A month or two ago someone asked me what the funniest comment I've ever received on a fanfic was and I didn't have the willpower to sift through all thousand and something. While rereading my old Narilamb series I found the one and only true answer.

#monthly reading list#books#i've decided to make both lists because i'm in a 'obsess over all the options' mood#and this gets it out of my head#i've already mentioned brede#i plan to stick with it#i'm a couple chapters in and liking it so far#i've ordered 'everlasting man' from the library so i won't have to read my copy with horrendously small print#(after reading h.g. wells and seeing how nonsensical his view of human nature is from a christian perspective)#(i decided i needed to read chesterton's rebuttal to wells)#i've got dickens on here because despite spending october reading almost exclusively victorians#i came out of the month wanting to read some dickens#november has *strong* associations with 'great expectations' so i've got to see if some other dickens will satisfy the craving#if nothing else i got a volume of his christmas novellas out from the library and i may just have to give one a go#i need to read some nonfiction again (essays/apologetics don't count)#a top contender right now is 'the guns of august' because i found a used copy a couple months ago#and wwi is the perfect november nonfiction (oh that reminds me i should finish 'a hilltop on the marne')#and after reading victorians all month i need to read some classic literature from another country#and winter is a very russian-lit time of year#(the victober wrap up is coming btw)#(it's just that concisely summarizing these reading experiences takes a lot of time)

So pretty ♥♪♫#Sleepy thoughts - I had my Pkmn Diamond/SoulSilver field dex/guides for all of like two months and then they were packed up again#And this was Before the Pokemon burst! Sheesh sheesh#I love my field guide dexes they're so neat and well-made ahh#I have got a couple craft projects still back-burnered - those papercrafts to do with Pokemon are still on the list!#A little Pokedex-notebook is so fun.......And I have Pokemon stickers that I could put in it or on it......ah........#I do want to! I will at some point the energy will return to it eventually#Alright so the main course lol#Went fabric shopping for plushies because yes I Am determined to Make Thing! Another that's been a bit backburnered - but I will!!!#I do still really want to it's turned out pretty good for far :) But while I was shopping!!#We did the usual small talk thing with the store employee like ''Oh what are you buying this for'' that whole back-and-forth#So I explained that I was making plushies and needed the tear-away stabilizer to draw the embroidery outline on#In my head I was being very tempered because while /I/ know that I'm making a Max plushie not many people are familiar with him (wrongly so)#Lol#So we continued and he was like ''Oh cool I've made some patches with embroidery :)'' so I asked of what and he lead with CotL's crown#And then-#Look Zarla's work was Already on my mind with Max as my project I was in a Delicate Way already do you really expect me not to talk about it#The answer was no and he walked away with a Vargas recommendation in his pocket I hope he enjoyed it lol#And I got my fabric and started work on Max's face it's fine it all worked out in the end it's all good it's great lol#I Was encouraged to come back with my finished project so that's on my to-do once I get him in a presentable state haha

So far my experience reading North and South is 80% loving the descriptions, the characters, Mr. Thorton’s smile, the array of discussions set against such a bleak backdrop
And 20% is me yelling “yes, ok, we GET IT. EVERYONE LOVES FREDERICK OK.”

Unable to draw for a month and b.) Being incapable of doing almost anything else except laying in bed-#Thinking about freenoodles over the same period of time are a terrible combination!! for me this is great for everyone else#I am so overwhelmed- happy!! oooohohoh baby im back in business i got into a new area to explore and i got a bunch of new green things to click on and find items in and i talked to an incredibly shady mob boss and he gave me. a giant novelty check? to pay my rent with? so i'm totally in his pocket and that's not looking good BUT i've still got kim with me and kim thinks it's important that i don't sleep on the streets, so i'm proving to him that i can be a professional by doing the field autopsy with him at 9pm in the dark . also i finally leveled up my volition so i might not like . suffer dizzy spells of low morale every time i remember what dire straits im in. AND I LEARNED MY NAME jesus yeah that was a big one. the mob boss used it so now i know more or less that i have a name. but that was while having a panic attack about my lost gun. so ya win some ya lose some
#so many more tasks now tho#every time i accomplish three i wind up with six more#my favorite tasks are the secret ones bc i FEEL like ive checked something off the list#but by far the very best part of the game is clicking on green things. it's like an advent calendar it's great i love it#i love you green things#i dont love the ominous worldbuilding hints that seem to be suggesting that even if i do solve the mystery#everything will go very bad anyway. but hey . ive got kim. and ive got my snakeskin boots#disco elysium#so so so sad the first time i hear my name in my current fragile state is when a mob boss is mocking me . so sad

