Blursed AUs masterlist.

This is a reference for all the AUs that are commonly talked about on this blog. The mods they are listed under are the mods in charge of content for it on this blog, not necessarily the creators of them. (* indicates that they are original to the the mod)

Mod Ivy

Kairro: Morro posses Kai instead of Lloyd. Things take a much different and darker turn since Morro and Kai are very alike.*

Overkill au/ Overkill!Zane: Zane develops a glitch named Overkill that convinces him the best way to protect his friends to to mind control them. Surprisingly, the ninja disagree!*

Serial Killer Nya/Serial Killer!Nya: Nya is a serial killer, and very over protective of Kai. Instead of Samurai X Nya creates the persona Mazoku X. Kai is aware of her habits, but largely in denial. She's a bad influence on Lloyd.*

Hypno Lloyd/ Hypno!Lloyd: Lloyd has oni hypnosis powers.*

Evil Hypno Lloyd/ Evil Hypno!Lloyd: Lloyd decides to use his oni hypnosis powers to force all his friends to turn evil with him. Nya is able to get away because she doesn’t have an elemental connection to Lloyd for him to exploit.*

Thief au/ Thief!Kai, Theif!Nya, and Thief!Lloyd: Kai and Nya were adopted by Ronin, later finding and adopting Lloyd as well. Zane, Cole, and Jay are the same and have to try and get these hooligans to cooperate with them to save Ninjago.

D&D au: All of the show is just a D&D campaign the characters are playing.*

Moviekhan: Nadakhan shows up in the Movie universe, the movie ninja force wish for someone that can defeat him, Show!Jay gets teleported into their universe and has to coach the much younger ninja and help them defeat Nadakhan.

Siren au: Nya and Kai are sirens. Jay is a pirate they kidnap and keep as a pet/friend.

Djinn!Jay: Somehow Jay gets turned into a Djinn. He gets his own rules and his wish granting has it’s own quirks.

Villain Vibe: All the ninja are just evil and group up to be bad evil people and rule ninjago. Each are their own brand of bad guy though.*

Cyborg Jay/ Cyborg!Jay: Jay has been augmenting himself in secret and has a whole system of inventions he’s wires into himself.

Oni Misako au: Misako is an oni that was sent to Ninjago as a scouting party, but met Mystake, fell in love with Garmadon, and decided to just live in Ninjago instead of trying to destroy it.

Fate/Ninjago: A holy grail war featuring all your favorite Ninjago characters! (Or at least weird reincarnated substitutes of some of them.) Cross over with the Fate series.*

Ninjatubers: The ninja get Youtube channels for various reasons. Chaos ensues.

Tall Vampire Lady Misako: Misako is a Lady Dimitrescu style vampire. Garmadon is a simp for his giant wife. (There is no tag for this because it got out of hand too fast and there is no way I can dig through and find everything now.)

Grandpa Djinn: Darla was pregnant before Nadakhan's banishment and was Kai and Nya's great something grandmother. Nadakhan escaped the tea pot early and is delighted to take in his great something grandkids.

Uncle Krux: Multiple versions. Krux takes Kai and Nya in instead of leaving them to fend for themselves and either raises them to be evil, or slowly gives up on the evil plan. Alternatively, he gives up on the evil plan before he ever kidnapped Ray and Maya.

Brainwashed Kai (Mod Ivy's Version): Instead of just stealing Kai’s element, Aspheera decides to take him as well, brainwashing him into being her decorative pet

Mod Kat:

Miraculous au: Lloyd accidentally gets stuck in the Miraculous Ladybug universe, the rest of the ninja soon follow. Hawkmoth is his usual jerk, the ninja use some miraculous and just generally deal with the chaos all while they figure out how to get home.

Monkie Kid crossover: the ninja adopt a child from another realm when he randomly gets spit out by a portal directly in their front yard.*

Mod [R]

Amnesicpirate!Jay au/ Orpheus!Jay: Jay gets kidnapped by Nadakhan and has his memories stolen. Jay is told that he’s always lived on the Misfortune’s Keep and that his name is Orpheus. The ninja recognize him, he doesn’t know who they are or why they keep calling him “J”.

