cute relationship to achieve their desired end of destroying Trump. Their shared hatred of the man is indisputable. But the idea of them colluding in this information operation to maximum political and legal effect is altogether more disturbing. Russiagate put Trump’s presidency under a cloud of suspicion for more than half of his days in office, delaying his agenda through forcing the administration to expend valuable time and resources defending itself from the constant hounding. The Five F’s seems to be the Democrat’s only tactic, all they can do is deceive, degrade, deny, disrupt and hope that it all will eventually wear Trump down enough to ultimately destroy him.
April
On Easter Day, churches across Sri Lanka were targeted by radical Islamist suicide bombers. The Muslim terrorists walked into several crowded churches and murdered masses of people. They also targeted international hotels popular with Western travelers. The bombings marked the country’s deadliest violence in a decade, leaving 290 dead and over 500 injured. After the quick condemnation of white supremacy and Islamophobia after the Christchurch shootings a few weeks prior, the media and Democrats avoided at all costs condemning Islamic terrorism and recognizing the victims as Christians. A host of politicians such as Obama, Hillary Clinton and Julian Castro all refused to condemn Islamic terrorism and none called the victims Christians, while others such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Portland mayor Ted Wheeler stayed silent altogether. Christians being killed at the hands of Islamists goes against the entire left-wing doctrine, despite it happening all over the world.
It’s not the only time we’ve seen the media and politicians cover for Islamic extremism. Under Obama, officials were so afraid of the phrase “Islamic terrorism” that they redacted the very mention of Islam and even Islamic State from the Orlando gay nightclub massacre transcripts, despite 49 people being killed and 50 others injured by a Muslim terrorist who had pledged allegiance to ISIS. In the UK, police and child protection workers were so afraid of the phrase “Islamophobia” that they ignored and refused to investigate Muslim human trafficking and child rape rings, allowing 1,400 young British girls to be raped with knives, bottles and their tongues nailed to tables. In Sweden, the police and media were so scared of “anti-immigration sentiment,” they covered up dozens of sexual assaults against teenage girls. Not wanting to make their new waves of Muslim refugees look bad, German media and the government also covered up mass sexual abuse across the country where 1,200 women were sexually assaulted and raped in just one night. Who exactly are we protecting by refusing to tell the truth and call something what it is?
May
Alyssa Milano, an actress who has been a valiant fighter for progressive causes, demanded for American women to undertake a “sex strike.” The idea is that women should not risk pregnancy until they have an insurance policy. Uh, so like exactly what Christian conservatives already believe in. There’s something funny about Milano embracing the banner of Christian conservatives in order to own Christian conservatives. Just like when Janelle Monáe advocated for women to go on a sex strike, saying that “people need to start respecting the vagina.” Once again, that’s what conservatives have already been screaming, respecting your vagina, respecting yourself, respecting sex and the good and bad product of sex.
In championing this “revolutionary” concept of women withholding sex in order to attain bodily autonomy, Milano and her blue-check buddies unwittingly preached the same message you often hear during Sunday sermons, especially in youth groups. The Christian perspective posits that the way for women to attain bodily autonomy is to have self-control over your body and choices, to not give away your body so carelessly and to be aware of the consequences of sexual activity outside of committed relationships. Most Christians embrace Milano’s message, not just because the only women who’d participate and use sex as a political bargaining chip in the first place are those who probably need to reevaluate their sex lives anyway, but it also places greater meaning on sex and the power and responsibility of it, which again is another Christian view.
Milano, like many others, also referred to abortion as “reproductive rights,” which is a pretty new term that replaces abortion and is also much catchier on picket signs when used alongside “human rights.” The problem is the term isn’t even close to being accurate. Abortion has nothing to do with reproductive rights. By the time abortion is even a possibility, post-fertilization has already created a tiny human and the mother has discovered that she is pregnant. In other words, reproduction is already complete. That “right” to reproduction was already exercised when you gave it up, literally and figuratively.
June
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tried her best to compare Trump to Hitler by comparing illegal migrant detention centers to actual concentration camps: “This administration has established concentration camps on the southern border of the United States for immigrants, where they are being brutalized with dehumanizing conditions and dying,” she tweeted. Ocasio-Cortez continued this claim during an Instagram Live video, where she said, “The United States is running concentration camps on our southern border. That is what they are. The fact that concentration camps are now an institutionalized practice in the home of the free is extraordinarily disturbing.”
