Fallen for You Chapter 4
Summary:Fallen Simeon x gn!reader. You're starting to fall into domestic bliss with Simeon. But Life has other plans for you both.
CW: murder (minor characters), you know the drill by now, simmy is a suggestive lust demon
Chapters One Two Three Five Six
"Try the cloud biscuits. They're delicious."
You'd been having more and more of these nightmares. After the first time you'd dreamt of the man, he made an appearance in most of them from then on. It was always a nonchalant conversation, usually about the sweets on the table, but every time you woke up, you were sweating and nearly petrified.
You had no reason to be scared.
But his eyes…
The way he looked at you…
The only way you could describe it, was wrong.
He noticed you not touching the cloud biscuits, and laughed. He had a lyrical laugh, you'd give him that much. Sometimes, you were worried you'd get lost in it if you listened too closely.
"They aren't drugged. Very safe for humans. I made sure. Go on!" He gently said.
You hesitantly grabbed a biscuit and took a bite. It was sweet. Almost bitterly sweet. But you managed to put on a convincing smile, responding with, "It's good."
He clapped like a happy child. "I knew you'd like it!"
"Come back to me, little lamb," Simeon's voice whispered huskily, and you snapped awake.
Ever since he'd been ungrounded, he had decided that he would now live in the House of Lamentation. Did he ask permission? No. Did Lucifer prepare a room that was supposed to be for Simeon? Yes.
Did Simeon ever step foot in that room?
Not once.
Even though a brother or two and tried to curse your room to keep Simeon out of your bed, your pact, and Simeon's newly turned demon strength, rendered any curses nearly useless.
The brothers had been ecstatic when Luke had started showing up to sleep in your bed with the both of you. You didn't mind cuddling Luke, in fact you welcomed it, not truly feeling whole without him resting between the two of you.
Simeon was slightly less excited. But he could never say no to Luke. No matter how badly he wanted to send him back to purgatory hall so he could sleep with you in his arms, for once, instead of getting kicked by a child all night.
Simeon was pretty good at waking you up from the nightmares. But whenever you tried to tell him what they were about, it was like your mouth was full of cotton. He seemed concerned, but once he was certain you had calmed down, he would always get distracted by your presence, and the fact that your lips were not on his. So you both would forget the nightmares until he saved you from them the next night.
"What happened?" He always tried to ask anyway, even if it was a fruitless endeavor.
Once again, you couldn't get the words out of your mouth, so you just shook your head.
"I'm okay though, thanks love," You whispered.
He grinned, and leaned over the sleeping Luke between you for a kiss, only to be stopped by the little angel stretching and groaning.
"Morning," he hummed, a sleepy smile overtaking his face as he saw the people he loved the most looking down at him with expressions full of love.
"Morning, Luke, " you softly kissed his forehead, and giggled to yourself as you watched Simeon try to tamp down his rage.
"Morning Simeon," he smiled. "You ready to go to that bakery?"
Simeon had promised that he would take Luke to a bakery that had recently opened. Only if you agreed to go too. And with those two pairs of puppy dog eyes looking up at you, there was no way you could say no.
Apparently Simeon had no problem saying no. Because Beel was not allowed to come too, even though he had asked very nicely.
But that never deterred Beel, who was patiently waiting outside your door all night. And when the three of you opened it, Simeon immediately hissed.
"I'll pay for my own stuff, please just let me come with you!"
"Sure-" you began, while Luke nodded, interrupted by….
"Ssssssssssssssssssss!"
"Simmy," you tried to reprimand, but he turned to you, eyes nearly completely black.
"He can't come."
"Beel's safe, Simeon, it's okay," Luke smiled softly, trying to help.
Poor baby Luke didn't quite understand the situation, but he was too innocent to explain that it was a possessive thing, not a protection thing.
"I'll even sit at a separate table. I'm just so hungry."
You were grateful it was Beel having this conversation. He was empathetic about Simeon's lack of control over his instincts. Certain other brothers were not nearly as kind.
"Go with someone else," Simeon snarled. "They're mine."
"That's enough of the crap!" Mammon called from down the hall. The yelling must have woken him. "I was Y/N's first man, ya baby!"
You quickly covered Luke's eyes as Simeon sprang at Mammon, claws outstretched. Simeon may have the advantage of being a young demon, and thus having unbridled strength, but Mammon was the fourth strongest demon in the Devildom.
It wouldn't be a pretty fight, and you were too focused on protecting Luke to use your pact.
"I'll get Lucifer," Beel muttered, running down the hall. That made you panic. You weren't certain what would happen if Simeon was grounded again.
You quickly pushed Luke back into your room with an order to stay put, and ran towards the fight.
Neither was aiming to kill. That much was clear, at least compared to the fight with that other demon. This was a fight for dominance. And Simeon was losing.
A part of you figured you should let him lose. It would help him get some aggression out, but also hopefully make him chill out a bit.
Then again…Lucifer was on his way right now…and neither demon would be happy if they got caught.
"Sit!" You shouted, putting all your energy into the pacts, and both demons separated and sat, immediately yelling at you. With both of them overlapping over one another, you couldn't understand what they were saying, but you had a feeling that it wasn't nice.
"Shut up!" Silence. "Lucifer's coming, so get your shit together!"
"Ah! Simeon, just the demon I wanted to see!" You winced when you heard Diavolo's voice behind you. When you turned to look at him though, Beel wasn't with him.
"I can explain!" Mammon shouted.
"Nothing to explain. I need to see Simeon for something…unrelated."
You looked over at Simeon, expecting him to protest, but his face was empty.
"Alright," he said quietly. "Y/N?"
You shook yourself out of your shock, and released your hold on the pacts.
He quietly followed Diavolo, but paused to let Luke out.
"Beel's going to take you both to the bakery, okay?"
Then they both turned the corner and were gone.
….
"This is sunshine tea! I took the liberty of adding a few sugar cubes for you!" The man said, happily sipping his own tea.
You sipped it and held back a wince. A few sugar cubes? A few? How sweet was the tea originally?
"Do you like it?" You nodded and he clapped happily. "I knew you would! Tomorrow I'm going to get you some cookies to try."
Was it possible to get cavities from a dream?
"So tell me," he hummed as he sipped his tea. "How is Simeon doing?"
You choked on your tea. He waited patiently for you to stop coughing, simply smiling at you.
