I kept seeing people on Tiktok saying "Suzanne ended Hayffie" "I'm proud I never shipped them" and even trying to flip the narrative and bring the age difference discourse and the "she met him when he was a minor!!" cards to try and make the ship become "problematic" and tie it to the recent "ship police/purity" witch hunt (ironic, after reading a whole book about the dangers of propaganda) so other people turn to hate it now.

And I'm so surprised because to me, an avid Hayffie shipper since day 1 (more than a decade in this ship, I won't get off now or never), Hayffie has never been so validated as with this book. Suzanne has given us SO MUCH CONTENT.

The makeup case scene? Her putting flowers on Haymitch's shirt? Both are very intimate scenes to me. Her being the last one she saw before entering the arena (her eyes being the last thing he focused on before going into that hell) AND first friendly one to see after he got out? Her making sure he knew that even after how the Capitol portrayed him, she believed he was a good person? Her making sure to check on him during the whole time he was in those capitol parties (and we know what depravities the capitol people made victors do. She maybe was checking noone did anything to him)? I even saw a comment on a Hayffie edit saying that in how grey Haymitch's life turned after his games, Effie was there every birthday of his after that, wearing rainbow colored clothes and trying to bring a positive attitude...

YOU CAN'T TELL ME SUZANNE DIDN'T PURPOSELY GIVE US ALL THIS CONTENT OF THEM

I'll admit I was a bit sad after seeing no mention of her in the epilogue and seeing so many people saying the "goose mate for life" thing completely invalidated them. And then I stumbled upon a comment here on Tumblr that made me go investigate and...

It turns out the "Goose mate for life" means once goose choose a partner, they'll be with that parner until one of them dies, then have a long mourning period, but then CAN and sometimes DO find a new partner after all of that.

I CAN'T THINK SUZANNE DIDN'T KNOW THIS. AND I'M THRIVING AT THE IMPLICATIONS

All I hope, and want to believe, is that this book, just as how Haymitch tells his story to Peeta and Katniss, is finally his way to reconcile with everything and with Lenore, to finally let go of the feelings of regret and guilt. And realise he can have someone by his side to help him cross this world before he finally gets reunited with her again in the other. I believe Effie is that person to him and I'll always still do.

P.S. Knowing most of Effie's development and their relationship sparkled from the movies and not the original books I can't help but pray the director of the SOTR movie has something prepared for us... Maybe if the put the epilogue in the movie, we'll see Effie with Haymitch there 👀

I've been thinking about how differently Agent Stone looks at Eggman vs. how Dr. Starline looks at Eggman. They both love him, but in very different ways.

Starline started out as a huge fanboy, aiming to turn his parasocial relationship with the doctor into an interpersonal one. He built up this ideal in his head of what he thought Eggman was like, based on outside observations. And once he began working directly with Eggman and got to see for himself that the man wasn't everything he envisioned, that disappointment crushed him. He became obsessed with proving to Eggman that he was doing the whole "villain" thing all wrong. You don't do it like this, you do it like that, and to prove that my way is the right way I'm going to conquer the world first and let you stand by my side. Surely you'll realize I was right all along and thank me for my help and this won't blow up in my face at all.

Stone, on the other hand, knows exactly what Eggman is like from having worked under him for a while. He does not care about how "problematic" Eggman is, even when he maybe should; he is 100% ride-or-die for that man, warts and all. And he's not clueless about his position as an underling, either; the Sonic 2 Pre-Quill tie-in comic shows that he can be just as ruthless and cunning as Eggman if he wants. Unlike Starline, Stone has no desire to conquer the world himself, though he absolutely could if he wanted to; he just wants to be part of the doctor's conquest, no matter how big or small that part may be. Ironically enough, by being his sycophant, Agent Stone brings out Dr. Eggman's humanity. Stone loves Eggman unconditionally when unconditional love is something Eggman's never had. Stone gave him a human connection at a time when Eggman believed humanity wasn't worth connecting with; and yet, when Eggman was so desperate for companionship while stuck on the mushroom planet that he put a face on a rock, he didn't call it Agent Boulder, he called it Stone. And in the third movie, he (apparently) died realizing that for all the trouble he went to to seek his grandfather's approval, he already had someone by his side this entire time, someone who never willingly left him in spite of all the mistreatment at his hands.

