One of my favorite, favorite things out of the Spare AU is the inclusion of Midgar and by extension the Turks and how they interact with the Chocobros
Idk just the concept of Reno and Rude harassing them randomly while they are out on missions is so fun to write about and i can see the scenes where Nejry washes up on the shores of Midgar after the aftermath of Leviathan's fury (not to mention the scene where she reunites with the boys after joining the two turks breifly) so vividly that im trying not to drop everything and just draw that chapter right now

Even if they haven't been updated in ages, none of my original stories have been forgotten! They will be updated in the unforeseeable future! ...I cannot say the same for multichaptered fanfics.

"My Grace, his Imperial Highness is requesting for a cup of tea, shall I tell him to-" You slam the table loudly, causing Court Lady Choi to flinch. She bows her head, trembling a little.
"He's everywhere, and I hate it!" You huff, crossing your arms together. Court Lady Choi tilts her head, not getting what you're saying. "What are you saying, My Grace?"
You've been keeping in mind what General Beomgyu told you a few hours ago. About the whole dramatic effect of the horse ride, and how you have to avoid the Crown Prince in order to avoid any war with the Cheol family.
"Its all because of that dramatic ass. She's acting as if I'll steal her man, when her family has the Kang's wrapped around their fingers!" You furrow your brows, bothered how you have to do a whole mission to avoid the most annoying and bothersome person to exist in your whole palace life.
It was troublesome enough to have Taehyun around, but avoiding him would be worse. He would appear more than usual and avoiding him will only cause chaos. It's as if the odds of seeing him would increase drastically.
"Tell him I'm sleeping peacefully and make a whole story how I didn't sleep well because on how much I miss my home, and bothering me would be a bad idea." Court Lady Choi hoped she would get a raise after this.
An Eunuch whispers to the Crown Prince, informing him the "saddening" story about the Concubine's condition that Court Lady Choi whispered to him about.
He snorts, catching the obvious lie. "She's back at her dramatic way of finding excuses to avoid me again." But he lets you be, after all- you'll see him more than you think you will. He'll let you enjoy your peace, for now.
He walks out of the hall, the stone patterns feeling his steps. A few paces, his little walk gets disrupted by a shout of his name. "Prince Taehyun!" There was one person in the palace who doesn't refer to him as the "Crown Prince." He knew all too well, and prepared himself mentally, and maybe physically too.
Concubine Yang notices the place he just exited, which drops her big grin when he greeted him; she holds on anyway, pretending to not notice her hurting heart. "How have you been? It feels like we haven't talked for a while!" She chirps, her sweet behavior only prone to the man before her.
The Crown Prince lets out a small smile, while biting his cheek a little. "It's nice to see you."
"Where are you heading next? We could talk for a little while!" Taehyun wishes that he should've just flew over the palace to get to his destination- by his own.
The pair walked through the rocky path, heading towards the Emperor's chambers as he was requested to. He was suspicious about what it would be, but he would save the accusations later.
He looked at the woman beside him, talking about her life so carelessly. Taehyun wouldn't deny he was envious of the woman, how she could live a life so free in the palace despite being a royal concubine.
"My Prince, are you okay?" He nods at her concerns, as he was merely lost in thought. She noticed immediately that he was thinking about something else, as she was chirping away about her life.
She chose to ignore it, maybe because he was busy with all the affairs of the palace. But in the back of her mind, a thought remains.
The two arrive in front of the Emperor's hall, coming to a halt before facing the other.
"Well, I suppose you've reached your destination." She bows, "I'll see you another time, Prince Taehyun." With her hands placed on her front, she walked away from the Prince without seeing his face. It was odd enough.
The Crown Prince didn't intervene any further. He knew that things between him and Concubine Yang was not going well at all; it's causing her to go crazy.
But what could he do anyway? He's merely the Crown Prince, and his father a mere puppet of the Cheol family.
