Papa Bhaal's House of Horrors teaser
This is a slasher/rural horror AU for BG 3, which follows a group of killers in the style of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, House of 1,000 Corpses(and its sequels) as well as just a general gritty horror vibe. It takes place in the Faerun equivalent of the late 70's, early 80's, ages are all done in human terms for our purposes, just consider them equivalent, and our cast is as follows:
The Killers: Bhaalists: Sentry Ojeda- 19 years old, a Tiefling, The second youngest of the Bhaal cult, an artist as well as a bit of a honey trap. Currently infatuated with the family's business associate Enver Gortash. Orin The Red- 13 years old, a Changeling, the youngest of the Bhaal cult, looks up to her big brother Sentry and loves working on art projects with him. Great at pretending to be a distressed child in danger. Tomi Kisaragi- 26 years old, a fey creature in the form of an elf, likes to play home maker and lull visitors into a false sense of security. Has a very unique gardening project. Jackal Silk- 25 years old, Drow, an accomplished tracker, hunter, woodsman, and mechanic. Pretends to be a savior on the road or in the wilderness for passing travelers all while isolating them further. Also an asshole. Gary Stormscale- 30 years old, a dragonborn, the eldest Bhaalist 'sibling' so to speak and usually the one in charge when Sarevok isn't around. Mainly cares for Sentry and Orin, generally considering the others old enough to take care of themselves. Appears to be the most calm and rational, but horrifying when in one of his dark moods. Gabrael Grimmaldi- 29 years old, a Tiefling, the care taker and motherly older sibling out of the group. She is protective of Sentry and Orin to a point of mania, also the most physically powerful sibling. Mostly keeps to herself. Sarevok Anchev- 50 years old, a human, presents himself as the patriarch of the family, taking on the mantle of 'Papa Bhaal' while the true father sleeps beneath the house until such a time there have been enough sacrifices to wake him. Ominous and imposing, he is still capable of pretending to be a gracious host to lure in travelers. Sceleritas Fel- ???, a fiend sent to serve the family by Papa Bhaal himself. Currently Sentry's attendant as Sentry is sort of the family's face while out and about, Fel tends to dote on his main charge and is excellent at hiding and destroying evidence. The Banites: Enver Gortash, Attorney At Law- 35 years old, a human, A sleazy lawyer and business man from the big city who has set up in Moonrise County and brokered a deal between the Bhaalists and the Myrkulites. While they're focused on their rituals and traditions, Gortash's aim in all of this is real estate and getting rid of political rivals using the two cults. That being said, he does have a soft spot for Sentry. Seraph 'Serf' Holms- 30 years old, a half-orc, Enver's enforcer and body guard. Not particularly bright or ambitious, but believes in whatever it is Enver told him they're doing. Valda Everett- 27 years old, a tiefling, Enver's personal assistant. She is professional, prim, and deadly. Valda comes from a well respected family back in the city and is a highly dedicated Banite and model employee. The Myrkulites: Judge Ketheric Thorm- 65 years old, a half elf, The local judge of Moonrise County and hiding some deadly secrets in the local graveyard. A grim and dour man who gives off a very unsettling vibe when travelers encounter him. Sheriff Z'rell- 35 years old, a half orc, the law around Moonrise County. A very popular woman at the local dive bar, but despite her attractive appearance and forward flirtations, there is a sense of danger that comes from any encounter with her, be it business or pleasure. Coroner Balthazar- ???, Undead, the mysterious County Coroner, always masked up and dressed fully in heavy lab gear. He is seldom seen anywhere but the local morgue or the graveyard.
The Survivors: The Locals: Alfira- 25 years old, a tiefling, the local radio DJ who doesn't believe all the murder cult stories that are going around until she finds herself caught up in their games. Lakrissa- 25 years old, a tiefling, Alfira's partner, loves the idea of a murder cult and gets excited at the idea of discovering what's really going on in Moonrise County. Highway Patroller Zevlor- 50 years old, a tiefling, a former investigator and government agent who left his position in disgrace after failing to expose a corrupt official back in Elturel. Now he is determined to make up for his mistake by exposing whatever is going on in Moonrise County. Rolan- 20 years old, a tiefling, has a shitty job at the local pawn shop/book store with an ass hole boss he can't stand, but he needs the work to support his younger siblings. A friend of Sentry's from their school days. Karlach Cliffgate- 25 years old, a tiefling, used to work for Gortash before he set her up to take a fall for him, currently hiding out in the closed down diner, planning revenge. The Travelers: Wyll Ravengard- 24 years old, a human, returning home to settle his late father's estate and fix up the old house so he and his fiancee can settle in Baldur's Gate permanently. Jaina Thalassia- 20 years old, a tiefling, Wyll's fiancee, traveling with him to their new home and starting a new job as a teacher in the city. The story snippet so far, just a sample mind you:
“Fuck fuck fuck...Why did you piss him off, Aryn?” The young elven woman sobbed, sliding down to a sitting position, legs not able to carry her any further as she hugged her knees to her chest. “You should've left him alone, why'd you piss him off?” “Hey it's not my fault, Brynna! How was I supposed to know he was crazy?” The human shot back, pressing his back to the door of the shed as it strained against the vicious knocks against it from the outside. “Guys...please stop fighting, the Fist will be here soon, I'm sure...it's gonna be okay we just have to stay calm and....” The dwarf was cut off as she and the human were thrown across the shed as the door splintered, sending them sprawling. Four pairs of glowing eyes lit up the darkness and the blade of an axe gleamed in the pale moonlight. Screams pierced the night. ----
“Good afternoon, Moonrise County. It's Alfira coming to you from Last Light FM, your local source for weather, traffic, news, and some good mood tunes. It's getting chilly as harvest season begins, so druids get those crops harvested quickly now. We are also likely to see rain for the holiday weekend, tough break for those last minute tourists looking for a woodland get away. Traffic heading towards Baldur's Gate is at a stand still thanks to a stopped vehicle across the roadway. Now here's our chart topping local favorite three years running, The Sirens' cover of local folk song 'Down By The River'” Alfira removed her headset and nodded her head gratefully as her partner handed her a cup of coffee and the morning paper. “Thanks Lakrissa...” She took a sip and then eyed the headline. “More tourists disappeared, huh?” “Yeah, fifth group this year....I think the cult is getting restless.” Lakrissa grinned, her tone sing-song and teasing. “There's no cult, Lakrissa. Honestly it's probably just overconfident city people getting lost in the woods without enough supplies. It's sad, but not some crazy murder conspiracy.” Alfira frowned, shaking her head. “And I'm not going to entertain the idea it is and get everyone in a tizzy.” “But it's fall, Alfira. Spooky season! Don't you wanna do a little themed broadcast and get those numbers up?” Lakrissa's grin widened, eager and excited. “Gods know the station could use it.” Alfira stifled a laugh and looked deadpan at her lover. “Lakrissa, it's Moonrise County, population like...MAYBE two hundred at best...Those numbers aren't going anywhere.” ---
“Move it a little to the left, Orin.” Sentry frowned, making a frame with his hands and scanning the hanging corpse dangling from a meat hook in the shed. His little sister repositioned the head just a little closer to the shoulder, slightly off from where it would naturally have been, and looked quizzically at her brother. “Yeah! Perfect! Just like that!” He reached into the pocket of his denim cut offs and produced a heavy needle and some waxed thread. “Now just hold it steady.” “There's room for a second head at this angle, slaughter-kin.” Orin pointed out with a grin as blood dripped down the front of her hand sewn red dress. “Shit, you're right. What are we thinkin', pig? Sheep?” Sentry pondered as he moved the needle expertly through the skin, sewing the head into place.

