Are you afraid they’ll find out you abandoned your studies to take care of your dear Victor. Are you afraid they’ll find out you’re gay. Is that why you’ve omitted every possible detail.

Am I the only one who feels like Kazui and Yuno are kinda swapping roles this trial? Yuno is becoming Mahiru. She’s copying her appearance, mannerisms and speech patterns; all in her mourning. Mahiru became important to her, and she’s becoming her in order to hide from some of the grief Yuno herself is experiencing. She’s only doubled down on her lying to protect herself and honor her loved one. Kazui doesn’t seem to be lying anymore, or at least not trying to. Because he just doesn’t care anymore. He’s so deep in self-hatred and guilt that came with all the deaths (especially Shidou’s) that he’s not trying to protect himself anymore. He stopped being important to himself, and now any of his lies would just be on habit. Nothing is really that important to him anymore.

I am so scared for Liar Duo this trial release them and give them therapy please.

holy god i just remembered at a theatre competition i was at a fee days ago, one of the one-acts was ‘franz kafka cancels his cell phone service’ and it was a BANGER. after being refused service, he is essentially locked in the janitorial closet for a large amount of time, before this investigator guy lets him out and tells him he’s under arrest for an unnamed crime (crazy right. almost like. the trial by franz kafka.) and he isnt allowed to leave the store and his lawyer comes in and shes all like ‘dude you fucked up.’

and then after realizing he isnt allowed to do anything else, he goes BACK in the janitors closet. and the lawyer picks up a rubber chicken that has been on a table the entire time and then pute it back down (it is NEVER mentioned again). and then the lawyer lady gets wprried about mr kafka and knocks on the closet door and forces it open. this man has done a full costume change into a fucking cockroach costume. mind you it was JUST A DOOR. this guy did a seamless costume change behind only a door and no one noticed.

anyway he comes out and its like whargh?? and then the investigator guy comes back and hes like “we’ve reached a verdict. you will be put to death.” and sprays him with a comically large can of bugspray. they talk to him as hes twitching on the ground. fade to black curtains close the end.

may be my favorite one-act ever due to both the fact that its two kafka works mixed into a fever dream play.