Bunker au/ Bunker!Kai: Movie!Kai finds an abandoned super villain lair under his house and decides to use it as his own personal secret clubhouse. Show!Kai ends up in the Movie universe and Movie!Kai puts him in the super villain bunker and keeps him a secret from everybody while Show!Kai figures out how to get home.

Cryptid Jay Aus: Jay is a Cryptid that endlessly builds towers that the ninja need to stop. 3 versions, Gay, Child* and Greiving.

Amongus!au: The ninja are aboard a spaceship, and everything is going fine. Until they realize there is an imposter on the ship, planning to kill everyone.*

Kai instead au: In the pilot, Kai gets taken by the skullkin instead of Nya. Now she has to go find her brother. Nya gets help from three students who are also trying to stop the skulkin, they also want some weapons that she couldn’t care less about.*

DHMIS!au: The ninja as the Dhmis characters. Things go about as well as expected.*

Animaniacs au: The Warners mess with a machine of the Brains, meant for Brain to use the help of alternate universe versions of himself. This causes the three Warners to to be teleported to this weird place called “ninjago”, like what a stupid name!*

Hadestown au: It’s the Hadestown musical. Garmadon is Persephone, Misako is Hades. (Plasma au)*

Wrong place wrong timeline: The ninja keep seeing the apparition of a strange person desperately trying to get to them, disappearing right before they get to them. When trying to learn more about what’s going on, they learn that Garmadon is a little more ruthless than they thought.*

Blog God (Departed)

Brainwashed Kai au/ Brainwashed!Kai: Instead of just stealing Kai’s element, Aspheera decides to take him as well, brainwashing him into being her servant.

Siren Jay au/ Siren!Jay: Jay is part siren on his mother’s side and doesn’t have perfect control over his siren powers.

Element Swap au/ Element Swap!Kai, and Element Swap!Nya: Nya is the master of Fire and Kai is the master of water.

Ghost of Time AU/ Ghost of time: Kai dies fighting Krux and Acronix in the timestream, causing him to be removed from time. Small evidence remains of him existing like a blurry video of his final moment. Kai’s ghost is outside of time and has virtually no memories. The ninja think he’s important, but can’t figure it out, plus there are some holes in their own memories where things don’t make sense.

Duolingo Lloyd: Lloyd is the duolingo bird (with a gun) and terrorizes Kai in his nightmares. (and I guess now Misako has an alter ego named Rosetta Stone that’s the same thing)

Part One of the List of Sherlolly Prompts as of 12/12/2017

As of 12/5/2017 the Prompt List has been split into two parts due to size.

Here is a link to the very informal Sherlolly Prompt Fest FAQ

Below is the list of prompts submitted to @holidaysat221b. Where possible, we have tagged the submitter so that credit can be given if a prompt inspires someone to write a fic or create a piece of art.

Some submissions were specifically labeled as Art prompts, and they have been separated into their own category. However, if you are a fic writer and one of the art prompts calls to you, go for it. Likewise, if one of the other prompts makes you want to draw, have fun with it! Prompts that have been filled at least once will be followed with an *, in case that influences your decision to work with one.

We only ask three things:

1) If you use one of the prompts on this list, please remember to credit the prompt and prompter somewhere in your fic summary/art description or in your notes. It’s the polite thing to do.

2) Please submit an ask or message @holidaysat221b with a link to your work, the prompt you used, the prompter, and how you want to be identified (in cases where your Tumblr and fic/artist name are different). AU/Works that do not/will not fit in with the series current on-screen canon

Sherlock: A TV series featuring a hot guy with awesome deductive skills, his best friend the doctor, the exasperated detective inspector, the sweet landlady, and the pathologist. And no, the pathologist isn’t in love with the hot guy. - The Silent Fangirl

A post TRF fic, where Sherlock takes Molly with him, but they return to London a couple years later than in canon because Molly got pregnant along the way (or even twice), so now they are three/four of them instead of two? - @mychakk