Eggman is such an interesting and compelling villain to me (specifically in the games and comics and movies) because underneath all the grandiose schemes to take over the world, he's still so painfully human. He admires his grandfather, he envies his cousin, and he got so attached to the AI he created that she wound up becoming a daughter to him. He wants attention, respect, recognition. He can be a caring father (Sage) and a deadbeat dad (Belle) at the same time. He's so goddamn multifaceted and I fucking love it.

I once read a really great post that essentially said Eggman is a right-brained villain (creative, emotional) while Starline is a left-brained villain (calculative, logical) and I've never stopped thinking about it because it's true.

(Btw I'm not trying to say that any of this makes Stone "better" than Starline as a villain/love interest, I'm just pointing out how differently they approach their affection for Eggman and how differently he responds to both of them.)

I do love My Personal Weatherman. I take GREAT comfort in that show. It's not flawless by any means, but it makes my synapses buzz in the best possible way.

That doesn't mean it's a comfort show for everyone.

I am fully aware that many find Segasaki/Yoh's dynamic to be problematic or consider it an abusive relationship. If you see it that way, I can certainly understand why you wouldn't find it a comfort show. It's a valid response to that interpretation.

Before I go further, please know that I do not want to negate anyone's personal experiences or opinions in this post. You are more than welcome to disagree!

But on MY blog - I will defend these characters with everything in my being.

In short - I do NOT see it as an abusive relationship. I see it as two people figuring out how their life together is going to work. Which is HARD and ONGOING. Especially for two introverts who keep a lot of their thoughts in their heads. I feel that struggle in the core of my being.

Thanks to some of the subtitle/scripting issues, many people misinterpret how long they've "lived together". (That post has a pretty great timeline if you're interested.) They didn't start living together until Yoh graduated, and they've only been living together a few months. They are still learning a lot about each other and their relationship. Even if they'd been living together a long time, figuring life out together is a process. It's not an easy one.

Do I think either character is a green flag? ABSOLUTELY NOT.

Are they very flawed people? Yes.

Are they crap communicators? Yes.

Is there a power imbalance? Yes, but only when Yoh allows it. Yoh enjoys the power play. Yoh IS allowing it. No question in my mind on that score.

It's VERY important to realize that Yoh is the epitome of an unreliable narrator and partial viewpoints/perspectives are in play. For anyone not familiar with it, that means Yoh's perspective is misleading us to a degree in the early episodes. His words in particular cannot be trusted. Before someone comes at me about dismissing a character's words or belittling their feelings, this is an actual literary and narrative tool.

I love Yoh. He's processing best he can. He doesn't know the best words to use. He struggles to figure out what his emotions mean and how to read other people. Like most of us in life, he's figuring crap out.

And Segasaki is figuring his crap out too. But they're TRYING.

Now do I think their relationship is a role model for "BDSM" as it sometimes gets labeled? Please. Dear God. No. Just no. That requires GOOD communication and clear negotiation. See earlier point. They're crap at that...so very human.

However, I do think this is a lifestyle dominant/submissive relationship. By that I mean they have naturally fallen into these roles based on their personalities and preferences. It's more common than you might think, but that's probably an entirely different post.

And yes, I've read every one of those posts. Most of them multiple times. I read them when they were WROTE. I have an entire folder of posts about this show BOOKMARKED on my computer, because I didn't even have a Tumblr account at the time.

Where was I? Oh right - why I find comfort in it. Like many things I like or love, I don't really know. Why do I find pangolins adorable? Why do I love sweaters? Why do I enjoy asymmetrical earrings? I don't stress over it. I just accept that I love them.