Of course, the claim that conditions at U.S. border facilities are anything like Nazi concentration camps or Japanese American internment camps is absurd. Detainees are not subjected to forced labor, malnutrition or executions. They also chose to enter these facilities by willingly coming to the United States and either illegally crossing or turning themselves in to U.S. Border Patrol, while obviously concentration camp inmates were forced to be there. Let’s not forget the little detail that any of the migrants may opt for voluntary departure at any time. I don’t remember concentration camps ever having that policy. Concentration camps detained and persecuted their own citizens because of who they were, not temporarily detained people who chose to illegally break into a different country. I don’t think there were many Jewish people trying to sneak into Nazi Germany. Even the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum released a statement rejecting such ridiculous comparisons.
But it’s not just AOC driving this rhetoric. MSNBC anchor Joe Scarborough showed photos of border officers escorting kids to showers and compared it to Nazi officers marching Jews into gas chambers. Former CIA chief Michael Hayden posted photos of the Auschwitz death camp, also comparing it to the temporary housing policy at the border. The New York Times published an article that called for U.S. Border Patrol agents to be doxed so they can be “publicly shamed" and “held accountable.” Almost the entire Democrat Party and mainstream media have made similar comparisons. Yet the CBP detention centers are not operating any differently today than they were during the Obama administration. The famous photos of caged kids are from Obama’s time in office. Even when the most anti-Trump news network CNN went to investigate, the kids had full bellies, they were watching soccer, playing video games on big flat-screen TVs, sleeping in comfy beds and participating in tai chi classes, rather than ya know, being caged, gassed and worked to death.

The British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal held a hearing on complaints from Jessica Yaniv, a man formerly called Jonathan who now identifies as a woman, after multiple small business beauticians refused to wax Yaniv’s penis and testicles. The defendant in the case was a young mother who operates in her family home, but there were also 12 other female beauticians Yaniv filed human rights complaints against which put some of them out of business while others paid settlements to save further legal action. Up until July 17, Yaniv’s name was fiercely protected by the Canadian government, as well as technology platforms like Twitter, which banned numerous women and some men who’d tried to warn others about his predations. But once the ban was lifted, it was revealed Yaniv had used “connections” to a band to help solicit advice from both women and teenagers on how to approach young girls and talk to them about tampons and menstruation in female washrooms. You can read the whole thing here.
Yaniv also recently tweeted shock to be turned away from a gynecologist. “So a gynaecologist office that I got referred to literally told me today that ‘we don’t serve transgender patients. And me, being me, I’m shocked... and confused… and hurt. Are they allowed to do that, legally?" I’m sure Yaniv will be taking gynecologists to human rights courts next for refusing to inspect anuses. We have to be careful to not misgender Yaniv as several journalists have been banned from Twitter for this crime against Yaniv. Any concerns about women being forced to touch male genitalia or biological men being allowed into women’s bathrooms, locker rooms, rape crisis shelters and prisons, you’re done for. This whole story resembles a new trend forming, such as the Christian cake shop owner who was sued for not wanting to bake a cake for a same-sex marriage: An individual from a politically designated victim class seeks out a service, intentionally from a small business owner who they know they can exploit, and the moment the businessperson declines - voila! A movement is born with a slew of lawsuits, powerful interest groups and media backing.

Dave Chappelle’s newest Netflix special was only uploaded for a few hours before the PC grievance mob went to work trying to sink it. Buzzfeed lectured Chappelle for his “truly vile” jokes and instructed him “to be more thoughtful.”  Salon spoke out against “the cruelty” and Slate compared him to that "uncle who doesn’t know, or doesn’t care, how much he’s disappointing you.” While “Uncle Dave” was once cool, they say, his jokes in 2019 make you “wince.” Vice went a step further and gave a total trigger warning to its audience, writing "you can definitely skip” it altogether. As of today, “Sticks & Stones” shows a 38 percent score from media critics on Rotten Tomatoes, while 39,881 of viewers have given it a 99 percent audience score, reflecting the massive disconnect between the media and the general public and proving the only ones who are “out of touch” are themselves. This same pattern can be seen with “woke” movies too. Media critics sing their praises and hail their progressive activist messaging and pandering, yet in reality, these movies completely bomb.
