not to be self indulgent but like... hm... what if... caregiver grimm... from hit bug game hollow knight....
gonna give. my Thoughts below the cut. because im thinking about this really hard now.
â TROUPE MASTER GRIMM
â so theatrical... doesn't matter if you're a member of a kingdom the troupe is visiting, a Summoner, or if you're part of the troupe, he's still going to be dramatic.
â likes carrying you around. he may look fragile, but he's the holder of the Nightmare Heart - he's strong enough for it. he'll carry you around and hum tunes to you - the ones in his performances or otherwise - while he does.
â everyone in the troupe knows you're his favorite. he makes it really obvious. why would he try to hide it? what are they gonna do? protest? there's a reason he is the troupe master and they are not.
â pet names pet names pet names... loooves calling you darling and sweet thing and little ember or little flame and dear, but stars above, he'll happily call you whatever you like most.
â protective. very protective. so much so it bleeds into possessiveness. he's still close to a higher being, and they're not very fond of sharing. as long as you don't genuinely protest, you're being dragged around everywhere with him so that he can personally see to your safety.
â do you like tea? i hope you do! because he has so much of it and he WILL encourage you to try different kinds with him.
â tells the absolute best bedtime stories. a lot of the time, they're stories about kingdoms the troupe has been to, or gossip from the troupe members themselves. if you're lucky, he'll tell you stories about his Summoner, and the kingdom his Ritual took place in...
â always warm to the touch, but as the next Ritual grows closer to beginning, he becomes warmer and warmer to the touch, until its right next to unbearable.
â and of course, when the grimmchild arrives, he introduces you to the little grub as your new sibling, and reassures you that, even through the end of the Ritual, you will always be his baby first.
â NIGHTMARE KING GRIMM

given the um... nonphysical nature of this version of grimm, you can only really visit him when you sleep :(
â
he's hot to the touch - though not unbearably so - and so very gentle, and the thrum of the Nightmare Heart is audible through his entire body. if you really, really focus when you're touching him, you can feel it too. even in his hands. even in his fingertips.
â
he visits you after every nightmare, regardless of if you're regressed or not. you always can tell when he's about to pull you out of one, or catch you once it fades - everything gets scarlet on the edges and sometimes, Nightmare Essence floats lazily in the backdrop of the scenery.
â
given the fact he is, you know, the King of Nightmares, he can make the Dream Realm change into aaanything you want! playroom? sure, and it's got all your favorite toys! want to go on a walk? anything for his sleepyhead, how about a huge garden full of all the prettiest flowers you've ever seen. missing home? got it, perfectly replicated for you to show him around. want to go back to being a child? tada! one-to-one replica of your childhood bedroom.

somewhat less theatrical than the troupe master, but significantly more possessive. you are his, do you understand? his little one, his little ember, his his his. he adores you, more than anything. you are only second to what keeps him alive - the Nightmare Heart itself.
â
his anger is calculating and cold, and if he notices a specific thread to your nightmares, his anger is apparent, though carefully directed away from you. how dare anybody harm his little flame? if he had a physical form to use in the waking world, he'd tear them apart for what they've done to you, and unfortunately, no, he can't make the troupe master do that for him.
( he'd want to do it personally, anyway. )

because every troupe master eventually returns to the Heart, the Nightmare King remembers every last one of his previous lives. and thanks to that, he has an endless stash of stories to tell you, and the patience of centuries of living to make sure he tells you allll the best ones.
â
if you're upset, or just restless, he dances you around the Dream Realm - he prefers the mimic of the troupe's tent, so that the Heart can watch you two dance together - singing to you and twirling you until you're giggling uncontrollably.
â
when it's time for you to go, and return to the waking world, or continue the rest of your night's sleep, he folds his wings around you like the coziest blanket and cradles you to his chest, cooing and purring to you, humming soft melodies and letting the beating of the Heart pull you into hazy, soft dreams of only nice things, if you even end up dreaming at all.

The Crimson Era
Set months before the events of Dark Era, Dazai and Chuuya were assigned to solve a series of cases that aim to bring Port Mafia down⊠and they had to do it with Mori Ougaiâs visiting niece, a mysterious ability user.
Dazai Osamu would later refer to these collections of incidents as âThe Crimson Summerâ. He would never talk about it with anybody, because everyone who could remember that summer had forgotten⊠except him.
Even Nakahara Chuuya had forgotten, even if it was characteristic of Chuuya to bear grudges.
But of course, this all happened according to Dazaiâs plan â that Chuuya should forget about what they shared that summer, his part in the unfortunate events that followed... and most of all, that woman.
