something i just realized about the sages (ignoring how frustrating to use i find the sages abilities overall) when they get their enigma stone they are like wow look at how much stronger i am now!! when its really just a ... clone of them, without the parts that make them interesting- the personality, and they "give" it to you (it doesnt feel like its really yours tho bc, unlike botw, its not intergrated into your moveset- which could have been solved by just adding them to another ability wheel- so it doesnt even feel like they are really yours) but ok i can see why its stronger even if i find it boring to just duplicate the character isntead of actually making their ability be more-
but then at the very end, they join you in the battle and .. dont even make use of it? what where the engima stones even for then? i guess you could bend over backwards and say well its bc their powers cant reach you all the way down there so they have to physical join you- BUT .. when they are right next to you .. shouldnt the connection to them be back anyway? so their clones should return shouldnt they? or is the entire arena just so surpressive of that power that it wouldnt work either way? then again ... what was its use then to get them to have those stones? like how ultra hand is supposedly the focus of the game but doesnt matter to the narrative at all?
(can you unsummon them when they are there?? i havent tried it but i dont think so ..)
like obviously it would be wayy too chaotic if all sages where there twice, especially together with all the ganondorf clones too- but it kinda .. once again... makes it feel meaningless that you even got them the stones? sure they only get to you when you do it but its really just again another check box with no substance, isnt it?
(... actually .. did anyone actually need the stones? aside from ganondorf getting that huge powerup somehow- like even the original sages and sonia and stuff, are you telling me she couldnt rewind ..................................... a tea cup, on her own? or i guess the only time sonia does anythign with her stone is when she gives its power to raurus laserbeam attack he never does again ... and the other sages arent shown to gain anything from it either?? are they?? what even would minerus ability have been bc she wasnt a -utterly useless- mech back then ... the shield she does doesnt seem unique to her either bc rauru literally does it too after sonia gets falcon-punched to death to block ganondorfs .. goo beam .... i mean i guess it doesnt matter anyway bc all we see them actually do is .. stand around and talk, sometimes "hurt" (dirty) sometimes not ... so whatever i guess?)

@lordlukisdoodledump asked me to share the headcanons so here I go
Under cut to avoid text walls
Most of these were developed in and inspired by convos with my friend @craftpunktabby !
Templeton:
If SHH had a robotics team or class he would excell in it.
Into model kits (of any kind) and those electircal science kits for kids
Really into scifi especially alien media (would probably like Invader Zim)
Has schizophrenia (this is meant in good faith. He reminds me a lot of my mom (a diagnosed schizophrenic))
Becky:
Hates being called Rebecca. Makes her feel like shes being scolded.
Following Squidgy, Becky got really into gardeneing. Keeps a potted plant in her room
Volunteers at animal shelters. Has to resist the urge to adopt every stray she comes across
Undiagnosed Anxiety. Thinks its normal for people to get worried to the point of stomach aches or hot spells about little things
Mitchell:
Guinely didn't cause his former school to catch fire.
Would probably like reading if the school would stop making him read the classics for school work. Would lean towards works with illustrations or graphic novels
Wants to pursue a career in music
Bishop
Has no idea how to actually fight if things came down to it
Rough home life. Doesn't talk about it and his personality is a buffer
Actually really softhearted under his persona
Mr. Creeper
Sleeps in the greenhouse
Act like he doesnt have emotions. Does infact has basic ones and has been developing more complex ones as he spends more time around humans.
Does still consider Becky family.

In my previous qsmp post I talked about how all the challenges of the qsmp are made so that the players will fail, but I wanted to elaborate a bit on the overall purpose of Why and the motive of this entity that controls this island, assumedly the qsmp federation. I also wanted to speculate on the overall theme of this story, and why I think this will actually have a (relatively) positive conclusion.
The theory that this is some sort of data-gathering operation is the one I think is the most plausible. This whole thing is an experiment. Maybe even a reoccurring one; this island is old, with broken down buildings and a wall covered in vines that can presumably move up and down. There was audio formatted like a report on test subjects until it devolved into errors. At least a few of the messages the players receive from the duck are recorded on videotape, possibly so they can be reused. The entire island feels used and artificial and is falling apart. Perhaps there were previous participants who faced similar tests and had similar conflicts and are now gone, in some way or another. Some of the entities present on the server might even be remnants of these past participants---mainly the ones who don't seem to be here intentionally, like the glitched green text creature, and the coded message telling them to find a way out.
As for the other entities, primarily the deities, to me they don't seem actually all that powerful. Maybe it's the fact they actually appear in game and not as some cutscene, or because they resemble players, but they seem to be working within the bounds of this experiment and this island, and are on a lower level compared to the federation. They are moreso variables than all-powerful beings. Which speaks to the level of control exerted over this island, amongst other things; something else that comes to mind is how death doesn't actually seem permanent, at least not yet. Players don't have an established limited amount of lives, and while the eggs do, they have come back on multiple occasions and only seem to stay dead because that's what some sort of controlling force wants. I don't believe people can permadie unless the federation wants it.
But why is this experiment being conducted? To prove a point, i think. To prove that these two groups cannot come together and use teamwork and get along and complete 'simple' tasks. To prove that unity is impossible. These challenges are made unable to be won, to cause more conflict, because they want to prove that this collaboration is foolish and harmful and should not be attempted.
The entire overarching theme of the qsmp, on multiple levels, is two different communities, two groups that speak different languages, coming together to make something. It's about working together despite differences and difficulties and learning from it. These challenges are the antagonistic force because they are driving people apart. The federation is the antagonistic force because it put them all on this island in a skewed experiment in order to prove collaboration between these two groups impossible. I think the story will be about defeating this because, despite how things are going now, the entire idea of the qsmp is to show that teamwork is possible and to prove those negative ideas wrong. To overcome those obstacles no matter what and subvert expectations of failure. It is a theme that permeates the entire operation, from the concept to the construction to the story, and I think it will prevail.

