College AU

Alpha!Feysand x Omega!Reader

Reader's never dated and alpha let alone have them help her through her heats. Her parents keep trying to sell her to alphas, she keeps almost chomping their dicks off (this makes me giggle lol) so finally they give up on pairing her off for a bit and let her go to college

The college would be mainly betas but all alphas and omegas live in the same dorms (her parents sent her here specifically hoping she'd find an alpha/go into heat and be claimed (assholes))

Reader's dorm room is squished between two alpha's rooms, probably Feyre and Mor (maybe omega Elain instead of Mor idk yet) she gets to uni a bit after the start of the semester, so most people are already settled in with friends and everything, she doesn't mind, she's just happy to be here at all (fuck her parents)

There's a lil tradition in the dorms that whenever an omega goes into heat, all the alphas offer a piece of clothing/bedding to them for their nest (if they're interested in the omega). Also a nurse/school official checks in on the omega a few days before their heat to see if any alphas are allowed to help them if things get bad, and to assign a security guard

Reader's first heat goes well enough, doesn't accept any offers from alphas, also doesn't put down any alpha as someone that can help her.

In the between phase before her next heat, she gets closer with Feysand and the IC, her body starts reacting in different ways than usual to Feysand (she wants theeeeem), she notices that and is just. Confused. Cause yeah she likes hanging out with them... and a brush of one of their hands on her cheek sends her heart racing... but there's two of them and that's... she doesn't know how to accept her feelings for them

Her second heat in college is different from the start, even the build up to it. She feels needier than ever and like she might actually need someone to help her through it. So when the nurse asks... she puts down both Feyre and Rhys as alphas that can help her. And when they both offer her a piece of clothing she accepts it. And later that night they bring her one of their blankets (she takes it, she can't help it they smell so good)

Her heat is brutal from the start, non stop pain and burning heat rushing through her, she's nearly feral (not in a good way) by the time she's crying out for an alpha, and Feyre and Rhys are brought to her room.

Once they enter she flings herself at Rhys, wrapping her legs around his hips and snuggling her face into his neck immediately. Feyre's gentle hands smooth her hair out and run over her back. They ask if they can go into her nest, she nods enthusiastically from where she's still scenting Rhys.

Feyre gets into the nest, and Rhys places her down next to Feyre, but doesn't enter. Cue the sad whines and keens from the poor lil omega, but Rhys insists that he has to go get her food, as there's no signs she's eaten in the first three days of her heats. Feyre takes over as snuggle controller, pulling her against her chest and running her fingers through her hair.

Just their scent is enough to calm the overwhelming need and pain, and when Rhys returns he forces her to sit up (laying against Feyre still thoooo) and feeds her a bowl of soup, ignoring her grabby hands against his chest and neck for now.

And of course typical omegaverse smut n everything. But more sweet, since it's her first time with an alpha and also they might be wrapped around her finger already

Where are the women in Seven Seas translations?

Seven seas announced they’re going to be publishing some more danmei titles and I’m super excited to give Married Thrice to a Salted Fish a shot, I hear really good things from fans!

However

Just counting what’s been released already we’re nearing 90 danmei books and I’m kind of starving for ANY female leads coming out of China. Because they exist! And sometimes they’re even just as well written as all these male leads.

But it’s sooo much harder to find good translations for female lead novels- even unofficial ones.

Idk where the disconnect is coming from….is it because they’re more commonly palace or boudoir dramas rather than xianxia action? So western audiences don’t want them?

Apothecary Diaries is a contender for anime of the year on Crunchyroll and it’s just Japan’s take on a MASSIVE genre in China. I don’t believe there isn’t any interest for them. If you like Apothecary Diaries, you like Greetings, Ninth Uncle. They’re almost the exact same thing.

This isn’t a callout so much as a genuine question. I know a reason so few popular Korean manhwa make it into American bookstores is because their licensers are pretty aggressive about keeping it on certain apps and subscription services. Is it the case with these as well?

This is mostly me whining that September Flowing Fire STILL isn’t on my shelf like three years into this Chinese boom, even as stuff like My Husband and I Sleep in a Coffin gets published. Which isn’t a dig, I plan to check that title out as well- and all official translations are incredible opportunities for western readers.

HOWEVER, we simply aren’t working off of popularity rankings at this point if novel updates stats are to be believed. So what else is making every new import a men-only affair?

favorite horse breed?

ever since i wrote that unnecessarily long essay post about horse taxonomy i have become very fond of ponies and shorter horses i think they deserve more love and attention as they are more sustainable and a bit less dangerous as well as being very cute however i love all horses no matter what except that one i posted a long time ago though i acknowledge it still deserves love i just recognize my incapability to deliver it in reasonable quantities to that one horse

as this all began as a stupid inside joke with myself i actually dont know a lot about specific horse breeds or facts unless i fall down extensive research holes and i dont have much time to now with my time traveling dog so i implore all of you to infodump to your hearts content about your favorite horses and breeds and even just horse facts in the notes of this post i need to learn and immerse myself further in the horseblr culture
