i think it's specifically important that he is so insanely elegant and pretty and also deadly haha. there's a line in one of my fics where bandee identifies some jungle plants as "far too beautiful to be anything but carnivores", and i think that really sums it up

Confession time... I'm a big redemption-arc Jaime apologist. Season 8 was a betrayal on every level and I reject D&D's decisions with Jaime. In a hilarious/devestating twist season 8 episode 2 was the second episode I'd ever watched (the first was the Sand-Snake vs Greyjoy episode with my cousins, and s8ep2 I watched when it came out with my friend) and it hooked me enough to give the rest of season 8 a fighting chance (guess how that went). So... I was already a Braime stan via the books and 8x02... there's a reason I'm still raging all these years later. I was already set up for failure with my Beauty and the Beast retellings obsession... I have to stop or I'll never stop. Anyway, Jaime apologist, I've decided he and Brienne have a happy ending. Who is your problematic asoiaf fave?

Elder Scrolls: Possible portrait of Akaviri Potentate.

The tradition of depicting tsaesci in a thoroughly anthropomorphic fashion, may actually predate the "damnatio memoriae" issued against this race (once proudly prolific in all the upper echelons of imperial society) in the aftermath of dissolution of Akaviri Empire. One, after all, understands the need to assuage the apprehension of the populace being governed by creatures the sources describe as towering, eel-like and vampiric. And given the texts (having gone through stringent censorship) have been allowed but a momentary candor to suggest decidedly serpentine features of Akaviri Potentates—we should deny ourselves the comfort of this "conventionally monstrous" interpretation. I for one am not prepared to dismiss the notion of them having four arms, especially in relation to a passage lauding Savirien Chorak's ambidextrous wielding of swords. Another remarkable feature of this painting (besides its faithful depiction of imperial scale-mail armour) is that the mask looks almost identical to another famous artifact—The Battle Mask of Almalexia—which itself perhaps been made in commemoration of sinking of Tsaesci fleet at Bal Foyen.

he gives elden ring a shot and surprise he gets fucking rolled. can’t get past tree sentinel, tries to fight Margit at level 15, put all his stats in intelligence and not enough dex, hasn’t even found a proper staff, picked warrior as his starting class.

he’s ready to uninstall but he paid full price for this game, he’s at least gonna defeat one boss goddammit. so he tries summoning players for aid and just his luck, he summons cooperator WolfChimeraWyvern.

and this cooperator is SO GOOD, he solos Margit without getting hit, and Kabru is just. in awe. so he adds him as a friend.

and that’s how he meets Laios, expert on all things fromsoft (has literally read every item description, knows the most obscure lore by heart, don’t ask him how many hours he’s played, he has all the platinums)

Being serious I do love Volition a whole lot. Mine is just Extra Pathetic™️ and I have not passed a SINGLE active check first try with this dude (I’ve played this game what. 6 times now? 7 times?)