AU where Alleria Windrunner, known to be open to using self-destructive forces to fight evil, becomes the first Fel "Blood" Elf.
How would this happen? Well ya see, in my favorite scene in Beyond the Dark Portal, Alleria hunts and kills an orc or five, and she kills at least one in splatter distance. She ends up with orc blood on her hands, and she almost licks it off her hands, but stops herself before she does.
Now, obviously, blood from a green orc is not going to be as corruptive as the blood of Mannoroth. But Fel magic is incredibly addictive. Like, in drug terms, it's like crystal meth. So she just has cravings off on and on, getting a buzz after every fight, with this growing shame surrounding her. Then she captures an orc and tortures them for information, and once she's done with him, she hangs him upside down and slits his throat. That much blood calls to the Fel energy inside her already, and she can't stop herself.
The rush is incredible, and the power moreso. And she wants more. Then the dreams start. Her brother comes to her in her dreams, begging her to avenge him. Sending her visions of some warlock on Draenor as if he were somehow responsible for her brother's death.
So she finds the warlock and drains him the same way. The visions don't stop, though. Instead, "Lirath" sends her new powers.
From there, it's all downhill. She would likely either have to be killed by Turalyon, or she would join the Legion at the end of BtDP.

I'll be honest, I never thought about that as my ideas for a Warcraft crossover were either an AU with some of the Storm Hawks characters as like the other races, Pandaria as a collection of terras on Atmos where they have to deal with the Sha and Mogu, or the Demons try to invade Atmos and the Storm Hawks team with the heroes of Azeroth and experience the story of Legion. Still, it sounds interesting, especially if you consider the vast scope of the lore.
Cutting below for mild rambling on the whole thing.
In case anyone doesn't know, the story of Warcraft is one that spans from the entire universe, but it's mostly focus on the conflict between the Horde and Alliance. Now I see Storm Hawks allying themselves with the Alliance, especially since it was the first Horde that invaded Azeroth. Also, the Alliance does have humans with them (something that Stork would beat that fact over). But I think after a while, whether they are captured or talking with someone who gives them better explanation, they'll soon realize that the current Horde is not the same as the one that invaded. Yea, they may have been aggressors in recent years (mostly from bad writing). But they just want to simply live in peace their own way.
Then you have the other forces in play. You see, the first Horde was manipulated by a group of demons known as the Legion. They've been trying to invade Azeroth for a really long time and they'd use the Orcs by influencing their powers to control them through the Fel. Then, with the help of a possessed human sorcerer, they constructed a portal to Azeroth where Warcraft begins. And it's not just the Demons. There were beings of the Void implanted in the energies of the world that also wanted it for their own. So, they used their own agent, a powerful dragon known as Deathwing, to sow chaos and discord. These and many other forces are seemingly still at play, and they would rather not have both the Alliance and Horde uniting.
But even then, it's still people making their own choices. One of the things I hoped to convey in my fic, The Frozen Mirror, was that despite being manipulated by Demons, Arthas still made those decisions that led him down the path to becoming the Lich King. Yet there are still like a lot of villains and anti-heroes I could've shown to Aerrow. (I wonder how he would've reacted to Illidan.) In any case, I felt just sticking with Arthas was the best choice as they kinda have similar vibes.
In any case, the universe of Warcraft is vast and has a lot of stuff going on in it. At its core, it's the uneasy tensions between two factions but they're willing to work together for the greater good. It definitely has elements I use in my Storm Hawks stuff, both in world-building and meta. That being said, I wouldn't mind reading a fic where the Storm Hawks do get sucked into Azeroth during Horde and Alliance tensions. (Bonus points if you have them fight the Scarlet Crusade)
I think I need to write more Storm Hawks/Warcraft stories.

I just binged your entire webcomic this morning. What a super fun read! No spoilers, I was cracking up at the first encounter. Not sure if I'm the only one already shipping Thomas and Fel, but they look really cute together. I'm a sucker for warrior-esk women being paired with magical men (such as like Raylum, lol). I hope you find the time to keep updating it!
Gosh thanks!! I’m so glad you enjoyed it! (I was wondering when someone would stumble across it and go “so this is Rayllum right”)
Actually y’know what HEY GANG IF YOU WANNA READ WHAT IS BASICALLY A RAYLLUM ISEKAI AU WITH ROCK AND ROLL GUESS WHAT It’s an original webcomic written by me >>> The Epic Odyssey of Thomas McLean
It’s got romance! Danger! 80s punks that are also orcs! A diverse cast! Hot elves!
Check it out!

Voltron fanfiction ötletbörze
Leginkább Keith-központúak. A “leginkább” itt olyan 90%-ot jelent.
Romelle&Keith bromance. Túl sok. Valószínűleg sosem írom meg.
Time travel: Mert mindenképp kell ilyen is.
