they tried to rebrand as The Criminals but riz is literally the city council's treasurer and also turns out people in their late 20s don't really name their friend groups. so now they're The Intrepid Heroes

I love that even though Klinger is known for his many elaborate outfits, you can still recognize a lot of his day dresses that get reworn throughout the series. He's not just a bit, the dresses are what he wears every day and most of them are meant to be comfortable and practical as well as beautiful. His wardrobe is pretty magical, but it's at least somewhat tethered to the reality of the army and his limited tent space.
#one of my pet peeves is longform media where characters never seem to wear the same thing twice#conversely i just adore when i can recognize specific garments and accessories that a character wears often#i too have a selection of Good Outfits that i will wear several dozen times a year#mash#mash 4077#m*a*s*h#mashposting#max klinger

[Hanfu · 漢服]Chinese Song Dynasty (960–1279 AD)Traditional Clothing Hanfu Reference to Song Dynasty Murals
【Historical Reference Artifacts】:
Woman in the murals of the Song Dynasty tomb in Tangzhuang, Dengfeng, Henan,China.
【Histoty Note】Song Dynasty (960–1279 AD)·Woman Formal Garment
The large-sleeved shirts and skirts of the Northern Song Dynasty were based on the long blouses and skirts of the late Tang and Five Dynasties, and became more refined and gradually became more ritualized. At the same time, the trend of women wearing crowns became more and more popular, and a variety of crown styles and matching hairstyles were developed.
The restoration of this outfit refers to the image of a woman in the murals of the Song Dynasty tomb in Tangzhuang, Dengfeng, Henan: her head is combed in a bun, with clouds shape hair around her temples, and a crown, which is fixed with flower hairpins on the front and back, and pearl hairpins on the left and right; Wearing a sleeved blouse, a long skirt, and a silk scarf was the attire of the common people and women attending formal occasions at that time.
At that time, married women often wore crowns, long-sleeved shirts and skirts, and shoulder-wrapped scarf when attending formal occasions or when common women got married. It gradually developed into a classic paradigm, which had an impact on popular fashion and the system of public service. The "golden crown and xiapi金冠霞帔" that often appeared in literary works of the Song and Yuan Dynasties was developed from this classic ceremonial attire.

