If you are straight, how do you cope with a desire for relationships?

My seperatist beliefs aside, the idea that humans will all find romantic love as long as we are open to it is delusional fairytale thinking. Even if all men and all women were good people, time, location, language, physical attraction and compatibility would still be barriers to finding love.

Think about it, the number of people we meet physically and virtually is limited

Of those people we meet, how many of them will we have meaningful interactions with?

Of those we have meaningful interactions with, how many will we like?

Of those we like, how many will like us back?

Of those that like us back, how many will we love?

Of those we love, how many will love us back?

Of those that love us, how many of them are we compatible with enough to develop a relationship with?

The above scenario would still apply in the heterosexual utopia that reformist hope to achieve.

Now in our current reality, we know most men are trash: if they are not rapist, porn watching scum, they make excuses for their rapist, porn watching scum brethen. As a heterosexual woman with basic self respect that people call "high standards", the number of potentially romantic partners is very low already, then add the natural elimination that happens even in the ideal situation then do the calculation.

As a straight seperatist, I "deal" with my desire for love and companionship by simply understanding that humans cannot control whether they find love. Before I accepted that men are a global menace and men are trash not just the ones I had the misfortune of interacting with, I had accepted that finding true love is about luck, pure dumb luck. The only thing you can do is to be a good person, live your life and have a robust social life to meet people who might like and hopefully they like you back and you both are compatible enough to form a loving relationship.

Romance should not be a life goal for anybody because you have no control over your ability to find love.

Listen as adults, we all need to understand and accept, there is a price to pay for the life we want. Living a life of freedom and self respect has a cost and living a life with "romance" has a cost. Whatever decision you make, you have to be willing to pay the price.

If men want a community where its just men and they hate on women im entirely fine with that because thats essentially what most of us do/want, but the majority of mysoginists hate/kill/rape/assault/degrade women while being surrounded by them. While seeking a wife, having a daughter, a mother. While going out and making women feel unsafe, killing them, raping them. They hate women yet they want to be around women.

This is the same argument I use when people try to compare female seperatism and misandry with "what men are doing right now". Name one woman who has killed a man for no other reason but being a man. No female seperatist that hates on men while seeking one out.

My issue is that men hate us. They kill us and they rape us and they put us down and oppress us and they still want us around. I would love male seperatism, if they wanted to stay on their own and marry eachother and co exist and hate on women from afar, i would love that.

They dont. They want us to know and they want us to hurt.

Some Tumblr ideaology that centers trans women (fine) under the belief that transmisogyny is underdiscussed (true) because 1)other trans people, namely trans men, are taking up too much space (incorrect). Trans men are their oppressors, and they get away with it and 2) the only people that trans women can be safe around is other trans women (red flag).

It's basically a cult mentality built on an understandable struggle but enacted in really stupid ways, just more stupid battle of the sexes shit but for trans people this time. I agree that a lot of trans men gleefully take part in transmisogyny and often get away with it, but I'm pretty sure that's been true of men and women for ages, and I don't see political lesbians or female seperatists getting any further or more convincing in their goals, so this shit is no different to me.

My advice to separatists

The woman in the above video used to be in an abusive marriage and escaped. In this video, she explains that abuse victims only leave when they themselves are ready. So straight from the horse's mouth, most efforts to get abused women get out those situations are futile.

The dynamics between men and women as a class mirror the dynamics of an abusive relationship. Just like how abuse victims leave only when they are ready to leave, women will only leave men as a class alone only when they are ready.

This is why on this blog, for as long as I can remember, I have always discouraged seperatists from trying to convince women to give up men because just like most abuse victims, they completely ignore you or they make you the villian: evil lesbian (eventhough straight seperatists exist) that is trying to steal them away from their prince charming for your own sexual benefit.

Leave these women alone, offline and online. They are not ready and to be honest, most of them will never be. Stop going on their posts to debate them, matter of fact I suggest you block the ones who are lying about the epidemic of seperatists bullying OSA women (again denying the existence of straight seperatists to create a narrative). I understand the human instinct to clear your reputation but this is Tumblr. It is important to remember that the "loss of good reputation" on here absolutely has no impact on the quality of our lives. Yes, in the short term, you will be upset but you will quickly get over it because it has no impact on your long term life.

Just like offline you can tell when an abuse victim is ready to actually leave and just needs guidance and some resources, you can also do that online. While it is definitely harder to read people's behaviours online, it is not possible. For those of you who still take Tumblr activism seriously, you can guide genuinely interested women to valuable resources.

FYI, We need to STOP assuming that just because a person is in radfem spaces, that they are smart or have critical thinking skills. Most people come to radfem spaces because of the anti-transactivism and sometimes anti-porn positions. Contrary to what transactivism would have you believe, one doesn't need to have a pHD in human biology to differentiate between human males and females. That is actually common sense that has existed for a centuries or even millenia. Just because someone knows men cannot become women doesn't make an intellectual. That is like saying a person brushing their teeth makes them an intellectual because some people don't brush their teeth. Furthermore, phD holders can know a lot in their subject area and be clueless in others [A person can be absolutely smart in one area and completely dumb in another].

Many of people on here are actually not smart and you can tell by the dumb shit they confidently say. You shouldn't waste your time arguing with dumb people, offline or online.

I've been a bit confused on the exact definition of female separatism here lately, because I've seen people use it a few different ways, and I think there's an important distinction that needs to be made:

Is a female seperatist someone who believes women should have the right to choose to live completely separate from men?

Is a female seperatist someone who believes ALL women should choose to live separately from men?

Or is a female seperatist someone who does live completely separate (to the best of her ability) from men?

I personally wouldn't choose to completely isolate myself from men, but I think that any woman who wants to should be able to do so, and that it would greatly benefit a large amount of women. So, despite my support for it, I'm guessing this means I'm not a female seperatist, because it's not my personal choice.
