With Cabell being so down it took some convincing from Rosa and Co. to get him to start working on his display for the flower festival. Parked outside the church on Main, Cab flooded his old truck with flowers (with help from Marcel to keep him focused and see that he actually submitted his application for the judging). Out of the back he will be giving out small hand tied stems to folk on the condition that they pass it on and make someone else day.

Yes, Teagan was a model. Yes, Teagan thought much of herself. Yes, Teagan was confident. And yes, Teagan was a socialite. The difference between her and many of other pureblood princesses was that she was approachable and cordial — unless provoked. She enjoyed being out and about, being seen. She knew she was beautiful and liked others to see how stunning she was. Attention was given to her her whole life. The line had slowed and she flung her hair behind her shoulder, letting out an exasperated sigh. “This was a lot busier than even I expected. If I’m not careful these plump money making lips might flatten.” She put her hand on Alice’s shoulder. “And most of these people …they’re the lucky ones.” Teagan leaned in and smiled. “They got two hotties here like sitting ducks just waiting on some action.”

"Bloody —," Sydney gathers his good graces to leave the swear unfinished. In Alice's company, there is not such a thing as too comfortable, but he would never affront her ears with such boorish language. Bloody damnation. He halts their path down the corridor, unfortunately rupturing a pleasant thread of conversation, and his hand circles Alice's wrist, ducking into the nearest hallway with his companion in tow. "I think my father's hired an attendant," he whispers once concealed in shadow. "And I have been avoiding him all morning. Espionage never suited — quick, in here." Sydney twists the knob to his father's study, always unlocked, and flings the door open. He releases Alice, cognizant that he mustn't drag her against her wishes, but lingers in the doorframe to allow her a moment to enter before him.

it wasn't often that lily evans got any time off from st. mungos, seeing as she was one of their star healers and they relied on her quite heavily. she didn't mind, she loved her job and she knew how important it was to heal during times of such unrest. that being said, she wished she had more time to spare for her loved ones. sometimes she feared they all felt neglected, her friends. her family. and james. so the fact that she actually got let off early today was a suspicious miracle. and she made the impromptu decision to visit the three broomsticks for a bit. mainly because her feet were KILLING her and she wanted to rest and decompose for a moment before she apparated home. a grin preyed onto pink lips though at the sight of her familiar friend, " well, isn't this a nice surprise! imagine edward and bella heading out for a hunt and emmett being like "do you guys mind if i tag along? i feel like snacking". bella's a little mad at the prospect of suddenly having a third wheel (homegirl wasn't planning on just. hunting) but alice gets a weird hunch and goes "no, no, em should go with you" ok nostradamus. he's going.

fast forward they're in the mountain. bella finds having emmett third-wheeling is not half bad. in emmett's head, lowkey it's bella who's the third wheel after so many decades of him hunting together with edward. but nevertheless, it's so fun with her around. all is good until they catch the scent of an entire group of friends hiking just a couple of miles from here, away from all civilization. emmett and edward stop in their tracks, ready to turn around. bella, her guard down, loses it and stars running towards the group, so they have no choice but to charge at her. while strugging to keep her in place, they try to talk her down but she doesn't listen. she doesn't care, she's strong enough to fight them off, and she fights and claws and hisses and breaks bones of whoever gets in her way because there are so many pulses just a few minutes' run away from her and their scent is so sweet and burning and calling, calling, calling to her

while struggling to restrain her, emmett grunts "we have to disarm her". edward catches the image in his head and shouts "no! you can't literally disarm bella!". well, how the hell do you expect us to stop her from massacring all those hikers? we'll just put her back together afterwards. duh!, emmett thinks, and knows he has to act fast so he goes in while bella's busy yanking away from edward's grip and tears off a limb. or two. all 3 of them may or may not be screaming.

a few moments later edward's pinning bella to the ground, holding her face between his palms, forcing her to look at him. her thrashing is not so effective with limited body parts. part of him wants to yell at emmett but that's kind of low priority. he's holding on to the last of his composure while he looks down at bella's feral expression and chants 'baby. i'm so sorry but i'll give you your leg back after you calm down a bit. i won't be able to outrun you if you go chasing after those people now. please calm down. i love you. hold your breath'

just then she listens, stops breathing and her vision refocuses. for the first time she realizes she was on her way to slaughter a bunch of strangers and she broke the arm of the man she loves at least three times when he tried to stop her. she wants to open her mouth and apologize but that will require her to breathe and possibly go crazy with thirst again. so she stares back at edward's panicked eyes and nods at him, her own red eyes just as full of terror.

then she looks over his shoulder and sees emmett waving her severed leg in the air like it's a baseball bat. "hey, did you know that rose wears the same shoe size?"

Sybill felt like, what was the phrase? A school girl. That sounded like a weird phrase but it sounded about right. She didn't know why Alice's touch brought butterflies to her stomach. That had never happened before. And it happened because of gum. Perhaps Sybill should thank the gum. The feeling was a good one, wasn't it? She thought it was supposed to be. To her it was foreign but still, it felt nice, good and weird.

Finally Alice stood and Sybill lowered her foot. She raised it finding it not sticking to the ground. "You're my hero," she said looking up at Alice with a small smile that said more than Sybill even thought she was thinking, wishing Alice's hand had never moved.

"Being in Hogsmeade and not going to Honeydukes is always against the natural order of things. I have such a sweet tooth." Alice could have easily walked away from her to find anything else to do but she didn't. Instead she offered to take her to the sweets shop. Sybill couldn't resist. "I would love the company, thank you." When she put her arm out she knew well enough what she was supposed to do and intertwined her arm within Alice's.

The touch brought another rush. Sybill looked down and smiled sheepishly. "Why bring little me to Honeydukes?"

Sybill was flustered and, honestly, it was adorable. The color creeping up Sybill’s cheeks took Alice back to her teenage years, with clumsy flirting and crimson blushes. It was endearing, but that in itself was a red flag. Alice didn’t do endearing, not anymore. Endearing led to feelings, which led to relationships, which led to having people to lose, and Alice had already lost too many people.

She frowned for a moment as she concentrated on the gum on Sybil’s shoe, and when she was done with that she pulled away, leaving her hand on Sybil’s shoulder but putting some friendly distance between them. “There, all taken care of.”

Alice smiled again as she stowed her wand. “Well you can’t be in Hogsmeade on Halloween without going toHoneydukes, that’s just against the natural order of things.” Alice winked at Sybill to show that she was joking. “Why don’t I walk you down there? We can look out for discarded gum for each other.” She offered the Ravenclaw her arm like a proper gentleman in some old Muggle film.
