I am quite pleased and facinated with the discussion points my small ramble has produced thus far. And I agree, Lucifer does strike me as the type to have been petty to anyone in Al's position in regards to Charlie.

Alastor just happens to be the type to perceive an insult and say I take "parental failures" for 800.

Lucifer was interesting in ep 5. It's made clear that though he's been in hell for millenia he still, in this story, is maintaining an Angelic mentality.

That Sinners once condemned aren't worth the effort. And they will continue to sin and ultimately to disappoint. There are winners and there are losers and if you question how the game is won you'll wind up losing too.

And this mentality, is classist in nature.

Charlies and her father follows/parallels Sera and Emily's relationship.

Both Lucifer/Sera purposely distancing themselves from their loved ones and pretend nothing is wrong in an attempt to protect them has caused and will continue cause more problems.

His self awareness in his faults as a father and his decision to support Charlies dream doesn't mitigate the fact that when Charlie's hotel is in physical danger his first words are basically the same as Seras during the hearing which were...

"I told you so."

So! Heroes have a bad habit of stealing Technology when they need it.

The Flash usually stole from Star Labs or any of the dozens of smaller Labs in Central City. Batman was suspected to steal Tech from Wayne Enterprises to build his gadgets. Even Superman stole from Lexcorp every once in a while, although that was more understandable considering their history.

Heroes, despite their main job being to stop people from stealing, were not exactly paragons of The Law. They committed crimes on occasion to stop Villains, and most people just agreed to ignore the tiny crimes every now and then.

Now the Big Crimes, that was a different story. Taking the big important pieces of Tech from these Labs was definitely liable to get people made at them.

All this to say, Danny was not amused when he walked into his Personal Lab one morning only to find his Whole-Ass Portal missing from it's spot in the Wall.

There is no convincing this man that Shen Qingqiu is dead. Absolutely nothing at all. He is buried so deep in denial that moles would be jealous of how deep he is. He keeps making tea for two in the bamboo house only to remember that it's just him. SQQ's fans are hiding everywhere, little reminders of his presence. He goes to wake up SQQ on the mornings he sleeps in-- only to find the room empty.