"How do you know Simeon?" This was just a dream. Why were you scared that dream man knew Simeon?
"We're old friends. Practically brothers. I worry about him, so I was hoping you could tell me how he is."
"Oh, um, he's good."
He raised an eyebrow, begging you to continue.
"He's…he's still learning how to be a demon. Oh! I don't know if you know, but he's a demon now."
"And how long did it take for him to seek you out?" His smile was still present, but the look in his eyes was bitter.
"Oh, uh, I don't know. I didn't know he was even there for a little bit."
"Oh?"
"No one told me."
"That must have hurt. Not knowing where he was. Not hearing from him."
Normally, Simeon would be waking you up around now.
"Yeah. But when I saw him before he fell, I kind of thought I was never going to see him again anyway."
"Really?" The bitter look in his eye turned to confusion. He leaned forward in his chair studying you.
"And why is that?"
"Our last meeting…before…well…before it happened, he was acting weird."
"I just came to say goodbye."
"Oh! Have a safe-"
"I don't know when I'll be back. So take care of Luke for me."
You remembered the embrace he gave you, far longer than any touch the two of you had ever shared. You remember the look of despair in his eyes as he cupped your cheek. The tremble in his fingers as he fought with himself to pull away from you.
He'd never touched you before.
"I'm confused," you interrupted your own memory. "Normally I wake up by now."
The man laughed, jovially, and grinned. "Perhaps you enjoy my company as much as I enjoy yours. But if it's distressing you that much."
You snapped up in bed, sweating profusely. You reached out to Someone, but noticed he wasn't there. You checked the time on your DDD. 3 am. What was he still doing at Diavolo's? If he was getting a lecture, it should have ended ages ago.
You shot him a text. He read it. But didn't respond.
You thought about going over there yourself, but Luke was sleeping so peacefully, and you didn't want to wake him.
So you played on your DDD until breakfast. Simeon's seat was clearly vacant. As was Lucifer's.
It was halfway through Breakfast when the door slammed open, and Simeon burst in, he pressed a kiss to your cheek, but after he had grabbed some food, he left again.
Another day, and no Simeon. You and Luke went to bed without him again. And Asmodeus decided to take advantage and join your cuddle crew.
….
As promised, there were cookies on the table this evening.
"You seem more distressed than usual," the man hummed as he nibbled on a cookie.
"It's nothing."
"Did Simeon do something?"
You stiffened, biting into a far too sweet cookie.
He laughed. "What did he do?"
"Nothing. I just didn't really get to see him today."
"Really? Is he in trouble again?"
"I don't know," you trailed off, nervously chewing your cookie.
"Well I hope you figure that out soon. I can see how not knowing would be distressing."
It felt like hours and hours of idle small talk before you woke up.
….
A week. A week of nightmares with no Simeon to save you from them. A week of hastily muttered sorry's as he rushed for food then left. A week, where slowly all the brothers joined the meeting, and you and Luke were left alone in the House of Lamentation.
The man in your dreams had asked you.
Why did Someone fall?
The way he asked said he already knew the answer. The thing was. You didn't know the answer. And it was the cornerstone of your pact. The longer it went without being brought to completion, the weaker it would grow.
Which scared you. Especially having barely seen him, it brought to mind how fragile your connection truly was right now.
You snapped up from another nightmare. He'd asked again why he fell. You told him the truth, that Simeon had said it was because of you. And the man seemed happy with that answer.
But you weren't.
Simeon must have slipped in in the middle of the night, because he was sleeping heavily in his usual spot. Belphie, who had been in that spot, was on the floor.
You should let him rest. It had been a week of continuous stress for him, from what you could tell. But you had to know.
You ran your hand gently through his hair.
"Simeon," you whispered, not wanting to wake Luke and Belphie.
He grunted, but slowly opened his eyes, his expression taking on a sleepy grin. He yanked you over to him in a way that didn't wake Luke, and allowed you to land on top of him.
"Hey pretty lamb. I missed you," he purred, pressing you closer to him, and moving to kiss and bite along your neck.
"Simeon."
"Whatever it is, it can wait, I need to just love you right now."
"Simeon, why did you fall?"
He froze, removing his face from your neck, and staring into your scared eyes.
He sighed. "Let's go somewhere else."
You were both silent until you arrived in the empty planetarium.
"It's a bit of a story," he said after a bit. "You remember the last conversation we had before I fell?"
You nodded. You'd never forget the pain you felt thinking you'd never see him again.
"I…I had received an official summons from Michael. I thought that he knew."
He stopped, biting his bottom lip as though the thought still terrified him.
"Knew what?"
"Knew that I loved you," he whispered. "I fought against the feelings so hard, but I failed and fell for you anyway. Not that I regret it!" He assured, quickly. "But at the time, I wasn't sure what he would do. Would I fall? Or would he forgo that altogether and just kill me? I know a lot that most don't about the politics of the Celestial Realm. It would have been far easier to kill me. Which is why I said goodbye."
He frowned. "But it was a tea party. And I was slowly lured into complacency. Until…"
"What do you have to report from the Devildom?" Michael asked, dunking a cookie daintily into a cup of tea.
"Diavolo is planning to host another three worlds festival," Simeon answered, smiling softly as Michael enjoyed the cookies he'd brought back with him. It was nice to see some things never changed.
"Anything else?"
"Not that I can think of. For once the Devildom is pretty relaxed. Partially because Y/N has decided to extend their stay for a while. Probably per Barbatos' request. He knows full well what the brothers get up to without them," he giggled, but cut himself off when he saw Michael sigh sadly. Usually he was ecstatic to hear anything about their ex brothers. This was odd.
"Simeon, there's something you need to be told. You should have been told ages ago, but your heart is so soft. I didn't want to ruin your happiness."
A trio of angels entered the room, dressed in full armor, Raphael standing at the front of them, spear held tightly in his hand. Simeon stiffened.
He'd made it this far into the visit, and had gotten nothing from Michael. And now Raphael was here? Did he know? You didn't even know! How could he possibly know he'd fallen for you?
No, there must be something else going on. He was far too good at hiding his emotions. Far too good.
"We are going to war, Simeon," Michael said calmly, reaching out for Simeon's hand to gently hold.
"With who?" He laughed nervously. It wasn't about him. Thank his father for that.