Is it because I think the sexuality embedded and a rain soaked Yoh are BEAUTIFUL? I'm sure that is 100% part of it. It's a valid reason to indulge.

Is it possibly a result of me growing up in a hierarchical community with a heavy amount of toxic masculinity that I enjoy seeing dominant/submissive interactions? Maybe. That would not make my enjoyment of the show less valid.

Is it possibly a manifestation of untreated trauma or personal struggles of some kind? Maybe. That would not make my enjoyment of the show less valid.

Is it possible that I see either myself or my own relationship in their relationship at times? Yes, that is absolutely true. Still a valid reason to enjoy it.

Regardless, here's what I know without a doubt.

But frankly, feel free to worry about me if you want. If that's what you want to spend your energy on, have at it. I won't be stressing though. Because as much as I enjoy this show, Segasaki is not who I want.

I'm not very active on tumblr much these days, but as a Gundam fan I should probably pop in to talk about GQuuuuuuX. Because I sure have some opinions on it.

The basic overview is that I think the show had a very interesting framework. But everything was so rushed that I found it all to be very shallow, and I didn't enjoy it as a result. It especially hurts in my case because Beginning and the early episodes really drew me into Machu, Nyaan, and Shuji, and they were the part of the show I was most interested in. Unfortunately they felt completely overshadowed by all UC stuff in the 2nd half, which did not interest me anywhere near as much. That said, there are two things from the finale that I'm particularly upset by:

1. Bringing back Furuya as Amuro.

I don't care that production on the show started before his behavior came out. I don't buy any of the excuses. Bringing him back was an awful mistake, full stop. He confessed to his actions long enough ago that even if his line was recorded before hand, there has been plenty of time to recast and re-record one line. Having him there is a black mark against the show.

2. The Machu x Shuji Confession.

You can go through my post history on bsky and see that I never expected GQ to be yuri. In fact, you can find me rooting for the polycule more than anything. But damn, was the het absolutely terrible. Machu's attraction to Shuji is completely one-sided, and they don't even see each other for half the show. There is even a whole moment in the final episode that built up to "Shuji loves Lalah." It all perfectly clicked into place. And then it's like someone burst into the writing room and shouted "NOOOOOO! You have to make Shuji get with one of the girls, or people might think it's gay again!" What follows is a completely out of left field kiss and love confession, none of which felt remotely earned.

Meanwhile, the relationship between Suletta and Miorine was the core of G-Witch's story. They share multiple moments of mutual affection throughout the show. They end the show married. And yet, they couldn't kiss on screen. They couldn't directly say the words "I love you" to each other. By all accounts the staff were handicaped by Bandai in how they were allowed to depict Sulemio's relationship. And while the staff did succeed at making it textual, they had to get creative to do it.

In any other context I would say "Ah, forced het because he's a boy and she's a girl. Must be a day ending in Y." But to get served that right after G-Witch? After all the hoops Sulemio had to jump through? Yeah, I'm a little insulted here.

Sapphic romances work so hard and can be so good, they can be the core theme of the story. And they still get less than the most lazy and uninspired het romances in media. And make no mistake, bigots will be tripping over themselves for years to say that Machu and Shuji getting a kiss and "I love you" makes it a better/more legitimate relationship than Sulemio.

I don't outright hate GQuuuuuuX. Like any Gundam series I don't like, there are still things I enjoyed. Nyaan, Shiiko, Deux, the Gyan and GFreD, the animation, the ED and the fact Machu & Nyaan live together after the finale. Conch, my precious robot crab son, who I'am so proud of. Hell, I'm still talking about it over two days later, something I can't say about other recent Gundam entries I didn't like (Metaverse, RfV, Silver Phantom). But this entry missed the mark for me.