Shaking off his thoughts, he steps over to the Emperor's hall, preparing to face whatever he needed to do.
The wooden floors of the hall echoes against the walls, with the Crown Prince and his servants trailing behind him, he cant help but still think about your sob story earlier. Usually, you wouldn't mind sharing a cup of tea with him, but oddly enough- it didn't happen.
The court lady incharge notices Taehyun, and immediately fixes her stance along with the other maids and eunuchs. She clears her throat, preparing to announce his arrival to the Emperor.
"The Crown Prince is here!"
With one last sigh, Kang Taehyun murmurs, "Open." The court maids obey, as they open the sliding doors- revealing the Emperor curled up around his desk. He walks over to him, hearing the sliding doors close.
"Your Majesty." Taehyun bows, his voice echoing across the quiet room. "You called for me?" He bites his tongue, awaiting his father's response.
"Oh, Taehyun." Emperor Kang replies, finally noticing his son. "You've finally arrived, I expected you to come earlier, but something may have delayed you." A sprinkle of dissapointment was tossed onto his sentence, and Taehyun seemed to taste it. He took a breath, preparing himself.
"I had just visited Concubine L/N, as she is a good lady to talk to." He speaks honestly, not wanting to lie at moments like this. The Emperor scoffs, unsatisfied with his son's doing.
He raises his voice, "You should spend less tine with Concubine L/N, and more with Concubine Yang. Goodness, what happend to you, Taehyun?" He crosses his arms, eyes fuming with irritation.
The Crown Prince dosen't dare to speak, enduring his father's complaints. He maintains his posture, and he feels himself sinking.
His father was too far into the manipulation, his goals shared with the Cheol family. Taehyun sighs, not daring to snap his father back into reality. There was no escape for his father, he was too deep into it.
"Speaking about Concubine L/N, you must be aware that me and her have to spend a night together, today." Taehyun's eyes widen; he completely forgotten about what your position meant in the palace- to concieve a baby with blood of the Emperor.
He could already imagine what your reaction would be like.
"What the hell? Thats gross! Isn't he like old or something? I'm not sleeping with an old man!" The image of you screaming is so clear in his mind.
He can also imagine your court maid reminding you of your position in the palace. "My Grace, you are a royal concubine afterall... it is your job."
And he can picture you fighting back. "Man, just kill me! Dang it! Someone else can just do it with him, I dont care!"
He does feel bad for you, a free spirit roaming around the spirit, someone full of life would have to go through something like that, and even the Crown Prince wouldn't want even if he was born a girl.
So he does the most "reasonable" solution according to him.
You sigh, feeling bored. "Okay, I'm going out for a walk!" You declare, storming out of the chambers. The court maids and eunuchs trail behind you, preparing for another eventful day.
Honestly, you couldn't just sit down and feel bored all day, and a walk would be nice too. But behind normal intentions, you have something hidden behind it.
"Gossip? My Lady- I mean, My Grace! How could you listen to something so obscene!" Court Lady Choi screams, after hearing your request via whisper for the "best places to get gossip."
"Shh. Court Lady Choi, It's fine! No one will know, except me, you and Hong-Yeon!" The two ladies shake their heads, clearly pent up from your crazy ideas.
You walk around, trying hard to overhear any conversation aligned by gossip. The palace seems a lot more interesting because of your sly morning walk.
And as if it was meant to be, you overheard a few court maids mumbling together.
"Hey, have you heard? Theres a ghost in the royal library! They say, it's a ghost of one of the former royal tutors, roaming around due to his job." One court maid tells the tale, as if she was reading a storybook for children.
"How can we believe that?" Another court maid comments. The one telling the story tutted her tongue.
"Because Court Lady Kim saw it all- while she was serving the Crown Prince having lecture lessons, she went to fetch a book, but she witnessed a ghost reading amongst the shelves, engulfed into the shadows!" They all scream in fear.
