GVH's Lead Programmer will be Keynote Speaker for GAMERella Game Jam 2023

GAMERella is the world’s longest running annual game jam and workshop series focusing on supporting marginalized game creators and aspiring game makers. Our next edition is planned for November, 2023.

Hundreds of people have made their very first game at GAMERella, the world’s longest running inclusive game jam. NOW IT IS YOUR TIME! Join in-person to this year’s GAMERella! As always, GAMERella invites women (cis/trans), trans men, non-binary/genderqueer folks, LGBTQIA2S+, BIPOC, and any others who feel they haven’t had a chance to make a game, to join GAMERella in a weekend of fun game-making November 11-12, 2023.

KEYNOTE 2023 Hope Erin Phillips Hope Erin Phillips a programmer, multimedia artist, and professional hobby collector. They work at KO_OP in Montreal, as lead programmer on the recently released Goodbye Volcano High. Hope holds a BFA in Intermedia/Cyberarts, is working slowly through a second degree in biology, and is a Critical Hit 2015 alumni. Their personal work usually focuses on mental illness and queerness, and in their work at KO_OP they are proud to build systems that facilitate the expressions of unapologetically gay stories.

REGISTER FOR LENVAL BROWN'S "VOICE OF THE NARRATOR" EVENT WITH WORKSHOPS4GAZA HERE

Saturday, Oct. 19 3-5pm EST

This workshop will feature voice actor and musician Lenval Brown, who narrated the widely popular role playing game Disco Elysium. Released in 2019, Disco Elysium is a video game whose surreal yet politically lucid narrative places the player in fictional post-revolutionary Martinaise, Revachol. Its 2021 update added full narrative voiceover work by Brown. Join Lenval for a benefit livestream where he will play the game and talk about his experience as a voice actor for Disco Elysium.

Lenval Brown is a voice actor known for his narration role in the award-winning RPG Disco Elysium. He also appeared as Sisyphus Prime in "Ultrakill" and narrated many of the episodes for the 2022 PC Gamer short documentary series "Tales From The Hard Drive." He is the lead singer of a South London 8 piece ska band called Maroon Town. He lives in London.

"Sin Eaters"

Finally finished this epic piece for my homebrewed space marine chapter of warrior-women, the Sin Eaters! I was shooting for that classic Codex vibe, while sticking in a few of those old Rogue Trader-esque elements that I always love. Maybe I'll mock up some kind of faux-codex cover with some graphics later down the road.