“We had chips. She liked me.” – Sherlock in TLD. What could have been had he and Molly gotten chips in TEH: A kick to Tom’s butt. Happy greeting (a hug at least!) at the end of TEH. Quite a lot of sex with Sherlock instead of Tom. Molly the best man’s date. A (sophisticated. Or not) Molly/Janine cat fight for Janine hitting on SH moments. Dancing, so much Sherlolly dancing (and no leaving early). Probably no Shezza (Shezzer?)—which, hmm, is a shame (But maybe they’ve their own not-being-on-a-sex-holiday-but-sexing-a-lot time). A real proposal to Molly. Molly at family Christmas, maybe even a Christmas wedding. Solving CAM without the threat of exile sharpens Sherlock’s deductive abilities. No Norbury as Molly’s already expecting their first offspring, so Sherlock doesn’t taunt needlessly. Mary as the Sherlolly baby godmother as she’s alive! Culverton Smith is taken down by the duo of Mary and Molly while the latter gives birth there (because the ladies are awesome, plus Mrs H tackles him down). John is so impressed he doesn’t look at any other women. Molly’s big heart brings Eurus from her metaphoric plane the moment she steps into 221B, plus baby Holmes wins her heart too. The Holmes family reconciliation and Eurus is in therapy instead of being a multi-killer. Baker Street Boys Team continues while Baker Street Girls Team gives them a run for their money. Mycroft asks Lady Smallwood out himself to her astonishment and internal squealing. Mummy Holmes gets more grandkids than she could’ve imagined. And basically, everyone walks happily into the sunset. The End. Please note, some things can obviously be modified. - @mychakk *

AU: Molly runs away from home when her parents try to arrange a marriage for her. She wants to pursue a life that involves science and marry for love if she ever gets married at all. She meets Sherlock, who is being pressured by his family to marry a nice girl they found for him who loves science as much as he does. It will be interesting when they figure it out. - @shadowyqueenbeard

AU. Instead of dying, Mary actually does hide from Sherlock and John effectively and they don’t find her. Still wracked by guilt and worried he’ll never see her again, John still imagines her in his mind and Sherlock still goes after Culverton Smith … possibly both to save John and because maybe Smith knows something about where Mary went? To solve the mystery and bring Mary home, Sherlock and Molly team up. - @rooneykmara

Uni!lock Sally wakes Molly at 2 am because her junkie boyfriend of dorm 221b is streaking across campus calling her name, so she better stop denying that she’s his girlfriend. - @escaily

To cover her butt during New Year's Eurus lies and tells mummy that Sherlock has a wife, and Mycroft borrows her 'Sherlock's wife' excuse whenever he wants to avoid sticky topics during holidays. The lie gets bigger the more Sherlock avoids family meetings. Until December when Sherlock finds out he's married to a forensic (E), sex addicted(E), petite (E), intelligent (M), very forgiving (M) paragon of virtue (M). Now he needs to find a stranger that fits the description before Christmas. - @escaily

Rock Royalty AU. That AU in which Mary drags Molly into an edgy rock concert of her favorite band “Baker Street Boys” even though everybody and their mother knows that indie acoustics and hippie music is Molly’s thing. Enter Sherlock Holmes lead band member, (the type of Rock Star that sings ‘Wanted Dead or Alive’ while high as a kite) famous for his electric violin solos, addict past and cold attitude. He tries deducing the girl less likely to throw herself at him out of all the fans and finding that one concert goer who doesn’t get turned on by his music. Turns out that Molly the ‘I-said-I’m-not-a-groupie’ pathologist in training is actually an interesting girl when she’s not covering her ears, even if Sherlock needs to educate her on the finger points of violin appreciation. Basically a fic where the Rockstar wants to turn this hater into a fan but actually ends up falling for her instead. - @escaily

Crossovers/Works set in or inspired by another specific fictional universe (ie Potter!lock)

I’d really like to see a Daemon (from the His Dark Materials books by Philip Pullman) version of Series 3/TAB/Series 4 (any or all of those), especially when it comes to the ILY scene. - Kay