*lovingly tackles Aine*
Read my Yandere! Pierro longfics first ♪( ´▽`)
Last week, my beloved mutual @ainescribe surprised me with Savior! Darling fan art and AHAI9232@2-!/! CRYING SCREAMING I WANT TO LOOK AT THIS ART AND WORSHIP YOUR VERSION OF SAVIOR THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BLESSING ME WITH YOUR ART—
*clears throat* Anyway, now that I finally have the time to properly sit down and comment on the fan art, I’ll do just that. Feedback will be in the tags and it will be unhinged. Once again, thank you so much to Aine for drawing this <3
#feedback#fan art#pranabefall#AIIINE ;-; once again. thank you so much!! it rlly means a lot to me that you enjoyed my writing and felt inspired to draw this :'>#and as someone who loves fashion and character design. it's so so interesting to analyze your version of savior#there's so much symbolism and visual storytelling in each sketch/ outfit and i shall now proceed to pick apart each detail as best as i can#her snezhnayan fit.....god i love it. it's regal. distinctively snezhnayan. and draws attention to her--and you just know that was pierro's#intention when he dressed her in those garments. IT'S JUST SO...!! savior's wardrobe scrubbed clean of her original culture and preferences#replaced with the foreign garments of her captor's nations.....in line with this. i love how her kokoshnik and khaenri'ahn earrings are big#and attention-grabbing. you can't look at her without taking note of those accessories. it begs the question:: how many times has savior#looked at the mirror after being dressed up in snezhnaya and was unable to recognize her own reflection?? :'>#also shoutout to some details aine shared with me: 1) the face marks are inspired by weeping angels 2) the kokoshnik was traditionally worn#by married noblewomen BUT the veil was normally for unmarried women so savior's outfit can be seen as a form of compliance + rebellion#(though later on in history it became accepted for married women to also wear that veil. also my apologies if what i said is inaccurate)#lastly shoutout to savior's expression!! very poised and mysterious....due to her emotional state or pierro's rules on how to act as his#spouse in public?? we'll never know~ the first drawing hits even harder when you compare it to the next one!! such an interesting contrast~#savior in her plain attire. casual and domestic with a smile on her face....i'm guessing this is her pre-fatui version?? she looks so warm#and friendly. and i can definitely understand why pierro fell for her smile <3#also i fucking love the caption. sorry pierro but you are cursed to be a loser/ simp/ pathetic man in all of my fics and AUs xD#NOW ONTO GODDESS! SAVIOR AAAHHHH!! i love the greek goddess motifs. she looks so regal and awe-inspiring but in a different way from her#snezhnayan attire--archaic. divine. and more suited to her personal style.....yet both versions of her look so painfully isolated :'>#her blank eyes. emotionless face. and veil give me the vibes of a spooky victorian ghost...or would a statue/ portrait be more fitting??#the lack of a necklace is also an interesting design choice given what happens in the fic. and now i realized i forgot to comment on your#version of her snezhnayan necklace oops. similar to the kokoshnik and earrings. the size + grandeur makes it impossible to ignore#that and big jewels = expensive af. ohhh and i love the sparkles on her veil!! pierro rlly spared no expense in dressing up his wifey <3#it's also funny how all of these outfits are similar to my own version in terms of 'savior wore grand clothing during her glory days as a#goddess -> wore simple attire after her decline for practicality and to blend in with humans/ disassociate from her old identity -> is now#dressed in even grander clothing as the harbinger's spouse. but it's used to reinforce her new identity and pierro's control over her'#tldr:: your design is so creative and i can see the effort you put in analyzing her character and depicting her based on your interpretatio#thank you for being my mutual + reader and i hope we can share even more harbinger/darling brainrot in the future :>

so basically her test knitting opinions are that it's a problem for the knitting community to expect test knitting to have happened as part of pattern development, because to build a business as a designer you would then have to rely on free and underpaid labour.
i get being very uncomfortable with that and i agree that it's kind of weird that there is a collective expectation of the use of underpaid labour.
it did however strike me that in her blog post she mentioned how she didn't have the following on social media to get test knitters, because that kinda felt a liiiiiittle sour grapes to me. ETA: She has 15k instagram followers, which is 3k more than the person I test knit for last year who, afaik, filled all of her test knitting slots.
it ALSO struck me that at no point so far have I seen her mention anything about advocating for knitting designers to increase their prices, which to me would be perhaps a step towards reconciling the audience's need to see the pattern made by multiple people of different sizes with the ethical concerns she raises.
She further said that (i am paraphrasing) "when we got our patterns from magazines and books, they weren't test knitted and we were fine!". As a once avid reader of the knitter and simply knitting, i require proof that everyone was fine, kate.
Like, I largely agree with her! I just think there are some issues here.
#knitting chat#what strikes me especially is that looking at her ravelry#she primarily designs accessories not garments#i'm not denigrating her skills i just think that there's a perspective going on here

if you know you're going to be crocheting later in the day, you can tuck the crochet hook against your skin (I put it in my bra, have a friend who tucks it into her waistband at the small of her back) and have it warm up that way
That's a good idea, I just so happen to be a very... messy person who just leaves my hooks in the middle of projects. I'm crocheting a hook holder as a stand-in, though because my other hooks are.... laying on my nightstand loose 💀
#ask#anon#crochet tips#there's nothing wrong with this tip but i would have trouble remembering to do that... sometimes i put them under a blanket though!!#honestly bras are a very versatile garment. it serves an undergarment function but it's also a wallet a phone holder a hook warmer like???#all the people in my life who wear them just use them as accessories and i respect it so much 😭#i am happy and grateful that you took the time to give me this idea (i don't/can't wear bras but regardless it was thoughtful of you)#the waistband trick might be a good idea though for me... especially with cozy PJ pants