"The Devildom. And the human realm. We are going to invade and reshape the worlds into our image."
"But," Simeon froze, horror creeping through his veins, "we're at peace. And father has been in full support of the exchange program, and improving our relations."
"Father is…otherwise occupied. However, this whole thing hinges on you, Simeon. Our secret weapon, who has gained the trust of everyone."
Simeon didn't want to hear whatever Michael was about to say. But at the same time, he had to hear it.
Michael held out his hand to Raphael, who placed a dagger into it. The blade looked like it was a galaxy that had been forged into a weapon. Beautiful to look at.
But no doubt lethal.
Michael wrapped Simeon's fingers directly around the hilt.
"Our ex brothers have never been stronger. And they, in turn, are the Devildom's strength. We need to cut Sampson's hair, so to speak. We need to remove the source of their strength.
Don't say it, Simeon thought. Please don't say it.
"I need you to kill Y/N L/N."
The dagger clattered from his hand, and Simeon bolted up from his seat.
"No, no, I am sworn to protect and defend humans. I can't do that. It is against my oath as an angel."
Michael smiled sadly. "I was worried you would say that. Your heart is too pure, Simeon. One human's life, in exchange for the purification of billions. It's more than a fair trade."
"I can't," Simeon whispered.
"I know. But I thought you would be the kindest to them in their final moments. Raphael."
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Raphael reach for the dagger lying on the table, and something in Simeon snapped.
He couldn't let you die.
He couldn't let them kill you.
And if it meant he'd have to do the unthinkable.
He'd do it.
In all honesty, he blacked out in the moment. But it didn't take a genius to know that the bloody dagger that was buried in a dying Raphael's chest had to have been put there by someone. Someone whose hands were covered in blood, and whose eyes were cold and unfeeling as they watched the last of the life fade from an old acquaintance's eyes.
Everyone in the room, including himself, was shocked. But the two soldiers who'd come with Raphael quickly snapped out of it, into action, swinging their spears in his direction.
He yanked the blade from Raphael's chest, and quickly disarmed the first soldier, slicing across his stomach, and grabbing his spear to finish off the second soldier.
Then there was silence. Silence and burning. He didn't think he was injured, but he must have been. Somewhere was burning. He just couldn't figure out where.
He looked over at Michael, who sighed, daintily wiping his mouth, before standing and making his blade materialize.
"I have overlooked your sins. I've ignored the impure thoughts you have about that human. I've ignored you slowly leading Luke on a path that strays from the Celestial Realm. I ignore the work you don't do, the earthly ties you put down. But this?" He gestured at the dead around them. "I cannot ignore this."
Simeon was fighting to stay upright now. The burning, oh father, he must have caught fire. He fell to his knees with a cry of pain, unable to escape as Michael walked closer to him.
He raised his sword, preparing to drive it through his heart, when the ground beneath him vanished.
That's when Simeon realized he wasn't burning.
He was falling.
"War," you whispered. You didn't know you were shaking until you felt Simeon wrap his arms around you. You stiffened before you relaxed in his hold.
"I would have told you the truth sooner if I remembered. But there was so much stimulation with my new demonic abilities, all I could think of was you and your face, and your smell, and your soul that just is so appetizing. It wasn't until the halfway point through my stay in the attic that I was able to verbalize to Diavolo about what happened, and even then it wasn't that long ago I could clearly give him all the details. But Michael is starting to move forward now. His soldiers are starting to leave the Celestial Realm."
"That's why you've been busy all week."
You felt him nod.
"Simeon, what does Michael look like?"
….
"It's not often I see you twice in one night. Did you finally cure your insomnia?" The man hummed, offering you something that looked like hot chocolate.
"Go on, try it! I love to hear what you think about our food!"
Your stomach churned nervously, but you drank it down.
"Michael." It wasn't a question. It was an accusation.
The man grinned.

if simeon was written by me i would give him proper time to delve into his guilt and desire to leave the celestial realm. by that i mean i would have multiple scenes of him sitting in silence thinking "i want to leave the celestial realm so badly that place is awful and why did i not fall back then-" until he learns that the brothers fucked up and awakened some ancient curse that'll destroy the devildom unless they collect all the [maguffins] in the [place] by [the time] and he thinks "ok. maybe heaven isn't so bad"
#remember that scene in nightbringer where raphael was so done with michael impersonating him he thought#“maybe i should've fallen with lucifer and the others. fml”#peak honestly#from me#obey me#obey me simeon#simeon#rambles

the fallen angel, freed.
Genre/Tropes: No notable ones!!
Summary: if loving them is a sin, he'd damn himself a billion times over.
Author's Comments: this is me writing about the parallels between simeon and lilith. you'll see.
~~~~~
When Lucifer fell from the Celestial Realm, he went down with a bang. His glorious white wings were a sight to behold as they carried him through the battlefield, leading his brothers into battle as they fought for the life of their sister. The very life that the angels wanted to extinguish. Creatures known for their kindness and virtue and mercy, trying so hard to take the life of one of their own. Simeon doesn’t think he’s ever seen something so ghastly.
While Simeon did not take a side, he still treasures Lucifer greatly, and admires Michael much the same way. It doesn’t matter to him that Lucifer is a demon now, or that he has sworn loyalty to Diavolo. He would have done the same if he had a sister that went through what Lilith did. Whether what happened to her was fair or not, he cannot say, because he is part of a world that values purity above all else (at what cost?) and hasn’t changed that in centuries.
In a morbid way, Simeon cannot blame Diavolo for saying Lucifer looked stunning. Lucifer was a fearsome foe, but no matter how beautiful he was, Simeon never wanted to view him as an enemy. He’s one of the few angels that doesn’t view the demons as enemies—He knows Luke has questions about the decision Michael has made, and he knows that the young angel will eventually leave the nest and form opinions beyond what the Celestial realm has taught him. That’s the reason Simeon offered to participate in the exchange program with him. He won’t be around forever, though he thought he’d have a few more years.
Here he stands, in front of Michael. His posture is straight, but his arms are relaxed. There is no use denying the inevitable, and the expression on the other angel’s face is a clear indication that he cannot escape this fate.
Simeon.” Michael says, voice regretfully and full of sorrow. Simeon is glad Luke doesn’t have to see this.