iZombie!Sherlock – Think of this, if Sherlock gets infected we have: 1) Sherlock with white hair 2) Sherlock getting brains from Molly “for experiments” 3) Sherlock getting different attitudes (hippie brain = hippie!Sherlock) 4) Paler than normal pale Sherlock 5) Sherlock with red bloodshot eyes. Also: If Molly Hooper gets infected, it’s like she’s the Liv Moore of Barts. Lestrade as Clive (and relieved to be not only depending on Sherlock to solve crimes). Sherlock deduces Molly’s hair color and tan (because Molly can’t show up to work with white hair, even whiter skin color, and very slow pulse rate). They take her captive, intending to blackmail Sherlock or hold Molly for ransom; but Molly Hooper is having none of that nonsense. While Sherlock works to save her, Molly finds ways to torment, injure, and outwit her captors. Whether she escapes on her own, finds a way to let Sherlock and John know where she’s at, or ends up driving her kidnappers crazy to the point that they give up and send her back is up to the author. Clique/Sherlock Crossover - After the events of TFP, Molly Hooper (who is actually Jude McDermid) decides to go back to Edinburgh, broken-hearted & bound to continue the “family business” after years of running away from it. Gone is her long hair & colorful jumpers: she completely changed her look & have every information about Molly Hooper destroyed. Years passed, she forms the Solasta Women’s Initiative, much to her brother’s delight, until a horrific event brings Sherlock Holmes back into her world again. It’s more of a Sherlolly/Judelock mash-up where Sherlock wants to know why she left, who she really is, & how he’s still madly in love with her. Molly/Jude is more like she’s finally embracing the life she thought she never wanted, until she realizes that she can never forget the love she has for Sherlock. Can she be Jude & love him as well? Can Sherlock accept her true reality, or does he only love her as Molly & not Jude. Throw in a nice mystery/thriller plot too! Oh yeah Mycroft, who knew Molly is Jude from the beginning but decided to let Sherlock figure it out on his own, is determined to stop this union at all cost. Pls include all the girls & guys in Clique, especially Holly since she’s a badass off to take down Jude and her “girls” no matter what! Author Spotlight: LaTessitrice

First up, I would like to make it VERY clear that my arm was twisted into doing this by my fellow mods. I was harassed! Bullied! They threatened to give me wedgies and swirlies and all sorts.

I got nominated a few times but I always declined as I thought it was icky doing it for myself. I still do. BUT. I am now the only mod standing who hasn’t been featured, and it was decided that we should all have one so that you have an idea of why we love Wintershock.

So without further (grudging) ado:

01. What about Wintershock as a pairing appeals to you?

The two characters are the heart of it, and how I think their dynamic would work. Darcy is one of my favourite MCU characters, especially in the fic world, so she’s always a go-to when it comes to ships. Then when Bucky Barnes came onto the scene, the pair seemed a natural fit to me. He’s been through hell but at the core he’s a brave, loyal man. He’s damaged but with enough care, the old, charming Brooklyn boy might emerge again. Darcy’s also brave and loyal, but we’ve also seen that she’s a good caregiver and persistent too. She’s the kind of soul that Bucky needs to help him heal - someone who’s seen enough weirdness but isn’t battle-scarred and has the softness and optimism to keep him believing in people.

02. How did you first encounter the pairing?

I think I first read something before The Winter Soldier had even been released, as part of a WinterShieldShock soulmate story. I liked the dynamic, although at that time there was precious little fic featuring Bucky, and his characterisation was mostly guesswork based on The First Avenger and the comic arc. Then in late 2015 I watched The Winter Soldier again and for some reason it really grabbed me that time around, which led me seeking out more Bucky-centric fic. I found Lefty’s Road Trip series (then in progress) and, as everyone says, it’s a gateway drug. I was hooked!

03. Do you have any specific Wintershock headcanons?

I think both characters are extremely protective of each other, in different ways. Bucky is constantly paranoid that Darcy’s relationship with him will lead to her being hurt - or worse - and Darcy won’t stand for anyone who blames Bucky for what he did as a prisoner of Hydra. Tony’s got salted coffee many times for little barbs he’s flung Bucky’s way.

Sometimes Bucky’s desire to protect Darcy results in him pushing her away, but the two of them are both so stubborn it’s a rock meeting an immovable force. Bucky’s not very good at expressing what he’s thinking and feeling - mostly because he’s not very good at understanding it anymore - but Darcy knows it almost instinctively, and won’t let him simmer in unhealthy emotions.

As for tropes: soulmates (obvs), fake marriage, and a nice big dollop of ABO. Mutual pining in many forms is also my big go-to. Love it.

04. Do you associate any particular songs with Wintershock? If so, which one?

Did you mean: do you have playlists set up for the fics you’ve written and also for Wintershock in general. Why yes, yes I do!

A few choices - Fear by Sarah McLachlan, The Foreboding Sense of Impending Happiness by HIM, Maps by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Wild Horses by the Sundays (a big favourite for many ships), Carry by Tori Amos, This Is Love by PJ Harvey, You’ve Got the Love (Florence + the Machine) - okay I’m stopping.