Szóval a korcsere némiképp pontatlan. További tervezendő részek: Pidge és Keith epikus űrkalandjai, miután fél órával a Kerberos-misszió közepéről való elrablásukat követően megszöktek. Köszönet Keith galra-génjeinek. És akkor itt pár fejezetnyi világépítés, krípi emberi faj, Marmora Pengéje végtelenül korábban megjelenve, és egy lázadás kezdete sokkal korábban, minthogy a Voltron ténylegesen felbukkanhatna. Sok olkarival, mert őket szeretem. További apró részlet ehhez: dimenzióutazás, babalotor örökbe fogadása, Klance eljegyzés, humans are space orcs részek.
Barnaby Meets Tiaal (Part 1)
Tumblr media
A roleplay story with Tiaal’s player. Vindicator Barnaby encounters a mysterious Rangari woman while on AU Draenor. (Advisory for nsfw themes.)
“Act like you know me.”
These were the first words that the Rangari said to the large male whose arm she’d ducked under. She wraps an arm around his waist, bringing their bodies flush together from hips to her shoulder. He’s not the biggest person in the bar, but he’s the largest that Tiaal judged to be safe for this kind of interaction. Her pursuers were only moments behind her and she had ducked into the busy pub to try and lose them in the crowd, and being cozied up to this mountain of a man will help her do that. She shimmies out of her over cloak, revealing a lithe body covered in small scale mail, and pulls down her hair, looking like she’s been at his side the whole evening rather than a few seconds.
“I’ll be out of your hair in just a minute,” she says, finally looking up at the man she’d chosen to cozy up to. She offers him a smile, he’s not unattractive, and he’s got an honest look about him. She wouldn’t mind spending the evening in his company, especially since it had been a long few months on her own during her current assignment.  “If you want, that is.” Still, she knows she’s not unattractive herself, and she likes how her dark skin is set off against the brilliant white of his. Her hand explores his hip a little as she waits for his reply, feeling nothing but hard muscle underneath. It makes her smile a little bit more broad, and she knows he has an excellent view down her front with their difference in height.
Barnaby had been sipping ale on his lonesome at the local pub. Breaks like these are a welcome occurrence. Being a vindicator, he is often on the road, and his job is at times strenuous and dangerous. At other times, such as when he has guard duty, it is slow-moving, even frightfully boring.
Here in the pub, he can spend his hard-earned coin and rest, and not worry about fel monsters, orcs, and other troubles for a time. This version of Draenor, although in far better shape than his homeland, is still plagued by troubles. Rumor has it that the fighting is at a turning point, with the Alliance soldiering into Tanaan. Barnaby wonders if he should remain on this world for a time, or return to Azeroth when the campaigns are mostly concluded.
He is lost in such thoughts when a woman appears at his side seemingly out of nowhere. Barny's brows raise in surprise, and he offers no resistance as she tucks in at his side as if they were familiar.
Barnaby thinks she's strikingly beautiful upon first impression, but it's her words he takes special notice of. Is she being pursued by someone in this tavern? Or pursuing someone suspicious? She's dressed like a Rangari, and he knows them to be canny folk.
Barnaby puts a large arm around the Rangari's shoulders to complete the appearance of them being familiar. "What's the trouble?" he asks in a low voice.
Tiaal grins when Barnaby goes along with her, putting his hand over her shoulders. “The pair that just entered the bar… They mean to kill me for some papers I do not possess. I just need to throw them off the trail for now, slip away in the crowd. What’s your name?” she scans the crowd as she speaks, and watches the pair she indicated out of the corner of her eye, but they’re looking for a lone Rangari with a cloak trying to escape and not a barfly pressed up against one of the bigger patrons, and so their eyes slide past her and eventually they move on, thinking they had been mistaken that she had ducked into this busy pub.
Barnaby tries to get a glimpse of the pair the violet-skinned woman indicated. He turns his eyes back inwards towards the bar just as quickly.
"I'm Barnaby, Miss." He isn't certain how he feels about being chosen for the purpose of throwing some goons off of this woman's trail. On the other hand, so far, Tiaal's company is certainly not unpleasant. He murmurs back, his voice slightly teasing, "How'd you get into a scrape like that?"
“Tiaal.” She replies with a smile, reaching up to hold onto his hand that’s on her shoulder. “Rangari get into all sorts of scrapes… Needless to say, it’ll be sorted out when I get back to my superiors. Do you come here often, Barnaby?”
"Do they, now?" Barnaby's lips twist into a wry expression. "I've heard they're a troublesome lot." He says this with no actual malice, and he tries to keep an eye on the goings-on in the tavern, keeping the seriousness of Tiaal's situation in mind.
In response to Tiaal's question, Barnaby nods. "I'm stationed in the area, and this is where I come to unwind." He realizes that in his civilian dress, there's no outward indication that he is a vindicator unless he introduces himself as such. "Uh, Vindicator serving under Exarch Orelis." He bows his head slightly. Normally, he would offer a more ceremonial greeting, but he is unable to while keeping his arm around Tiaal's shoulders. "I suppose this isn't your usual stomping grounds if you came in here to lose a couple guys..."

TFP WOW AU; Bumblebee is a warrior instead of a hunter since Arcee is already a hunter in TFP, Soundwave is a hunter instead of a rogue (so Laserbeak can be his pet), Airachnid is an Undead Rogue, Shockwave is a Tauren Warlock and Predaking is a skeleton dragon, Jack is a worgen hunter with his pet wolf named June that he's had when he was human, Miko is a dwarf warrior and Raf is a gnome mage! =)
Yes, Bumblebee is a human warrior and Arcee is a night elf hunter.
Soundwave is a Zandalari troll(bringing in the allied races, but soundwave was with the decepticon guild before Zanadalar joined the horde) hunter with laserbeak as his pet eagle, he messes with a lot of voodoo and never takes off his mask or talks, he's also stupid tall.
Airachnid is an undead rogue that uses poisons and attacks like Lillian Voss in the way she like to jump around and cling to her enemies backs or faces, she also has... a terrible obsession of taking a bite from all the flesh she can find... she keeps track and takea notes of the taste... Tailgate(not the pet) is on that list... and Jack's name is there waiting to be filled out.
Shockwave cannot be a tauren because tauren's cannot be Warlocks, Shockwave is a goblin warlock, he... experiments on any demon that he summons and disappoints him... which is a lot... he's also been messing with Fel magic too much.... scary too much... he's greedy alright, greedy for knowledge...