“Michael.” Simeon gives him an easy smile, like they’re talking over afternoon tea and not his fall from grace, “What is your verdict? I heard you’ve been discussing this with the other seraphim.”
“You know what’s going to happen.” he frowns, brow furrowing. Simeon continues to smile, “The fact is, you fell in love with a human. That human suffered a grave injury at the hands of a demon, and you gave them fruit from the Celestial Realm. You altered their lifespan. That’s strictly forbidden. You know this.”
Simeon says nothing. There’s nothing to say. He did, he fell in love with them, one of the human exchange students that attended RAD for some time. He cares about them in ways that tear him apart inside, He’s aware he’s repeating history. Simeon is painfully aware of everything he has done that led him up to this point, and yet he doesn’t regret a single thing.
If loving them is a sin, he'd damn himself a billion times over.
Is this what Lucifer felt in his final moments as an angel?
“You’re the last angel I expected to fall.” Michael says, his words slow and face full of regret, “I want to understand—why have both you and Lilith taken fruit from our Realm? That’s not virtuous, nor is it acceptable. We are not supposed to interfere, for what are we without our virtues?”
Nothing, Simeon thinks, Angels are nothing if they are not completely free of sin.
Their virtues make them who they are.
They may as well stab the spear that Raphael wielded in the Great Celestial War through his heart. Simeon thinks that would hurt less.
How many angels have to fall for Heaven to change?
Michael notices his silence and says nothing in return. (It's odd to see Michael being so stern towards him, but he's talked to Simeon like this before. It's his disciplining voice, and that almost makes him chuckle. Almost.) They both know what has to happen for the Celestial Realm to continue down the path it’s set forth for its angels. They both know where Simeon is going now. They both know his new place is in the Devildom, where demons are.
But all demons are not the same. Simeon knows this all too well, but it’s not as though the other higher-rank angels (aside from Michael and Raphael, who admire Lucifer greatly) would know anything about that. He always wishes he could have taken all of them down to the Devildom with him, to see how hard-working Lucifer still is and how strong Mammon has become and how dedicated Leviathan is and how they have a new brother, Satan, and he’s one of the kindest souls Simeon has ever seen and how Asmodeus has amassed more fans than ever and how Beelzebub has grown into the protector his brother need to most and how Belphegor...Belphegor...
And how they ruined Belphegor. How the joy in that demon’s eyes had faded before the exchange student came, and how the fascination he had with humans that had been shunned by the angels had been fully embraced by the human and Diavolo.
Diavolo. The demon that rules his subjects fairly and always listens to even the lowest demons. The demon whose admiration of Lucifer rivals even Michael. The demon who welcomed him and Luke with open arms and helped them adjust to their new home for the next year. His butler, Barbatos, who nobody really noticed but had convinced Luke that not all demons were terrible within a few baking lessons. Barbatos, the demon that had gone to supermarkets and little excursions with him on many occasions and had proved to have better manners than a lot of the angels did.
Bitter. Simeon was feeling bitter. How foreign of a feeling this was!
Perhaps he was already falling.
Michael is staring, and it's only then that Simeon realizes he said nothing in response to his speech about virtues. Is there anything virtuous about violence against an innocent family of brothers?
“We won’t kill you.” he whispers, eyes full of a deep regret that Simeon knows is about the brothers and Lilith, “I will never...obliterate an angel again. I regretted it...the last time. But I still have to punish you somehow. I still have to act with authority. I’m sorry. You will fall, Simeon. I only hope Diavolo has mercy on you.”
Now that his fall is inevitable, he feels the doubts that have built up over the years slipping free from his mind, and he clutches them to his chest like precious jewels. Heaven has abandoned him, and he will live without the eyes of grace upon him for all eternity.
And so he stands when Michael stands. He follows him, and the second he steps out into the radiance of his home, he hears the sound of Luke calling out to him. He cannot stop his head from whipping towards the noise, only to see the small boy standing beside none other than Raphael. The angel he’s so close with betrays nothing in his expression, but Luke—sweet, naive Luke—is crying harder than Simeon has ever seen him cry. The young boy is screaming at him not to leave, to stay up in the Celestial Realm with him (even though Simeon is helpless) because Simeon is his family and he doesn’t know what he will do without him.
Simeon breaks, his brow furrowing in misery as a stab of regret pierces his heart, and he rushes over to Luke with his wings flared out behind him. Raphael holds his spear as though he'll never let it go again as he points it warningly at Simeon, but Simeon doesn't even care as he scoops Luke up in his arms and holds the crying boy.
The young shouldn’t have to see such a display. Luke has been through too much already.
And so Simeon holds him. He shushes Luke softly as the boy grabs at his back, fat tears hitting his shoulder like stones.
“You’ll be okay, Luke. You can come visit me.” Simeon soothes, trying to reassure the angel before he, too, starts a rebellion against the higher powers, “I won’t be gone forever. Just...away. Shh, shhhh...it’s okay. You’re strong now, you don’t need me anymore.”
“But I do!” Luke cries, squeezing him so tightly that Simeon almost believes Luke can protect him from this fate, “I have no one else to turn to if you aren’t here-”
“Brother.” Raphael says, voice as deadpan as always, “Michael is waiting.”
Simeon sucks in a shuddering breath and sends one last smile Luke’s way. It’s like a token, a trinket for those nights when Luke has nightmares and can’t run to Simeon’s room anymore. It’s the comforting warmth that will replace the hot chocolate they used to make together when they had trouble sleeping, and a final smile in the series of smiles they have shared before.
Luke does not smile back, and he is still crying.
The next few moments are a blur of light and clouds. He sees his clothes turning completely black, his wings enduring searing pain. He tastes blood and bile and hears the screams of the fallen angels before him as he pullets to the earth. They’re so loud, too loud, and Simeon wishes they would stop and leave him in peace, but the clouds are closing and sealing shut and the light has disappeared entirely.
In the darkness, he sees them, and that’s all the light he needs.
Simeon closes his eyes, and he bears it.
He falls and falls and falls before dirt catches him, the slam of his body on the hard ground sending a shockwave through his bones. He doesn’t get up, he doesn’t even twitch. He does, however, open his eyes and stare into a familiar blackened sky.
“My, my. It seems you’ve found yourself in a predicament.” a familiar voice hums, a soft chuckle soon following.
Simeon opens his mouth to speak, but his throat feels dry and cracked. It feels like he hasn’t drank anything in months.