05. What Wintershock fic by someone else would you recommend to others to read? What about this fic appeals to you?

Well, first up has to be Three Weeks, Ten States, and One Million Reasons to Fall for You aka the first part of the Road Trip of Champions. Beyond that, anything by Pollydoodles, my sometime writing partner. She manages to write comedy, romance and drama with an equally deft and compelling touch. And for a sweet, smutty and short intro to the ship, Making A Point by Becisvolatile.

06. What kind of Wintershock story would you love to read that hasn’t been written yet by you or others?

I definitely have other Wintershock stories planned, which I’ll write once I’ve finished the many, many WIPs I have. I like fairytale and mythology AUs -- anything with a Persephone/Hades spin is a winner in my eyes but I’m not aware of any yet. And I do think the ship is lacking good, plotty, long-form but complete ABO. Someone should get on that.

07. Out of the Wintershock stories you’ve written, which is your favourite, and why?

If You Were My Love. Hands down. It’s about the easiest thing I’ve ever written, the reception to it was *amazing* - I wasn’t expecting much feedback at all and yet people really seemed to respond to it. It marries some of my favourite tropes - soulmates, mutual pining - and drops in a twist ending that I’m proud nobody really predicted. I think I managed to blend drama, romance, angst, and action, with a dash of humour, which is no mean feat for something that’s only novella-length. Plus I’m really proud of some of my prose in that story.

08. Quote a favourite extract from one of your stories. What is it that you like about it?

He can’t remember ever being this happy. Not even when she said his words, because that was an incomplete joy, hamstrung by confusion and the fresh scars of his recapture by Hydra. When she told him she loved him probably comes a close second, but being this close to her—it’s indescribable. Like he’s got warm bubbles of champagne running through his veins.

That she trusts him enough to sleep beside him, unguarded and vulnerable, means more than she will ever understand. He tries to pretend that he believes he is a person, a human being warped and worn by the whims of the universe, but he will never rid himself of the knowledge that he is a beast. He will never be able to clean his hands of the blood they have shed, but tonight he used them for an entirely different purpose, the callouses moving across her delicate skin with a gentleness he hadn’t know he still had within him. Somewhere under the blankets are the words are on her hip, words he worshiped in an entirely new way tonight.

He never thought he would ever be warm again, that the cold would haunt him forever, the bone-deep chill as much a part of him as the metal arm. And yet, she melted that away. That’s what Darcy gave to him: warmth.

This is from one of the IYWML outtake pieces, a short and fluffy morning-after-the-first-night snapshot that I think really captures that post-orgasmic emotional and physical chill. Again, people really liked some of the description, and I think (hope) people can really feel the happiness that Bucky’s feeling in this moment.

Webtoon Reclist

So I discovered a bunch of webcomics on Line Webtoon recently. I keep binging things, so here’s a list of recommendations from what I’m up to date on. Links to the comics themselves are included.

Completed

Always Human - Sunati Raval lives in a world where genetic modification is easy and hip, and she loves changing her look. Meeting Austen, a girl whose immune system rejects mods, makes Sunati see a new angle of things. She and Austen are interested in each other, but they only just met, so making this relationship float will take work from both parties.

Girls Have a Blog - Sarah and Tara had a webcomic while they were in art school, but after Webtoon found it years later and asked to feature it, they decided to make a new version on the same premise: the two of them living together and having adventures in art, writing, and adulting.

My Boo - Yuri So can see ghosts, but ever since she was young, she’s made it a point to never let anyone know, not even the ghosts. No matter what, when someone finds out it becomes a burden for her. Unfortunately, a careless mistake leads to her moving into a house inhabited by a ghost named Jun Ko. Yuri’s only able to ignore Jun for so long, and it’s time she finally confronted her personal demons.

Note: My Boo is on Webtoon’s “Daily Pass” system. The first five episodes are freely available, then every successive episode requires a Daily Pass to unlock for two weeks, of which a user will only get one a day without paying for more.

Oh! Holy - Jamie Oh has had a hard time making friends due to his ability to see ghosts. The one friend he had, Holy Joo, moved away long ago, abandoning their promise to see the world together. After that, he gave up on trying to connect with anyone but ghosts. But after Jamie crosses paths with Holy again in high school, an accident threatens her life, forcing the two to make a deal with a reaper to stay alive.