Jack is a worgen, but he's class-less, he was only a kid when he was cursed and came from a family of healers(june is a human priest) but planned on being a merchant. He depends on his worgen instincts and claws to fight, which isn't often. He's still very young so the autobots keep him away from the fights. A lot of time he and Arcee have a hunter pet dynamic, but they don't like to call it that. They moved to westfall after they escaped gilneas, Jack tends to stay in his human form most of the time, but it gets uncomfortable for him.
Miko is a young Dark Iron Dwarf who's transferred into the westfall village(where this au tfp takes place) to strengthen ties between the alliance and the dark irons. She's a warrior in training... meaning she gets a wooden axe.
Raf is a gnome mage who cares more about technology than his magic. He is really smart and his parents are trying to save money to send him to ironforge to meet with the tinkers to invent more.
Tfp Megatron though is an orc death knight though. Knockout is a blood elf priest and Breakdown is a tauren warrior.

Khadgrin Warcraft AU Part 2
Tumblr media
(Continuation from this piece here. Seeing as making this into parts saves me time and energy for other fics and art and such, I’m going to make this into a few parts. I want to thank @drew-winchester again because she deserves all the love and praise! I hope you enjoy this one as much as the last one!))
The first orc wave:
Khadgar and Peregrïn are stuck in the barracks. The two were put there when they were caught trying to inspect the dead soldier’s body. Even though they tried their best at sneaking and stealth (not Khadgar’s strongest attribute), they were still caught by the Stormwind guards.
When Lorthar enters and Pins Khadgar to the table, Perry had her magic ready to blast him in the face! Khadgar however stopped her, because being stuck in the barracks is much more enjoyable than being stuck in the dungeon.
Lorthar took a moment to ask Peregrïn why she was with the spellcaster. She huffed, looking Lorthar dead in the eye, “I chose Khadgar here to help me learn more about the Eastern Kingdoms, and he has done an excellent job. So, if you wouldn’t mind, please get off my guide.” So Lorthar did.
When the two were allowed to inspect the body, fel was discovered! In night elven society then, Fel was basically a story for children. Something that was just meant to warn those of the dangers of too much ambition, not something to actually be real!
Khadgar insisted on going to the guardian about this, but Lorthar explained that only the king could give authority to see the Guardian Medivh. Perry had only heard stories of Medivh from Khadgar, so she was excited to meet both the king and this guardian! She imagined him to be something similar to Malfurion or Tyrande!
Our trio made haste to Goldshire, to where the king of Stormwind stood. Perry could tell he was a man to be respected, not just because he wore a gold ornament on his head(which she always thought was kind of weird). Perry was sort of the center of attention, as it’s not everyday you see an elf, a short night elf at that either. Poor Perry was stage frightened. Khadgar interrupted this, and made claim to see Medivh.
After Khadgar made his case and another attack came from these “monsters”, the king had granted Lorthar, Khadgar, and Peregrïn to make haste to Karazahn.
Peregrïn was intimidated by the large griffon standing right outside. Sure, she’s ridden on hippogriffs and can get along with most animals, but a griffon was a whole other thing! She was the last to get on, and held Khadgar tightly when they were lifted off. Poor Perry was scared half to death when on the griffon ride!
When they arrived to Karazahn, the two separated. Khadgar was hard set on reading EVERY BOOK THERE, and Perry was eager to meet the Guardian. Perry came to regret this, when she had to walk up all of the stairs. She even turned into cat form to make it easier, but by the time they made it all the way up there she was ready to pass out!
When they made it to the top, and after gulping half of her waterskin down, she finally met the legendary Medivh! She was a little underwhelmed, as she expected him to be something similar to Malfurion but with Arcane than druid. Her attention was focused some on the pool of magic that radiated in the center of the room. It bore striking resemblance to the Well of Eternity!
Suddenly she appeared back downstairs, looking confused. She snapped out of the confusion when Medivh suddenly pinned Khadgar to the wall! (I get the feeling this AU likes to see Khadgar pinned. I’m sure Perry doesn’t mind! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) That was terrible, I’m sorry.)
When Khadgar was dropped from being magichandled to the wall, Peregrïn helped Khadgar up. After healing some of his bruises and impressing Medivh with this new form of magic, the guardian took this party to Stormwind to make further preparations.
When Lorthar, Liane and Medivh put their heads together, they figured they needed a monster to question.
They rode around the forest, only stopping at a trade caravan that appeared to be attacked very recently. Perry gets off her horse to inspect the fel closer, terrified that the fel was an actually real thing! Her inspection was interrupted when a giant rock slammed into one of the guardsman, and it seemed the monster’s had laid another ambush just for them!
In this fight, Peregrïn relied on speed and agility, the last thing she wanted to do is try to match their brute force! She used the plants around them to hold down some of the monsters, fired blasts of solar energy, and even went into her cat form to maul at them! Duratan was perplexed by this magic. It wasn’t fel, shamanism, or this blue magic that was being used, it was something else entirely! His attention fell away from the violet cat, and onto his fellow orcs when the fel was being torn away from their very bodies!
When the others gave chase, Perry couldn’t because her horse was tossed across the field into some guards, so she stayed behind with her guide. As Khadgar inspected the orc, she heard something run by, low and behold it was another monster but smaller. Before she could attack, Khadgar used his magic to pin her to the tree, and Perry used the vines to keep her there!
As they head back with two prisoners, Perry hummed a night elven song the way there. Lorthar tried questioning the older looking monster, but to no avail, to which the smaller monster turned out to be able to understand common! Perry and Khadgar jumped up and looked into the wagon in surprise and shock. The older monster didn’t like that she could talk to them and he couldn’t and tried to kill her. Lorthar pierced the beast in the throat, and watched him drop like a sack of potatoes.
They brought the smaller monster to king Liane. She reveals herself as Garona, that she is part of a race known as orcs, and basically tells them everything they wanted to know. The orcs come from another world, they’re led by Gul’dan who opened the initial gate that let so many of them in, they’ve come to take everything, and their people are still alive. At which the king made a deal: Help them, and she can have her freedom.
