Kari listened to Hawks list off the heroes, eyes following to where Hawks pointed to put a name to a plushie. "So many." She muttered, but her eyes stayed on the Mirko plushie. "I think they all look super cool but Mirko looks the coolest, aside from you Papa." The child giggled, looking up at Hawks for a moment then going back to the plushies.

"You're right about the Endevor plushies... He looks angry and I don't want an angry plushie." She chirped, exhaling hard through her nose and listening to Hawks explain about the machine. She chuckled and looked up at her Papa when he mentioned he had skills.

"I mean, you have flying skills. And you're the number 2 hero, Papa. But I've never seen you play a crane game, I doubt it." She teased playfully. "You did just say these machines are SUPPOSED to be tricky and all." The child snorted softly, looking up at Hawks with an exaggerated shrug. "But if you say you can do it. Oh, but then again you said you'd beat me in that racing game. But I won!" Kari snorted at her own playful teasing.

She shuffled to be a bit closer to Hawks when he said to do so, already planning on staying close to him. She hugged his side slightly, her muscles tense as she looked around. Kari was trying a bit too hard to hide how cautious she was being. Not successfully, but she was trying to keep things happy. "I'm not goin' anywhere as long as I can help it." She whispered softly, eyes darting across the crowd. When Hawks said he was gonna win the Mirko plush, Kari looked up at the hero briefly then at the machine.

"Ok, lets see how skilled you are, Papa." She chirped, noticing a few people filming from their phones out of the corner of her eye. Great, this was gonna be on the news. This would be the second time she would be on screen, the first time was back when Hawks first brought her back to the pent house. Man that scared the crap out of her the next day. At least she was somewhat presentable this time.

Hawks chuckled, resting a hand on her head as she pressed against the glass. “Yeah, yeah, rub it in. You won—this time.” His voice held its usual playful lilt, but his eyes stayed sharp, quietly tracking the way her gaze flicked around the room. She was still on edge, even while buzzing with excitement over the plushies.

“Bunny lady, huh?” He smirked, following her gaze. “That’s Mirko. Toughest, fastest fighter you’ll ever meet. She’d love your energy, kid.” He nudged her lightly. “And Fat Gum? Oh yeah, I know him real well. Worked with him for a bit when I was younger.” He tilted his head, scanning the plushies. “Let’s see… there’s Edgeshot, Best Jeanist, Kamui Woods—oh, and there’s Endeavor, not that I expect you to fight over that one.”

Hawks tapped the glass near Mirko’s plush. “If you want her, we’re gonna have to work for it. These machines are basically designed to steal our money, but lucky for you—” He flexed his fingers, feathers twitching. “I’ve got skills.”

But his voice softened as he glanced down at her. He wasn’t gonna call her out on her nerves right now—didn’t wanna ruin the moment—but he wasn’t ignoring them either. “Stick close, alright?” His tone was casual, but there was a quiet layer of reassurance underneath. “Let’s win that bunny lady before someone else snags her.”