Barbatos reaches out to him, helping the fallen angel on his side. Simeon’s body screams at him to stay down, for him to stop moving, but he can't listen to it. He needs to get up.
“Do not push yourself too hard. The Young Master has already been informed of this matter and is taking the necessary steps to ensure that you're well taken care of.” Barbatos reassures him, the gentle smile on his face telling Simeon he knew all of this would happen, “Though, unfortunately I must admit that you will be another fallen angel that Michael regrets. However, beings in power do what they must, and they do what is right.”
“Barbatos...” Simeon winces, clutching his side as slick blood gathers on his gloves.
“Don’t speak. Conserve your energy.” he smiles, “I have called MC over, and they shall be arriving shortly. You are their hero, after all.”
Right. The reason he did what he did.
Blood on the floor of RAD. A demon holding them by the throat. Filthy, sharp nails digging into their skin. The images blur together because he doesn’t want to remember, it was so horrible and gory and he doesn’t know how they survived that.
It was probably only thanks to him.
“Do you think...it was worth it?” Simeon asks, a bitter laugh escaping his throat.
“You are to be the judge of that. I cannot say either way.” Barbatos replies, the response so serious it almost makes him laugh more.
If it wasn’t for the pain he feels all over, he might have.
He sits with Barbatos in silence, feeling and feeling as his abrasions and changes take hold of him. He doesn’t know how much longer he can do this, he’s sure he’s going to die here and now and nobody can save him, and he’ll never see them or Luke again, and-
“Simeon?” a gentle voice calls, a familiar figure running towards him as Barbatos steps out of the way.
A wretched gasp escapes his throat as the exchange student comes into view, their brow furrowed with worry and lips parted as they pant. They must have run here as soon as Barbatos told them what was going on, and the warmth he feels at the sight of the human he saved pushes out most of the pain. It’s like his arms have a mind of their own because they reach for the human despite the creaking of his bones and the screaming of his muscles.
They reach him before he does.
They crush him against their chest in an embrace that feels like the warmth of the sun on his back, and all the breath in Simeon’s lungs vanishes in an instant. his mouth hangs open as they sob into his hair, stroking his head like he’s something precious, like they’re so glad he’s okay. He uses the last of his strength to wrap his arms around them, straining the muscle as they cry that they were so worried and how he shouldn’t have done something like that if it meant falling from grace and that they aren’t that important and he shouldn’t have risked it and oh, he’s such an idiot but they love him anyways, they loved him when he was an angel and they'll love him now, regardless of what he’s done or what his fate is or what form he’s taken because he’s Simeon and Simeon is the only one they want.
He hears all of this and begs his mind to come up with something to say, something poetic and romantic that he can normally put into writing so easily, just to thank them for the kindness they've always displayed towards him, but he comes up empty.
So he quiets their sobs with a kiss. He kisses them with tears rolling down his face, he kisses them with his tattered wings and abandoned soul, he kisses them like that soul belongs to them because it does, even though it's been trampled and dirtied and destroyed.
They kiss him back.
And under the vacant, darkened sky with his torn wings and blackened soul, he falls all over again.
This was a patreon request from Dove Wing: “Hello, could I request a yandere fallen guardian angel Simeon for my March request? I think the idea of him falling due to his obsession of the person he was assigned to protect would be an interesting concept to play around with”
Yandere fallen angel Simeon with GN-Reader SFW
Before The Fall
He was recovering from the death of his last human. They were a lovely woman with a heart of gold however their life came to a quick and tragic end. Taken by their own lover. As much as Simeon tried to protect them, even guardian angels have their limits in incorporeal forms.
He was overtaken by guilt for years, a horrible knowing guilt like the loss of a good friend or even a child. It was heavy on his soul and his other kin worried for him. They did everything they could to cheer him up from distracting him, to trying to talk to him about it, and even celebrating their life. But Simeon only blamed himself.
It wasn’t until Micheal sat down with him and chatted for a few hours, every angel in the area was trying to listen but they were shooed away. When Simeon came back out people whispered carefully asking what happened and if he was alright.
He was given a new human to look over. And he forced a smile to let everyone know he was okay, even if he was still heavy with the weight of his last human on his shoulders. The word spread fast and everyone gave him well wishes and even had a party with all of the foods he loves. But when he saw his reflection in the glass he couldn’t stand it, his stomach churned.
Watching Over You
You were fairly old when he arrived. Normally angels are assigned at birth but your last angel had started a family and was sent back. So here you were as an adult, though still fairly young around twenty or so. He was apprehensive at first, not wanting to get too close in fear of losing someone else again but it was a herculean task.
He always gets attached, it’s in his nature as a heavenly being to love and care for you no matter what, to adore and want nothing but the best for you. But the more devoted to you he got, the more worried he became.
Still, he focused on his duties, gently shooing away bad luck, making sure worldly objects just barely miss you. A humble way to spend his days with you but the way you smile, as if you know he’s watching over you makes his heart skip a beat.
But it’s a few years in when you are met with hardships that he cannot gently sweep away. A bad partner, a financial crisis, or maybe even an unexpected disaster that leaves you stuck without a home. He weeps for you. Weeps deeply and curses his own nature for not being able to help.
A Deep Dark Fall
He watches your situation get worse and worse and how none of your fellow man help, how some even give you judgmental glances. But they don’t know you, how can humanity be so cruel? He finds himself putting at his own feathers.
The way your smile has faded wounds him, and every time you sob it feels like the knife of mankind is driven deeper and deeper. He remembers his last human and despair sinks in.
It gets worse the more you suffer alone. Every time you cry, he reaches out but his hands cannot hold you, he tries to tell you he’s here with you, but you cannot hear. He starts to question why he’s not allowed to comfort you, to make sure you’re truly safe. Whats the point of a guardian angel if he can’t help you in ways that matter?
He starts to curse the heavens above, questioning every that has come before and laughing at tradition as he weeps with you. He doesn’t even care as his feathers molt turning a necrotic black and falling off in patches. But he doesn’t care, what good are they if he can’t even hold you? Can’t use them to help.
He makes a discovery when his wings are half rotten and no white feathers remain he can finally tug the blankets over his body to cover his freezing feet he’s overcome with twisted joy. He’s falling, but he’s finally able to care for you in ways that matter. He happily lets the corruption overtake him, ripping out the rest of his own feathers and he weeps with joy. He’ll finally be able to hold you, love you like your own kind never did, to show you true love.