After all that, Khadgar and Perry were in a room together. Peregrïn had been updating the night elves on event unfurling here, while Khadgar had been studying the book he “borrowed” from Medivh. After sending the last of her letters, she sat down next to Khadgar and did what she could to help him. When Khadgar tried to get up, he realized poor Perry fell asleep on his shoulder trying to help him. He gave a soft smile, and rested his head against hers and then dozed off into sleep.

Lore Fact of the Week #30
Tumblr media
Half-breeds in the Warcraft universe are quite rare, but not unheard of [Twitter: Dave Kosak]. The most common types of half-breeds are half-elves and half-orcs, although any half-breed is possible with magic [Ask CDev, Round Four].
Garona Halforcen and Lantresor of the Blade are half-orc and half-draenei, however it may be worth noting that they both use the orc model in-game [World of Warcraft, Chronicle Volume II, pg. 78, NPC: Lantresor of the Blade Dialogue]. Additionally, Med’an, who may not necessarily be canon anymore since his involvement in specific events was retconned, is half-human, quarter-draenei, and quarter-orc [Page: Med’an]. Despite his half-human lineage, Med’an takes after his mother, Garona, in appearance. Med’an’s green skin, combined with the fact that Garona and Lantresor have orc models, may imply either that orc genetics are strong or that the fel taint that changed their skin color is so pervasive it effects even their offspring [Page: Orc].
Garona was the unique product of an encounter between an orc warrior and a draenei prisoner, although she was not the first half-breed to be born into the Bladewind clan [World of Warcraft Chronicle Volume II, pg. 78]. Most other half-orc, half-draenei were either killed long ago or did not survive past childhood [NPC: Lantresor of the Blade Dialogue, World of Warcraft Chronicle Volume II, pg. 78].
Although her heritage was recently retconned to half-draenei rather than half-human, it was once canon (and still canon in the film universe) that Garona was half-orc and half-human. Medivh attributed her supposed human heritage to a near-human or human-passing race that lived on Draenor [The Last Guardian, Chapter Ten, Chapter Eleven, Page: Garona (Film Universe)]. In the film AU, Medivh is actually Garona’s father, making her half-human [Page: Garona (Film Universe)].
Despite the fact that there are no other half-orc, half-human hybrids in the game, the non-canon RPG actually states that half-humans are more common than half-draenei or half-ogres of orcish descent [RPG: Horde Player’s Guide, pg. 139]. One such example is Drann, who was the result of a union between a male orc and a female human [RPG: Shadows & Light].
The Mok’Nathal clan mostly consists of half-ogre, half-orc hybrids, the most notable of which is Rexxar [Page: Mok’Nathal]. The RPG information on the creation of the mok’nathal was retconned by the second Chronicle volume, which states that the ogres sought to increase their population numbers by conducting experiments to create new creatures for their labor force. The most promising results, the mok’nathal offspring, came from selective forced breeding between ogres and enslaved orcs. These half-breeds were kept in chains and continuously bred together to produce even more servants for the ogre empire [World of Warcraft Chronicle Volume II, pg. 66].
According to the RPG, there are also half-human, half-ogres, most of which are the products of ogre aggression on human villages [RPG: Horde Player’s Guide, pg. 7]. Half-human, half-ogre hybrids typically take on the characteristics of their human parent, although they are not without ogre attributes [RPG: Horde Player’s Guide, pg. 7].
Half-night elves are virtually unheard of because the humans and night elves met for the first time during the Third War a little over ten years ago, however there is record of one half-night elf, half-human in the non-canon RPG [RPG: Shadows & Light].
Tumblr media
Half-elves, the offspring of quel’dorei and human pairings, are by far the most common type of half-breed in the Warcraft universe. Ever since the high elves started interacting with the humans a little under 3,000 years ago, there have been half-elf children [World of Warcraft Chronicle Volume I, pg. 126-131]. Unfortunately, even though they are most certainly longer-lived than their human parent, the exact lifespan of half-elves in unknown [Twitter: Dave Kosak].
Some notable half-elves include Arator, the son of Turalyon and Alleria Windrunner, and Vereesa Windrunner’s children, Galadin and Giramar [Page: Half-elf]. Although in-game lore may suggest otherwise, the RPG posits that half-elven children are treated poorly [RPG: Alliance Player’s Guide, pg. 132].
While it is never directly stated, it’s possible that a portion of the Kul Tiran population is part Drust, since the Drust Thornspeakers joined and mingled with Kul Tiran society [NPC: Ulfar Dialogue].
No half-human half-dwarves currently exist in lore [Ask CDev, Round Four].

Actually I have some ideas (?) I wanna’ discuss-- it’s mostly Amita story stuff, but for Legion and Battle For Azeroth stuff (so I’ll put everything under a cut because... I already accidentally spoiled someone on what happens in the Zuldazar raid and like I feel horrible =_=;;; ).
But yeah it’s just points that I want to see if they make sense, because obviously Amita’s story is going to fork off completely from Legion (the biggest two factors being that Vol’jin AND Varian don’t die, because I have a really good idea for Varian that forces him off the throne and puts Anduin in his place and wow amazing it doesn’t involve his death I never knew that was possible wow).
Okay, onwards! I also apologize in advance it gets rambly and long but I have a lot of ideas and I need to make sense of them all :C
First I’ll briefly mention Warlords. I feel like Blizz wanted to put player characters into the forefront more and that’s why Vol’jin “didn’t do anything”. One major thing that happen in Lascivious Ophidian (from here on referred to as LO) is this:
Jaina and Vol’jin tag-team to kill Garrosh. This is proper poetic justice for both the Bombing of Theramore, the Divine Bell incident, the attempt on Vol’jin’s life, and the attempt to wipe out the Darkspear tribe. Remember when Vol’jin tells Garrosh that he’ll get an arrow through his black heart? Yeah.
Anyway, moving on to Legion:
Sylvanas was more than capable of taking out the fel guard before it hit Vol’jin, and so, she does (keep in mind I personally characterize Sylv as being empathetic and deeply caring - perhaps, somewhat compassionate - but she masks it all under anger and indifference. Broken Shore actually supported this and then... BfA happened smh).
Vol’jin and Varian end up fighting the fel reaver together while everyone else gets their shit together and Sylv / Jaina provide long range support, though the latter is considerably mana depleted. Vol’jin still breaks a tusk and ends up losing both.