Hollywood wants to water down comedy as not to hurt anyone’s feelings, but in doing so quickly turns into telling people what’s funny and what’s not and who can laugh and who can’t. Even the most devoted left-wing activist surely can see the problem. But a comedian like Dave Chappelle makes fun of everyone and doesn’t believe in a protected class during a stand up routine, as it should be. He also made fun of things that the right cares about, yet they still applauded the special as a celebration of comedy. But no, because Chappelle didn’t obey by their rules, because he didn’t stand on stage and call Trump a Cheeto (the pinnacle of left-wing comedy), he too must be one of those Nazis we keep hearing about. Chappelle isn’t running for public office. He’s a comic, and we’re not meant to seek the ultimate answers from him. It’s his job to talk about and then joke about current events, trends, what’s going on in the world, his only sin was talking about them a little too honestly.
September
Teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg addressed the United Nations through teary eyes and gritted teeth, claiming that the world is about to end and how unfair it is that she has to save it. Throughout the melodramatic speech warning of “mass extinction” and attacking capitalism, Thunberg repeatedly declared “how dare you!” and “You have stolen my dreams and my childhood!” Sadly, she’s right. How dare a child from one of the most healthiest, progressive, wealthiest, safest and most peaceful countries known to man be indoctrinated to believe adults have failed her and the weight of the world is on her shoulders to save mankind from apocalypse. It’s not her fault.
It’s the fault of the schools who pile on the panic-stricken talk of environmental disaster starting from kindergarten. It’s the fault of the ideologues who obsess over every weather event as if it were Armageddon, whether it’s hot or cold, rain, sun or snow, it’s all evidence of the end looming. And it’s the fault of the politicians, too cowardly and desperate for votes to tell people that utopian visions of a world run on windmills is a pipe dream. And why the hell isn’t China being lectured by the Swedish teenager? Their emissions from aviation and maritime trade alone are twice that of the United States, and more than the entire emissions of most nations in the world, but we’re the ones being told to ban straws, stop eating meat, roller skate to work and stop having kids? Really? Then again, it’s easier to go after countries which roll out the red carpet, gives her a platform and awards her with prizes in return for her criticisms. The real pollution culprits aren’t nearly as accommodating.
Climate activists could learn something from Thunberg’s honesty, though. She argues that “money and fairy tales of eternal economic growth” have to come to an end. Thunberg’s dream for the future means technocratic regimes will have to displace capitalistic societies. We can see this future in the radical environmentalist plans of AOC’s Green New Deal, one supported by leading Democratic Party candidates. It’s authoritarianism. There is no other way to describe a regulatory regime that dictates exactly what Americans can consume, sell, drive, eat and do in their personal lives. As Hawaii Democrat senator and climate change enthusiast encouraged fellow activists to think of climate change as a religion rather than a science, we can only hope that most Americans will continue to reject these regressive ideas. One reason we should is so that Greta Thunberg’s generation, including her army of schoolchildren, can continue not having to suffer needlessly.
October
Media outlets responded to Trump’s announcement of the U.S. military’s successful mission against ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was not met with much praise and excitement that the world’s most wanted terrorist leader had been stopped, but with anger and snark. Many media outlets, the Washington Post for one example, worked hard to spin the killing of Baghdadi into, somehow, a negative story for Trump, beginning with a look at Baghdadi as not as a brutal terrorist and murderer, but as an “austere religious scholar.”
The Washington Post followed it up with a chain of negative stories: “Three ways the Baghdadi raid undermines Trump’s chaotic policy,” “Despite the killing of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, some analysts question U.S. ability to prevent ISIS resurgence,” “The U.S. kills an ISIS leader. But Trump is giving the group a new lease on life.” They even complained how long Trump talked for and how using words such as “dog” and “coward” weren’t as presidential as Obama. Oh, and a Washington Post and CNN journalist tweeted how wrong it was for Trump to call al-Baghdadi a coward because it takes guts to blow yourself up rather than allow yourself to be captured...
If only it ended there. The Washington Post joined other media outlets including the New York Times in debunking the “doctored” and “faked” photo Trump tweeted of himself giving a Medal of Honor to the dog that chased down al-Baghdadi. White House reporter Steve Herman also debunked the meme by breaking news on Twitter, "I've requested details on this photo! There was no such a canine event on today's schedule!" He later confirmed in a tweet after speaking to a White House official that the meme was indeed Photoshopped. Jim Acosta of CNN also made sure everyone was aware, "The dog is not at the White House." The Huffington Post wrote, “A photo tweeted by Donald Trump is getting dogged by accusations that the pic is the very definition of fake news. The photo didn’t really happen,” then proceeded to show side-by-side photos to prove it was photoshopped. Everywhere the meme was called “fake news.”
