Hii dear Tara, first of all I love all your readings and they always resonate with me, but I have a question about the last one (new love) and the pile I picked resonated but it gave me the biggest ick (not the reading itself, you did great!) because of being hurt and now I hate this person. To be honest it was a spiritual connection so we weren't physically together. I even unfollowed him on IG and when I may get signs about him I'm like "I moved on" with a big smile on my face. So, even if it resonated a lot, have i cut cords with him doing that? (I don't even wanna hear his name) and the universe won't let me down again by bringing him again even if now "healed", right? 😕 Pile 1 resonated too 💞
Thank you ❤️
Hi, love! Yeah, I knew that pile may be a little worrisome for those that picked it. So, I have some thoughts but it also requires you to do some reflection to see if it feels right intuitively. So, if it gave you the "ick" or just felt heavy energetically as you were reading the messages (I hope that makes sense), I think that is most likely an indicator that it wasn't for you. I feel like if a pile truly resonates, it will feel right intuitively because it should be confirming what you already feel or know. Does that make sense? So, if it doesn't feel right, it may not be for you.
On the other hand, I just read energy and it's up to you how you react to that energy. So, I hate to say it but this person very well could be coming back around again for you. However, it's up to you how you choose to react and whether or not you allow them back into your life. So, if you've moved on and want nothing to do with this person but they end up coming back into your life, it's okay to reject them and move forward on your own.
Another thing is that this could be a test from the universe seeing if you will fall back into past toxic patterns with this person or if you will choose to leave them in the past and move forward toward a love you deserve. They could be seeing if you are still energetically tied to this connection before letting you move forward.
All of those things are possibilities. So, it's up to you to check in with yourself and your intuition to see if it truly does resonate with you and what that may mean for you if it does resonate.
Does that make sense? I hope I explained it right. Sometimes I'm bad at explaining things. lol. I hope that helps!
Love, Tara

Oh in addition to my last question, tips on making general readings? I feel like my readings feel very specific (ig bc I’m usually focusing on one person I’m reading for), but I’d like to get into general readings with multiple piles too.
So, I actually think specific readings are good when doing general or pick a pile readings. I think having detailed and specific messages help people relate to your readings better. I see some readings that are just too general and while the messages are positives, there are no specific details or clues to let me know the reading is actually meant for me.
So, I don't know if I would suggest for you to not be specific. Does that make sense?

hii!! I hope you’re well.
Do you have any tips for reading tarot for pay? (ig a tarot reading business lol). I’m looking into it. I’ve been reading for about 4 years now as a hobbyist, mostly for my floormates in uni, but as of late whether it’s in tarot exchanges on here or just replying to spreads I see on Reddit, I feel more confident in my abilities.
Hi!
That's awesome! I can definitely give you some tips!
I would suggest doing a few more exchanges or free readings in exchange for reviews. So, when you offer these readings say, "free/exchange readings in exchange for a written review" and have them send you a review over email or through a message so that you can screenshot it and post it on your blog or website. I think having reviews makes you seem more credible as a reader and will make potential clients feel safer when considering buying a reading from you, if that makes sense.
Figure out if you want to create an actual shop like I did or if you want to just let people pay by sending you money on like PayPal or Venmo. I would suggest creating an actual shop through Etsy or Storenvy. I just feel like it gives you more protection as a seller but that's just my opinion. There are many different platforms you can look into to see what is best for you like Etsy, Storenvy (that's what I use), Shopify, etc.
Make sure you are charging what you are worth! A lot of people undervalue themselves, especially at first. However, you should be getting paid enough money to make up for the time and energy you put into those readings. So, if a reading takes you an hour to do, you shouldn't be charging just $5 or $10 for it, you know? Don't undervalue yourself, especially if you have the experience and the knowledge, which you do.
That's all I can think of right now but if I think of anything else, I'll be sure to add it! 😊