On a personal note, I am so glad that this got delayed and Suletta was our first female MC. Suletta was such a great starting point for female MCs: she felt like the main character of her own show (a show actually centered around women!), and her personality and motivations didn't revolve around a boy. And GQuuuuuuX had far far more misogyny problems than G-Witch; they wanted to make a show about a female Gundam MC and they failed Machu in just about every way. Considering Gundam's often problematic issues relating to it's female characters throughout the franchise, Suletta feels like a miracle, and we somehow dodged the bullet of first female MC being plagued by those exact same issues.

It was supposed to be just another day at work. Key word: supposed. Your manager, Jemma, she had called you in to talk about a new brand deal, see if you were intrested and try out a fw pieces they sent as a PR gift.

You knew nothing of the brand, its designers or any other models associate with them but you didn't pay much attention, although it was quite odd. Those were the thoughts running through your mind as you entered the building your team worked in.

"Jemma, I'm here girl, where are you?" you asked,

"Backstage Y/n/n" you heard her shout

Half an hour later you were ready to try out what must be considered as an entire collection of the brand. You took your time going through everything they sent over. Dresses, skirts, shirts, jackets, bags. It had been at least five hours during which Jemma, Emmy -your main photographer-, Pauline -your make-up artist-, Maria -your content producer- and Sofia -your hair stylist- were sitting on the couches of the try-out room and watched you do a mini runway.

They always helped you make such decisions. Different factors always shown on those conversations. Jemma was more concerned about your part of the deal. Pauline and Sofia made sure you chose deals that associated your name with the aesthetics, the high-end tailors. Emmy and Maria took into account how you were porteyed. All of them always cared about you as a person and made sure you were comfortable.

Right now though, comfort had left the chat. The moment you started walking with those heels on disaster struck. You were always the opposite of clumsy, so to say the girls were shocked to see you twist you ankle and fall so messily on the floor was a worrying sight.

"Ahh fuck... it hurts.. it hurts so bad... hmm" these were some stiletos straight from hell for sure.

Jemma, ever the collected one, fetched some ice.

"I think it's swelling a bit. Maybe we should take you to a hospital..." Maria expressed

"I think a quick scan is the best. It could get worse if it's a serious injury and we didn't take care of it properly... Besides, Pedri is going to be pissed if he learns we didn't take care of his woman..." Pauline continued

Sofia helped you sit on the couch while Jemma helped you out of those awful shoes. The girls helped you change quickly and took you to the hospital for an x-ray.

To say your friends were overeacting was minimal. The moment your ankle twisted, yes you admitted it hurt. Right now though, a good two hours after, you couldn't feel something problematic. Your foot moved normaly and without any pain.

None the less, the doctors confirmed through the x-ray that it wasn't broken or fractured. It was just a bit damaged. They said that you should just be cautious for the next couple of weeks and that if you felt it getting worse to come back for a check-up.

You left the with a bandaged ankle but wearing both shoes. You decided that your boyfriend was best kept in the dark about this. He would babysit you constantly and you couldn't deal with that right now.

Unfortunately, luck had other plans for you. In the entrance of the hospital stood none other than Ferran. Great. Just great. How were you gonna cover this one up?

"Hey Y/n, everything okay?"

"Yeah, just a check up you know? You?"

"My cousin gave birth last night and I'm waiting to see her and my niece!"

"Ohh, I'm happy for you! Give her my wishes!" you replied as you walked slowly to your car that Jemma had driven here.

"Will do!" he responded and headed inside.

You thought you had managed to hide the injury pretty good but you ended up being wrong. The first thing Ferran did upon re-entering the hospital was to call Pedri.

"Pedrito!"

"Tirburon!"

"Mi amigo, what happened to your girl?"

"What do you mean?"

"I saw her in the hospital. She was limping and I could see a bandage covering her ankle. Albeit, she was hiding it quite a bit, I still saw."

"I don't know what happened but I'm coming to pick her up. Thanks shark"

"Any time.. Got to go! See ya tomorrow!"

