Good Omens-wise...

damn im starting to think I hallucinated the edition that I used to have. I remember this very questionable cover, and the illuminated letters (about that I'm sure bc i have an also very questionable tattoo of the ampelsand-bat divider thing on my neck. Ftr I wanted to do that apple right there bc it's GORGEOUS but idk I make also questionable decisions somerimes). But anyway, that's really not the photo that I remember. I have a very vivid memory of that graveyard photo (you know the one) and then the bio talking about the banana daiquiris. They changed it in later editions, as Terry wasn't so fond anymore of banana daiquiris.

The weirdest thing is, from all the clues I'm gathering, it seems that the edition that I used to have (if it wasn't an hallucination) would be one of the very first editions/prints of Good Omens. Now, the question is: how on Earth did my 16-year-old self, in a remote. corner of Brazil, 16 years after the release of the book, got hold of this possibly-first-edition of Good Omens?? AND HOW ON EARTH DID I LOSE IT??

Idk dude, the Hallucination Theory gets stronger and stronger by the day.

2.6 NEWS! And deepdrive

I don't know if anyone have made a post about this, but anyway here is what was in the broadcast. But eather way. I decided to write a little deep drive to the CN 2.6 Dev Broadcast.

1. Therelease date of the PV.

The PV will be released on February 21.

2. Story, place, and title of the new chapter

And 2.6 will be a main story update. The story will take place in Argentina, more specificly in Ushuaia.

The title of the new chapter will be "Madness and Civilization", which is a refrenc to the book Madness and Civilization by the Franch philosopher Michel Foucault.

2.a) Madness and Civilization, and the posible themes the new chapter will have

Madness and Cicilization, or Madness and Civilization: A History of Insanity in the Age of Reason as it's full name, is an examination of the evolution of the meaning of madness in cultures, laws, politics, philosophy, and medicing in Europe from the middle ages to the end of the 18th century. The book is also a critique of the idea of history and of the historical method.

The books uses the language of phenomenology, a part of sociology that examines the concept of social reality as a product of intersubjectivity, in order to explain the social structeres in the history of Othering of insane people from society. This book is Foucault's philosphicall progress from phenomenology towoards something similar to structuralism, which is also a part of social sciences and is about interpreting elements of human culture by way of their relationship to a broader system.

Although Foucault rejected the label.

3. New characters, and the things they refrenc or are based on.

We will get 2 new 6 starts characters. Ficciones and Aleph.

3.a) Ficciones

Ficciones is a refrenc to a book writen by Argentine writer and poet Jorge Luis Borges. The book is a colection of short stories, and was written and published between 1941 and 1956. The book is dedicated to Esther Zamborain de Torres Duggan a firned and collabrorator of Borges. The writing style of Ficciones emphasizes and calls attention to it's fictional nature.

The labyrinth is a recurring motif throughout the stories. It is used as a metaphore to represent a variety of things. The overwhelmingly complex nature of worlds and the systems that exist on them. Human enterprises, the physical and mental aspects of humans, and abstract consepts such as time.

Other themes that can be found throughout Borges's stories include: philosophical issues, deterioration and ruination, games of strategy and chance, conspiracies and secrets societies, and ethnic groups especially those in his own ancestry.

3.b) Aleph

Aleph s the first letter of the Semetic abjads. An abjad is a writing system in which only consonants are represented, leaving the vowel sounds to be inferred by the reader.

Semetic abjads include Phoenician, Hebrew, Aramaic, Syriac, Arabic, and North Arabian.

4. Series of Dust update, and expension

Series of Dusk will get a new expansion called Ephemeral Coda. Once this expension is enabled, a new choice and cost mechanic will be introduced when selecting route. Different routes will offer diffrent busss and artifacts. But selecting an artifact will require paying a cost, which in turn will strenghten enemies.

Additionally even withouth enabling the expansion, a new Goldsmith Prohecy system will be introduced, allowing players to earn actra keepsakes each week, up to a storage limit.

This update will also add a new ending, which lucly can be triggered withouth needing to enable the expansion.

WE NEED TO NORMALIZE SEEING ADULTS WITH TOYS IN OUR EVERYDAY LIVES

Collectors are supposed to let their toys in shelves at their homes, but honestly, I still like to "play" with toys to this day and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I mean, what's the problem in being passionate about an interest? It's okay to collect figurines and dolls but it's not okay to show them publicly? Why can't I bring one of my monster high dolls to my highschool just for funsies? Can't I just show it to my friends?

Some time ago I was very excited about restoring my Buzz Lightyear doll and brought him to school to show his progress to my friends. Everyone who saw him had a fun time playing with his voice box and movements, and honestly, in my case, holding your favorite character in hands feels very nice. Everytime we had to walk I just said "hold on let me bring him with us" and we just chuckled and took care of him like he was a baby, lmao. I love ficcional characters and having an hyperfocus on a character I own a doll of makes me not want to leave it at home, you know? I tend to express this passion through backpack pins about my interests and tons of keychains made out of small toys, which is the only way people don't judge an adult having toys.

I know that adults with toys in the world's view look "stupid", and I think that's the stupidest thing ever. Many neurodivergent people use toys as a way to regulate themselves. Many adult people sleep with a childhood teddy bear to this day. And it pisses me tf out the fact that I'm supposed to leave the stuff I like on the shelves to collect dust just because I can't bring them with me in fear of public judgement, because even though we try to ignore it, we know that judgement feels terrible.

Someone told me they would like to read an english version of this, so here is the translation of the comic I shared yesterday :>

I forgot to mention before that this scene is inspired by the “Lisado de Corazón”, a technique developed by Federico Díaz, a Pharmaceutical Chemist from Rivera, Uruguay. He was heavily questioned for his experiment, as this medicine includes decomposed meat and it was based on observing the behaviour of animals outside of a laboratory, which was considered not so scientific. I find it very interesting. What I made with my characters is in a fictional setting, so it is not exactly the same process.

Also, I started working on some new pages, but it will take me a while to finish drawing them.

When it comes to fictional characters, there are baby boys, and there are baby girls. Those have nothing to do with binary ideas of gender thou, it's all about vibes. I will say, however, that when a character is both a baby boy AND a baby girl they're most likely non-binary. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.