Once the media confirmed that the very clearly photoshopped dog was not at the White House after all, and the meme was just a meme, they moved onto asserting the meme was insulting and disrespectful to the original recipient of the Medal of Honor, James McCloughan, which the photo was taken from. Yet when the meme was shown to McCloughan, he laughed and said he wasn’t offended and he liked it. Now that another outrage had fizzled out, the only thing that was left for them to complain about was... Trump hates dogs because he used the term negatively to describe the ISIS leader. Yep.
November
Nine American Mexican family members were slaughtered in broad daylight in an ambush by a drug cartel in Northern Mexico, less than a hundred miles from the Arizona border. The family were traveling to visit family when they were attacked by the cartel which left three women and six children dead, including a pair of infant twins. As Trump voiced outrage over the attacks, condemning the violence and offering the Mexican government help to come down harder on the cartels, not a single one of the seventeen Democrats in the race issued a statement on the attacks.
That’s probably because they’ve already established it’s racist and bigoted to point out that some Mexicans can do bad things and there’s gonna be some bad eggs illegally crossing the southern border, despite leading Democrats including Clinton and Obama holding the same view just a few years ago. Let’s forget those behind most illegal border crossings are actually rapists or in just one city, over just a few weeks, seven illegal immigrants were convicted of rape. For the record, Trump never called all Mexicans rapists. He said there are rapists among those being sent over, along with drugs and MS-13 members, all true. He also said in the very next breath that there’s also good people crossing. Now, it’s also racist to call MS-13 gang members “animals” despite them being known for beheadings, dismemberments and cutting out hearts. And now we know we’re not even allowed to talk about the epidemic of terrorism and violence along the border, even when nine American women and children are massacred as it runs counter to the new, insane Democrat narrative mocking the need for stronger border security or the need for borders at all.
This is the latest incident that has shined a spotlight on Mexico’s growing crime problem as drug cartels have launched an insurgency in the failing country.  A month earlier, hundreds of gunmen stormed the city of Culiacan after Mexican National Guards arrested one of the sons drug kingpin “El Chapo.” In a stunning display, the Mexican president told his National Guards to surrender to the cartel and release El Chapo’s son. The day after the family massacre, more murders and bus burnings were unleashed on the city of Juarez. The mayor of Juarez said the chaos was the cartel’s response to police arresting suspects involved in an ongoing drug turf war. We’ll have to wait and see if the new Mexican president’s policy of “hugs not bullets” will end the endless territory being controlled by different armed groups, similar to the Middle East and Africa. Maybe love and giving into cartel demands will bring law and order back.
December
Democrats finally did what they’ve been promising to do since Trump won the election, they impeached their mortal enemy. The obsession with impeachment has little to do with anything Trump did, and everything to do with who he is. Democrats never expected to lose the 2016 election, especially not to Donald Trump, which humiliated them even more. And ever since, they have been trying every trick in the book to prove what a horrible mistake voters have made. Democrats have floated the idea of impeachment over fake Russian collusion conspiracy theories, drivel about porn stars and even the president’s criticism of his critics. All of them bombed. With time running out before the 2020 presidential race gets into full swing, they seized on the only thing they had left: bogus “concerns” with a phone call to the newly elected Ukrainian president.
The evidence Democrats have rallied on makes for the weakest impeachment ever launched in American history, highlighting gross abuse of congressional power and serving as a national embarrassment. The impeachment inquiry was kicked off by an unknown person during a phone call between Trump and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky. An unredacted transcript of the phone call was quickly released to the public, putting the conversation between the two leaders in plain sight for all to see in an unprecedented move. There was nothing to hide. Democrats and media outlets took slices from the transcript and came up with a story about Trump pressuring Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden’s family in exchange for nearly $400 million in military aid. Yet when Trump mentioned “do us a favor,” in the very next sentence, he referred to Ukraine looking into the 2016 election meddling after Mueller did such a poor job, it had nothing to do with Biden. Zelensky himself said there was no pressure and he didn’t even know about the military aid being delayed.