You snort, hiding against the wall. "Top tier story telling. Now even I'm curious if it's true." And an idea lits up in your brain. You dont believe in ghosts anyway, especially being in the historical era. It was merely impossible.
"Okay, we have a new destination." You announce to your two maids, "Royal Library!" You march over, earning confused glances from the two court maids, but should they really be still confused when around you?
"My Grace, I'm sure theres probably no one-" Hong-Yeon gets cut off by getting startled from you throwing a book across their direction, accidentally. She luckily dodged, gaining a concerned nod from Court Lady Choi.
"I'm pretty aware, but I'm quite curious to it myself." You hold your chin, thinking. "It might've been someone just lurking around the shadows and reading a book." You snort.
They nod, yet they see you looking around the library, tossing books around. You were well aware there was no ghost, but you just wanted to look around for anything suspicious. You just needed to make drama for yourself.
"In K-dramas, they usually have hidden books around these halls." You whisper to yourself, opening books to read their content and find something interesting.
The court maids decided to step outside first to give you your privacy, which you enjoy as you can easily ramble on and talk to yourself without making a clown out of yourself.
"What even am I trying to find...?" You laugh at your self stupidity. Yet your guts tell you that there is something lurking around these halls, a secret hidden just in the open.
"Oh?" You find an oddly standing out book, hidden among the shelves. "The Crown Prince's diary." Your eyes widen, suprised at the hidden treasure. "These are usually private, why is this here- and aren't Emperor's only allowed to have these?" Your brain is bursting with questions, and one thing can answer majority- to open it.
"Log one," you read the written words. "Crown Prince Taehyun and his grandmother, the Empress Dowager are spending time doing archery." You raise a brow, only reading a normal diary.
You clear your throat, "The Empress Dowager taught him how to always turn a blind eye to things, and let the older people like the Dowager and the Emperor handle it." Odd, you thought.
Continuing the paragraph, "The Empress Dowager has gotten angry at the little prince for reading. She thinks that reading is pointless, and he should not be like his grandfather." You raise a brow. "Why would reading be bad for him?" Your question remains unanswered, as you continued scrolling.
"All of the logs have the Crown Prince and the Empress Dowager spending tike together, be it lectures or archery." You scanned through all the pages, confirming your claims. And you see the last page, the credit on who wrote the diary.
"Royal Tutor Han." You read the name, thinking about if anyone still existed in the palace like him. If he was apart of the Crown Prince's childhood, he would most likely been out of the palace at this time.
"The Crown Prince has been sealed ever since he was young, even his grandmother has been resisting him to read." You mumble, feeling a pit of pity inside your stomach. "Its odd too how something as valuable as this book is in plain sight."
Shaking your head, you decide to leave the book back to its original spot. Sighing to yourself, you didn't find anything interesting rather than the royal diary oddly placed into the royal library.
You step out of the library grounds, seeing your servants faces firstly. "My Grace, we must head back; it is dark." Court Lady Choi gently mutters, her eyes roaming around your expression, whilist hers remain concerned.
"Hm? Oh yeah, lets go." You nod, lost in thought. The three of you walk officially out of the palace's library halls to head back to your chambers, as it was getting dark.
The two held lamps with wooden holders, making the palace's path a little more lit that it was.
The journey back to the chambers was a little bit far, but not too much. Just a few turns and there; then you can arrive back to the chambers.
You do notice royal officials bowing at you now and then, be it the Minister of Taxation, Second Left State Councilor, or the other lower ranked royal concibines passing by at this time of night.
"Court Lady Choi!" Someone shouts, and as you three turn around, you see a eunuch running towards you like he was about to tag you or something.
He pants, stopping in front of you and raises his head. He looks at you, and bows. "My Grace!" You awkwardly smile, confused.
He then implies that he has something to say to Court Lady Choi, and whispers something to her ear. Her eyes widen, wider than the moon set up in the night sky. She screams, grabbing your arm and sprinting.
