Thinking about so many people this holiday season. People in ED recovery. People who haven’t started their ED recovery yet. People with sensory issues around food. People with unwanted dietary restrictions and intolerances and allergies. “Picky eaters.” You are valid, you are loved, you are capable, you are strong. I hope you are able to find joy and delight this year in your meals. Wishing you all the best. ❤️

I hope this fricking works. I made the image too fricking big. This is what extra 0 gets you...
Anyways, here is the promised wedding! We got the normal version and the colored one.
We got Zestial and Carmilla in astounding outfits, wearing each others colors. Kinda Morticia and Gomez, aka Addams wedding vibes. Took them 200 years...... But they got married!
We got her daughters, Clara has the petals, Odette the rice. Its a costum to throw rice in some cultures. Ans Rosie as well...
And finally... The priest, CURSED CAT ALASTOR. Muahahahaahaha
I hope you enjoy this litttle fanart, as I did when I was making it.

Thank you for every person who wished me a Happy Christmas. I maybe did not reply but I really needed it.
I think I'll have some hot cocoa as well.
Happy Holidays!

Kaixo ~ I’m curious what are holidays or dates that see important to Basque people?
Kaixo anon! Thanks for your ask 😊 I guess there are more local festivities or special days for other people, but I guess these are the most general ones:
St Thomas' fair: a very important date for Basque people since today is the day when winter officially starts - some people think this fair was originally dedicated to the solstice - and also the Christmas holidays: children have their last day of school until January and it’s a day of general celebration. A very big market is set so people can buy their ingredients for the Xmas Eve dinner, and the most traditional thing to do is to eat talo- a toasted cornmeal flatbread - with chorizo or txistorra, a Basque speciality similar to the former, but thinner and juicier. Of course you have to help that food go down with cider or txakoli, our traditional white wine. It's always CROWDED:

Xmas celebrations: more or less like in any West European city tbh, but here we have two parades for the kids. The one of Olentzero (our very own xmas gifts bringer) on Xmas Eve:
Tumblr media
and then on January 5th, the parade of the Three Wise men, that's also celebrated by more Iberian nations:
Tumblr media
And last but certainly not least, the summer festivities in the capitals: starting with Sanfermines in early July
Tumblr media
.. then the festivities in Baiona in mid-July...
Tumblr media
... moving on to Maria Zuria celebrations in Gasteiz in early August...
Tumblr media
Aste Nagusi in Donostia mid-August...
Tumblr media
... and Aste Nagusi in Bilbo to finish the month...
Tumblr media
For me they're the Holy Trinity of the special days for most Basque people. Of course there are more local special days and more events that gather many like regattas, 1st Monday of Gernika, Ordizia Cheese Championship, Korrika, several races, Chocolate day in Baiona, Lanterns Parade in Gasteiz, etc.
But these ones mentioned are the biggest ones.

Fideus de vermar. Photos from Gastronòmicament and D.O. Binissalem.
Fideus de vermar ("grape harvest noodles") is a traditional dish from Mallorca (Balearic Islands) eaten around the month of September.
This dish is a spicy noodle soup in sheep broth with sheep meat, onion, garlic, tomato, thyme, marjoram, clove, a little bit of cinnamon, olive oil, salt, false pepper or allspice, a drizzle of wine, and Capsicum frutescens chilli pepper, and can also have pork sausage (botifarró and llonganissa).
It's very typical from the town of Binissalem. Every year on the last Sunday of September, Binissalem celebrates a communal meal with thousands of people to eat this dish. Last year, the meal gathered 22,000 people.

Chinese Lantern Festival
I thought of participating (at least in some way) in a well known Chinese tradition - celebration of the beginning of a New Year with lanterns of different shapes and forms (hanging, flying and floating ones, you name it). And since it is a Year of a Dragon and I'm in a JCA fanart era,.. you knew I had to draw my beloved Shendu)).
It is said that some lanterns bear symbols of good fortune on them while others may have riddles being hidden in their design.
"As a tradition of Chinese Lantern Festival, guessing lantern riddles is as important as eating dumplings on the day. The custom is a unique form of Chinese folk culture, showcasing people's good wishes for the new year and inspiring wisdom."
So, I had an idea to use a Sign of Fire from the second season of a show instead of traditional symbols, since Pan'ku Box was a puzzle to be solved and fire is an essential part of any existing lantern (and it is Shendu's elemental power, after all) )).
Hope you'll enjoy this picture, I had lots of fun working on it.
This is a mixed media art, you will find the part I drew in a traditional way under the cut. You can actually see how huge my eraser looks next to it, haha, but damn, do I love drawing miniatures.