But House Democrats still held four weeks of impeachment hearings and not a single piece of incriminating evidence to impeach the president of any kind of crime was found, whether it be a “quid pro quo,” “bribery,” or “extortion. In fact, to the contrary, witnesses called by Democrats actually exonerated the president of any wrongdoing. Ousted former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovich blatantly admitted that Trump committed no crime. “Do you have any information regarding any criminal activity that the president of the United States has been involved with at all?” “No,” Yovanovitch said. Former State Department Special Envoy to Ukraine Kurt Volker was asked, “In no way, shape or form did you receive any indication whatsoever, or anything that resembled a quid pro quo, is that correct?” “That’s correct,” Volker said.
Despite clearly having no case against the president, Democrats still voted to deliver their promise, it was now or never. Unlike other impeachment cases, it wasn’t at all bipartisan, the House’s impeachment inquiry passed without a single Republican vote. In fact two Democrats joined GOP lawmakers in voting against the resolution, ironically making opposition to impeachment the more bipartisan vote. One Democrat even switched parties after he was pressured by his Democrat colleagues to vote against his will. Now, Pelosi is refusing to send the articles of impeachment to the Senate for trial. She knows Trump will be swiftly exonerated and claim another monumental victory, so let’s savor in the impeachment juices that nobody cares about for as long as we can. At least until the next “existential threat” or “constitutional crisis” they can whip up.

*Terms & Conditions May Apply
Jesus said there’s two great laws--Love God, and Love Yourself & Others. All the commandments hang on these two.
The overarching messages of the gospel are of love, of caring for each other, lifting the disadvantaged and marginalized, caring for the poor and needy. Those who have more are expected to give to those who have less.
You want to see God, look at the people around you (we’re all created in the image of God)
Want to serve God, then serve others
People are eager to find scriptures that justify their bigotry. How convenient that God wants them to discriminate against people who are different from themselves.
The gospel is a beautiful message
—————————————————————
If God is truly the spiritual father of all of us, wouldn’t God love us all, want us to work together, want us to look out for and care for each other?
Do national boundaries matter to God if we’re all His children?
If some of God’s children have skin of a different color, speak a different language, or are gay, should they be treated badly because they’re different?
It seems that humans will add a lot of rules & exemptions to match their preferences & biases.
People who have power want to maintain it, to keep in place the social order that provides them with privilege. God has been used to justify racism, homophobia, transphobia, misogyny, Islamophobia, sexism, xenophobia, antisemitism, ableism, and on and on.
It’s as though they make up Terms & Conditions to cause God’s contract with mankind to be null & void for some parts of humanity.
—————————————————————
“Thou Shalt Not Kill” is a prime example that people can distort the fundamental lessons of the gospel.
“Thou Shalt Not Kill” is very unambiguous language and certainly fits with Loving Others.
Tumblr media
Lots of situations have been identified for when it’s okay to kill.
Commandments have natural limits that are easy to understand, such as it’s okay to kill in self defense. If you’re in mortal danger, you can defend yourself, even if that means killing the other person, reasonable self defense.
Kill a thief breaking in during the night (Ex 22:2-3)
Kill to defend yourself from an attacker (Neh 4:11-14)
What about people who are fighting as part of a war? They find themselves in a situation where they must kill or else be killed. Often those who are fighting didn’t have a choice, they didn’t choose to start this conflict and may not have a choice about being conscripted.
Humans differentiate between killing others as part of battle from the commandment to not kill. But does God? Perhaps.
Below I’ve put together a list of scriptural examples of when it is justified to kill someone. Either God didn’t really mean “thou shalt not kill,” or humans have used God to justify killing people they don’t agree with or who are different from themselves and certainly don’t fit with the Two Great Commandments.
