I saw Hungarian Les Mis again [Budapest january 26th 19:00] with a slightly different cast and heres my honorable mentios from the night:

- First of all Javert. (Posta Viktor the man you are) I have never seen a Javert being more of an old feral street dog than his. He was whimpering, growling, shaking all night and it was delightful.

- Also im so sorry to all the big name westend and broadway actors who play Valjean but none of you can sing like Borbély Richárd, he opted up ALL THE TIME i have never heard man sing like that hes insane.

- Cosette(Haraszti Elvíria) was a little frisky little freaky(cant explain)??? Loved her. Very horny cosette (and marius!) indeed

- I had a different grantaire (cant find the actor yet im sorry here hes not like a proper character character) and he wasnt that much of a character than the last silly guy but. And hear me out. After Enjolras told him to put the bottle down he bared his teeth and bit at him??? The acting choices!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is such an insane choice so make😭😭😭 also his drink with me verse was Devastating, he also opted up and almost like wailed in sadness?(also started his part by holding enjolrases shoulder, chefs kiss)(also enjolras at this part realised he forgot to roll up his sleeve and spent the entire song rolling up his sleeve while sitting on top of the barricade)

- on the note of enjolras nothing compares to Szaszák Zsolt imo, and yeah… i did not like Cheh Dàvid Pèters character choices most of the time. He was very manly and stern and i think this is one of the most common mistakes enjolras actors do. But he DID sing and by the end i realised he has this Haunted look in the eyes from the first moment hes on stage. this enjolras knew they will die, he was born to die, his eyes were never full of hope just desperation and determination.(i will probably draw that)

- Oh Mariuses (Tóth Dominik, he really grown on me from the last time i have seen him) empty chairs made me eat my hat bc of the staging and the singing, he had this slighty deep voice which is so rare imo for marius and its was Vey Haunting but the staging?? Bawling my eyes out😭 when the amis comes to stage in full white and marius sings about his guilt he kinda walks towards them and they turn away but he seems to not realise this, and by the end of the song he kinda realises that they are there but they walk off stage😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

May I ask for some details about your Tav? What do you mean by hasnt really lived as a tiefling before? Like literally has never seen another tiefling? Seems like being abducted by the mindflayers introduced major life changes to your Tav

I'm sorry this took so long to answer, but I ended up doing a whole bunch of art to answer this!

Ember has a really extensive backstory that's kind of long, but the short version of it is: she was caught in the crossfire of a deal her parents made with a devil. They couldn't have a child of their own because her mother was too severely ill, so they made the deal in the hopes of returning her health and along with it the ability to bear children. Unfortunately devil deals being what they are, they ended up with Ember who the devil stole from her birth parents.

Her mom was a high elf and her dad a half-elf, and her mom's side of the family were quite vocally anti-Tiefling. Because of her mother's health problems, however, they couldn't just sever contact with her parents because they relied on their money to cover the cost of healers, expensive potion ingredients and the like. They couldn't be trusted not to be a threat to Ember though, so the decision was made to disguise her as their biological daughter throughout her childhood.

As a result, Ember didn't even know she was a Tiefling until she was around 4 or 5, when she began to present as a sorcerer and accidentally undid the disguise spell (she ends up a bard thanks to her mom, but her control of magic comes from sorcery).

Before the events of the game, the most time she ever spent as a Tiefling was when she was 13- when her mom died and her dad disappeared, the disguise spell having relied on her mum's magic. She went through hell for a while after that and as soon as she could learn how to cast the spell herself, she jumped at the chance and went back to living as her old half-elf self. So when she gets taken by the Nautiloid, it's her being forced to actually live as her real self and as a Tiefling for the first time. As a result she doesn't have great control over her tail, because she's just straight up not used to having one.

She also spends a lot of Act 1 jumpscaring herself whenever she walks by a mirror lmao.

