Do u have headcanons about or what do you think about a 90s or 00s AU (maybe) where Curly Shepard is a punk and Ponyboy a goth or a babybat? ^_^ Like imagine purly but ponyboy tries to show his obsession for edgar allan poe and curly or the gang JUST DON'T GET IT 😭

(for context who dont know, baby at is the name for like ppl who r newly goth basically, theyre just starting out listening to music n stuff like that)

•since curly is punk here and the whole idea of punks is essentially anti establishment and love individuality i will NOT make him make fun of pony for being goth, especially when hes a babybat hes just embracing himself

•also curly is curly i feel like hes a bit morbid himself and would be at the very least interested in edgar allen poe, so even if he wasnt punk he wouldnt make fun of pony for liking him, even if he does thats just bc hes being friendly and just does NOT like poetry

•ill place this in like, late 90s and early 2000s, so there is that huge thing against goths and punks for being ‘weird’ and against god or something along those lines

•curlys pretty used to being targeted for being different for his punk style and such while pony isnt exactly used to that so i imagine that hes more protective while ponys trying to figure himself out in that regard

•some bands pony would b interested in is evanescence, the cure, and siouxsie and the banshees, london after midnight, of course there IS more but these r like more so his favs

•how pony found out about gothic bands was like, a song was playing in darrys car radio and darry didnt rlly like it so he changed it but the song was already stuck in ponys head

•he brought it up to curly but pony was just like ‘idk maybe itll pass’, it in fact DID not pass and later they was just chillin in curlys car and the song came back on the radio and pony was like ‘neuron activated’

•curly was personally not rlly into the song, but hey, ponys happy so its whatever

•personally i imagine that pony doesnt have a gothic STYLE more so he has a love for gothic songs and literature, yknow what i mean??? but maybe he does borrow some clothes from curly thats more on the gothic side or thrifts some clothes

•other than edgar allen poe, he does like phantom of the opera, frankenstein, dracula, carmilla, dr jekyll and mr hyde, also he would like ruby gloom (thank my gf for this hc)

•his art style is kinda influenced by those media actually

•as for what type of goth he is i could mostly see him being like a geek goth, but he is interested in the looks of victorian goths and gothabilly goths

•tbh, not much to add for this guy, punk curly is literally just regular curly but more understanding of who he is and what he wants in the world yknow??

•think of curly but actually a lil more, idk thought provoking in his own curly way with a better understanding of the world

•he is from a haitian household tho and haitian moms especially tend to be more, religious and all that jazz, so while tim and angela get their ears yelled off for well being them, its especially happening to curly bc in his moms eyes hes “turning away from god” n what not being a “vagabon” as many haitian moms would put it

•he likes customizing his own clothes, he thrifts and gets a bunch of hand me downs so might as well make them look cooler

•hes a graffiti artist and hes acc pretty well known, everyone knows its him but they dont rlly say anything cause 1) hes curly shepard but 2) his work rlly isnt that bad actually

•i could totally see him liking green day and he does NOT like fall out boy but he does like a coulle of songs from them (much to his dismay

But Wends havint a vision?? While she's kissing him? Imagine that but wenclair.. not the whole "Oh Enid's the monster" but like just seeing them in the future and it's actually more like a Dove vision

Like now I'm just imagining in a wenclair version/au where Enid and Wednesday are gfs and are happy together Wednesday's visions turn more into Dove like visions- like, she still has her Raven visions, but every now and then (usually around Enid) she gets a Dove vision and I'm just rambling by now

BAXK TO TYLER MAYBE BEING YHE HYDE (also what's up with movies recently having a whole Hyde/Jekyll thing?) LIKE I AM SIMPLY FLABBERGASTED? also man people really do die around Wednesday a lot/ don't stick around :(

Also when Eugene got attacked I thought he died and I was just sitting there with my hand over my mouth and I was so damn surprised. Fisherman’s Knot by @scribefindegil (Gravity Falls): this fic. this fic is the first GF fic I remember ever reading and it set the standard so high and it still means so much to me. its depiction of depression is so vivid and real it can be hard to read, but that only makes the heartfelt promise that it can get better so powerful. anyway this fic helped me deal with my own depression and also makes me want to cry at all sea shanties forever 

In Search of Antidotes by azhdarchidaen (Gravity Falls): the 1800s Jekyll and Hyde-styled Mystery Trio AU you didn’t know you needed until just now. Bill is terrifying, Stan is stubborn and just the right kind of gritty, Ford faints dramatically, it’s all there. 

An Outreached Hand by @dubsdeedubs (Ghost Trick/Gravity Falls): EXCUSE ME a Ghost Trick-Gravity Falls crossover? YOU MAD GENIUS. seriously this is the last thing I ever expected to happen but good gosh does it have me hooked. you don’t even need to have played Ghost Trick to read it, which is quite a trick considering how hard Ghost Trick is to explain. 

Solivagant by penhaligon (Breath of the Wild): an absolutely beautiful second-person take on the game that gorgeously draws out the achingly lonely feeling of traveling through an empty Hyrule, and really delves into Link’s struggle to regain his strength. sadly there’s only three chapters but I live in hope that one day there will be more. 

Equilibrium by PSW (Star Trek: TOS): listen I have read a lot of Star Trek novels and I’m here to tell you that this fic is the best Star Trek novel I’ve ever read. the triumvirate bonds (and suffers), Bones gets to be absolutely kickass awesome, it will have you on the edge of your seat for chapter after chapter, and it feels amazingly true to the series but also takes the time to delve into the characters’ emotions and reactions in a way that TOS never really did but should have. basically it’s the TOS novel I always truly wanted. 

