It was an common day in sumeru’s city, The city today was lively today with many people being spotted walking the streets, as there were many people passing by you could spot someone sitting outside on the stairs steps infront of Lambad's Tavern!

It was no other then toro! the young lawyer seemed to have been there for a while.. They hadn’t moved an inch, really— After kaveh had brought them back home, They felt quite guilty, feeling as such they don’t belong in sumeru. They only really came to sumeru to see everyone, they had only seen them once or twice in the past.. they felt so out of place, they couldn’t adjust to sumeru at all, no way! So they planned on leaving.. again, without actually telling anyone.

They snuck out of the house after everyone went to bed and hadn’t been back home since then.. it had been a couple days Where they had no place to stay, They doubt kaveh, Lucien or Alhaitham even cared since nobody was looking for them— It didn’t matter anyway. They weren’t coming back.. they didn’t deserve to be there.

They finally moved, Curling up into a little ball, Perhaps someone would come along and care— they doubted it.

The most meaningful comments are always the ones that quote my words back at me, which is something I, personally, do a lot in comments and it gives me the ksjdslkjdka YOU CAN'T DO THAT sparkle emotions. I like to know what lines resonate with people because I can often feel when I'm reading that I just don't write lines that HIT, because, uh, I wrote them. Of course they don't hit for ME. But other people telling me what stood out is a big ego boost.

Okay I answered this one, but since I'm at my computer, I can actually go find the ones I was talking about.

This is the Lucien monologue from Chapter Two of YCDHN, aka "what if his speech at the Aether Crux went Bad" monologue.

Lucien pushed himself to his feet. “A lot of things bein’ bandied about behind one another’s backs. That’s no way to have an arrangement, now is it?” He cocked his head slightly. “And this is- or, at the very least, it was an arrangement, was it not? I become your herald on the Material Plane and bring you what you need, and, in return, I have all the power and wisdom of the ages right at the tip of my fingers.” He snapped his fingers and only because he thought they should in this moment did they make sound. He let that sink in for a moment and then began to descend the stairs towards the squirming black masses. “I haven’t been a poor Nonagon. I’ve given you more of me than what the Champions of baser gods will ever offer up on the altar, and yet it feels like this relationship has gone a bit one-sided. “And it’s a lack of communication I blame- perhaps some of it is my fault, yes, I know. I have been a bit distractable, what with the sliver and all, but I’m not alone in that, am I?” He placed a hand over his heart, the picture of melodramatic guilt, played up for an audience, like a performer on a stage. Smoke and mirrors. Give them the old razzle dazzle as Dodger used to say. But his gaze sharpened to a knife-point, turning understanding and politeness into accusation. “You’ve been cozying up to it just as well. Tryin’ to have your cake and eat it too, you hungry buggers.” He exhaled through his nose, cooling the embers of his temper. A tendril from Ira’s form reached out as if trying to grasp for the hem of his coat and then pulled back again. Lucien counted to five and then continued. “No, I think there’s a solution to this mess. I think we need to open the floor up for a bit of dialogue between us- open and honest and free of any agendas.” He met each of their single, bulbous eyes in kind, daring them to protest, but their silence remained. It was rarely ever this quiet in Cognouza- the walls he had rebuilt even blocked out the screams. “And I know you have agendas. I saw what happened when the sliver nearly shuffled off its mortal coil. I know what you mean to do to me.” ”Nonagon-“ Vigilan growled in warning. That was enough to set him off. He cackled shrilly. “You know I once thought you were gods? But you’re not gods, you’re parasites- feedin’ off a better mind because you can’t keep your own straight. I’m the only reason you can think far enough ahead to betray me.” He stopped at the last step he could take before he found himself right in the throng of them. He would not remain on their level and he would not sink below them. “And that’s fascinatin’ irony, innit?” His smile was tight and refused to reach his eyes. He pressed his tongue along his bottom teeth. “But, see, now I see through it. I know what you’re about now, and you won’t get so much as a thought from me until we stand on equal ground.” Or I stand above you, but this was a negotiation. Start small and build. He spread his hands in a gesture of good will and peace. “So let’s talk. Let’s strategize on how to best handle ourselves goin’ forwards so there’s no more unpleasantness on either side. We all know that you can’t do this without me. Fail to yield and I’ll retaliate- try sorting yourselves out without me tapped in.” The Somnovem flickered in and out, their forms twisting. Deep within the cores of the forms he gave them here, he could see the Pattern flashing. “I’m gonna take your silence as acceptance of my terms,” he chuckled and turned on his heels to march back up to his throne. A fist clenched around his heart.

And the Ashley monologue from dreamers.

Ashley looked over his shoulder to follow her gaze and dragged a hand down his clean-shaven chin. “Right. You asked me a question. What do I want… Hm. What… do I want?” He screwed up his face, considering. “World peace? Good will towards all persons? The total annihilation of literally everything in this fucking world?” He laughed, as cold and brutal as his tone of voice wasn’t. “Weirdly the, uh, that one doesn’t contradict the first two things, but you’d know all about that, wouldn’t you? You get it. You get that ever since the Calamity, things have been barreling towards the exact same scenario, ‘cept there’s no gods this time to punish the folly of man, is there? They locked all those doors up really tight after the last guy yanked the deadbolt out. So it just continues and continues on and on and on. Someone’s gotta put the kibosh in it. ‘Cause we can’t do this again. The next time mortals aim so fucking high there’s not gonna be a hand to slap us down and eventually we’ll push too far and it’s gonna be worse than if the gods had just put us in cosmic time-out with an apocalypse in our backyard.” He stopped just shy of building to an angry rant, breathed in, and then spoke softly again. “I don’t want that. I won’t be alive then, but if I was, I’d definitely hate to see what happens when hubris runs unchecked.” He leaned closer to her, almost nose to nose. “See, deep down, we both want the same things. We don’t want this world to exist anymore. You just want a better one and I want nothing because there’s no such thing as better.” The anger returned and this time he let it run unchecked. “Better is a lie that mommies and daddies tell their children so they grow up to keep rearranging deck chairs on a sinking ship. Better is a subjective term that nobody will ever agree to. The only thing that is better than what you have right now is nothing.” He spread his hands, eyes closing in a sudden serenity that came on the heels of the anger and somehow merged with it. “Absolute. Perfect. Nothingness. No pain. No suffering. No sense of self. And isn’t that exactly what you want- No, don’t answer. That was rhetorical.”