Orange Marmalade - Mari Baek is a vampire who only wants to live quietly in one place instead of being run out of town every time someone finds out what she is. Unfortunately, the most popular boy in her school takes a shine to her after her instincts get the better of her in the presence of his strong-smelling blood. She doesn’t like attention, but maybe a few friends and a boyfriend wouldn’t be so bad. Assuming, of course, that she can trust them.

Shard - Shay is a witch on the run from her coven, desperate to keep out of their control and live her own life. There’s a certain spell she wants to cast, a portal she wants to open, and the missing piece is a virgin. Her best bet is one of a group of geology nerds she manages to come across, but the trick will be getting him into the ritual before her coven can get their claws back on her.

Super Secret - As far as Emma Ji knows, she’s just very close with her next door neighbors. But the truth is that her parents signed a Rapunzel-esque contract with this family of supernatural beings after wronging them before Emma was born. The son of the family, Ryan, developed feelings for Emma over the years, but he’d rather do things on her terms than because of some contract.

unTouchable - Vampires have evolved over the centuries, moving from consuming blood to absorbing energy through touch. Sia Lee is one such vampire, and Jiho Shin – the best target she’s ever set her sights on – has extreme OCD, so she decides to help him get over it. Is Sia really going this far just for a meal, or is there actually something to her claim of feelings for Jiho?

Where Tangents Meet - Landon Takahashi was left cynical and bitter by 17 years of people pretending to like him for his money and balking at his geeky hobbies. Rachelle Fletcher is a year older, yet so sweet and flighty that she blows away all of Landon’s preconceived notions about people. They grow close quickly, and decide to navigate the foibles of their first serious relationship together.

#Blessed - Joanna is young and frustrated with her love life. She thinks playing around with a dating app will improve her situation, but things only get worse when a mistaken swipe locks her into a contract with a gaggle of godly beings who all want a chance at dating her. She has to choose one of them in the end, and they won’t leave her alone, but the rest is in her hands.

Aerial Magic - Wisteria Kemp is a textblind mage who dreams of doing aerial magic professionally. Her only hope of joining a guild and being officially qualified is an apprenticeship. Apprentices are a dying practice, so the only person who would take her on lives in a city far away from her town. Wisteria has to not only learn as much as she can from Cecily, but navigate interacting with Cecily’s son Lachlan and her employees Amal and Killian.

Assassin Roommate - Mags isn’t the most adept in social situations with new people, but she needs a roommate to afford her new place. She’s read all about the problems of being too close to one’s roommate, so she’s determined to be strictly professional. And as friendly and gorgeous as her new roommate Kurt is, he could never know about her job as an assassin even if they did get close.

Castle Swimmer - Many of the underwater kingdoms of merfolk have prophecies, but they all have one thing in common: they center around a golden mer called The Beacon arriving and bestowing some boon upon the kingdom. The shark kingdom is a cursed community, hoping against hope for The Beacon to arrive and fulfill their prophecy… of being killed by their prince to lift the curse. But what happens when neither prince nor beacon want any of this prophecy burden?

The Croaking - Humanoids with the wings of birds populate an island civilization. As an Osprey, Ky Cedoc is an unusual recruit at the Roost military academy. As a Crow, Scra Eldwode is even more unusual. How perfect, then, that these two misfits are placed as roommates on top of having met right before the semester started. Well, not so perfect, since Scra is hardly around, sneaking out every night, and there are whispers among the city gangs about something called The Croaking.

Crumbs - Urban fantasy meets easygoing slice of life. Every Friday, Ray makes a trip to her favorite magical bakery, where customers can buy pastries imbued with confidence, inspiration, anything you can imagine. Every week, Ray walks in and has her favorite flavor: romance. And one day, the baker’s nephew reaches out to her.

Empyrea - Soul-stealing demons known as keres plague the twelve realms, and only the Aetherborn knights have the power to combat them. Tristan, otherwise known as Hawk, is a strange knight who refuses to serve a lord. Kira is a young inventor straining against the expectations of her family. The two cross paths one night, and their lives begin to change.