I do plan to do some comics that are set earlier in the game at some point, and those ones will explore more of her backstory. What I've done so far has just happened to be set in Act 3, after she's already sorted a lot of her shit out. I just have no idea when that'll actually be!

I've seen a lot of absolutely stunning separated aus over the years, and I really wanted to try my hand at one.

Of course, I didn't want to feel like I was copying off of anyone else, so I tried coming up with something unique as well as something I knew I would enjoy writing.

So I thought up of the idea of separating the boys by timeline.

Essentially, each turtle comes from a different timeline, wherein their timeline they lost their versions of their brothers.

Mikey's brothers died in the lab explosion when Baron Draxum first created them, causing Mikey to grow up as an only child until he discovered three other timelines.

In Leo's timeline, he lost everyone he ever cared about during the Kraang apocalypse, spending years isolated and alone to wander a barren wasteland that seemed determined to end his life.

In Donnie's timeline, his brothers and family were killed by the Shredder, and for the next year, Dee's focus was just trying to survive a mafia world run by the Foot.

In Raph's timeline, he was infected by the Kraang and forced to murder his family with his own bare hands, and was used as a weapon and soldier for four years.

Mikey, seeing these other versions of the brothers he never got to know, decided to pull them out of their timelines and bring them to his, where they would finally be safe and have a second chance at the family they lost.

Basically, this au is just a big collection of fluff and angst with some superhero action thrown in the mix.

The turtles have to relearn how to be a part of a family again, as well as learn how to move on and heal from the pain of the past.

General info: They were all Human at some point and bonded over the fact they became this way by Norman's hand. Every inhuman feature about them is purely genetic now (Excluding Myst+Tink+Sandman). The whole group bonded over their shared hatred for Osborn in general though.

Adrian: He's an Egyptian Vulture. Tall as HELL, he's the second tallest. He's technically the leader and carries the burden of having a team made up of traumatized mutants while also being a traumatized mutant-

Lizard: Trans woman, Her name is Camila :] She has exactly 5 different lizard species in her DNA (5 points for anyone who can guess them all just from her design)

Rhino: It no longer identifies with anything from its life before getting mutated in an attempt to have some control over its life. Rhino strictly uses It/Its. Aside from Rhino DNA, It also has wooly mammoth DNA.

Lizard and Rhino fuckin HATE eachother. It stepped on her tail ONCE and she never forgave it. Mysterio often has to split the two up with his Alien form.

Electro: Graffiti artist. Has somewhat control over his bio electricity, Gloves and chestplate (which is what that tube attached to the back of his head is connected to.) help maintain that control.

Tinkerer (bc he's there): (My silly, my skrungly, my funny lil old man blorbo hehheghem-) Trans man :] Has a cat he rescued off the streets (bc i kept seeing people give him a cat and its like. Its a good headcanon) He and Beck met during his stuntman days (He was technical support on a movie Beck worked on), He isn't very fond of alot of the sinister six (Him and sandman are chill tho) but he tolerates them for Beck.

4. What were your hero characters like before being turned into Pokemon? What did they look like and how were their lives? Do they ever recover any of their memories?

I'll be honest, I haven't thought about this question all too much, so the content here is somewhat subject to change!

(Gonna be excluding Explorers hero in this discussion cause they technically have a canon backstory set in the future and I haven't delved much into that—other folks have though and it's a super neat train of thought!)

I think each of my PMD hero characters probably entered the Pokemon world at different ages; Arcas and Brooke probably got yoinked in the early-teens, but Reese being PSMD Hero is kiiiinda up in the air if we're going with the story's canon (in these doodles she's about the age of the other Serene Village kids though, if not just a little older!)

One funny idea I had for Arcas was just that he was a Team Skull delinquent, but his rather dry humor and lack of expressions probably didn't change that much after getting turned into a Pokemon. Likely got more and more scraps of his old memories back, but overall it doesn't bother him much!