Kill disobedient children (Ex 21:17)
Kill witches (Ex 22:18)
Kill anyone who does not observe the Sabbath (Ex 31:14)
Kill those who work on the Sabbath (Ex 31:15)
Kill those who curse father or mother (Lev 20:9)
Kill adulterers (Lev 20:10)
Kill men who have sex with other men as worship of false god (Lev 20:13)
Kill fortune-tellers (Lev 20:27)
Kill blasphemers (Lev 24:14)
Kill anyone who curses God (Lev 24:16)
Kill anyone who kills anyone (Lev 24:17)
Kill strangers close to a church (Num 1:48-51)
Kill those who worship the wrong god (Num 25:1-9)
Kill everybody in a town that worships the wrong god (Deut 13:13-16)
Kill all males of enemy after winning battles (Deut 20:13)
Kill all non-Hebrews (Deut 20:16-17)
Kill children who hit a parent (Deut 21:20)
Kill any bride discovered to be not a virgin (Deut 22:21)
Kill the curious (1 Sam 6:19-20)
Kill sons of sinners (Isa 14:21)
Kill anyone who sins (Ezek 18:4)
Kill false prophets (Zech 13:3)
Kill disobedient children (Mark 7:10)
Kill people who do “unnatural” sex acts (Rom 1:21-32)
Kill nonbelievers (2 Chron 15:12-13)
Kill if it will keep others from nonbelief (1 Ne 4:12-13)
Kill murderers (Alma 1:13)
Kill those who teach heresy (Alma 1:15)
Kill thieves (Alma 17:37-38)
Kill those who will not support the cause of freedom (Alma 46:35)
Kill dissenters who won’t defend their country (Alma 51:15)
Kill prisoners of war if they are too numerous (Alma 57:13-14)
Kill those not true to the cause of freedom (Alma 62:11)
—————————————————————
Let’s not be the people who aren’t looking for terms & conditions that let us exclude others from God’s Love and from our love. Rather let’s use the gospel as an excuse to reach out to others, let’s look for ways and situations we can be loving and merciful.

On Voting
While things are still too early to 100% call for who the nominee will be, remember, There are way too many people, often at the bottom of the social food chain that don't have the luxury to not vote and throw pity parties.
No matter how upset I am, this (and all elections) is about saving lives and reversing major damage we can't afford 4 more years of. The most vulnerable minorities are always the most affected (The disabled, POC, Queer & Trans ppl, Immigrants). As one of my friends said, if you feel too mad to vote for yourself in the Nov election vote for someone else who can't. Like POC charged with absurd felonies and trapped in the prison system, and the human beings in border concentration camps who are dying while cameras are off. Someone said voting is like getting on a bus. Even if I can't get directly to my destination I take the one that will take me closest, I don't go in the opposite fucking direction.
I remember last election so many of us told people who said they wouldn't vote, "people will die" but they wouldn't listen because it didn't affect them. 4 years later, hundreds of environmental & animal regulations & protections previously in place are gone, workers' rights & assistance programs are being dismantled, families were ripped apart and deported, the affordable care act keeps getting gutted, the lack of aid for Puerto Rico killed hundreds of people, the lack of assistance with the California fire recovery left people hurting, nazis felt emboldened to march unhindered in Charlottesville and chant 'Jews will not replace us' whilst holding flaming torches, and we have concentration camps and cages children have died in, and he already tried to start a war. Now we're saying it again.
[here’s a comprehensive list of most rollbacks that have occurred: https://civilrights.org/trump-rollbacks/ ]
Help lift up the most vulnerable, more people will die, don't be complicit, we're fucking begging you because we don't have a choice to ignore it.
I think another reason why it's so hard for Democrats to unite historically is because we're the diverse party. We have Women, POC, women who are POC, everyone under the queer spectrum LGBTQIA+, different religions and cultural backgrounds, disabilities, etc. etc. There's so much to do and so much that we're rallying for that it's going to be virtually impossible to find a "perfect" candidate that everyone loves. Which is all the more reason why we do need to unite. We can't afford to let whatever minor differences and hang ups we have clear the way for rhetoric that's sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, and enforcing of church on the state, etc. to waltz through. It's much easier to draw together over what you hate when rhetoric is similar (i.e. people rallying for muslim travel bans, pro gun, anti-choice, and legislation against LGBTQ+ ppl) that what we all have in common. So please do the right thing and vote for whoever is nominated for the Democratic party.
Also don't forget y'all, 2 years ago we got the most women and LGBT people elected at once on record and took back the house! This year we can take back the senate, and more and more each year ppl are supporting progressive ideas and WOC in leadership positions. Don't act like democracy is dead, things are coming up Milhouse if you fucking participate!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏
I remember how Bush got elected when I was a kid. The votes were too close and it came down to florida (with their rigged voting machines) People weren't excited for Gore or Kerry and didn’t vote, so instead of getting a guy (both who believed in Climate change 20 years back and human rights) who was remotely decent, we got a huge war, big oil, genocide in the middle east, massive hate crime spikes and widespread propaganda of Islamophobia (the aftermath we STILL see to this day), prison systems grew, the housing market crashed & people died from lack of action in Katrina, and lots more. IT'S EXACTLY THE SAME.
