Appreciation post to the best and very well written and developed Characters from Camp Cretaceous/Chaos Theory, the best we ever have in the Franchise. The Nublar Six.

These kids are definitely the best characters we ever will have in the entire Jurassic Series. It’s masterful how well they are developed with their backstories, fears and misbeliefs. Everyone one of them is releatable in his own unique way. Be it Yaz with her PTSD after they escape from Isla Nublar or Darius with the experience that his dad died right before his eyes and because of him, he wants to visit the Jurassic World Park. The emphasis and the effort that was invested in these characters is incredible, I would rather see a Jurassic movie with all of them instead of Owen, Claire, Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler, except Ian Malcolm, he’s always a win. They show us how important friendship is, that it can be your family, your saving grace in bad times, they show us friendship is about not only being there for each other and mourn with each other but also sticking together, because just together you can conquer everything. They show us how important it is to be there for each other and to stick together and work as a team were the world is full of dinosaurs and mad scientists.

Jurassic Park-inspired Tyrannosaurus rex studies, BUT colored.

It was a lot of fun to work on, since it's making my sense of dinosaur anatomy and especially coloring. The color of The Lost World's Buck tyrannosaur works really well with an relatively accurate tyrannosaur depiction. This really helped get me out of my recent creative burnout haha

Scariest Creatures in Chaos Theory

The one-eyed Allosaurus? Nope.

The pack of well-coordinated raptors? Not them either.

The brand new (and surprisingly thicc) Becklespinax? Not that one.

The pale as fuck, unblinking, raptor whistling creep? YEP. This bitch right here is the scariest creature in Chaos Theory.

Her eyes will haunt my nightmares.

It would have been so easy, especially with short seasons, for Chaos Theory to rush things. But no, they did it right.

You WILL take several episodes as the gang assembles

You WILL wait over half the season to see Yaz

You WILL take the time to marinate in paranoia.

You WILL see how each of them is dealing with trauma and grief in detail.

You WILL give each of them a flashback to Brooklynn

Kenji saying "I can't lose Bumpy too" and turning away actually broke my heart. He's lost so much, and he keeps losing so much.

He spent his whole childhood craving for his dad to love him for who he is. He then finally finds a family that do accept him for who he is, and he loses them. And when he finally starts to put himself first, he loses the girl he loves and the boy he calls his brother.

And then he finds a common ground with his dad and he loses him too.

His breakdown scene will haunt me forever. He deserves so much better.

I am so glad he has his camp fam around him to support him.
