have you heard of the Cupid Watcher Skizz headcanon? I promise it’s relevant.

My train of thought was that; essentially he was turned into a watcher temporarily (or smth like that) and he played a sort of Cupid role, choosing and tying everyone’s souls together. Skizz wasn’t in double life because that season was all about bonds and trust (among many other things) but Skizz already understood all of that. He didn’t need to learn those lessons because he already knew them. So the watchers said, “Hey why don’t we trust this guy who’s all about loyalty and appreciation to do this!”

I remember thinking, “oh he put BDubs and Impulse together because he wanted them to resolve all the issues they’ve had in previous seasons. He just wants what’s best for his Homie Buddy, after all!”

anyways sorry for the long ask I thought you would appreciate the Clock Duo mention (and maybe make some art of it :3 ? no pressure ofc never any pressure!)

i actually think that headcanon is so so so fun!! the idea of traffic!skizz being able to (potentially, depending on if you agree the reddit theory) give birth to a curse centered around bloodlust and betrayal vs contributing to the making of a season revolving around love and trust is so goofy to me and such a cool contrast. his character is too powerful. his heart is too big

i did actually doodle this like?? a year and a half ago maybe?? anyways he’s smashing them together like barbie dolls hoping for the best (he has unknowingly doubled his best friend’s clock centered situationship related trauma)

hello!!

I'm trying to improve my art especially digital so I'm asking for any tips or anything else you learned from your years of drawing!!

also I LOVE your art and hope you have a wonderful day!!!

DISCLAIMER ‼️ these are just things that have helped me in my own personal journey. if something doesn’t vibe with you the same way it vibes with me, that is a hundred percent okay!!

my first piece of advice, and probably something many people have said before: find a brush you like. or a couple brushes. or experiment all the time!! sometimes you’ll find yourself feeling a certain way and only a certain brush can get those feelings across. i personally go for ones with more texture, but do whatever floats your boat!! some of my biggest growth actually came from switching my usual brush so it really does make a huge difference sometimes!!

second bit of advice: don’t be afraid to analyze other peoples’ art and learn from them!! blatantly copying someone or tracing their stuff isn’t okay obviously, but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with finding inspiration in other artists and using their methods as a foundation for you to build upon and make your own. sometimes i look at my style and can still recognize the bits where i was inspired by some of my favorite artists. and i actually think it’s a pretty beautiful thing to grow your style off of stuff you admire. inspiration is everywhere, don’t be afraid to latch onto it!!

next thing, and this one has helped me a surprising amount: keep all of your art (well, maybe not all of it, but as much as you want or can). whether it’s old or it “sucks” or you never finished it, keep it. keep it so you can look back on it whenever you feel stuck. because no matter how iffy you may feel about your art in the moment, you are always improving. and having a reminder of that is so incredibly motivating!! sure, this isn’t something that will probably actively influence your development on an artistic level, but it’s there to remind you that you have grown and that you will continue to grow. every piece you make, big or small, paves a path for something even greater.

and lastly, at least from my experience: don’t panic and stress over figuring everything out right away. i’ve been drawing ever since i can remember and i still can’t draw animals properly or do dynamic poses and perspective or know like anything about color theory. i do believe in the sentiment that every artist should be as well rounded as they can be in the basics of things like diversity and anatomy, but that doesn’t mean you need to overwork yourself trying to get it perfect when you’re still figuring yourself out. it’s absolutely okay to just draw for fun and then worry about the logistics later. art should be something you enjoy making, not something you’re stressing to make as realistic as possible.

i have many more things i could say or add probably but yeah!! moral of the story: you are constantly growing and changing as an artist no matter what. you will always have the potential to make something incredible regardless of where you are in your journey. because making art in of itself is beautiful, and it’s so beautiful because it’s subjective. never lose sight of that. don’t let anybody tell you that there’s only one way to draw or one way to improve because there’s not!! it’s different for everybody because everybody and their art is so special and unique!!

at the end of the day, my biggest tip is to just do what makes you happy. growth will always happen, even if you’re drawing the same middle aged minecraft man for two and a half years straight. enjoy what you’re making first and foremost, and then experiment along the way. take things at your own pace and have fun!!

always remember where you came from and have hope for where you’ll go <3 you’ve got this!!