In the retreat, both Varian and Vol’jin are injured but Vol’jin still manages to shoulder Varian anyway and carry him to Jaina, then he collapses and Sylvanas picks him up and sounds her horn to call her Val’kyr. Horde and Alliance soldiers alike then find themselves either scrabbling onto the Alliance gunship or scrabbling onto the Horde boat. Sylv and Geblin are helping to pull soldiers onto their respective ships.
Slightly off-topic, but an Alliance Paladin and Horde Death Knight (and probably a few other hero / champion aka player characters) stay behind on the shore to prevent demons from pursuing their leaders. They die, of course.
Vol’jin, being a troll, recovers from his critical injury (not sure what it is yet, but trolls are well known in lore from being able to recover from anything, plus in that short story Judgement Vol’jin regenerates his thumb). Varian, on the other hand, is not so lucky, and ends up paralyzed from the legs down. Geblin of course builds him an incredible wheelchair. He begins to mentor Anduin in kingly duties (see? Can “take him out of a story” and not kill him and still have Anduin become king and not have Anduin SHOVED into being a king. Wow. Amazing. Didn’t realize that was even remotely possible).
What events lead up to Amita actually ending up in the Dreamgrove are up in the air, but she does becomes the Archdruid of the class hall in it’s entirety (I need this to be canon to set up BfA events). Thrall also does not disappear, and instead stays at the Earthern Ring to continue mentoring shaman (and passes on the Doomhammer to another shaman as a result). I’m actually not sure if Aggra will even be IN Amita’s story, as she... is literally unimportant and has virtually no impact on Lore as it currently is, except for Thrall’s personal story (I am also Thraina trash, because have I ever told you that Thrall x Jaina was legitimately my first ship before I even knew what shipping was? Yeah. Exactly).
I have no thoughts yet on whether or not I will have Ysera still die in Amita’s story, but we’ll see. This is mostly because I’m still debating on having Amita be nightmare infected in canon (currently it’s just an AU idea I have), but either way, There Will Be A Dragon Fight.
Okay here’s perhaps the most important point. I’m still considering having Vol’jin pass on the mantle of Warchief, but it won’t be to Sylvanas. It will be to Baine - or rather, Vol’jin makes Baine acting warchief in his absence. I remember reading somewhere that the original plan for Vol’jin disappearing on BS was that he “needed to go talk to someone” and then made someone else warchief in his stead so that he could have the freedom to do that. In this case, I’m going to have Vol’jin make Baine acting warchief, and Vol’jin goes to scout out the Zandalari islands, which is where he ends up learning that Talanji and Zul have gone missing, which will of course lead to the infiltration of Stormwind yaddayaddayadda because yes Teldrassil still burns.
Okay, Battle for Azeroth:
I think everyone collectively agrees that the War of the Thorns stuff was horrible because it’s the same old story that everyone is tired of hearing. Anyway. After the Legion’s defeat, Azerite still poses a problem (resource war. I’m going for a resource war). He agrees that taking Teldrassil would be strategic, so War of the Thorns kind of proceeds as is, but he’s THERE, and lets Sylv go after Malfurion.
Horde gets Teldrassil. Baine tells Tyrande to evacuate her city because the Horde will be occupying it soon. Dead are given proper burial rites because Baine is a tauren and Saurfang is an orc and that’s honourable. When the Horde get to Teldrassil, they find siame-quashi crawling all over the place but they soon disappear into the shadows, but Baine knows his brother well enough to be aware that Vol’jin has been in Teldrassil long before they arrived.
Genn incites the burning of Teldrassil - and no, not because he’s malicious and petty but because it makes sense as a war strategy. Yes he knows people are probably going to die, but he corners a Forsaken soldier and pins it on the Horde (the Undercity will also still be blighted into oblivion, and Idk it makes sense to me for the Alliance to make a move like burning the tree if it means taking away a strong foothold from the Horde - or at least, Genn does, but no one finds out that he was the one who started it until Zuldazar Raid stuff. I’M GETTING THERE I PROMISE). Anyway, speaking of that, Vol’jin watches Genn do all of this and then of course has to book it the fuck out of there because no thank you. And he’s not sure how to process the information so he tells Baine to help evacuate the tree as much as he can before yeah they’re forced to leave (also hey the Alliance has shamans too, and if Genn mother-fucking Greymane tells you to do something I’m p sure my scared ass would listen).
Debating on if Sylv starts shooting civillians who can’t make it to the portals / are stuck due to the fires because “killing them with an arrow through the eye is more humane than letting them burn to death”. Compassion, but twisted in a sense. Horde / Alliance mages though try to teleport as many people as possible and both sides suffer some significant losses.
Instead of Legion BS being the reason Jaina becomes furious with the Horde once again, the burning of the tree is. She gets so angry (understandably, plus I can imagine her and Tyrande being rather close as some of the few female leaders in the Alliance) and it’s like an extra blow because Jaina’s already lost Theramore. So then she leaves on her little soul-searching expedition and Thrall wants to go after her but because none of them know how to bring up the news that Greymane was the one who started the fire they kinda go “well shit” and do nothing (which of course bites them in the ass).
Undercity proceeds practically identically to in-game however the comment Sylv makes to Greymane while sitting on the throne is more in-line to “oh yeah you mean the throne you abandoned when you built ur wall and let the Lordaeron citizens - who are basically the Forsaken, btw - die to the scourge you uh. You mean that throne?” obviously way more eloquently but you get the idea.
Amita is coaxed into being under human guise (and goes by the name Juliet, which is also one of Jaina’s nicknames for her) because Jaina decides that she needs the emotional support from her good friend as she goes to Kul Tiras because this has now become a resource war with both Horde and Alliance furious over losing two major important cities respectively. Horde of course infiltrates Stormwind and gets Zul and Talanji out (I’m actually not sure what happens with Saurfang but I think I can still have the event with him facing the Alliance leaders alone happen but more as a “SYLVANAS YOU NEED TO PREPARE EVEN THOUGH I DONT’ AGREE WITH WHAT YOU’VE PREPARED I’LL HOLD THEM OFF” instead of “RAGRGARGR I’M SO MAD HOW DARE U” so Baine is like “I’mma finish evacuating you get yourself ready for the confrontation”).
