The Black house, Pasadena, California... Several variations of the upswept pagoda shape are seen in the gable peaks, projecting double-curved roof beams, and the exotic turned-up forms of the porch columns.

pasadena humane has taken in 300+ animals affected by the Eaton fire in los angeles. as of today, calfire has given the nonprofit animal shelter the greenlight to go into the burn areas of the Eaton fire. the team anticipates a heartbreaking scene.
as their teams head directly into the affected areas, pasadena humane urgently needs monetary donations to help purchase medical supplies and other resources as they anticipate a significant increase in the number of burned and injured animals coming to their shelter.
please consider donating ♥️

LA Wildfire Relief & Unhoused/Mutual Aid Donation Info 1/10/25
Hello friends, I've made a list of some of the many, many amazing grassroots organizations and mutual aid groups here in LA that are helping out with wildfire relief, advocacy for our unhoused communities, and advocacy for our firefighters—many of whom are incarcerated individuals making slave wages with no guarantee of continued employment once freed.
We've seen an incredible outpouring of volunteers in the last couple of days, but could still use all the help we can get. Even donating just a couple bucks or helping to spread the word is super super helpful!
This is by no means a comprehensive list, but I hope it provides a starting point for anyone who is looking to help out. Feel free to reblog and add more as needed, especially if there is an organization you want to highlight!
(Note: I'm including Instagram links for all of these orgs as things here in LA have been changing rapidly and that is where I have been able to find the most up-to-date information.)
💙 MUTUAL AID LOS ANGELES NETWORK (MALAN) is an online directory for mutual aid groups across the greater Los Angeles area. They've also been maintaining a massive spreadsheet of available resources for anyone affected by the fires, as well as information for volunteers.

Resource spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1KMk34XY5dsvVJjAoD2mQUVHYU_Ib6COz6jcGH5uJWDY/edit?gid=0#gid=0
💙 ANTI-RECIDIVISM COALITION works to end mass incarceration in California by empowering formerly and currently incarcerated people with a support network, reentry services, and opportunities to advocate for change. This includes the 800 or so incarcerated individuals who are currently fighting the wildfires here in LA with no guarantee of continued employment once freed.

Website: https://antirecidivism.org/
Donate: https://antirecidivism.org/donate/ (Per instructions on their homepage, you can write “firefighter fund” on your donation)
💙 IT'S BIGGER THAN US provides community spaces and services to help South Los Angeles flourish. They've converted their HQ to a distribution center where they sort necessities to be delivered to those in need all over the city.

Website: https://www.itsbiggerthanusla.org/
Donate: https://itsbiggerthanus-bloom.kindful.com/
💙 PROJECT ANGEL FOOD prepares and delivers meals to Angelenos in need, including first responders and people and families affected or displaced by the fires. They expanded to a second temporary kitchen location earlier this year to accommodate increased demand as well as increased numbers of volunteers!

💙 LOS ANGELES REGIONAL FOOD BANK supports those experiencing food insecurity all over Los Angeles, and are continuing to do so in addition to providing food to first responders and people and families affected or displaced by the fires.

💙 PALMS UNHOUSED MUTUAL AID does weekly outreach and rapid response across West LA where they check in with residents, offer supplies, and connect folks to services. They also partner with street medicine teams for wound care, medical consultation, and other community needs.

💙 THE SIDEWALK PROJECT aids unhoused, drug-using, and sex worker populations including residents of Skid Row. Their services include medical care, housing linkages, and assistance with system/bureaucracy navigation. Website / Donate: https://pasadenahumane.org/ (clicking Donate opens a pop-up on the homepage)

💙 CHARITYNAVIGATOR LIST OF CHARITIES RESPONDING TO THE FIRES: https://www.charitynavigator.org/discover-charities/where-to-give/palisades-fire-2025/ (To clarify: the URL here says Palisades fire because that was the first really big one on Tuesday morning—the Eaton and Hurst fires didn't spring up until later that day. But the groups listed do provide services across all of LA to Angelenos affected by all the fires.)

Hi everyone, within the last few days, an entire community just blocks above where I live has burnt down in the CA Eaton Fire. I’m incredibly lucky that my house has managed to stay standing, but thousands of people are not as fortunate. I know I’m not extremely active on Tumblr at this point, but I’d greatly appreciate it if you could share this post and this link and donate if you have the means

So, a little bit of an update on Los Angeles Burning
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Pacific Palisades Fire is now at 11,800~ acres (the evacuation line is getting closer and closer to me in Encino, which is worrying.)
The Hurst Fire has grown to 700 acres.
The Eaton/Altadena fire is now at 10,600 acres.
And there was a super cool, super secret fourth fire (😒) in the Sepulveda Basin on Woodley Avenue. The Sepulveda Basin is a wildlife preserve, park, golf course spot, homeless area, etc. It was initially 75 acres, but has been contained into 30. It has not escaped from the Basin, which is good.
The images and information shared I got from the Watch Duty App, which monitors fires and things.
((I have reblogged this twice with updates and will continue to do so))