"Woah, what the heck!" You scream, getting dragged. Hong-Yeon follows, screaming. "Whats wrong, Court Lady Choi!" She squeals.
"Concubine L/N has to spend a night with the Emperor!" She screams, and in queue, you feel your soul leaving your body, as if the two servants were dragging a lifeless body.
"My Grace, are you alright?" Court Lady Choi croaks out, scrubbing your back with soap as you get bathed by your servants. You feel yourself staring into space, your soul flying around.
"My Grace, are you... crying?!" Hong-Yeon notices, as she runs over to you and scan you even properly. The court ladies and maids look at you, concerned on why something such a blessing could make you like this.
"I dont want to fucking do this anymore." Your voice echoes across your mind, your last bit of sanity speaking.
You scream, as if you were holding it back for twenty years. "I dont want to spend the night with the Emperor- he's old! He's literally the Crown Prince's father- the one among my age! I dont wanna do it with an old man!" You whine like a baby, splashing the bath water all around.
"My Grace, you have to. It's a Concubine's responsibility, and as the second ranked concubine, he will come alot more for you, and with your strong connections with the Choi family." Court Lady Choi explains.
"Fuck! I dont wanna get it from an old jerk!" You whine even louder, wanting to bang your head into the water. "Can't the one ranked first be the one he always visits? I dont want to be!" You cry.
And with that, you just pray that he actually gets sick on his way, and you wont be able to spend the night with him ever again, and you mean never by never.
A few minutes later after dying up, the court maids and ladies dress you up with your best attire, as you sob. "I'm wearing a good outfit, yet it's going to be the worst event of my life."
"Goodbye, my freewill, my spirit, my life." You dramatically grab your heart, as if you were having a attack.
"My Grace, you must sit down at your bed and wait for the Emperor." Hong-Yeon pats your back, trying to comfort you in some way. "Dont worry, you still have to eat and drink so maybe you can get him drunk and throw him off?" She chirps.
"Hong-Yeon, I might get arrested if I do that."
She falls silent, "Oh."
"Okay, I might actually reconsider that option." You two walk over to your main bedroom, setting you up and fixing the bedsheets.
You sat there in agony, as if you were about to face collage exams except you didn't review at all and you had a mind of a child, and has no escape no matter excuse you say.
"I'll leave you now, My Grace." Hong-Yeon finishes fixing the bedsheets, and she bows before leaving and giving you privacy.
"I feel like I should just kill the Emperor, then run for my life and escape and go with Soobin and Hobak." You think about it, and it wasn't that bad of an option.
His footsteps echo against the wooden door, causing the court ladies whisper among themselves and giggle together. Court Lady Choi secretly prays for your safety and wellbeing, and Hong-Yeon prepares a hit-and-run plan for you in her mind.
The court ladies gasp loudly, some dropping their wooden cups and their jaws dropping to the floor.
Court Lady Choi clears her throat, thinking about what to actually say. "He has arrived!"
He waits for five seconds, then commands her. "Open."
The doors fly open, as the night's chapter starts to unfold its pages. He walks in, getting sight of you sitting down on the bed, staring at the wooden floor.
The door finally shuts, and it was his queue to walk over to you, his footsteps getting louder ringing in your ears. You just silently pray.
"Hello..." You silently murmur, your voice quiet. You still dont look up, fearful upon the sight in front of you.
The man dosen't speak, but continues to stand there. It was as if he was just looking down at you, awaiting your next movement.
You raise a brow, "Why is this fucking man not speaking? Does he really want me to do the first move?" You mentally scoff.
"Well-" You look up, your breath hitched as your eyes widen at the unexpected sight infront of you. You feel your hands feel wobbly, and you lose control of them from shock.
Your mouth drops, utterly speechless and shocked at what you're seeing right now.
"KANG TAEHYUN?!" You scream, seeing the Crown Prince chuckle to himself with his crossed arms. His usual smirk is plastered all over his face, his normal attire worn, and his hair down for the first time, strangely.

