The Left Right Game is several fears and it works best assigning them per character and location. Implied spoilers below.

Ace is the slaughter.

Jubilation and the Hitchhiker are the stranger. Hitchhiker is also kind of eye coded though with how he Knows Things.

Alice reads as an eye avatar towards the end.

Bluejay is the hunt. The woods are also the hunt, along with the child in them.

Eve and Apollo are the buried for... obvious reasons.

Clyde is the lonely.

Bonnie is the spiral. So are Marjorie and the lake. Honestly, I think the hitchhiker could also be considered spiral now that I think about it.

Lilith could be several things, but I'm thinking the end. The road itself could also be seen like this I think, since it reads as a metaphor for life and grief to me, although it does also have eye things going on.

Unsure if anyone would agree with this, but Rob reads as desolation to me since he's lost everything. The unsureness comes from the lack of fire.

The silent city feels extinction coded to me. It's empty and devoid of sound and life and viciously destroys anything that defies that.

Ik people joke about reading a story that's 'well that was pretty fucked up huh?' and that's it but the emotional impact left in the wake of a good tragedy when you don't know it's going to be a good tragedy. Dear god.

When I go into crime and punishment I go in with the mindset that everything is horrible and will continue to be so. When I read a fucking comedy series about a man in boxers??? Absolutely not (this is entirely unrelated I'm just upset about it still). What do you MEAN there is no happy ending sometimes what do you MEAN I just have to sit here and stew with the knowledge that the characters ive grown so dearly invested in are just, ruined now.

I sometimes WISH we could explore more of the world the Road inhabits in Left Right Game. Not super detailed or anything- I don't want the world explained to me. I just want to see more of it?? Like more weird asides like Wintery Bay and Jubilation. Maybe even rarer, places like the Silent City.

Maybe there's an alternate route you can take that no one knows about...