Eleutherophobia by SoloMoon (Animorphs): a series of fics set in an AU where Tom survived the war, written by someone who seriously, seriously gets Animorphs. it tackles the awful mess everyone’s in after the war and pulls no punches about it, but the AU allows just enough of a sense of hope to keep you going; it’s realistic, it hurts, but it’s not crushingly bleak. 

Boy With A Scar by dirgewithoutmusic (Harry Potter): I recommend this--a series of AU oneshots--because it’s personally my favorite but oh my god absolutely everything this author does is amazing, seriously their Star Wars fics broke me up inside and I’m not even a Star Wars fan. actually while I’m here I also can’t not recommend this series about the female characters of Harry Potter which gives them their due in a way Rowling never really did. and they also wrote some Narnia fics--look everything they’ve done is heartbreaking and beautiful and makes me want to cry and feel things and JUST GO READ IT ALREADY

The Strange Case of Dr. Pines and Mr. Cipher (Gravity Falls AU)

So, I am sure none of you have read the Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde because no one reads classics anymore. Rip. This is one of my favourite books ever, so I have made a GF AU on it. It is very Ford, Bill and Fidds focused because I can. [B]Very briefly: Dr. Henry Jekyll: Stanford Pines (He has twelve PHDs so it makes sense. Jekyll has like 7 PHDs. 😂) Mr. Edward Hyde: Bill Cipher (He is basically all that is evil. :P) Gabriel Utterson/Dr. Hastie Lanyon: Fiddleford McGucket (I feel as if he would fit both roles.) [B]Onto the story. Anyway, Dr. Stanford Pines studies the strange and weird. He has been working his whole life to the anomalies of the world. As he comes to a stand still, he decides to work on a concoction to give him a burst of inspiration. He calls upon his friend Fiddleford McGucket to help him with his endeavors. The two work endlessly to perfect the potion. Fiddleford does not know Stanford intends on testing the finished product on himself.) As they finish the potion, Fiddleford is excited to see who they will use to test the potion on. Stanford dismisses it and says they will perform the experiment tomorrow. Fiddleford leaves a bit disappointed. That night Stanford drinks the potion and creates the vile Bill Cipher. They share the same body, but the physical changes are there. The eyes are the most noticeable difference. (And sense of style.) Also, Bill is much smaller than Stanford. Anyway, this Mr. Cipher goes out on the town doing whatever he wants. Fiddleford eventually bumps into him on the street and notices a familiarity, but Cipher runs off before he can make connections. As Stanford wakes up as hilself, his right eye is bleeding. He knows what Bill did, but he is unable to control himself. The next day, Fiddleford is turned away by Stanford. Fiddleford is confused as to what had come over his friend. He dismissed it to sickness. As the months pass of Fiddleford seeing less and less of his friend, he becomes increasingly worried and starts to investigate the lab secretly. He discovers a diary of both Stanford and Bill. He confronts a sickly, frail and paranoid Stanford, and Stanford is shocked and forces him to leave. That night, Dr. Pines had decided he would not lose himself to the vile Mr. Cipher and decides to take cyanide. As his life leaves him, he dies as Bill Cipher. If you have read all of that, I love you. If you enjoy it, I love you even more. I may post more of this AU because I am in love. I need to make art for it. Ahhh. I love this way too much. Help. Stanford Henry Pines and William Edward Cipher - Jekyll and Hyde AU designs :3

Instead of wanting to separate one's being through a potion, like Jekyll, Stanford is interested in investigating parallel universes and finding out if he can project parts of people that they didn't want onto an alternative version of themselves, getting rid of the negative side easily. He found out about William through a book that appeared in his lab after coming home from a failed pitch for his research and summoned him. William lies saying that he knows how to make an interdimensional portal that would serve as an access point to a giant network of dimensions, he offers his guidance and knowledge in exchange for control of Ford's mind and body. He then instructed Stanford on how to create a drug that would prevent neural connections and transmissions to allow easier access to his brain.

William would use this drug with previous researchers or even large groups of people (cults) to facilitate possession and control and make the mind weaker to his influence over time, which is how he was able to intrude without it later on

How do Stanley and Fiddleford factor into the Jekyll and Hyde au? Do they lean towards the roles of Utterson or Lanyon?

Thank you for the question! I've been meaning to explain these, but I guess I kinda forgot!

First of all, I feel that it is important to establish that this AU WILL NOT be a recreation of either the book or the musical of Jekyll & Hyde, but rather it will be inspired by both sources in different ways.

Fiddleford Hastie McGucket: Initially, I planned to have Fiddleford be Dr. Hastie Lanyon. But after thinking about it for a while, I decided that it would be a lot more fun and interesting to be inspired by both Lanyon and Lucy for his character.

Stanley Gabriel Pines: I still have much work to do with Stanley's character, but at the very least I have established that he will take Utterson's place in the story.

Wait for the jekyll and hyde gf au, how does no one realize that Ford and William share a body? Is there demon magic involved, or is it just "that man is so secluded barely anyone know what he looks like", "it's FORD why would FORD run a child over???" and "it's really realllly hard to figure a disguise out if you don't know what you're looking for."

I had trouble figuring this out, but I decided that William would use demon magic in the AU to create a veil of darkness around Stanford's face, showing only one glowing eye and his mouth, and use frock coats or cloaks. But sometimes there are times in which Bill will use Ford's reputation as a disguise itself too if that makes sense; I know this is a very light example, but if he shoved someone aside while running people would rationalize it as him being in a hurry, and doing it accidentally, or simply dismiss it ("No! That is impossible, Ford would never do such a thing."). In some cases, William even pretends to be Ford to trick people and get his way, such as with Fiddleford.
