Thinking about so many people this holiday season. People in ED recovery. People who haven’t started their ED recovery yet. People with sensory issues around food. People with unwanted dietary restrictions and intolerances and allergies. “Picky eaters.” You are valid, you are loved, you are capable, you are strong. I hope you are able to find joy and delight this year in your meals. Wishing you all the best. ❤️

All the devils' dances and dragons dance together at the end of the correfoc held in Sant Pere de Ribes (Penedès, Catalonia) before its festa major (Catalan holiday that each town/city celebrates on the day of its patron saint).
A correfoc (meaning "fire run" in the Catalan language) is an event held as part of a town, city or neighbourhood's festa major festivity, usually celebrated a few days before the feast day itself. On the day of the festivity and its eve, the traditional dances from the town will dance on the streets, including the fire dances like the Devils' Dance and the fire bestiary. But for the correfoc, the devils' dances, the dragons and other fire bestiary from the near towns are invited as well, each one accompanied by their drummers. All these fire beasts and devils dance on the streets of the host town. In some towns it's treated as a game where the people have to run faster than the fire dancers or dodge the fire. In some places like Ribes (this video) they all light up for one last song together in the same square.
Video by Drac de Sitges. The song is "Nanu" by the local band Bugies.

I hope this fricking works. I made the image too fricking big. This is what extra 0 gets you...
Anyways, here is the promised wedding! We got the normal version and the colored one.
We got Zestial and Carmilla in astounding outfits, wearing each others colors. Kinda Morticia and Gomez, aka Addams wedding vibes. Took them 200 years...... But they got married!
We got her daughters, Clara has the petals, Odette the rice. Its a costum to throw rice in some cultures. Ans Rosie as well...
And finally... The priest, CURSED CAT ALASTOR. Muahahahaahaha
I hope you enjoy this litttle fanart, as I did when I was making it.

My favorite things
Slime molds and glowworms, tongue-eating crustaceans, gall tumors, sea angels, and strap-toothed cetaceans, parasite yew trees and old termite kings, these are a few of my favorite things.
Cyclopes created by skewed gene expression [1], scavengers sharing their feast in succession, moths that paint dropping and flies on their wings, these are a few of my favorite things.
Paradox tadpoles and immortal jellies, pandoravirus, and whatever the hell is the Ediacaran fauna and its lobes, frills, and rings: these are a few of my favorite things.
When I mourn in time the poor thylacine Or the golden toad I remember there's mold that grows its own eyes And that those eyes explode
Fifty thousand spiders, and one's vegetarian; there's bees that make honey with flesh from a carrion; [2] some fish walk on grass, the sand shark eats its twins; these are a few of my favorite things.
Fairyfly wasps are outsized by bacteria; male anglerfish melt into female posteriors; plant-toilets and frogs that keep eggs in their skins; [3] these are a few of my favorite things.
The Cambrian Explosion, the Permian Extinction, all species radiating in finer distinction, a fondness for beetles (though one burns and one stings), these are a few of my favorite things.
When a pigeon's death our biosphere bereaves Or a huge sea cow's Know there's a vine that can copy others' leaves And no one knows how...
Happy Darwin Day 2024!
[1] Be careful about clicking on this link and going further; some of the pictures are nasty. [2] Well, kinda. The sugars in the actual honey are still of plant origin, although not nectar, though it is then mixed with a jelly produced from rotting meat. [3] I'm told some people find this disturbing as well.

Fideus de vermar. Photos from Gastronòmicament and D.O. Binissalem.
Fideus de vermar ("grape harvest noodles") is a traditional dish from Mallorca (Balearic Islands) eaten around the month of September.
This dish is a spicy noodle soup in sheep broth with sheep meat, onion, garlic, tomato, thyme, marjoram, clove, a little bit of cinnamon, olive oil, salt, false pepper or allspice, a drizzle of wine, and Capsicum frutescens chilli pepper, and can also have pork sausage (botifarró and llonganissa).
It's very typical from the town of Binissalem. Every year on the last Sunday of September, Binissalem celebrates a communal meal with thousands of people to eat this dish. Last year, the meal gathered 22,000 people.