agents of shield s7 really was a shockingly good conclusion to something I like… like on it’s own it’s a good season but I don’t really realize how highly I think of it overall (it’s not agents of shield s4 who’s praises I’ll sing any day of the week) until I think about how many concluding seasons or books of shows or series I love could have been better if they were more like it in a variety of ways…
#s speaks#currently inspired by me venting about my wishes for a raven king where Blue’s mirror powers were treated more like May’s empath powers#(which is funny since apparently Maggie’s og draft gave Blue literal empath powers although mirror is still in that vain to an extent)#and her having feelings and anger and resentment once LMD Coulson comes into the picture but she doesn’t see him as her Coulson#but also the way he can be a neutral space for her while she’s navigating the powers is comforting#I would have Lurved an arc like that for Blue/Bluesey#and the questioning if he’s real or not thread for Coulson himself and everyone around him and their relationships#which is helped by the existence of s6 which wasn’t the best aos season (although even though it had messy parts I liked how focused on May#it was and that Ming got to shine a lot. I could have done with less fs and far less Deke but that’s-)#but if that season didn’t exist at all s7 wouldn’t have landed because we needed to see those chars Without Coulson. If they had just#skipped to Daisy slamming the button and that’s that then he’s off on his road trip and that’s that—#but outside of trcbrainrot magicians could have used that season as a model so could legacies so could a lot of different genre things w#unsatisfying endings#sometimes I will have to do a list of my favorite conclusions to things since there’s definitely less that I wholly am a fan of and more I’#so so on or dislike.#in terms of tv shows would say community agents of shield and person of interest are the main ones that really hold up to me and are great#endings to shows I cared about#for books: CP2 TKM and others I can’t think of rn

Civil War history/Presidential history
D.E. Stevenson books (and other mid-tier vintage light fiction)

And I'm sure there are others that I'm forgetting
#books#monthly reading lists#some of these may just make up my july list#this is not great in terms of getting books read#because as soon as i start one a different craving hits#or i want to satisfy all cravings at once#yesterday i started five different books#jane of lantern hill (good it's already on my reading list)#a sci-fi (hopefully short and quick)#a sample of the second book in that maid maleen trilogy (prob not in the mood to go further)#a wilkie collins book (excellent so far)#(will unfortunately take a while but since there's a librivox i can make use of driving time so it's like a free space)#and an una silberrad that was a total impulse when glancing at the epub reader app#i also stayed up way too late reading these#and MEANWHILE i've got a whole stack of library books i need to get to#AND i'm SUPPOSED to be reading some books from my shelf#impulse control and me are not on great terms in the summertime

#got everything on my list done :)#changed my lockscreen wallpaper for the first time in like? 5 years?#got some things i've been needing#really great meeting w my supervisors for my dissertation#i wore a CUTE FIT!!! so cute !!! it finally made it out of the house!!#and i got this bougie ass foundation serum that was on sale and wore it for the first time today and WOW!#it's so good. genuinely have never LIKED a foundation or anything like that but it's really really nice#and yeah. just happy. and if u made it this far i hope u are too! <3

I am! :D#Partially just wanna catch up with all the end of/beginning of month stuff#I'll go over it more in the post(s) it(them)self but so much of my motivation stemmed from just wanting to Get Stuff Done!#In this case a Ghost of this scale - oops lol - ended up being a little too much in the time frame I set aside#But it was a really great learning experience :) A partial success that I greatly enjoyed!#I am a Little frustrated that it's staying on my plate in a backburnered way :P#The whole point was to try and Finish a thing and this technically added to that list pft#But I'm still happy I did it - I learned a lot and I can apply that going forward!