Hi! So I’m one of the giveaway winners, and would like to give feedback about my reading! 😊
Actually!! I’ve bought readings from Tara’s store before, and I so wasn’t expecting to win this giveaway, I was shocked haha. I really love that her readings are long, really detailed, and organized so well! Like even this free mini-reading was really detailed as well, and talked about specific things. And it was longer than I was expecting for a mini!!
The topic of my reading is really personal, and it had been on my mind for a while, so I’m glad I could get a reading from Tara about it. She’s so nice and just has such a good, calming vibe which is great especially because I was kinda nervous about what I’d get haha. She was completely honest but not in a crass way, which I appreciate 🩷, and she’s just really sweet and gentle!! I’m glad I was able to get this reading, because it gave me the clarity that I needed!
I definitely recommend getting a reading with Tara if you can! She has so many great options in her store 😊
---
Thank you so much for your time and energy spent on my reading, Tara! I really appreciate it! 🩷
Thank you so so so much for taking the time to leave me some feedback! I appreciate that so much and thank you for your kindness. I'm so glad that you enjoyed your readings and found them to be helpful! It's always a pleasure to read for you! ♥️♥️♥️

Your welcome! It was such a game changer when I used my own energy to pick a pile, especially if some readers use things I own like specific crystals or they use my favourite color orange. The saying I actually learnt from a tarot reader who recited this with you just before you asked the question to help you find the energy of the cards.
If anyone feels like doing a spiritual exercise, for connecting to your own energy, the way I understood it best, was to put my hands out in front of me, with space in between them, once you have done that, just look at the space between them with an empty mind, and slowly you should begin to feel the tips on your fingers tingle. It was such a cool thing to feel.
I also have a pick a card request, which has been inspired by a couple of songs and messages from my own future spouse. The idea is"Who wants you to send them to heaven? (This is a romantic reading based on the song Love Me To Heaven by the Jonas Brothers) or you could word it as "Who is daring you to love them?) Which is a Rascal Flatts ft Jonas Brothers song, and my own future spouse actually used this telling me that they are daring me to love them.
Yes, that's such a good exercise to get familiar with energy and to connect with your own energy! 😊
Sure! I can definitely do that! I like that topic! I'll add it to the to-do list! Thank you!

Hey, friends! Here’s an update for the week ahead. I have some PAC readings planned for this week. I will be posting one later today. Also, my wait time for purchased readings is down to 5 business days. So, if you purchase a reading right now, you won’t have to wait as long. Let me know if there is any sort of content you would like to see on here (such as Card of the days, energy checks, tarot tips, etc.) or if you have any suggestions for future PAC readings.
Thank you! I hope everyone has a great week! 🫶

Anon, I love that you asked that question! Tara's advice is really good, and I absolutely get that trusting yourself is a hard thing to do at first. I am going to give a couple suggestions, feel free to use them, but I am also going to give you something I say before I go into the actual picking a pile.
My first suggestion, is to actually use your hands, once you ask the question, point to each pile, and the pile with the strongest tingling sensation in your fingertips is the pile for you, this can also happen in readings where you have 2 or more piles with messages for me.
Suggestion two, is to use a meditation, before you pick. I would recommend using light language for this, and first you should do the heart chakra, and then follow with either your sacral or my favorites the third eye and crown charakras. You could even do, a meditation which is about your connection to source which will help a lot.
Now when I go to do a meditation, I always ask
"Guides, spirit guides, angels and archangels, mother nature, anscestors and interdimensional beings here with me now, I am asking you to give me guidance, advice and answers about the question I am to ask, I would like the truth, that is for my highest and greatest good. I wish to be surrounded by a white light with purple shimmering throughout it to ground my energy to this earth." That is when you ask your higher self to step forward, ask the question.
I hope this helps anon!
This is so helpful! Thank you for adding some more advice for that anon! ♥️