"Yep, thanks again"

"Don't mention it!"

And at that they hang up.

"What do you think you are about to do? Tell me baby..." he said as you picked up the phone

"Wha-at do you mean?" you played dump, both of you knew.

"Baby, I know your injured. Please just please let me get you home. You shouldn't drive."

"I admit I shouldn't drive. You are right."

"I'm coming to get you, stay there amor"

You were completely right about your boyfriend's behaviour. The moment he saw your ankle bandaged up, he decided that until you were back to full health he would help you with everything.

Don't get me wrong. He was really sweet and what he did actually helped. He got you to lean on him so you wouldn't have to put to much weight or limp your way around the house. You admitted thougth that he was kind of restless due to the matter.

That same night, both of you had trouble falling asleep. Him because he was anxious about your foot and you because he wouldn't stop moving.

"Pepi...why are you movin' so much..?" you asked groggily, barely awake

"I can't sleep amor.." he admitted as he turned around to look at you, the light of the moon hitting you in the face, making you look every bit of the goddess you were.

"Why? Are you feeling okay?" you questioned him, wanting to make sure of his well-being

"I'm not okay... because you are not okay and I don't know how to help... and I feel useless"

You leaned in towards him but winced a bit from the movement.

"Hey... HEY don't move too much you haven't healed yet, amor be careful"

"Shh Pepi, it's fine. It's something minor not something you should lose sleep over...come on lean on me and relax. I'm fine and I'll wake you up if I need anything I promise..."

With a sign, he leaned closer to you and let his head fall in the crook of your neck. He still waited until you fell asleep to close his eyes but you could feel that he had eased up and that he was calm enough to fall asleep himself.

When next morning rolled around, he was much the same anxious ball of tame protectiveness.

"Hermosa.. we need to change your bandages soon"

"I know guapo, I know. Let me shower first and then we will change them"

"There is no way you are showering with that ankle. At least not on your own..."

"I like that preposition Pepi" you teased, knowing there was no way he would agree while you were hurt, even though it was in no way connected.

"Don't let such ideas on your head amor, we will actually just shower..."

"Okay okay, lead the way.." you said as a smile blossomed on your lips.

He was so attentive to your every need. So caring, so calm about it all. So level-headed. He knew exactly how to help, what to do and what not to do. You fell even more in love with him because of it.

i have defended steven universe a lot here, particularly from some unfair and nonsensical "criticism", but it's time to talk about some of the things that i DIDN'T like about steven universe.

that episode where amethyst shapeshifts into rose to terrorize greg. what the fuck was that? and the fact that they don't address it afterwards makes it even worse. don't write in incredibly dark stuff, if you're just gonna brush it under the rug like “don't worry kids, greg and amethyst just had a little fight, that's all”.

that time when sadie got mad at lars after she stranded him on an island on purpose so that she could spend time with him. i swear, this show had the wildest subplots and they brush past it like it's nothing. at least lars and sadie don't get together in the end, it's honestly better that way.

peridot's character progression. don't get me wrong, her redemption arc was amazing, probably the best in this show. but after that, she's just reduced to goofy sidekick?? this is especially insulting when peridot is an actually skilled and useful member of the crystal gems - she's good with tech, she knows a lot about the homeworld - and they still reduce her to the comic relief.

speaking of, GIVE. PERIDOT. HER. LIMB ENHANCERS. BACK. those were her mobility aid, she needed them to function like a regular peridot! she clearly had a lot of difficulty moving around and doing things without her limb enhancers, but clearly the message here was “you're perfect as you are”. this is like a different version of the glow-up trope in every teen movie, where the girl's glasses is removed so that she can be blind but confident. /s

also speaking of, amethyst encouraging peridot to talk shit about everyone else but getting offended when peridot insulted her was incredibly hypocritical, and it's ridiculous that peridot had to apologize for it.

