As a fighter, he has no cardio, no skill on the ground and an overrated left that only has finishing power at 145. He’s fighting at 170 to earn a tittle shot at 155, where he was last seen tapping out to a neck crank. He’s 1-1 with Nate Diaz who didn’t even do a camp. His only win in the last 4 years is a sketchy victory against a man who had his soul previously beaten out of him by Tony. Remember when he deliberately blew his nose to get out of the fight? Remember that? Yes, that same Cowboy who went into foetal position 30 seconds in is his great comeback victory. And now, he’s being promoted up the P4P rankings over actual champions who’ve been defending their belt? Why is he ranked above Justin at LW? Why?

Because he’s popular? Name one other fucking sport in the world that ranks its players and teams by popularity? The fuck? Real Madrid still has to win matches. Federer didn’t show up at the open saying, “Remember how good I was years ago? Please skip me to the final.” 

It’s not WWE, I don’t have to care if Conor McGregor’s currently the most electrifying man in sport entertainment. Am I supposed to be excited about his destructive shoulder strikes because he’s using The People’s Shoulder? Am I ten years old again? Are you ten?

It’s so childish and immature. His fans are ignorant fools who fill my inboxes with lovely notes like “Kill yourself *insert random slur*”. They don’t even scroll my blog to figure out which one is applicable. Lazy idiots.  

There are people who are popular for good reasons, skill, personality, charisma, etc and people who are popular because they champion immorality. People didn’t care about Jorge until he hit a clearly unconscious man in the head. People didn’t know Colby until he started calling Brazilians filthy animals while being in Brazil. 

And look at Conor. Ray Borg injured his eye after Conor’s “smash the windows” stunt. That’s the guy who was literally fighting to raise money for his newborn son’s brain surgeries. And how did Conor’s fanbase respond? By sending the man and his family hate messages and threats. That’s Conor McGregor’s popularity in a nutshell.  

So no, it would be reductive to say I hate Conor because he’s popular. I hate him for everything he represents, promotes and gets away with and for being a uniting, empowering figurehead for every asshole in the world.
