A little snippet of the Bucktommy amnesia fic that has consumed me as of late

“Evan?” His voice is too small, shaking out into an empty room.

He tries again, louder this time and turns towards the door. The movement was a mistake, the swirling in his head rockets into vertigo. He knocks against something and tries to hold onto it but he can feel himself slipping down towards the floor. He’s shaking with the weight of the name ringing through his head - Evan. The one he doesn’t remember, the one he knows he’s terrified to be without.

There’s a sound in the edge of his awareness, something coming towards him, but it feels so far away, like he’s being dragged down underwater. The hand on his face is helping, a thumb gently swiping away the tears falling down his cheeks, a voice emerging through the fog.

“I’m sorry, sweetheart, hey, can you look at me? I’m sorry”

He forces himself to look up, sees him there, the face he can’t quite hold on to, blue eyes blazed with fear.

“Please don’t leave me” is all he can manage.

finally tracked down the post ep9 IG live and wanted to expand on this scene with some additional insights from Tim:

during those 6 years Orca would fly to Taiwan randomly for a day here and there just to prepare a meal or clean the apartment for Reese without even seeing him. Orca continued to learn Chinese and Reese kept studying Thai in those years, but to fill in the gaps between languages they picked up pen and paper and started drawing

i just think it's a beautiful thing when you pick up new habits because you love someone and want to do everything you can to be able to communicate with them
