Old edit I made after Act 3 dropped that still stands. Examining what went wrong in this season feels like an autopsy at this point.

Sharing this incredible video that uses a 90s sitcom about a family of animatronic dinosaurs as a critique of capitalism. It touches on every mainstream talking point that I think could be easily conveyed to the average person when trying to arguing that U.S. culture is ripping itself (and everything it touches) apart.

Post Election – Expect Tax Legislation
I. Introduction With clear Republican victories in the White House and the Senate, and a very slim majority for either side in the House of Representatives, we can expect tax legislation in the coming year. It is expected that the President elect will likely seek to enact his economic agenda as quickly as possible. While Congress may work for bipartisan support of any such legislation,…

Just so there is no confusion, Trump has frozen ALL spending — both domestic and foreign.
This will reduce US power and influence across the globe, cut jobs for union members and working Americans, increase inflation, and let China beat us.
That’s not what America voted for.

Republican presidents are more overtly evil and blatant in the way they screw over their citizens. While I personally would prefer a Democrat (for DEI/climate stance/etc), recall that their words are hollow and each victory they “win” can and will be recalled.
There is no vested interest in either party improving the conditions of women, racial minorities, or the working class, and in fact there are monetary incentives to maintain these structures. When you dehumanize a group of people, you can profit off of them. When women are “less” than men, you can pay them less, even if there’s a female president. When black Americans are “less” than white Americans, you can incarcerate them en masse to maintain the economic structure of (psuedo)slavery to make great profit, even when there’s a black president.
Some Americans rightly recognized the humanitarian crisis at the Mexican border, slandering Trump in 2016-2019 for “kids in cages,” even though the Obama administration put those cages there, but Trump increased the militarization and scope. Some Americans rightly criticize Trump today for the executive orders withdrawing from the Paris agreement, deregulating industries with climate policy, and laying plans to maximize oil and gas industries. However, the Biden admin’s drilling ban mostly covered areas unable to be drilled in or in low value to drill companies, and Harris and Trump famously debated which of them would out-frack the other.
Libs get on here to mourn Jimmy Carter, our bleeding heart Democratic president, although he supported suppressive military regimes in Zaire, Guatemala, and Afghanistan, among other things.
The Democrats ARE marginally better for Americans, but not the world, and they’re certainly not our best option. Truly, we need to be able to create and maintain a third party.
Remember that the US is an empire, and members of our multibillion dollar parties will never have your working class interest in mind. When I dream of liberation for all women, I imagine Sudanese women free from slavery, Filipino and Indonesian women free from horrific working conditions, Palestinian women who do not have to endure their periods in tents, Afghani & Iranian women free to dress and act as they please. The US military-industrial complex has a hand in maintaining the crushing world order of the global south & the Middle East, and economically benefit from those oppressions.
Feminists are correct to criticize those who would eagerly vote in a fascist and his Nazi-saluting lapdog, but the fight does not end at electing a lesser evil.

screaming crying coughing up blood every time i have to fucking defend genocide joe bc ppl wanna lie and say he isn't responsible for most of the best domestic policy we've seen in decades
his foreign policy is dogshit, yes, and he should rightly be called on it and primaried out, but we can criticize the shit he's actually done wrong instead of making shit up about him ~not doing anything good~

Okay I'm gonna say something.
If you wouldn't expect yourself, a friend, or a stranger to be a vocal, energetic activist after years of daily 12-16 hour shifts, you probably shouldn't be surprised that Obama lost some of his 2008 mojo in the later years of his presidency.
Then again, maybe the shift was also due to losing Congress. Idk, I'm just comparing his statement after the Jan 2010 Citizens United decision -
"With its ruling today, the Supreme Court has given a green light to a new stampede of special interest money in our politics. It is a major victory for big oil, Wall Street banks, health insurance companies and the other powerful interests that marshal their power every day in Washington to drown out the voices of everyday Americans. This ruling gives the special interests and their lobbyists even more power in Washington — while undermining the influence of average Americans who make small contributions to support their preferred candidates. That's why I am instructing my Administration to get to work immediately with Congress on this issue. We are going to talk with bipartisan Congressional leaders to develop a forceful response to this decision. The public interest requires nothing less."
With people's general perception of him as a leader, drawing on idk, vibes, from 2012 onwards. Like, that's the same guy. Probably even a bit more radicalized by all the DC bullshit. But keeping up that public energy is unsustainable during a presidency.
