A usable kitchen!

Today’s chores completed included clearing off the counter that runs between the kitchen and the main living space; it holds now only plants, the wax melter, and the music speaker. So tidy. I can see clear into the kitchen when I stand at my desk.

GLORIOUS SPAAAACE.

I also cleaned out and re-organised the shelving inside the fridge. I’ve been staring at this unsightly chunk of meh for literally months (maybe over a year?) and today I had the spoons to set it to rights.

I HAVE SO MANY SAVORY SAUCES AND JAMS.

But now I can see my food, I actually WANT to eat out of the fridge again because I cleaned it out, and I’m even trying to rehydrate my sad celeries in the door so I can eat those too!

Father-daughter fridge comparison.

On the one hand, shame on the prodigal father for (not) raising a daughter whose fridge contains nothing but champaign. The fact that he had absolutely no idea she existed is no excuse. She is not only a hazard to others - she is a hazard to herself.

On the other hand, though - at least daughter’s not playing Incriminating Evidence Chicken every time one of her fuck-friends grabs a snack.

I feel like Mac & Dennis had to have SOME in-universe rationalization for getting rid of all of their furniture and all I could come up with was

A) sold (or attempted and failed to sell) their preexisting furniture to invest in their awesome new inflatable furniture business

B) to make room for their inflatable furniture business inventory (would be a literal explanation for the 'no room' comment) or

C) they had actually been renting NOT JUST the couch but the beds and chairs and etc, and panicked upon discovering this was a dumb as fuck move

Bruce definitely knows how to cook, but he's one of those guys who goes to the grocery store to get ingredients for a meal. For every meal. His fridge is normally completely empty except for protein shake ingredients.

Clark grew up with a rural family, he's definitely used to scrounging around in the cupboards and throwing together ingredients into something cohesive. My guy can take half an onion, an alien mushroom he found, some ancient lentils, and a container of leftover soup, and make a full hearty meal.