It’s only when his wings are finally bone, do they fall off. But he laughs through the pain as he can finally feel just how cold the place you sleep is.
Finally Holding You
He takes you into his arms, yanking you as he laughs out tears and feels just how warm you are despite the freezing surroundings. He doesn’t even hear you as you yelp and cry out. He has you. He’s finally holding you.
But it’s when you violently twist and squirm in his loving arms does he see your horrified face. He doesn’t know why you’re looking at him with such horror but he joyously explains what he’s gone through to keep you safe, and now that he is finally tangible in the mortal world he can be with you. Help you, hold your hand through these hard times and lead you to a much happier life.
He still doesn’t understand why you're scared, why you're freaking out. Do you not believe him? He says every little personal detail of your life and explains how he was there watching over you. But when he sees the horror in your eyes he can only tilt his head. Please don’t be afraid, he’s only trying to love you like he was meant to.
He’ll watch over you, even if you don’t understand now. He takes you away from this cold and miserable place. Even if your kicking and screaming. He’ll just cover your mouth and whisper that it will be okay. He’s finally here. He’ll finally do something worthwhile, and he’ll make sure nothing can hurt you ever again.
Sociopath Traveler (Part 1)
The first Octopath Traveler game released in 2018 provided a lot of sociopaths on its own, enough to make a list in and of itself. The eight travelers have to come across plenty of antagonists, and these ones showed the most antisocial traits.
To see analyses on each of them (when they come out), click here for the main list. (They may not be done when you're reading this.)
Fallen for You Chapter Five
Summary: Simeon x gn!reader You confront Michael.
A/N: I realized that I never have mentioned this before but, if you need an idea of what Michael could look like, ever since I saw this art by @stulili , I've imagined him to look like this.
Chapters: One Two Three Four Six
“Michael.”
The man grinned. He stood up from his chair, moving around the table and summoning various things.
“How do you like your tea, Y/N?” He asked.
“Is that your answer?”
“You're a smart human. Far too smart to even be asking me that question,” he hummed, summoning a spoon, and stirring an ungodly amount of sugar into a teacup. He walked over to you, handing you the tea. He stared expectantly, and with a glare you took a sip.
Far too sweet, as always. But now that you knew who it was, that matched what you had been told about Michael.
“Why do you want to invade the human realm and the Devildom? Why did you want Simeon to kill me? And if you want me dead, why are you visiting me every night?” You spat out all the questions.
He sighed heavily, returning to his seat.
“It's not that I want you dead. Your unique lineage and abilities would make you quite the asset. But with your power flowing through the brothers, and your loyalty to them, unity will never be possible. But, I assure you, it is no longer an issue,” he smiled sweetly, and took a sip of his own tea. He stared at your cup, and you begrudgingly took another sip.
“Why Simeon? Based on what he said, a part of you had to have known-”
“Simeon was straying from the Celestial Realm long before he fell. I was giving him a chance. If he could do what he needed to, I would have found a way to save you for him. You'd have been the Isaac to his Abraham.”
You stared. He seemed to be avoiding your other questions, but he had floored you with this one. How did he intend to save you, after forming a specialized weapon just for your murder? This man…angel…he couldn't be all sane! To talk about sacrifices and invasions with a smile on his face…that couldn't be right?
“You ignored my biggest question. Why invasion?”
“I ignored one other question. Why do I visit you every night?” He hummed. “And that one seems more prevalent right now.”
He waved his hand, and suddenly a mirror appeared in front of you, displaying-
“Oh my God!”
“Language, ha ha!”
In the image was you, out cold, as Simeon seemed to be trying to shake you awake. Over his shoulder was Luke and Lucifer, the latter holding the former back as he tried to run at you, his eyes filled with tears.
“What, what?” You choked out. “I don't understand!”
“Hmm,” Michael hummed, but when you looked over at him, he was simply smiling mischievously.
You looked back in the mirror, just in time to see Luke break away, and throw his arms around you. In the dream Celestial Realm, you began to glow.
“Aw, what a shame,” Michael pouted. “Word of warning, next time, even Luke won't be able to wake you up.”
….
You weren't able to figure out how long you'd been asleep. But when you'd woken up, Simeon was absolutely feral, barking at the brothers in a language you didn't recognize. When Luke had tried to calm him down, he'd dragged him into his hold as well, one of you under each of his arms, both of you no match for his raw strength.
When Solomon had arrived to give you a check up, you'd had to use ‘stay’ on Simeon. Even then, as he was frozen in place, he was shouting in the unknown language, fighting his hardest to escape your hold.
Solomon followed your eyes with a flashlight.
“You,” he began , but sighed. “You seem fine. But you didn't wake up until Luke touched you. And that's bad.”
“No, really?” You snarked. Solomon glared at you.
“Don't be snippy with me. I obviously don't have all the information, now do I?” He snapped. Simeon spoke again, and Solomon sighed, before responding. Whatever he said only seemed to upset Simeon more, and you winced as he growled.
“I saw Michael!” You shouted.
“Michael?” Luke asked, eyes wide. “What did he say?”
You looked at the little angel, his eyes wide with hope. As though whatever Michael had to say would have made this better.
“Luke, you woke me up, right?” You tried to change the subject, at least while he was here.
“All I did was touch you,” he said, confused by the shift.
“Yes!” Solomon cried, a seeming Eureka moment having arrived.
“That's something I've wanted to discuss, actually. Luke, touch Simeon's pact mark please.”
You rotated, lifting up the back of your shirt. Luke touched it, and, just as before, you felt a rush of power surge through you as the mark glowed.
“It's like when Simeon made his pact, he unintentionally left a space for Luke. Luke is part of your little family, so he's always welcome to access Simeon and your bond. it's essentially a two for one, but for all three of you in various ways,” Solomon grinned. “Perhaps with time, and your active participation, Y/N, he may even be able to use your pact on Simeon.”
“I would never do that!” Luke cried. You looked over at Simeon, who seemed to calm down enough to look at Luke with a gaze of overwhelming affection.
“Don’t worry about that, Luke, at least not right now. It's because of that that you were able to wake me up,” you said softly.
“But if you were talking to Michael,” he muttered.
