Been a heck of a week. Back hurt, felt like I was getting sick, a loss for my family, travel and missed work coming up, and I just have not generally felt my best. Not a great combination by any means. What does HELP though, is getting exercise. Not only for my physical body, but my mental one as well. Nothing has ever given me that ease like a good workout. Not drugs or alcohol, food... maybe music... @vesnasaltacelo paid me a great compliment by traveling all the way from India to Thailand to attend freeFORM Board training and picking up her first freeFORM Boards. Vesna is a yoga instructor, Pilates Instructor, Power Plate instructor and Master Instructor. Vesna has also been influenced by Gary Gray and The Gray Institute where every exercise is treated like a node in a network and can be tweaked to move on different planes or changed and adapted according to a hole host of different movement criteria. In my experience, if someone has immersed themselves exclusively in one movement modality, the freeFORM Board is more challenging to explain. When they’ve already moved, trained and been qualified in many different modalities, it makes immediate sense to them. Keep diving in to that thing called education. Never stop learning your craft. Don't just get your certification and think you know everything. I've been doing this for 20 years and I mean INVOLVED in it... and I know I need to know more. Problem is in this industry, people get their minimum requirements, look at Instagram and social media to get their workout ideas, and consider that "good enough". That muddies the industry and name of personal training, unfortunately. You can have your Instagram with 100k followers and not truly be helping anyone because you don't really know a direction or a side effect of the direction you are telling people to go. Quick but Effective Leg Workout
3 sets squat matrix (3 reps for each variation using dumbbells of a challenging weight) 3 sets lunge matrix (3 reps for each variation using dumbbells of a challenging weight) 3 sets of suitcase deadlift with jumpback (10 reps using dumbbells of a challenging weight) I usually do one ab exercise in between sets in order to give my legs about a minute of rest in between sets.

Exercise does not have to be complicated to be effective. . 🌟Can you see how my head is even working here as a driver? . 🌟Did you know that, facially our bladder is literally hung from our neck!? . Can you see how this simple movement can subconsciously load the pelvic floor and get your body out of the forward and down mom posture? . Here I am using a simple combo on the @powerplateusa moving through a squat to a two hand reach laterally at overhead. . The goal is to dynamically mobilize my feet and ankles along with my upper back and shoulders. . Of course my hips and core have to work together to stabilize the movement. . #diastasisrecti Beware of the misinformation about having a diastasis. I have had two sets of twins and my abdominal wall had been stretched to the max! I have functional diastasis; which means that although I have a gap, the tensioning across the fascia is good. #loadedmovementtraining #nutrientdensefoods #grayinstitute Resilience and mobility through my hips are key to maintaining great function across my abdominal wall. Motherhood demands movement in variable and unpredictable ranges of motion. Many times these movements are performed in a fatigued and distracted state. If you are caring for more than one child, your brain is functioning on overload. Being able to subconsciously move through the variable ranges of motion safely is key. That is my focus in training! @vipr_global #vipr is an amazing tool that creates a tensioning through the connective tissue which strengthens the tissue.