This is going to sound stupid. How do I pick a pile? Is it supposed to be the one my eyes land on first, am I supposed to pick a number that is lucky, is it supposed to be the picture I like the most? I can’t trust part of my brain and I’m always afraid I pick the wrong pile so i literally just skip the reading part of it because I get so stuck on which one I’m supposed to pick and then what if I chose the wrong one on purpose because it wasn’t the actual first one I saw or it was only the first one I saw because it was the middle or oh no it had an unlucky number on the picture I liked…
That's not stupid at all! It's actually a very valid question and something I sometimes have trouble with as well. I too am an overthinker and that can make picking a pile very difficult. So, I feel your struggle, anon!
Here are a couple of my favorite tricks to picking the right pile:
Pick the one your eye goes to first. There will be one pile you will be naturally drawn to and that is usually where your attention gets snagged when you first look at the pile choices. So, don't spend too much time looking at the pile choices because you'll second guess it. Just go with the first one that you are drawn to.
To take some of the guesswork out of it or if I'm not feeling particularly drawn to any one of the piles, I like to use a random number generator. You can just google it. Just enter the number of piles. So, if there are six pile, I enter 0 as the minimum and 6 as the maximum. I say to Spirit either out loud or in my head, "Spirit, which pile is meant for me?" and I hit the Generate button. If it lands on 0, that means that that particular reading wasn't for me at all.
I hope that helps! if anyone else has any tips for picking the right pile, feel free to add! 😊
Love, Tara

I love what you do. Thank you so much for sharing truly. Where or how did you get your start? I’ve been doing readings for myself for a year or so now and I truly never get anything even close to what comes out in your readings. I know I’m doing something wrong, something just isn’t clicking for me. My actual question after all that hoopla is do you have any advice on where to start learning like maybe a book or maybe you’ve already posed about that and I’d so grateful for the link if you have it or honestly just a small shove in a direction preferably the right direction, would be so extra kind of you. I really hope this doesn’t come across as rude.
Thank you, sweet anon! 🫶
So, as far as how I got started, I can give you the full story of my journey with tarot readings if you want me to but for now, I'll keep it short and sweet. I bought my first tarot deck, bought some books, and started out by reading for myself. I then branched out to reading for others, which led me to create this blog. I offered free readings for awhile until I felt like I was good enough to start charging for my readings.
As for how I do my readings, I will say that my reading style has changed drastically within the last two years. It's all about trial and error until you find something that works really well for you.
So, when it comes to my PAC readings, this is how I read and what one pile looks like:
Tumblr media
So, I use a mix of tarot and oracle cards. I pretty much just use the meanings of all of these cards to create a story and give guidance to my client. When I first started, I used to only use one tarot card and maybe one oracle card. However, I have found that using more cards can help you get a clearer and more accurate message. I have found that using only one or two cards just gives you a very basic, very broad message that could really mean just about anything. This may be a hot take but I don't trust any reader that uses just one or two cards. I have NEVER had a good, accurate reading from a reader that just uses one or two cards. If I'm asking a question like "what's next in my love life" or "what is my future spouse like", I want AT LEAST 5 to 6 cards because that is going to be the most detailed and accurate. This is why most of my readings that I sell in my shop turn out to be like 5 to 15 pages long. So, using my Connection Check reading as an example. The first bullet point or question in that reading is "What is the current state of your connection" and for that one question/bullet point, I will pull 4 to 6 cards. That whole reading is 11 questions/bullet points long. So, by the end of the reading, I'll have used 44 to 66 cards. It's a lot, I know but I pride myself in presenting the most detailed, accurate readings that I can and in order to do that, I have to get as much information and guidance from the cards as possible. I also pay attention a lot to the imagery on the card, especially for readings that require me to think more outside the box. So, for example, if we're talking about what someone's future boyfriend looks like and I pull the 10 of Wands (which traditionally shows someone carrying a bunch of sticks), I would say that they probably look tired a lot or look like they are very busy, like they are carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders. I may also say that they are very physically strong because the guy on the card is obviously carrying a bunch of freaking sticks. lol. So, sometimes your reading will require you to think outside the box a little and some of the imagery on your cards may help you do that.
So, my point is, if you are struggling to get accurate, detailed, and clear messages, try these three things:
Try to incorporate more oracle cards into your readings.
Try pulling at least one to two clarifying cards for each card you pull.
Look at the imagery and try to apply that to your readings.
That should help you get more detailed messages!
Now, let's get into resources to help you learn!
First, get yourself a good tarot meanings book that has upright and reversals. I recommend these ones:
The Modern Witchcraft Book of Tarot
The Big Book of Tarot Meanings
The Ultimate Guide To Tarot
The Ultimate Guide to Tarot Card Meanings
The Tarot Companion
Next, look into tarot workbooks/journals with writing prompts. These are really what helped me retain the meanings and connect them to real life situations. I suggest these ones:
Tarot For You
The Weiser Tarot Journal
Every Little Thing You Do Is Magic
Those will help you memorize the meanings of the cards and how they apply to every day life.
Also, watching PAC readings on Youtube because I've gotten some meanings from those videos that I never would have thought of otherwise. I think it's so helpful to see how other readers relate to and interpret the cards.
I hope that this helps you get started! Let me know if you have any other questions! 😊
Love, Tara

