The independent religious bookstore is the only place you can go on an overpriced shopping spree and feel good about it.

#i was going there to get a baptism gift #(guess who gets to be godmother again!)#(those girls are going to be getting identical presents their whole life)#i went with a crucifix for the baptism present since their statues are very picked over #and the godfather already got one for her (kind of) patron saint #i also got a holy card for her definitely patron saint #and a blanket that was way too expensive but it was pink and guardian angel and also had her name #so it's like it was made for her baptism #and then there was a gorgeous nativity set advent wreath for 75% off so that's for me #plus two 75% off slightly damaged children's book versions of the christmas story #so there's a christmas present for both goddaughters #then a book about catholic motherhood for my sister-in-law since i have her for secret santa #and then i threw in an advent devotional that looks pretty good #i wasn't even trying to buy stuff it all just jumped out at me #but when you're buying from the cute friendly old lady you don't even feel bad about buying more than intended #i feel kind of bad having her wrap the crucifix for me #but also i can't turn down the nostalgic joy of having your present gift-wrapped at the shop #i think that 'gift-wrapper at department store' is one of my nostalgic obsolete dream jobs

I have to see the cardiologist tomorrow and they're gonna stick a bunch of sensors to me and do several tests, including an ultrasound of my heart

I am gonna be so covered in adhesive and goo... not looking forward to it

Gonna try to shave the sides and back of my hair really short tonight so hopefully it will at least be easier to clean out the adhesive that will surely get in my hair. Maybe

Birthmas manga and merch haul

#prince's talk tag #this was the stuff I bought when I went to the city two days ago for my bday #it was a great day i bought so much b.l. and s.tar r.ail stuff #i did make a mistake on my part bc usually i buy one shots #bc i know its only one book instead of having to worry about an unknown number of volumes #i dont always follow this but i try to stick to one shots when buying b.l.#but with one of them i think i was really into the blurb that i failed to see the 1 on the cover indicating therell be more #eeh its fine if i like ill just collect it #but the other ones i read the blurbs and went 'oooo interesting! add to cart' and then physically put it in my shopping basket #the light novel tho that was intentional i love that series and i wanna see how sayaka's middle relationship played out #bc it did not end pretty from what we learned from the main series #i do have to finish it im up to vol 6 #the p.r.s.k. book i was not expecting to see at kino like i didnt know it existed. but its p.r.s.k. so ofc i bought it #and now the merch. kino had a table and wall dedicated to ge.npa.ct and s.tar r.ail (more the former than the latter)#but i went ham on the s.tar r.ail stuff when i saw faves 2 and 3 (they only had up to xi.anzh.ou characters‚ no pe.nac.ony)#but that was ok i bought what i saw #and they even had bookmark sized boards of the aeons so i got my faves #the cards in the last pic came in a box and at first i thought they were blind boxes so i bought two but both had the same cards in them #so imma give one to my cousin and kept one for myself #this was the only way pen.aco.ny characters were available and look its my number one fave!! hes going in my photocard book #so while i don't play ge.nsh.in anymore i do like the characters and the lore #and i like Alh.ait.ham so when i saw something with him on it and it was the last one they had i bought it #its a keychain and a standee so i have him sitting on my desk rn #and then i saw only one instance of mi.lgr.am merch in the form of those keychains so i bought two with expressions i like #they didnt gave 02‚ 03 or 04 tho i was curious what they looked like

starting to kind of date someone right before christmas is so stressful fr. do i get him a gift or what we've been on two dates but i'm seeing him tonight n it's christmas eve.....but what if he didn't get me anything then it will be weird.....

Some mild existential dread in the house today

#im just feeling reeeeally really drained #works taking a LOT out of me #like. it feels less intense day to day? or maybe im reacting less? but its still very much piling up #and im just feeling very...idk. like im still waiting for permission to live my life #except now the permission osnt coming from any one person its. having the money to docit #and the time and the energy #and i guess thats just what adult life is? waiting #and hoping #and along the way losing sight of what i even wanted in the first place because im so *tired*#idk. i definitely need a project of some kind but im struggling to settle on something and then organise it #i have stuff to do today anyway. alfie had a lil bit of emergency cash saved so i need to go shopping #and i need to tidy the kitchen and do some dishes #and have a bath and shave at some point #i also want to draw but again. struggling ti pick something and idk if ill have the executive function spare #AND i want to try and be more social and talk to folks but thats its own kind of difficult #part of me would like a disc server that just has all of my friends in it bc i find it easier to dip in and out of conversarions #but i imagine that would be weird for folks who dont know each other #idk. lot goin through my mind when all i really want is sleep #which also hasnt been...greeeeat lately #mainly because Alfie wakes me up in the mornings bc they dont like being alone but also have a very different sleep schedule to me #and can take multiple smaller naps over a day whereas i really need a solid 8 or so hours or i just. dont fully switch on #but theyre also struggling atm (mentally and also they got an injury at work AND seperately broke their foot ffs)#so they need me more and its just #this never ending cycle of SOMETHING needs my attention #and its fucking exhausting asfghfkd #but!!! we keep goin!!!!! been applying for a bunch of jobs and havent heard anything positive yet but. we keep tryin huh

Does anyone have any supportive shoe recs?

My feet are agony at the moment, any pressure on the bottom of my foot is painful and I can barely walk or stand. I think the pain is probably plantar fasciitis maybe? But I also have flat feet and was told as a kid to wear there insoles which never fit in any shoes ever.

The majority of other med students and a lot of med staff wear sketchers and similar things but they seem very cushiony and not very supportive?? But I'm loosing the will to live trying to research this shit

#just thinking thoughts...#woke up to construction noises literally outside my window this morning...#then spent several hours sick with worry abt vege guy.#then another stressed hour waiting for him as I realized we were going 2 be late to the appt.#and then I got a bad grade in dentistry...#the doctor said that I could brush closer to the roots. there was a lot of stuff they had to clean out this time so it hurt more #but I think it's understandable... the period of time right after I got my tooth pulled I was probably too delicate in brushing my teeth #and then we got nice dinner!! which was super lovely and nice!!#and then we went shopping which we are both really bad at. I had to go to the bathroom for half of the time but there was none...#I should really at least shower before going to bed but I think I'm too tired for it...#well maybe I should try? I think I'd have more energy to like. idk. post chorus or something if I went to shower.#yeah I think I'll go shower. showering always helps