I love how you completely changed everyone’s wardrobe for the Beach Episode, save for gorgug’s hoodie (do they take it in the water?) do you wanna talk about the outfit choices at all?
I mean there's not a lot to talk about there I think? I'm a big fashion-focused character design artist, I'll say that, but a lot of that I can't really translate into words sadly... there are just certain character-specific silhouettes that once u've picked out u can hang onto to give them new clothes and it'll usually be good that's kinda how I do it. I fully see gorgug going Anywhere in that hoodie tho I think by this point babygirl's like I have a theory it's indestructible and I intend to test it
#not art#that material holds onto sand like crazy but at least it's thick enough that the sand shouldnt be going thru#tbh I think the toughest thing I needed to figure out for the beach piece was how many accessories to include for the kids lol#cause riz was inventory stacking and fabian and fig have a bunch of piercings n such#and like it'd def be fun to draw all that on them but 1/wearing metal on top of hot sand is torture actually 2/What If You Lose The Things#<- suffers from the brain condition that randomly shreds ur short term memory#same reason I almost gave adaine her jacket in the piece but eventually I figured it'd muddle the silhouette too much#someone in the tags pointed out that fig who is fully immune to fire damage is holding the sunscreen bottle and all I can say is:#>:]#thats not for her to use on herself. she has Intentions#I. mm idk turns out if u ask me specific things abt any of the designs I'll have things to say abt it but its all like#really small granular logistics stuff lol. I havent been to the beach in literal years#actually now Im imagining like gorgug getting shot by a whole crossbow that went thru like his shoulders or something#and theres a hole in his shoulder but not on the hoodie. somehow#indestructible garment that doesnt actually protect you is very funny I think#the cybertruck of hoodies.....