WE COULD BE HAVING AN OK OR EVEN GREAT TIME BUT Y'ALL PLAYIN'.
A thought: Maybe we'd be where we want to be right now if people hadn't fucked around in the Bush elections and been so luke warm and ‘ho-hum’. That's why we're asking people not to fuck around this time just like we asked last time 4 years ago. We could’ve always been in a better place. We owe it to ourselves, the kids who can’t yet vote, and the people who’ve died in this past administration to pull fucking the brakes so we can start rebuilding.

Note
so it’s obvious you hate mcgregor and masvidal, is it just because their the most popular names in ufc rn? Do you genuinely believe they’re not good at what they do? Like what is it?
I don’t hate Masvidal. Been a fan of his for years. What I hate is his turn down this #super neccessary #hit you with a 3-piece BMF gimmick. I hate people who are two-faced and hypocritical.
However, the UFC is becoming the type of franchise that rewards fighters with higher paying fights and title shots based on how “notorious” you are outside of the cage, how many backstage assualts you have under your belt and how disrespectful you act towards other fighters so I guess, it’s part of his job now to be an ass.
Conor, I do hate because:
“It was consensual” is not something you say when faced with rape allegations where the alleged victim had to be hospitalised.
Multiple instances of racism, islamophobia, homophobia
Supporting impeached US President Trump.
Beating an old man for not accepting his drink
And that’s just outside the cage. I’m not a fan of any of those listed things.Conor isn’t running a gimmick, he’s just a shit person and a mediocre fighter.
As a fighter, he has no cardio, no skill on the ground and an overrated left that only has finishing power at 145. He’s fighting at 170 to earn a tittle shot at 155, where he was last seen tapping out to a neck crank. He’s 1-1 with Nate Diaz who didn’t even do a camp. His only win in the last 4 years is a sketchy victory against a man who had his soul previously beaten out of him by Tony. Remember when he deliberately blew his nose to get out of the fight? Remember that? Yes, that same Cowboy who went into foetal position 30 seconds in is his great comeback victory. And now, he’s being promoted up the P4P rankings over actual champions who’ve been defending their belt? Why is he ranked above Justin at LW? Why?
Because he’s popular? Name one other fucking sport in the world that ranks its players and teams by popularity? The fuck? Real Madrid still has to win matches. Federer didn’t show up at the open saying, “Remember how good I was years ago? Please skip me to the final.”
It’s not WWE, I don’t have to care if Conor McGregor’s currently the most electrifying man in sport entertainment. Am I supposed to be excited about his destructive shoulder strikes because he’s using The People’s Shoulder? Am I ten years old again? Are you ten?
It’s so childish and immature. His fans are ignorant fools who fill my inboxes with lovely notes like “Kill yourself *insert random slur*”. They don’t even scroll my blog to figure out which one is applicable. Lazy idiots.
There are people who are popular for good reasons, skill, personality, charisma, etc and people who are popular because they champion immorality. People didn’t care about Jorge until he hit a clearly unconscious man in the head. People didn’t know Colby until he started calling Brazilians filthy animals while being in Brazil.
And look at Conor. Ray Borg injured his eye after Conor’s “smash the windows” stunt. That’s the guy who was literally fighting to raise money for his newborn son’s brain surgeries. And how did Conor’s fanbase respond? By sending the man and his family hate messages and threats. That’s Conor McGregor’s popularity in a nutshell.
So no, it would be reductive to say I hate Conor because he’s popular. I hate him for everything he represents, promotes and gets away with and for being a uniting, empowering figurehead for every asshole in the world.
And why the fuck are you anonymous? Why aren’t you proud of the piece of shit you’re defending? Tumblr is already anonymous. Going anon to hide you’re username on a site no one cares about has to be the heights of cowardice. I have minimal followers, who the fuck are you hiding from?
Don’t even know why I’m trying to spell this out for you, but spread the word to the rest of your gang. Unless the entire lot of you are anonymous and you can’t tell each other apart… Or is it one very persistant person these last weeks?  Either way, end of rant. Feel free to fuck off.
