G O L D E N M I L K 💛 AKA turmeric milk tea gets the thumbs up from us when it's raining cats and dogs ☔. It warms us up in no time. But it is also good for skin due to its anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties. It has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years, both as topical and oral treatments. The easiest way to include turmeric in your diet is to drink it in tea, so here is our favourite recipe for turmeric tea using fresh turmeric, which is much nicer to drink than the powdered stuff. RECIPE: 🌟 1 and 1/2 cups of unsweetened coconut milk. You can use cow’s milk too 🌟 1/2 an inch grated turmeric 🌟 1/2 an inch grated ginger 🌟 Sprinkle of powdered cinnamon 🌟 Sprinkle of crushed black pepper 🌟 1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil (optional) 🌟1/2 teaspoon of honey (optional – we Iove organic forest honey) Mix all the ingredients in a milk pan, except the honey, and warm through on a low heat for 3-5 minutes. Don’t boil, just heat gently. You’ll see the milk start to infuse with the colour of the turmeric. Once it’s warmed through, pour into a cup through a tea strainer, which should get rid of the grated spices and large bits of black pepper.