And finally, the Eve and Lucifer exchange from LTEDMD:

Lucifer faltered, gripping his cane. “We didn’t mean to hurt you, Eve.” The Mother of All Souls smiled eerily, her head tilted so far to the right that her cheek pressed into her shoulder in a half-hearted shrug. “Yeah… but you still did it.”

No one does a lot of monologuing in my Hazbin fics... so far.

🟥How long do you spend in edits?

Not as long as you'd think... or exactly as long as you think if you catch a draft where I fucked up something and missed it in my edits. Honestly, it depends. A lot of YCDHN chapters get their scenes written out of order so I'll do a pass on it multiple times to make sure I didn't repeat myself or that the scenes link up.

Alrighty, so one fic I have thought about and chewed on a lot but not written a lick of: A "M9 don't get together" AU where Dwendalian battle mage Caleb and Shadowhand Essek meet for the first time during a skirmish in the Dynasty-Empire war.

It also happens to be the same time when Cognouza begins breaking through into Exandria, since no one prevented Lucien from getting his freak on. The well-matched face-off between the two wizards is interrupted by an lesser eldritch horror from The Pattern (a herald of the city itself, soon to arrive, but who knows exactly when) and the two enemies must unite to defeat it. In doing so, Caleb and Essek realize they work well together, and have developed a lot of respect for each other as opponents that makes them capable allies. When the creature is dead, and soldiers of their respective sides are moving in on their position, they face a dilemma: resume their fight, or split and attempt to convince their leaders that bigger problems are coming.

It's chock full of trust issues, hurt-comfort, and intense connections forged in the heat of danger. There's a whole lot of political backdrop/framing that I don't have the energy to write, so it mostly stays as an exciting battle sequence and the charged moment of, would Caleb let Essek go? Or Essek, Caleb? Let's get that enemies-to-attractive-allies juice! People being conflicted over having compassion for an enemy!

Who knows if it will ever make it into a googledoc, but it was fun to talk about here!! Thanks for the ask <3

Okay so--this is just one of those things I’ve been writing for myself and will probably never do anything with, but--post campaign Molly/King dealing with the aftermath of Cognouza and his new life.

Kingsley has been recovering his memories and realizes he’s still Mollymauk, so he finally starts reading Beau’s journal and sets out on trips with the Nein Heroez crew to “visit and learn” about his past. But even as he begins to confront the reality of it, he still finds himself pushing a certain wizard away.

Many of Molly’s memories return through dreams, and he becomes plagued by nightmares of Lucien’s reign, haunted by the recurring vision of alien screams and black chains. Losing Jester and Caleb and feeling powerless to stop it.

All the while Molly continues discovering more of his hemocraft powers, fearing that there’s something more than blood that still ties him to Lucien. Trying to reconcile his life as Molly and Kingsley with a forbidden magic that stems from something else entirely. A lost arcane art that no one else seems to understand.

Tharizdun weirdness, blood hunter weirdness, side effects of Divine Intervention dragging you back to life after a failed resurrection weirdness--and Molly wondering if he’s better off just obliterating his memories all over again. 

Inevitably leads to Caleb offering to help Mollymauk unravel the bizarre arcane mysteries he’s caught in. Tender forehead kisses, playful tarot readings, and late nights curled up beside each other in the tower when they can’t bring themselves to fall asleep. Both of them swearing from now on they’ll be there to protect each other. Lots of widomauk pining.

I know what a family is, I’m not stupid! But it’ll never change the fact that I never got any sort of parental love ..

You got something else, even though our parents weren’t around for long.. you had somethin, anything! Hell even grandma counts .. she was technically a parent to you and here I am with nothing, absolutely nobody!

Lucien has you and kaveh, collei has Tighnari and cyno.. Hell even cyno and nari have parents.. sure kav only had his mom.. but it still counts

…not in the slightest. When I was younger I would often confuse memories that I had with our grandmother with that of our parents. But no, I don’t believe I have any real memories of them.

A specific little lawyer who happened to have relations with the scribe of the akademiya had been missing for several days, it wouldn’t be that much of concern due to them having their job in Fontaine.

Presumably assuming since it was alhaitham’s birthday they’d be celebrating aswell with the others.. but they knew alhaitham wasn’t much of a party person so Lucien and kaveh probably didn’t set anything up.

There were footsteps approaching the house before keys rattling and opening. . The person at the door seemed to be holding drinks, bottles of alcohol specifically. They had white hair, looked no older then 25 and seemed to be wearing a jacket which looked exactly like alhaitham’s

“I brought drinks! Let’s rock party peo—..’pl..?” They stared at the people infront of them .. who was this complete stranger who barged into their house ?!
