Okay so yall know that old tumblr post someone made about a fairytale esque love story where everyone wants to marry a beautiful woman, so she tells them that if they can get the key to her house off of her cat’s neck, she’ll marry them? And no one can catch the cat, until one guy learns that you can just become the cat’s friend, and it will let you take the key freely, and then it turns out the woman is a shapeshifter and she was the cat the whole time? ok i’m gonna talk about atsv real quick so spoilers!!

I think it’s so cool that both of our “bad guys” in atsv are people who found themselves corrupted by power. the spot is more straightforward, bragging the whole movie as he gets more and more powerful.

but miguel slowly let the idea of controlling something get to his head. his intro saying “i don’t always like what i have to do, but someone’s got to do it.” like it’s so obvious he thinks he’s in the right, but he’s so overridden by the need to feel in power that it clouds his vision to any other perspective.

it puts our leads in the position to accept how things are, or to put power in its place. it all comes back to “with great power comes great responsibility.” they have a choice, it was even showcased in gwen’s dad giving up his badge (a symbol of power) he CHOSE to reconnect with his daughter. and it’s so cool to see everything come full circle oh my god i loved this movie SO much.