Choosing the right packaging materials for your apparel brand
Packaging and garment accessories in Sri Lanka is far more than just a protective shell for your garments. It is a powerful communication tool, a brand ambassador, and a critical touchpoint that can significantly influence customer perception and experience. For apparel brands, especially those emerging from vibrant markets like Sri Lanka, where stationery suppliers and garment accessories play a crucial role in the industry, choosing the right packaging materials from reputed stationery suppliers in Sri Lanka is an art form that combines aesthetics, functionality, and strategic branding.
The Multifaceted Role of Packaging in Apparel Retail
Garment packing materials in Sri Lanka are a complex ecosystem that serves multiple purposes beyond mere product protection. It is a silent storyteller that communicates your brand's values, commitment to quality, and environmental consciousness. When a customer receives a carefully packaged garment, they are not just receiving a piece of clothing—they are experiencing a curated journey that begins the moment the package enters their hands.
Brand Identity and First Impressions
Every element of your packaging—from the material texture to the colour palette, from the durability to the design—contributes to the narrative of your brand. A luxury brand might opt for thick, premium paper with embossed logos, while a sustainable fashion label might choose recycled materials that reflect their environmental ethos. The packaging becomes an extension of the garment itself, setting expectations and creating anticipation even before the clothing is revealed.
Understanding Material Considerations
Selecting the right packaging materials is a nuanced decision that requires careful consideration of multiple factors. Let's delve into the critical aspects that should guide your selection process.
Protective Qualities
The primary function of packaging is protection. Garments are delicate products that can be easily damaged by moisture, dust, handling, and transportation. Different materials offer varying levels of protection:
Poly bags provide excellent moisture resistance and are lightweight, making them popular among garment packing material suppliers in Sri Lanka. They are cost-effective and can be customised with printed brand information. However, they present environmental challenges due to their single-use plastic nature.
Paper-based packaging, particularly those made from recycled or sustainable sources, offers breathability and a more premium feel. Kraft paper bags and boxes can protect garments while simultaneously communicating a brand's commitment to sustainability.
Sustainability Considerations
Modern consumers are increasingly environmentally conscious. Your packaging choice can significantly impact brand perception. Materials that are recyclable, biodegradable, or made from renewable sources are becoming not just a preference but an expectation.
Innovations in sustainable packaging have led to materials like:
Cornstarch-based bags that decompose naturally.
Paper made from agricultural waste.
Packaging derived from mushroom mycelium.
Recycled textile waste transformed into packaging materials.
Aesthetic and Functional Design
Packaging is not just about protection—it is about creating an experience. Consider how Tag Pin and Mobilon Tape suppliers in Sri Lanka can contribute to your packaging's functionality and visual appeal. A well-designed package can include:
Integrated hangers or folding guides
Clear sizing windows
Easy-open mechanisms
Reusable design elements
Economic Considerations
While quality is paramount, cost remains a critical factor. The goal is to find a balance between premium feel and economic feasibility. This involves:
Analysing per-unit packaging costs.
Considering bulk purchasing options.
Evaluating long-term brand value created by high-quality packaging.
Exploring local suppliers who can provide competitive pricing.
Local Market Insights: Sri Lankan Packaging Ecosystem
Sri Lanka's robust garment accessories and packaging supply chain offers unique advantages. Local suppliers understand the nuanced requirements of the textile industry and can provide customised solutions that global suppliers might overlook.
By partnering with local suppliers, brands can:
Reduce shipping costs and carbon footprint
Support local economic development
Access faster prototyping and customisation
Benefit from suppliers who deeply understand textile packaging requirements
Technological Innovations in Packaging
Emerging technologies are revolutionising packaging design. Smart packaging with QR codes, augmented reality features, and interactive elements can transform a simple package into an engaging brand experience.
Imagine a package that:
Provides styling tips when scanned.
Offers sustainability information about the garment.
Enables easy returns or exchanges through integrated technology
.
Practical Implementation Strategies
Switching to new packaging materials for your apparel brand requires a strategic and well-thought-out approach to ensure a smooth transition while maintaining customer satisfaction and brand identity. A phased implementation strategy can help streamline the process and mitigate potential challenges.
Conduct Thorough Market Research
Begin by researching available packaging materials that align with your brand's values, such as sustainability, cost-effectiveness, or aesthetics. Explore innovative options like compostable mailers, recycled cardboard boxes, or reusable fabric bags. Evaluate suppliers, compare prices, and ensure the materials meet regulatory and environmental standards.
Create Prototype Packages
Develop prototypes of your packaging designs using the selected materials. This step allows you to visualise how the final product will look and feel while assessing its compatibility with your brand’s aesthetic and functional requirements. Consider including branding elements like logos, colours, and taglines to maintain consistency.
Test Durability and Customer Response
Before full-scale adoption, test the prototypes for durability during transit. Simulate real-world conditions such as stacking, drops, and exposure to varying temperatures to ensure the packaging protects your products effectively. Additionally, gather initial customer responses by sending out sample packages and monitoring their feedback on the packaging’s quality and appeal.
Gather Feedback
Collect input from customers, shipping partners, and team members to identify strengths and areas for improvement. Feedback on ease of opening, recyclability, and overall presentation can provide valuable insights into how well the new packaging aligns with customer expectations and operational needs.
Iteratively Improve Your Packaging Design
Use the feedback to refine and optimise your packaging. This may involve tweaking material thickness, adjusting dimensions, or enhancing visual elements. Iterative improvements ensure that the final packaging design strikes a balance between functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability.
Packaging as a Strategic Asset
Packaging is no longer a mere afterthought in the apparel industry. It is a strategic asset that can differentiate your brand, enhance customer experience, and communicate your core values. By thoughtfully selecting materials that balance protection, aesthetics, sustainability, and brand narrative, you transform packaging from a functional necessity to a powerful marketing tool.
The right packaging does not just deliver a garment—it delivers an experience, a promise, and a connection with your customer.
