With Cabell being so down it took some convincing from Rosa and Co. to get him to start working on his display for the flower festival. Parked outside the church on Main, Cab flooded his old truck with flowers (with help from Marcel to keep him focused and see that he actually submitted his application for the judging). Out of the back he will be giving out small hand tied stems to folk on the condition that they pass it on and make someone else day.

Bojangles of course is there as well, in his flower crown.

Yes, Teagan was a model. Yes, Teagan thought much of herself. Yes, Teagan was confident. And yes, Teagan was a socialite. The difference between her and many of other pureblood princesses was that she was approachable and cordial — unless provoked. She enjoyed being out and about, being seen. She knew she was beautiful and liked others to see how stunning she was. Attention was given to her her whole life. What better way to give back to others who saw her than sitting at the kissing booth with the lovely Alice?

The line had slowed and she flung her hair behind her shoulder, letting out an exasperated sigh. “This was a lot busier than even I expected. If I’m not careful these plump money making lips might flatten.” She put her hand on Alice’s shoulder. “And most of these people …they’re the lucky ones.” Teagan leaned in and smiled. “They got two hotties here like sitting ducks just waiting on some action.”

"Bloody —," Sydney gathers his good graces to leave the swear unfinished. In Alice's company, there is not such a thing as too comfortable, but he would never affront her ears with such boorish language. Bloody damnation. He halts their path down the corridor, unfortunately rupturing a pleasant thread of conversation, and his hand circles Alice's wrist, ducking into the nearest hallway with his companion in tow. "I think my father's hired an attendant," he whispers once concealed in shadow. "And I have been avoiding him all morning. Espionage never suited — quick, in here." Sydney twists the knob to his father's study, always unlocked, and flings the door open. He releases Alice, cognizant that he mustn't drag her against her wishes, but lingers in the doorframe to allow her a moment to enter before him.

He was like an embodiment of the promise of ‘ everything is going to be alright ‘.  Not completely removing her figure from the man, Alice pursed the glossy lips. “  Shame, would make some good business with it. . . but. . . “ joy and playfulness spread across the soft facial features. “. . .will poke at your brain if offered. "I suppose Frank can't help you. It would ruin the surprise," Remus smiled. "I'd be happy to help as best as I can." When it came to Alice, he was willing to do just about anything she needed. She was a kind soul but also firm when she needed to be. She was a mentor and he both respected and cared about her deeply. He only wanted the best for her.

"You could say you're both lucky," Remus said tilting his head to the side. I have no doubt you've done plenty of special things for him." Remus could only wish to find someone so lovely. Though maybe he had and let her go, but this was neither the time nor the place to think about it let alone talk about it.

"Kids. I may still be young but wow. I've never thought about kids." That was a lie. He didn't want to pass on his affliction and wasn't sure if it would. But he had time to learn. "You both will be amazing parents. The child will be lucky to be raised by the two of you when the time is right." Remus couldn't hide his smile. He may have had his own misgivings about having children but people who would be great parents made him swell with happiness because he thought of his parents. Perfection.

"I can try to teach you. Cookies are my specialty. Especially chocolate chip. You can never have too much chocolate."

"You are." Alice confirmed with a smile. "and since my resident tall guy is not an option I need your help." Normally all things that required height were Frank's job, they were good at dividing tasks as well as working together. They made a great team. "He'll be 27." Frank was a couple months older than her, in December it would be her birthday. "I'm the lucky one. He does special things for me all the time." Alice never for a second had to doubt his love for her, he showed her in many different ways. "I like that. That sounds lovely. I think Frank and I will do the same when we have kids. After the war. that is." She'd always wanted to have kids and she knew Frank would be an excellent father, but she didn't feel right bringing a baby into this world in the current climate. Not when she would have to fear for her baby's safety.

"You can bake? Could you teach me? I've never tried baking the muggle way before and my attempts were disasters."

Sybill felt like, what was the phrase? A school girl. That sounded like a weird phrase but it sounded about right. She didn't know why Alice's touch brought butterflies to her stomach. That had never happened before. And it happened because of gum. Perhaps Sybill should thank the gum. The feeling was a good one, wasn't it? She thought it was supposed to be. To her it was foreign but still, it felt nice, good and weird.

Finally Alice stood and Sybill lowered her foot. She raised it finding it not sticking to the ground. "You're my hero," she said looking up at Alice with a small smile that said more than Sybill even thought she was thinking, wishing Alice's hand had never moved.

"Being in Hogsmeade and not going to Honeydukes is always against the natural order of things. I have such a sweet tooth." Alice could have easily walked away from her to find anything else to do but she didn't. Instead she offered to take her to the sweets shop. Sybill couldn't resist. "I would love the company, thank you." When she put her arm out she knew well enough what she was supposed to do and intertwined her arm within Alice's.

The touch brought another rush. Sybill looked down and smiled sheepishly. "Why bring little me to Honeydukes?"

Sybill was flustered and, honestly, it was adorable. The color creeping up Sybill’s cheeks took Alice back to her teenage years, with clumsy flirting and crimson blushes. It was endearing, but that in itself was a red flag. Alice didn’t do endearing, not anymore. Endearing led to feelings, which led to relationships, which led to having people to lose, and Alice had already lost too many people.

She frowned for a moment as she concentrated on the gum on Sybil’s shoe, and when she was done with that she pulled away, leaving her hand on Sybil’s shoulder but putting some friendly distance between them. “There, all taken care of.”

Alice smiled again as she stowed her wand. “Well you can’t be in Hogsmeade on Halloween without going toHoneydukes, that’s just against the natural order of things.” Alice winked at Sybill to show that she was joking. “Why don’t I walk you down there? We can look out for discarded gum for each other.” She offered the Ravenclaw her arm like a proper gentleman in some old Muggle film.

Ètienne had briefly lost track of his new fiancée but found her talking to a brunette. He stood proudly at Apolline’s side as he was introduced. “Alice, it’s a pleasure to meet you,” he took her hand. “Yes, we are now engaged.” His English was perfect. He would have to help teach Apolline if she wished. “And yes, I do hope it’s okay that I came along. Apolline wanted me to meet her friends.”