Freaking Romance - Zylith is striking out on her own after being thrown out of her parents’ home at age 18. The only apartment she can afford on her savings was reported by previous tenants to be haunted, which only intrigues Zylith more because of her fondness for the paranormal. She’s excited to start seeing a boy who seems like a ghost around her apartment, until she and her friend do some digging and find out the last girl who lived there disappeared after seeing him.

I Love Yoo - Yoo Shin-Ae couldn’t care less about romance. She cares way more about food and making ends meet, and she loudly rejects any sort of advances. Through a series of shenanigans at a party, Shin-Ae’s life ends up entangled with two boys, one who takes a shine to her immediately and one who’s just as prickly about girls as she is about boys.

Ketchup - Soulmates aren’t necessarily a romantic relationship, but they do have a link that can pass glimpses of the five senses as well as emotions between the pair. Riley and Kelyn were childhood friends, but right when Riley was figuring out that they were linked, one wrong move destroyed their friendship. Years later, they’re reunited when Kelyn finally discovers their link. Kelyn wants to rekindle their old bond, but Riley still carries a grudge from their falling out.

Lackadaisy - In a version of prohibition-era St. Louis populated by anthropomorphic cats, the Lackadaisy speakeasy was once a booming beacon of night life. But with its owner dead, his widow Mitzi is left with a ragtag handful of employees and not enough booze to go around for her few customers. Mitzi will be damned before she sees the place her husband built die, and she will do whatever it takes to put Lackadaisy back on top.

Lore Olympus - This modern retelling of the Taking of Persephone sees the mythological Greek gods and heroes in a metropolitan setting. Persephone is a country mouse at her first big city party, and Aphrodite decides to play a trick on her and grim Hades. Persephone and Hades end up thoroughly embarrassed, but also oddly enchanted.

Mage & Demon Queen - The demon tower is a gauntlet where adventurers of the highest order test their mettle, but very few make it to the top, where the demon queen Velverosa dwells, and no one has ever managed to kill her. Many have died trying, respawning back in town to tell the tale. Malori is a young mage who climbs the tower countless times. She faces the demon queen over and over, in hopes of wooing her.

Melody of Orange - The Curse of Eve binds soulmates together, not by a love link but by a death link. When one dies, the other will die in the same manner, no matter the situation. While love isn’t explicitly part of the curse, soulmates are generally encouraged to be together. However, when Mikan meets a scary boy she finds to be her soulmate, she wants nothing to do with him. It’s not for the reasons you might think; it’s Mikan herself who’s carrying an intense guilt that makes her feel unworthy of happiness.

Nothing Special - Callie doesn’t think of herself as anything special, not when there are fairies, demons, and all sorts of magical creatures just beyond a doorway. A boy from her school disagrees when he’s freaked out by his sudden ability to see spirits and impressed by her knowledge of the supernatural. Together, they embark on a journey through the spirit world to save Callie’s dad, and maybe learn a little about themselves and each other along the way.

Siren’s Lament - Lyra is a bit of a wallflower, content with her ordinary life, content to run her flower shop and silently pine for her friend Shon while he dates someone else. But one night, her emotions get the better of her, and she ends up involved in a curse with a siren named Ian. Ian is the opposite of helpful, and the curse he brought with him is nothing but a burden, but he does challenge Lyra to seize the day and ask for more from her simple life.

Strawberry Seafoam - The Delphic Academy teaches magic to young mermaids who hope to one day become powerful Delphiniums. Frasei is one such mermaid, eager to follow in her mother’s footsteps, and her life does not at all go according to plan. Dark forces begin to mobilize around the academy, and Frasei finds herself the only one able to combat them with her newfound unique ability to transform her tail.

Tyran Awakening - Zoe is an average teen living in the not too distant future. When she picks a fight with some bullies, however, something unbelievable happens. She survives certain death, and she begins to feel powerful. Almost like a dragon. Ancient forces are awakened, and the only one Zoe feels she can trust with all this is her friend (or maybe more) Marthe.

unOrdinary - It’s a given in this world that just about everyone has some kind of superpower. John Doe is a rare exception, having no ability at all yet somehow going to a school with a high premium on abilities. He firmly believes that might shouldn’t make right, but it’s only due to his high-tier friend Seraphina that he hasn’t been beaten to death several times over for ignoring the hierarchy in place. (Warning for repeated use of the word “cripple” to describe John’s lack of powers)
