Gotham was welcoming of Amity Parkers.

not as loving as with her own but she was way more patient with the people of her friend that any other outsiders.

so the people of Amity those Liminal and aware of her tried to pay her kindness back, to a reasonable degree of course but they could help and she let them stay so they did.

Paulina took it upon herself to make a nice place in the fashion district, she sold some charms to help with the curses as much as she could.

Sam being Sam opened a surprisingly Ivy Approved community garden and was very hard to convince not to join the Eco-terrorist but they managed to, thankfully.

the Fentons designed filters to help the 'Parkers but it was good for the city too if too little to do much.

Val hadn't moved here (yet) but she visited often enough and each visit volunteered somewhere.

Gotham grown to adore them almost as their own, she even hid them from the bats for a while to let them settle (and maybe help her more before her Knight inevitably got paranoid)

Gotham laughed when her King stumbled into her Red Knight, you could hear it in subtle ways the sounds of the night flowed just a little too much like a giggle.

Hood did deserve more good things she's proud of herself!

Hello and welcome to this new post of mine! In here I will give you a reading on how people perceive you. I hope you guys enjoy and find this interesting!

Pile 1:

People perceive you as someone who is kind and welcoming to almost anyone. Someone who doesn’t judge people and is open to meeting anyone anywhere, yet also someone who can be a little shy in certain situations and environments. This doesn’t take away from the fact you can be incredibly fun and entertaining to the people you do feel comfortable with. Even though you are very kind and understanding to people; you can voice your opinion and look down on others if you consider them to be bad people, people who harm and only have ill intent towards others.

Many also perceive you as someone who is really talented and intelligent; someone who will make it far in life (for many of you there are hobbies you enjoy and would love to make your job off; the people around you see this to be in your future).

People see you as a very creative and fun person, the life of the party. Someone who is impulsive and sometimes gets into a bunch of messes no one usually gets into; but at least it brings fun stories along with it. Some of you might have ADHD, and this is something the people around you notice; but most love you because of it. You always have something to say and the way your brain works is fascinatingly fun; you think in ways others don’t often do, and that creativity brings joy to others.

Your presence in groups usually do that; it makes parties that were boring fun, it makes the colours around others more vibrant; life in itself is more enjoyable when you are around. Those are the things other people think of you; how they perceive you.

There are many people who are jealous of your intellect and motivation to do something with your life. You want to achieve things, to others you are very ambitious; someone who will make something of themselves in life. You might not have the biggest friend group, but this is because you value close relationships over very shallow and superficial relationships. You do not need many friends if you get more out of having a few. People see you as someone who is nice, but also someone who doesn’t go out of their way in order to meet people around them; even though they don’t necessarily see you as someone as shy, you do keep to yourself more than others.

I don't even know how to word this in a way that makes sense and I think in an overall world building sense this is a major case of "Man I think it depends" but I actually don't think Spite is a "demon".

Spirits and Demons are essentially the same, yes, and I think there's much to be said about this in in parallel to a healthy person vs a deeply traumatized person, but to quote Neve, "one is more likely to manipulate you, or kill you," etc etc.

A demon is a spirit whose purpose has been twisted. And I don't think Spite's purpose has been twisted much at all.

Determination's purpose is "accomplish my goal (whatever that may be)". Spite (the emotion)'s purpose is exactly the same, with the added benefit of "especially against the wishes of others".

I think the demonic version of Determination would be "Ruthlessness", not Spite.

Spite (the guy) is not wholly consumed by his purpose like other "demons" are. He doesn't pursue his goals at the expense of his companions. He has several other interests even if they seem a little silly (learning what tastes good, or even new forms of combat like fire). And he tells us his purpose several times...it's his promise with Lucanis! Escape, kill, and live! This goal is one of determination and it has not changed by his becoming Spite. The goal is not warped in any way even with his joining to Lucanis.

Bellara speculates as to why Spite doesn't just take Lucanis over or turn him into a nasty mound of flesh. I want to argue that this is because Spite is a named spirit, not a demon.

What's more spiteful than not allowing your captors to change you? What says fuck you to people who would use you as a tool than self-determination? What's more spiteful than being determined to be free, to fight who would enslave you, to live?

My working theory is that Spite is not a demon in the same sense as, say, Wisdom being corrupted into Pride, which twists a desire to guide, teach, or navigate situations with care into a desire to be right and unchallenged.

I think Spite is to Determination as Eulogy is to Compassion.