Saw a thread saying FFXV is 'objectively' the best FF game. As much as I love FFXV, I disagree. For me it's a tie between:
FFX (single player, tight linear narrative, the game that launched 1000 AUs) vs. FFXIV (mmo, 6 JRPGs in a trench coat, many highs and lows)
If I had to pick my top 5 (in order of release date):
Final Fantasy VIII (1999)
Final Fantasy X (2001)
Final Fantasy XV (2016)
Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers (2019)
Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker (2021)
Note: I'm waiting for the last part of FFVIIR to come out before judging it fully c:

Running across those old .gifs of the FF//XV boys made me miss them. I have an ASSLOAD of fic about them. Maybe I should edit repost some of it. There's one in particular that's so wildly AU, you wouldn't even have to know a damn thing about them to enjoy it.
Maybe I'll change a few details and repost it as original fic. Hmmm....

Questions! 1) Are you a megane IRL? 2) Do you enjoy other FF games, or just XV? 3) Do you prefer the Ep Ignis ending, or the main ending to their story? 4) Who do you ship Ignis with the most, if at all? 5) What's your favorite color? 6) Has anything come out recently you really enjoyed?
Ahhhhh YAY thank you so much for sending me an ask! I'm excited!!
1) Are you a megane IRL?
Sort of?? I'd always wanted glasses and got my wish a few years ago! I'm a bit farsighted (objects turn blurry once they get a few inches close to my face) so I typically only wear glasses when I am focusing on screens (such as my computer monitor, TV or phone), otherwise I don't need them and can see quite well. But does this classify me as an Official Megane™? I guess so, since there is usually a screen involved in my day to day life. 😂
2) Do you enjoy other FF games, or just XV?
While XV is my favourite for a majority of reasons, I've played and enjoyed quite a few other FF games over the years! I especially love 6, 7 and 9. My favourite RPG series are actually non-FF though!
3) Do you prefer the Ep Ignis ending, or the main ending to their story?
I assume you mean the "Verse 2" ending of Episode Ignis when you say the Episode Ignis ending - and the answer is… I like both of them, but ultimately I prefer the main ending of the game. I love a good tragedy (as much as it makes my heart hurt!!) and there is beauty in it through the tears. However, I am also not opposed to the idea of "happy, everyone lives" AUs, which Verse 2 delivers quite nicely, so I can enjoy it purely in a "what if" scenario.
4) Who do you ship Ignis with the most, if at all?
Prompto of course!! The Promnis pairing has had me in a chokehold since the game first came out and it's still going strong. It's the main pairing that I write (ha… writing.. what's that…?? 💦💦) and just the mere mention of it evokes strong emotions in me to this day. I won't write an essay here, but I do think they are perfect for each other in every way.
5) What's your favorite color?
Purple! My phone is purple, my bedspread is purple, my childhood room was purple, my hair has been dyed purple multiple times…. if I could have everything be purple, it would be. It's such a happy colour.
6) Has anything come out recently you really enjoyed?
Video game-wise, there have been SO many. My favourite game of all time is Super Mario RPG for the SNES, and when the remake for the Switch was announced I actually cried watching the trailer. Playing it was absolute perfection and I couldn't have asked for anything more! More recently though, I played through Sea of Stars (AMAZING GAME I loved the heck out of it) and just finished Little Kitty Big City, which was a super cute delight!

What’s your sweetest RP experience so far?
Munday Asks
Tumblr media
Hm. Anytime I've started a RP with someone and made a friend. I guess the sweetest is from my Ardyn blog where I answered an ask from a Noctis blog. That single ask spawned at least 20 different long, lasting AUs between the two characters and a rl friendship that is still going on 6 years later despite the both of us no longer being in the FF*XV fandom. It spawned a server of like minded friends that I am still part of where we mostly shit talk nowadays.

Tag 27. T(ea)-Time (Ravus x Luna) FF XV
"Ach komm schon Ravus!