Lots of shit happens but I’m gonna’ skip to Rezan stuff. Mostly because Amita kills Yazma so I’m not sure how the corruption thing happens, but I’m still going to have him die (perhaps while trying to face off against Mythrax? Translating some raids / dungeons into story points is pretty tough so I haven’t really gotten to that point yet... I’m totally not avoiding it LOL). Either way, whether or not Rezan lives or dies (because that’s important to the story Blizzard wants to tell, but not important to the story I personally want to tell), something does happen that causes Rastakhan to still rapidly age (could easily be something like Bwonsamdi messing around with the connection between Rezan and Rastakhan, after all, Bwonsamdi reeeeeeeeeally wants Rast’s soul).
Oookay so... Siege of Zuldazar:
Amita is in Boralus when the Alliance is planning this. Yes amazingly still no one in the Alliance is aware of what Genn has done (lets just say that he dealt with anyone who tried to let Anduin and Varian know). She ends up ousting herself and Jaina tries to calm her but she ends up furious enough to say “if you march on Zuldazar, the Dreamgrove stands against you. Remember, I am the Archdruid now”. And then she leaves because you don’ fuck w/ a dragon.
So the Dreamgrove of course ends up sweeping into Zuldazar to stop the Alliance in their tracks, and then the Earthern Ring shows up because Thrall is like “I stand with you, Amita”. Amita’s priority is keeping Rastakhan alive so she has Hamuul and Thrall take him and his council to a safe place, and then instructs the druids and shamans to evacuate / protect the civilians, in a sort of “let the alliance and the horde come to blows, I don’t care, just get as many civilians to safety as you can” (wait.. I don’t know if I made it clear that Amita is Champions of Azeroth / Khadgar / Neutral aligned. Okay. She is. Okay back to my rambling).
Basically there are vines everywhere.
Now I still don’t know how the raid ends (like if it ends with a huge naga / old god thing or what, but I’m gonna’ tentatively roll with the idea of Azshara forces rolling in like “durrhurhurr heeellLO LANDWALKERS”), but I know how it ends in LO. Vol’jin confronts Genn in the throne room or... wherever it is that the Alliance confronts Rastakhan, and he and Genn basically have this duel where the whole time Vol’jin is like “why don’t you tell them, Genn, why don’t you tell them who REALLY burned down Teldrassil? Haven’t you told them about how you shoved a torch into the hand of dead forsaken soldier? What about those shamans that were at your side when it happened, what’s become of them?” etcetc which leads to a break in the Alliance’s resolve and they retreat out of Zuldazar because honestly Anduin doesn’t know how to handle this information and I wouldn’t blame him. Neither does Jaina.
As the Alliance is falling back, however, the naga are like “EEEEYY LANDWALKERS” and the Dreamgrove / Earthern Ring come to the rescue with Jaina and Thrall tag-teaming to beat the fuck out of either an Old God herald or a huge Naga mmyes. I will have my Thraina. And the mages show up too because Ollwen is a good friend of Amita’s and she brings the Kirin Tor to HELP. This also saves the Alliance time cuz then they just teleport all the Kul Tiras boats and shit back to Kul Tiras and... then Anduin has to confront Genn. And Tyrande can still become a night warrior lmao don’t worry (as much as I apparently... dislike her???), because even if the Horde wasn’t behind burning Teldrassil, they were still very much behind everything that led UP to burning Teldrassil.
Rastakhn therefore lives but only solely because I want to write him sucking up his pride and stepping down from the throne to let Talanji lead with him as her mentor for at least a year before he finally passes away quietly in the night. Not all deaths have to be blood and glory on the battlefield to have impact. A quiet death is just as impactful (and honestly I have some experience because of how recently I lost my grandfather. Death hits hard regardless of how it happens). So my plan is to have Rastakhan pass away quietly and Talanji goes to greet him in the morning only to come across his cold form. Yeah. The ouchies are still there.
Annnnnnnnnd we’ll see how I decide to proceed from there. Yeah. Wow thanks for reading all the way if you did LMAO?!?!!? You are literally a trooper.
I guess you can tell me your thoughts?? //cries softly.

A War of Thorns - World of Warcraft AU Fanfiction
The cool, damp floors of the Undercity seeped into the shoes and souls of the gathering Sylvanas had called in her Royal Chamber. The Huntmaster shifted from foot to foot and rest a hand on the warm hide of their fel core hound companion to stave away the chill of the room. The undead seemed unbothered by the atmosphere, and the lack of chairs, as relentless in their mundane activities as they ever were in battle.
A mage blinked into the room, looking apprehensive and apologetic; still, the Warchief nodded to them in greeting, and Nathanos whispered audibly to the assembly, "That's the last of us, my Queen."
"Thank you, my Champion. And thank you all for coming," Sylvanas awarded the crowd. Many bowed their heads in reverence, others stood in silent anticipation. "I'm glad you all could make it so quickly."
"We are at your call, Warchief," assured Baine Bloodhoof.
Sylvanas paused. For barely an instant, but for long enough, that those who knew her noticed her moment of hesitation. When she continued, it was clear that she had prepared remarks, and spoke with the practiced calm of authority.
"Silithus. That has been the name of the game ... or rather, that is what I wanted the Alliance to believe.
"Azerite is powerful. Just as powerful as it is rumored to be, and while it bubbles up from the core of our aching world, it feeds the lands, and the mountains ... and any who wishes to tap its source.
"High Overlord Saurfang is leading an army towards Silithus. By now, he should be in the Eastern Barrens. I want you to intercept him and notify him that the preparations are complete.
"Preparations for what, you might ask? Why, we are going to capture the World Tree."
Unease shifted about the room. Sylvanas raised her arms to quiet any encroaching whispers as she moved to elaborate, now pacing before each attending member of her assembly, measuring them.
"For the past few weeks the Tree has been feeding on the blood of Azeroth. It is a power that we do not yet understand with clear destructive ability. We cannot allow it to remain in the hands of the Alliance. Even if we were to collect every stone we should come across imbued with Azerite - it could hardly measure up to the quantity being spoon fed to our enemies.
"Regardless of any peace we have fostered during the war against the Legion, the Alliance will turn against us. They always do. We cannot simply hope that once the Tree has fed upon Azerite for twenty years, a hundred, a thousand - that they would not loose that power against us, destroying everyone and every thing we hold dear. We must face this impossible threat now, while it is still in its infancy."