the diamonds' redemption, of course, i don't think i need to explain why i dislike it. yes, it's good that steven didn't forgive them but this issue goes beyond steven. the diamonds hurt everyone, but they're still rulers of the homeworld. yes, they changed but they could easily go back to being dictators any time they wished. especially since they never got punished for any of their actions. sure, you don't need to kill them off but at least imprison them or take away their powers or something???

spinel being adopted by the diamonds. you're telling me the creators wrote a sympathetic and relatable villain who has abandonment issues and trauma, only to hand her over to The Abusers™ because she reminded them of their victim? yikes.

so yeah. steven universe has a special place in my heart because it's the first queer show i ever watched, and also the first animated series with such a deep and interesting storyline. but i'm still not one to glorify everything about it because i'm well aware that it had its fair share of problematic stuff too.

After reading all the responses I've gotten so far for this post, as well as seeing discourse pop up here and there, I think the best piece of advice I can give new Hetalia fans is this:

If you see something in Hetalia that you feel is offensive and/or problematic enough to warrant conversation, debate, or outright cancellation, then you should know that these conversations have been had again and again, repeated so much to the point of nauseum. They've been discussed from literally every angle you can think of.

And they've been brought up so often that when older fans see posts about long-dead topics, we typically roll our eyes and keep scrolling. Not because we don't have opinions on the subject. Rather, we've since moved on from debates that ultimately led us nowhere. Debates that, more often than not, contributed to a toxic fan environment.

And when I say, "Everything's been discussed," I mean every. Single. One of them. I'm not going to list them all off, but I'm sure you are familiar with some of the topics, with the USUK debate being a fairly recent one to pop up again.

In short, my advice is this: If you want to discuss what you feel is offensive and/or problematic in Hetalia, I can't stop you. You do you. If you feel that strongly about it, go ahead. I'm not here to play fandom cop.

What I will say, however, is that if you're going to go out of your way to dig up the dead, don't expect a big turnout for the autopsy. Because frankly? Those corpses didn't even smell that good when they were alive in the first place.

let's talk about how many people are trying to diminish the complexity of ragatha and jax, who are arguably the two most profound characters in the show (including their relationship, which is literally dedicated two episodes, but more on that later). half of the fandom calls jax a complete bastard with no moral values. honestly, i think that's an exaggeration because, while he is a bit crazy, there are lines he won't cross, according to gooseworx herself. i won't justify jax; i fully recognize his problematic aspects, but what annoys me more is how the fandom misinterprets him. furthermore, we haven't yet had a full character reveal, so we can't say for sure what jax's motives are or how "bad" he really is. it's better not to form black-and-white impressions and to wait for the continuation of the series. i'm confident that gooseworx's craftsmanship will not let us down. there's really not much to say about jax; he's mostly been annoying everyone around him, and his deeper character exploration will start in episodes 5 and 6. however, even these first four episodes are enough to understand that he is a more complex character, and there are reasons for his actions. ep 4 speaks volumes; jax, when tired, is just as ordinary and unproblematic as everyone else. gooseworx responded to someone that everyone has reasons for how they behave, and this applies to jax, which was indeed the question posed by a fan. now, about ragatha, who has been called "hypocritical" since the pilot episode, simply because she doesn't always tell the truth (her lies, by the way, never hurt anyone, unlike the truth that hurt gangle and jax in ep 4). i’ve never seen gangle give a disapproving look when she heard ragatha's so-called lies. everyone has always been fine with her accommodating behavior; she is literally the most harmless character in the circus, and hating on her is just plain stupid and pointless. if her so-called hypocrisy could somehow impact a character's moral state, i would understand better. but it was the truth that affected the course of the plot, which came from her own mouth. ragatha is, in essence, a character who clearly tries to please everyone, even jax. in ep 2, we see her trying to talk to him in a normal way, even if she admits in ep 4 that she hates him but doesn’t want him to hate her. this phrase literally reveals the essence of ragatha. in order to be liked by everyone, even those who annoy her, she would go so far as to lie or behave exaggeratedly politely. i don’t see any problem with this; it’s her character trait, which is also part of her. what has her lie negatively affected? nothing; it was the truth that ragatha was thinking about. she said it to jax and gangle under the influence of sauce, which is an analogy for alcohol or drugs. and only after that did something start to bother them, lol. and how can you maintain a positive attitude with such a team? jax just annoys everyone, gangle and pomni aren't particularly positive (i don’t blame them), kinger has long lost it, and zooble behaves rudely toward everyone. ragatha is literally a hero among the others, since she has still kept everything inside and maintained a positive attitude despite everything. she is one of the least problematic characters, and i cannot understand the specific hate directed at her. i see her tendency to tell accommodating lies as a common way to avoid conflict, but not as something that sabotages the other circus members; that’s actually what jax does. the hate toward ragatha makes no sense; her behavior harms no one