Brooke remembers all of her old life (GTI Hero is actually the only protagonist out of the entire franchise that canonically doesn't have amnesia), and she does not miss it at all—getting turned into a Pokemon probably helped her if anything!

Reese unfortunately kinda ends up in the same boat as Explorers Hero; the game's plot gives them a set backstory that I haven't thought about too much—but I do think she gradually pieces more and more of her amnesia together! it's probably pretty bittersweet?

my brain's been thinking about certain realmers as magical girls recently, so i'm presenting my losa+tina x pretty cure au! i was inspired to make this when i saw this art by @melmokk3 !! maybe i'll make a madoka au as well but i wanted to make something more lighthearted and silly before anything else. what pretty cure is and what the au is are explained below the cut :3

okay so to quickly summarize what pretty cure/precure is, it's a magical girl series! there's currently 22 seasons and there's usually a different cast for each one. the story normally goes: a fairy's kingdom has been attacked by evil, they find the legendary pretty cures, they defeat the monsters of the week, and in the end good wins!! my au isn't based around any season in particular but instead i'm pulling from a lot of the common tropes/general tone and from what the spinoff seasons full bloom and mirai days are doing, which is working with aged up versions of the main casts.

as for the au itself-

the au focuses on ros, tina, sneeg, and clown. they're all adults in our modern world, living in a city... somewhere. they've got jobs, they're trying to make rent, and despite everything life could be worse! on one fateful day, coworkers ros and tina are window shopping when they encounter foolish! i don't have a solid vision for his design but i'm thinking he'd be like candy and pop from smile precure/glitter force. he's the fairy and therefore helper to the cures. he gives the two the rundown of how he got into this mess: he was the grand ruler of the kingdom of fools, until the malicious badgers attacked and destroyed the kingdom for the sake of causing chaos. now he's on the hunt for the legendary pretty cure warriors to save his kingdom, and their world, from destruction. shortly after they'd get attacked by pangi, and ros would become the first cure out of 4

after ros becomes a cure, she'd deal with a couple of fights with pangi with the occasional bbh sighting! she and tina would then be introduced to clown, who would become the second cure and the then strongest of the bunch. clown becoming a cure would also coincide with mocha/pili being introduced as a villain. sneeg would hear about all of the monsters running amok in the city his buddy ros lives in, so on the day he goes to check-in on her, the first attack orchestrated by the triple threat happens, and sneeg would become the third cure. if/when tina becomes a cure at all it would be much later down the line, probably closer to whatever explanation i can give the war in this au. in the meantime though, i have agendas to push so qpr losa and rostina yuri would be happening and are the relationship endgames.

i don't have solid designs in my head as of yet, but i've got a theme and some general color schemes/ideas. i'm still working on just picturing some stuff such as what they're using to transform/use their finishing attacks, as well as just fleshing out what happens between/during everyone becoming magical girls. seeing as the cures are fighting for the sake of the kingdom of fools though, why not theme them around a circus and circus positions?

ros would be Cure Ringleader, the head of the team, quickest of the bunch, and a purple cure. clown would be either Cure Jester or Cure Clown, he'd be a red cure, the best skill-wise, and he'd have a fire-based finisher. i'm still conflicted on sneeg's cure name but for now he's Cure Trapeze. he's a blue cure who can fly, and has a lightning finisher. lastly there's tina who's Cure Magician. she's a pink cure and the strongest magic-wise. i dont have the best vision of her finisher but i think somehow it'd involve a magician's hat. the losa would have a trio attack as well as duo attacks for each pairing. tina and ros would have a duo attack, and the 4 combined would have some crazy finisher that i'd imagine would put whatever they're fighting through a circus or something (thinking about the you&idol finishers as inspiration for the 4 cure attack, where whatever they're fighting literally gets teleported to a circus).

that's most of my put-together thoughts on this au for now. not sure if i will ever post any art but i might post more words abt this later. i'm still working on it and i'll probably also wind up with that madoka au at some point :3