“Uh, yeah, well,” you began, not really wanting to ruin the young angel’s view of one of his heroes.
“Michael told me to murder Y/N,” Simeon spat, in full English.
You stiffened. Both Luke and Solomon turned to Simeon in complete confusion, and total horror.
“He wouldn't!” Luke cried, his eyes filling with tears.
“Luke,” you reached out, attempting to calm the baby down.
“He would. And when I said no, Raphael said yes,” Simeon snapped.
“But-”
“Luke, he wants Y/N dead. It's hard to hear, but they wouldn't have woken up if you hadn't been there.”
“Simeon,” Solomon warned, quietly.
“He should know! He should know that someone he has shown nothing but love for wants to tear his family apart!” Simeon shouted. Luke broke into a sob, running out of the room.
“Simeon, this is not the time,” Solomon said firmly.
“I'll go talk to him,” you sighed, standing up.
“Don't you dare leave me! I can't protect you if-”
“I gotta calm down our son! You fill Solomon in, while I'm gone,” you snapped, putting an order into it, and went to go find Luke, Simeon’s angry shouts following close behind.
He needed to calm down, anyway. At this rate he was bound to accidentally hurt someone.
You found Luke in the kitchen, sitting at the counter, his head in his arms as he cried quietly.
“Luke?” You whispered.
“Why would he do that?” He whimpered. “Why would he want to hurt you? He knows how much I love you!”
He looked up from his arms, and you found yourself staggering back as you stared into a pair of black empty eyes. Seconds later, they had flickered back, leaving Luke looking very confused.
“Y/N?”
“I…I don't know,” you said, walking over to him, and wrapping Luke in a hug. You did know. But it was the last thing you wanted to tell him. He didn't need one more thing to be upset about.
Luke sobbed against your chest, wrapping his arms tightly around you.
“Is it something I did? I'm always talking about you, maybe it's my fault-”
“No, baby, it's not your fault. Grownups are just,” you sighed, “complicated.”
As he sobbed against you, you were starting to feel…drowsy. You jolted yourself up, Michael's final warning replaying in your head.
But the jolt did not go unnoticed.
“Y/N?”
“Sorry Luke, I, um, I just realized how hungry I am.”
“I'll make you something!” He shouted, scurrying off the chair, and moving around the kitchen with new found energy. You almost stopped him, but the thought of cooking for you perked him up. So you decided to just watch him.
Despite this not being his home kitchen, he seemed to be perfectly at home. And in no time at all, he had placed a slice of Celestial Realm bread on a plate before you.
“There,” he said proudly, ignoring the dried tears on his face as he smiled sweetly.
You bit into it. It was good. Of course it was! Everything Michael had given you was too sweet, but Luke…Luke knew how to bake for a normal palate.
You and Luke sat quietly together, munching on the bread.
“Ooh, can I get some of that for Beel?” You heard Belphie behind you.
“No! This is for Y/N, not stinky demons!” Luke pouted.
You giggled. The scene was so normal. Belphie pouting to you about Luke, Luke pouting to you about Belphie, Beel sneaking in the back and consuming the entire loaf of bread while no one was looking. It put a little joy in your heart.
You nibbled some more bread. There was Mammon, looking to see what the fuss was about, and seeing if he could profit from it. You giggled to yourself. It was so normal.
The piece of bread fell out of your hand, and it was only then you realized something was wrong. But you couldn't seem to alert the others.
Your lower back was burning, and you couldn't move. Other spots on your body were tingling. With a nauseous roll to your stomach, you realized it was the spots where your pact marks were.
You heard a boom, and saw a flash, and Simeon was in front of you, grabbing your shoulders, shouting, but you couldn't hear what he was saying. Other faces swam into your vision, all of them full of distress, and you felt yourself falling backwards into the void.
….
Your pact mark had grown weaker. He had thought you'd released him, and so he'd immediately sought you out. It had taken less than a glance to realize you were not okay. As your eyes rolled into the back of your head, he began to panic. Your body fell through his hands, fading in and out, as though you weren't entirely here anymore.
“No! You can't do this to me!” He screamed, reaching for you, his hands going through you. “After all we've been through! You can't leave me!”
He'd thought he was emotional earlier. Now he was filled with despair; an ache that was far worse than any anger or longing he'd ever felt for you.
His pact…
“What in Diavolo's name is going on?” Lucifer boomed in the kitchen.
“I'm gonna be sick,” Belphie muttered, sitting on the ground.
“What's happening? Why are you all sick? And why am I all itchy?” Mammon shouted.
His pact…it…
Lucifer reached for you, undeterred by Simeon's possessive growl, his hand phasing through you.
“Simeon,” he whispered. “You were the last one to forge a pact. How do you feel?”
Simeon looked at Lucifer, his entire body burning, not just in rage, but in loneliness, and deep loss, he opened his mouth…
And released an unholy scream of pain.
….
You felt a glass being pressed to your lips. You gratefully sipped it, your throat burning. You nearly spit it out. It wasn't water. It was…juice?
You opened your eyes, and jolted. Michael was smiling at you kindly. You wanted to sit up, but found that you couldn't move.
“Shh, it's okay. It's almost over, you'll be able to move in a few more minutes.”
He set down the cup, unbuttoning the first few buttons on your shirt, reaching to the spot above your heart. The spot where Mammon's pact was.
“This was your first pact, right?”
You groaned in response, still unable to get out a word.
“Almost done,” he whispered, gently stroking the spot. Normally, if you or anyone else touched the pact mark, you'd feel a little zing through you. You currently felt nothing.
Suddenly, your stomach began to tie itself in knots. What was almost done? What was he doing?
“There we go. All done,” he smiled softly, giving you an affectionate peck to the forehead, no doubt in an attempt to soothe you. He pulled his hand out again, buttoning the buttons of your shirt back up. Finally able to move, you grabbed his wrist.
“What's happening to me?” You croaked, throat still very dry.
“Think of it as a fresh start,” he said with a proud laugh. “Enough Celestial Realm food, with the right blessings on it, will purify just about anything.”
Now that the feeling was returning to your body, you felt a deep sense of loss. An aching hole. You experimentally tried to reach into your power stores, and instead of the beautiful chaos you normally felt, your power was what could only be described as a pure line of electricity. Still powerful, but foreign. And lonely. So lonely.