She sighed, lowering her head and raising her eyes to the Shadowblade, the leader of her rogues and assassins as she continued her command, "The kaldorei will defy our occupation unless we break their spirits. For this we must inflict a blow which will show them what is at stake. Malfurion must die."
"As you command," they answered, fading into the shadows with little fanfare, but the Archdruid in attendance stepped forward, ready to voice their opinion. Sylvanas raised a hand, and the room stayed quiet.
"I will not be taking council at this time. Of course I have weighed the value of the Dreamweavers and our other allies, and what this may do to our forces, the elements, our resources and our lands ... I'm sorry," she insisted with distinction, "but this is just too important.
"Meet with Saurfang. I will see you on the battlefield."
Saurfang fought as hard as any of them when time came for the attack, and yet he ordered mercy as often as possible, allowing many of the Alliance to retreat away from the destruction. Sylvanas would raise one long flickering eyebrow, but allowed it, as the night elves were not the target of this attack - if they should survive as refugees in Stormwind and put a strain on their resources, then so be it.
However, it was he and one other who found themselves facing Malfurion - all raging in their fray for different reasons. When the First of the Druids fell, Saurfang found himself hesitating - for being unable to tackle this foe on his own, he felt was not a fair fight. From the Trees, the Archdruid of the Dreamweavers revealed themselves, and offered to take Malfurion away to the Dreamgrove, where he might still appear a coward and a failure for the Warchief's purposes, but then might not tarnish Saurfang's honor. The old orc allowed them to leave, before retiring himself from this battlefield, to await the sight of the Veiled Sea.
The remaining champion had to bring the news of Malfurion's escape to Sylvanas and the other leaders of the Horde. The Warchief's instinct was to rage, and she dismissed Baine Bloodhoof for appearing too relieved of this outcome, much to his chagrin.
The champions of the Horde were struck by the sight on the horizon of Auberdine. The World Tree lit up the afternoon sky like a beacon, the amber and gold patterning that was visible in all Azerite materials shining gloriously over the open shores.
The Alliance took the fight to the sea, extending too many of their forces forward from the fortress of Darnassus. When the Horde finally made landfall at Teldrassil, the inside of the World Tree was in a panic. Goblin-flyers began drilling into the outside of its branches and the blinding sparks scattered into the seas below.
From the Temple of Elune, Tyrande gave her orders. She pushed more of her forces to the shores, unable to face the gravity of her situation. The battle raged for hours, and the Horde continued to push her strained forces to the mouth of the Tree, into Teldrassil - it was blasphemy and inconceivable. Try as they might, the hippogryph riders left to her were unable to curtail the goblins boring into her home from all sides. The screaming of her people and her Goddess filled her ears and her heart, as the truth became clear to her. She called for retreat. She called for the evacuation of everyone. The Horde could not be allowed the Azerite and could not be allowed her children. They would abandon the World Tree, and burn it to the ground in their leaving.
Portals were opened all over Darnassus. Hearthstones were distributed freely. An elite team of priests and mages and druids gathered in the upper reaches of Teldrassil and prayed for forgiveness as they called upon the element of fire as a spherical inferno grew to encompass the upper reaches of the World Tree. The Horde forces fell into the destruction as the final holding line of night elves vanished with teleportation magic. Sylvanas screamed.
It took hours for the blaze to burn down to a smolder. Large portions of the Azerite infused wood fell into the sea - black and red, useless and irretrievable. Though the Horde had succeeded in keeping this power source from their perceived enemies, it appeared that they too had lost this resource. Until Nathanos caught sight of it, a white gleaming portion of the world Tree, the edges of which glittered blue and gold.
"It must have splintered off before the blaze corrupted it," he mused as Sylvanas raised a hand up towards it, keeping her fingertips just a breath from touching the Azerite. She looked up at it, the piece stood nearly three stories high, and about thirty meters across. It would never be fed from the Azerite in the soil, but it was still a powerful find. She called out a victory to her troops and arranged for a contingent of mages to spend the next three days teleporting it to the Mage Quarter in the Undercity.
Word inevitably reached the Alliance that the Horde had recovered this piece of the World Tree, and none advocated louder for its return to the night elves than Tyrande. She may have exaggerated the power of this one piece of Azerite, but as much as Sylvanas knew - Tyrande could not stomach the symbolism and importance. This was their home. It was the right of the night elves to win back this one small piece when they had to leave all else in ashes.
Greymane, whose family had been so close to the fighting, and King Anduin, who maintained a strong skepticism of the Banshee Queen, both agreed and preparations for the Battle of Lordaeron were arranged.
The armies of the Alliance were so awesome in size that stealth would be an impossibility. Their victory would have to come with force and strategy. The Horde knew they were coming days in advance, and once again Sylvanas called out to her forces to amass in the name of the Horde.
The civilians of the Undercity were evacuated long before the Alliance armies could be seen from the parapets of Lordaeron.
“They didn’t even think to treat with me,” Sylvanas shared sadly with Saurfang. “Just came straight for war.”
He could see his defeat approaching, his mind swirling with the guilt of his fight with Malfurion, the judgement of his shaman, and the weakness of the soldiers in his command.
When he abandoned his forces, many felt the pain of his betrayal.
The battle never turned in favor of the Alliance, for it was always in their favor. When Jaina Proudmoore arrived on the battlefield, all honor and glory for her king, Sylvanas knew it was time. She had her troops prepare barrels and barrels of plague, and then loosed it into the spiraling catacombs she had once called home. They would drown this piece of the World Tree in it, and they would not relinquish the Undercity. Lordaeron would always belong to the Forsaken.
After the irony of destroying their own ... ancestral lands, also passed, Sylvanas had her forces teleport away in much the same way the night elves had; and ensured their remaining flying ships took to the skies in retreat.
"This was our home," Sylvanas said to her champions. Her eyes wavered on the undead in her company. "We have lost this home once in life, and now - and now in death -"
While she initially appeared as if she might have had a point she was striving towards with this statement, Sylvanas lost herself in her words. Her mind railed with memories of Arthas' destruction.
Lor'themar spoke, "We have all lost much. But the kaldorei had never lost anything in the way we had, prior to the World Tree."
Sylvanas shook her head as she regained herself. "Exactly. This. This is still a victory. We have proven ourselves as resilient in the past, and we will continue to do so, again and again. Until the Alliance grants us a peace we can believe in. Or until absolute victory."