Today marks the 51st anniversary of the enactment of US-backed Martial Law in the Philippines by the late president/dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr. One of the darkest days in the history of the country and spanning for about a decade, many human rights violations, killings, tortures, enforced disappearances, military and police abuse of power, economic downfall, environmental damages, famine, media blackout (except for those approved of the regime), and overall corruption. All for the so called "fight against communist insurgency." The Marcos family and their allies basically lived like royalites while the Filipino people suffered.
Ferdinand Emmanuel Edralin Marcos Sr. served as the 10th president of the Philippines for 20 years from 1965 to 1986. He ruled under martial law for nine years from 1972 until 1981 but kept most of his martial law powers until he was deposed in 1986. Under his regime, violence was used to enforce civil control over the citizens of the Philippines, resulting in thousands of documented cases of human rights violations.
But many people to this day continue to refer to this time as the "Golden Age" of the country, that life was good for "law abiding citizens." Here are some numbers that debunks this popular myth.

Data from the image:
Sept. 21, 1972: Date of Proclamation No. 1081 placing the Philippines under martial law.
49: Persons from the Greater Manila Area immediately arrested on Sept. 22, 1972, by the military, among them three senators, three congressmen, two provincial governors, four delegates to the Constitutional Convention and eight newsmen. First on the list was opposition senator and main political rival Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr.
Sept. 23, 1972: Press Secretary Francisco Tatad announces the imposition of martial law and reads the Marcos proclamation in a nationwide televised broadcast. Marcos himself went on air at 7 p.m. to formally announce the proclamation
12-4 a.m. – Curfew was put in place
Jan. 17, 1981: Marcos signs Proclamation No. 2045 lifting the implementation of martial law ahead of the first papal visit of Pope John Paul II in February.
107,240: Primary victims of human rights violations during martial law
70,000 people arrested, mostly arbitrarily without warrants of arrests*
34,000 people tortured*
3,240 killed by the military and the police*
*Amnesty International
464: Closed media outlets after declaration of martial law
$683 million: Worth of Marcos assets in various Swiss banks declared as ill-gotten based on a July 2003 the Supreme Court ruling
$5-10 billion: Estimated alleged ill-gotten wealth plundered by the Marcoses during two decades in Malacañang
6,281: Number of Marcos laws from September 1972 to February 1986
2,036 presidential decrees
61 general orders
1,093 executive orders
1,409 proclamations and other issuances
1,525 letters of instructions
157 letters of implementation

Poverty
Poverty worsened over the course of the Marcos era. Whereas about 4 out of 10 families were poor before Marcos took office, 6 out of 10 families were poor by the end of his rule.
Moreover, as the graph on the left shows, this is a consistent trend across the different regions of the nation, with some regions reaching as high a rate as 7 out of 10 families below the poverty line. Only two regions saw a marginal decrease in the number of poor families: the Ilocos Region and Cagayan Valley.
Daily wages of Filipino agricultural workers declined by about 30%, such that if a farmer earned Php 42 per day in 1972, he would only be earning about Php 30 in 1986. The wages of farmers even went as low as nearly half of the pre-Marcos values in 1974, right after the declaration of Martial Law (middle graph).
On the other hand, for skilled and unskilled workers in urban areas, the graph on the right shows the change in their wages from pre-Marcos to EDSA values. Skilled workers are workers with some special knowledge or skill, often having gone to college or technical school; unskilled workers are workers without this level of training.

Info for images:
Deforestation
In addition to factors relating to the domestic economy, another way of assessing the Marcos regime is through its impacts on the nation’s natural resources and the environment. The graph specifically gives us an idea about how Marcos’s policies affected the country’s forest cover over the course of about 20 years.
Supposedly, about 90% of the Philippines’ 18.7 million hectares of uplands, including more than 11 million hectares officially classified as timberlands, is publicly owned. In practice, fewer than 200 individuals controlled a large fraction of the country’s forests.
In pursuit of economic gains, Marcos and his cronies’ uncontrolled exportation of timber led to a drastic reduction in forest cover. This cascades into dire environmental impacts including flooding, landslides, and even the worldwide phenomenon of global warming.
I could add more to this post, but that would be way too long.
To this day, the Marcos family, their allies, and supporters, paid or not, continue to deny these facts and claim that the Marcos family were good for the Filipino people and the country.
We must continue to remind the people of this dark time in the history, to not let history be erased and be replaced with lies, to remember the sacrifices made by the victims of Martial Law and their families, and to not let history repeat itself.
Never Forget!
Never Again!