“Simeon?” You whimpered, trying to call on something that was no longer there.
Michael gave you a sympathetic look.
“Y/N-”
“Simeon!” You cried.
“You'll get used to it. You should have never had to make those pacts in the first place.”
You sobbed.
Michael wrapped his arms around you, whispering affirmations. You struggled against him, but soon you realized you were no match. Not in this state.
So you just sobbed against him. After what could have been hours, you heard someone clear their throat.
You looked over Michael's shoulder, and saw an angel you'd never met before, in full armor.
“We're ready, sir. It's time.”
Michael gently released you, and stood up.
“Understood,” he smiled at you. “You'll thank me later. Get some rest, I'll be back soon.”
Before you could get up the energy to claw their eyes out, they both vanished, leaving you alone.
….
“Luke, stay with us,” Solomon and Asmo sat in front of the boy as he also seemed to be phasing in and out, his eyes flickering back and forth between black void and bleeding blue.
Asmo felt like shit. But having a secondary pact meant that he was doing better than all of his brothers.
And yet, Luke seemed to be doing the worst. His small frame was shivering, and he'd yet to speak or react to his surroundings.
Suddenly, the lights in the kitchen went out, and they were all thrown into darkness.
After a moment of silence, Luke's eyes glowed blue, the light filling the entire room.
“Y/N, where are you?” He asked.
𒁍 His Language of Love »
How does he speak to you? He speaks...
» … With His Words — Leviathan ✦ Satan ✦ Solomon ✦ Barbatos ✦ Mammon ›› It's in the way he talks, the words he shares with you, the notes he leaves for you. Language is his canvas, and he paints in fluid, grand strokes; whether he is singing your praises or murmuring sweet nothings, you know he means every word. Beware if he grows silent and reserved, for that signals discontent — and a sign you are no longer his muse.
» … With His Gaze — Lucifer ✦ Focalor ✦ Simeon ✦ Beelzebub ›› It's in the way he looks at you; whether watching as you float across the room going about your tasks, observing how your face crinkles when you laugh, or trying to discern what has hurt you, his eyes always return to you at the end of the day. He grows restless if he hasn't seen you, and just your presence near him can melt away his tensions. Beware if he adverts his gaze elsewhere often however, for he may find looking upon you to be a taxing and unpleasant thing to his heart.
» … With His Touch — Xavier ✦ Diavolo ✦ Simeon ✦ Aamon ✦ Asmodeus ›› It's in the way he craves intimate contact with you; his hands always find their way towards you, his lips yearn to leave little kisses, always wanting to soothe your body and bask in your warmth. Whether it is little cuddling sessions, embracing you close to drive away your fears, or frittering the hours away with passionate making out, he can never have his fill of everything that encompasses you in the physical form. Beware if his hands stay to himself though, for he may have grown cold and wish to devote them to someone else.
» … With His Gifts — Diavolo ✦ Mammon ✦ Leviathan ✦ Solomon ›› It's in the way he showers you with material goods; you could have uttered a desire for that new set of clothes months ago, or your eyes could have stared at a new magical reagent just a bit too long, but he didn't let that slip his mind. The way your face lights up when he presents his heart in a gift could keep his spirits high for weeks, your reactions always making the hard work to earn that coin worth it. It may seem empty and vain to others, but to him no price is too great to make you happy. Beware if he grows stingy or his gifting becomes rare; he may not place as much value upon you as he once did.
» … With His Time — Belphegor ✦ Beelzebub ✦ Satan ✦ Focalor ✦ Lucifer ›› It's in the way he values time with you, always wants to indulge in your company, finding comfort in the things he does with you. It could be as simple as a movie date at home with some popcorn to something as profound as long and meaningful conversations as you stroll under the moon's light; it is that shared bond that he values more than anything. Few others will occupy his hours the way you do, and few others will command his attention like you do. Beware if he always seems too busy for you however, for he may have come to regret all that shared time with you.
» … With His Service — Barbatos ✦ Asmodeus ✦ Xavier ✦ Belphegor ✦ Aamon ›› It's in the way he always helps you; whether it be a task to help ease your burdens to going out of his way to do something for you, he lets his actions speak his love for you in place of his words. You don't even have to ask him much any more, he can just tell from a glance at your body language or the tone you used when he should step in and offer you a pillar to lean on with his help. Seeing the relief wash over you, hearing your relaxed sigh, watching as the dark clouds over you vanish when he had been able to help you is what makes it all worth it. Beware if he seems deaf to your pleas for aid though, for he may have come to believe you are no longer worth the effort.
"What did you have for lunch today? "Are you carrying an umbrella with you right now?" "Where were you at 5 o'clock PM yesterday?"
Satan's barrage of questioning was relentless. It felt like for every answer you gave, he had ten more questions ready and waiting. Something must have happened to bring out his detective side once again, but you had no idea what. Satan sure wasn't going to tell you. At least, not until he was certain you were in the clear. You determined that it was best to cooperate so as not to wind up on his list of suspects.
"I was helping Simeon tidy up some old papers he found that had fallen from somewhere." It was hard to get more detailed than that, it hadn't exactly been an exciting event. You quickly added, "and before you ask, we had tea afterwards and then he walked me home."
Satan nodded. "Describe your relationship with Simeon."
You sighed. Did you just paint Simeon as as suspect, too? "He's a really, really good friend. I don't think he'd do anything bad. He gives good advice and help when I need it, bakes me too much food, and will give me signed copies of TSL. He's very thoughtful. He's kind of like a mom friend."
Satan was stoic with a frown until the "mom friend" comment. Only then did his face soften by just a smidge. He leaned in close to stare at your eyes, not allowing you to look away. If you tried, he would softly raise a palm and turn your head back towards him with a slow caress of your face. Perhaps a new interrogation tactic?
"Then, describe your relationship with me."
It was much harder to do that in front of the person you were describing. "You know you're also my really, really good friend," you responded. "I feel like, given the chance, you would do anything for me."
It was true. Though, it was obvious. Satan practically said as much every day. He wanted to hear more. What else did you think of him?
He wasn't out to interrogate you like a villain. He truly wanted to know, did you eat well? Will you be okay if it rains, do you want to share an umbrella? Where were you yesterday if not by his side? There was so much about you that he didn't know, so much about you that he wanted to know. Do you think of him in the ways he thinks of you?