I absolutely adore the way you present your readings. Do you make the designs yourself? The slides are so cute and on theme 🥰🥰💖
Aw, thank you, anon! 💕☺️ I do make them myself. I use Canva and I have a premium subscription that gives me access to all of their graphics and stuff like that. Making the slides is low-key one of my favorite parts of doing the PAC readings. lol. 😂

Hi! Your blog is legit one of my fave tarot blogs on tumblr (and highkey in social media in general, I just like the space you've created here :>). I'm thinking of starting my own tarot blog in the near future; I've been doing tarot for about 8 years and I've been feeling inclined to start a tumblr for it but I'm a lil scared ;o; do you have any tips/advice or maybe your own thoughts on what your tumblr journey has been like?
Hi, anon!
Stop, that's so sweet! Thank you so so so so so much! That means the world to me, you don't even know! 😭🥹
That's so exciting! Don't be scared! You'll love being apart of the tarot community here. For the most part, my journey has been overwhelmingly positive. Everyone has been so kind and so welcoming. I also like how most people who are apart of the community are willing to support and help each other out. It's a wonderful source of support, especially if you are learning or trying to grow your craft! So, I definitely think making a tarot blog would be a good step for you, anon!
Here are some tips:
Make your boundaries clear. Especially if you are considering offering readings (free or paid), establishing boundaries is so important. Let your followers and potential clients know what topics and questions you aren't comfortable with, don't be afraid to stand up for yourself, and ensure that people are being respectful to you and your gifts.
Make sure to take care of yourself. It may be tempting to overwork yourself for the sake of growing your blog but please make sure to find some balance and take time to rest and care for yourself. If you don't, you WILL get burnt out very very fast.
You don't have to offer free readings to grow your blog. Offering free readings is a great way to grow your audience and connect with people. However, it's not necessary if that is something you are not comfortable with or just something you don't want to do. That's totally fine! There are other ways to grow your blog. So, just explore and experiment. You'll find your unique voice and people will be drawn to you because of it. For me, I started out offering free readings but after a few years, I switched to PAC readings and I actually found that offering those attracted more people to my blog. So, it's all about finding what works for you!
Be authentic. Try not to compare yourself to others or try to do what others are doing just because they are successful. This is your own journey and you have your own unique voice. By all means, try out what others are doing to see if it works for you but don't get down if you feel like you are behind or not growing as quickly as others. Just be yourself, put your heart and soul into your blog and your content, and the right people will be drawn to you naturally.
That's all I can think of right now! If I think of more, I'll add it! Also, if you have any questions at all, feel free to message me! And when you do make your tarot blog, let me know and I'll follow you! 🫶
Love, Tara