BELIEVABLE female crossdressing in a shojo manga

her older brother is fat, a good person, and nobody ever comments on his weight (this point is the most shocking to me honestly)

Older brother is loudly supportive of his gnc sister and male cousin

Unclear if MC is gay, transmasc, or just doing this out of survival, but it says something that becoming a love interest was her *first* response

Boy the MC bewitched in girl form as a child is thrown off by her handsome appearance as an adult, yet awkwardly asks if she wants help breaking her engagement with a man

I forgot, originally he was the stock "sexist love interest who dials it back for his one true love" type, but this one shatters the mold not by making her the one girl he isn't mean to, but instead having him step back from his feelings and step UP as a genuine, actual, fr ally and continuing their friendship. Insane upgrade.

And it all feels pretty organic! They'll hint at complicated feelings from the people around her without grandstanding or molding medieval-y types into 21st century values

Like I can't emphasize enough how weird it is to see a child drawn like this and they're not evil

I never talked about this one for the opposite reasons of the above. Um. Extremely horny ethicsplay* thriller about a mentally-challenged princess forced to marry a duke (who, in turn, was forced to marry a mentally-challenged princess). What if you were the abused sexy sensual prisoner princess forcibly married to a smoldering tall dark-haired duke AND you had brain damage.

Let me say that I enjoy this story sincerely and that her issues are not played lightly, but it is absolutely going for eroticism. Like oh nooo, you're not mentally competent enough to consent 😉😉 the duke could do whatever he wants and you're too dumb and doll-like to do anything about it😉😉😉 also your maids roofied you😉did I mention your sick bastard brother-king made you like this? A Splendid Revenge Story of a Super-Dreadnought Cheat Villainess

I don't have a lot to say about this one other ​than it's a refreshing revenge-centric OI. It's not treading new ground, but it executes the genre's tropes well. The villains are exaggerated caricatures of hubris, brazen leeches who've forgotten whose blood they've been surviving on, each with their own distinctive brand of arrogance introduced at a measured pace to keep the true hero's OPness from getting boring, all with a unique stylistic flair.

Princess revenge stories are frequently derailed by dull romance or the desire to reinvent capitalism, so the fact that Super-Dreadnought commits itself to smiting Lunaria's enemies without straying from the path makes it a high recommend.

Turning the Mad Dog into a Genteel Lord

I realized I don't have enough screenshots to prove my controversial opinion (that this is less puppy dog bf fantasy and more crypto-age reggressor/caretaker right up until they knew it would mess with the overall light and goofy tone), and I can't say those kinds of things without proof. so. I'll save that for another day.

Anyway. Plot: Priestess Diarin, who is so hot I have more screenshots of her than any of the men, has to tame an abused beast-like 6'8 shredded ex-child soldier into a noble. She's the only one who can change him, she's the only one he can be vulnerable with. Middling plot, heavy slapstick/reaction face-based humor, but everyone is sexy and there are mild to moderate sadist-on-the-art-team impies, so. Recommend.

On an unrelated note can tappytoons please stop picking up manwha with good art? Their translation choices make me unreasonably mad.

