This is the lake in my backyard. I am very thankful that I get to watch all the wildlife doing their thing on this lake. There's never a dull moment... the foot long bass are jumping out of the water or the eagles and hawks are fishing or the otters and beavers are swimming by or the ducks are swimming by or the frogs are making noise or the great blue herons and cormorants are hanging out on the log or turtles are sunning themselves on the log or the geese are honking or the deer are grazing at the water line or the birds are singing and flying about or the bears are swimming away from my neighbor's dogs or..... well, you get the idea. The possibilities are endless. It's the perfect place for a hermit like me to live. I love it here. No matter what kind of day I have, I can always go look at the lake, and I feel great. Nature is a great therapist 😉😁😍 There is so much beauty and joy to be found in nature. It's very healing. When I lived in NYC, I would enjoy the few trees that were there or go to Central Park and revel in the beauty of my surroundings. Nature is always there for me wherever I go. For that, I'm very, very grateful. I hope that you all have something in your life that brings you joy and peace like this little lake and nature does for me. If you take the time to look for it, you will find it because it's there. 😊😍🙏🏼✌🏼

Contentment is… spending the day with my husband and my friends of 20 years, walking around the beautiful countryside, getting rained on heavily but not giving a single fuck.

Contentment is… stopping for coffee and a farm shop visit on the way home.

Contentment is… putting dinner on and going for a hot bath upon arriving home.

Contentment is… sitting drinking my favourite red wine and listening to a ghost stories podcast once out of the bath and waiting for it to finish.

Contentment is whatever you want it to be. It doesn’t need to be fancy or costly either. Life could be better between work and a lack of money right now, but filling it with soul nourishing activities is where I find my joy 😊

I think as a society we need to relearn that we don't have to continue doing something if we don't want...

Reading fan fiction and you don't like the content, style, a word they used, grammar, etc.?

You don't have to finish it, and you don't need to tell the world you thought it was awful, just back away.

(The only time you need to tell the author is if there is something that wasn't tagged for and you think it should have the tag, then politely say, 'could you please tag for x?' It helps everyone.)

See fanart and you don't like the style, pairing, etc.? Back away, block if you desire (be that the artist, or the subject of the art itself), and move on. Same with art in a museum. Don't like it? Move on to something that you do like.

Just change the station, skip the song. Find things that speak to you. Dwell on things that bring you joy not on things that cause negativite feelings.

Hatred is not a personality. Being mean and bullying anyone for any content they produce (especially for free) because you personally didn't like it is a waste of YOUR time.

(Reviews for TV shows, movies, published books can be informative and explain why you didn't like a thing without putting the content creators down as human beings. Saying you didn't like a character, arc, style, etc on a review on Amazon is acceptable, encouraged, accepted. Comments on fandom sites like A03 are for celebrating with the author. Trust me, as a writer, no comments tell me more than a single negative comment ever could.)

Find stuff that brings you glimmers and sparkles and joy. You are allowed to stop reading, watching, looking, following someone because you don't like it. And you don't even need a reason for that. You are allowed to dislike stuff just because.

But your dislike isn't the content creators problem, so just move along and find your joy instead of deciding to make it everyone else's problem.

Everyone wins that way, especially you.

Petey is very happy!!! 😁 I was looking for something in my closet and found this adorable fluff and tuff wolf that I had bought for Petey a long time ago. I had forgotten that it was there. I was just thinking that it's about time to buy her another toy and woot, there it is!!! We are having a great time playing with the little wolf. I love surprises like this one. 😍 they bring joy to all involved!!! It's gonna be a great day. It's, definitely, been a great start to the day!!!