Author's Note: Sorry it took so long to complete this ask, I got burned out about halfway through and needed to take a little break. I hope you like them though! I wasn't exactly sure how you wanted me to do them so I did all of class 1-A (+ platonic Aizawa and Mic) separately, they do have some connections in them though. There are a lot of words (3,895 to be exact) so I'm gonna be adding a read more button.

Shoji is absolutely the type of yandere to try and protect you from the bad in the world. If anyone so much as looks at you wrong he will turn into a big guard dog. He wraps you up in his arms and death glares at the person that looked at you funny. If you comment on it he will turn back into the big teddy bear that you know and love. He will not limit your internet access but you bet he will watch over you if you look up triggering or problematic things for your mental health. He won't restrict it but he will have a big talk with you about how it's better to consume positive media instead of negative media. He loves to cuddle you with all his arms, and it's absolutely heavenly. He might be the tallest in class, but no way does this man not like being the little spoon. He loves feeling you wrapped around him actually a little bit more than him being wrapped around you, he just loves the comfort you give him.

Koda is absolutely a cinnamon roll yandere. He doesn't want to hurt you or anybody else for that matter. He feels like the type of yandere to worship the very ground you walk on. If you give him a gift he will put it on a special shelf and cherish it forever. Once he accidentally forgot to put it up on his shelf and one of his animal friends accidentally broke it, he cried for hours until you managed to calm him down. Whenever you can't sleep Koda will send over a bird with a beautiful song to lull you to sleep. If you confront him about it he will try and deny it at first but end up cracking under your gaze. He tells you how he just wants to make sure you get a good amount of sleep, he didn't mean to upset you. If you aren't angry at him he will be so happy, if you are he will honestly turn into the poutiest baby you've ever seen.

Sato is the type of yandere to give you anything and everything you want, especially if it's something to do with baking. He and you probably have a designated day to bake at least one thing. If you don't feel like baking that day Sato will definitely sit you up on the counter and just talk to you well he bakes. If you love to lick the spoon he will definitely bakes the batter specially without eggs so you can eat as much of it as you want. He might look big and scary to some people but he is actually a absolute sweetheart. If you get tired from walking, even just a little bit, Sato will pick you up and cradle you like a baby so you don't have to walk. He feels like the type of boyfriend that will give you his shoes if yours are hurting your feet. Either that or he will carry around a extra pair of shoes in his bag. He doesn't care what people think when he does stuff for you, your his precious angel and he's willing to do anything for you.

Ida's obsession with you stems from a deep-rooted sense of duty and responsibility. He becomes fixated on protecting you at all costs, believing it's his duty to keep you safe, even if it means resorting to extreme measures. Now Ida does not want to hurt anyone, however if they were to hurt you then he most definitely would be willing to bend his morality a little bit. He is smart enough to do full background checks on anyone close to you and is willing to use that against them if they try and hurt you. He will have Aizawa set up security cameras all throughout the dorms saying he wants to protect his classmates as class representative. He does use the cameras for that, however he mostly uses them to keep tabs on you. On a side note he keeps the kitchen stashed with all your favorite foods so you never go hungry.

Sero is the type of yandere to be possessive of you but still lets you have friends (He definitely doesn't have Ida run background checks on them or anything like that... oh who am I kidding he most definitely does). He will definitely get close to all your friends and family if you want. If someone you grew up with shows him your baby pictures you he will definitely internally fan boy. He has a pretty laid back attitude, so he's not super controlling or manipulative. However this man definitely makes up for it with his obsessive ways. He will definitely want to do the spiderman kiss at some point or another, once you start dating it happens all the time. ⚠️Next part of Sero's headcanons continues slightly suggestive things, just thoughts and not actually doing anything⚠️ He's best friends with denki so we can guarantee he's at least a little bit of a pervert, at least to you. He would love to either see you shirtless or in a sports bra depending on your gender. He knows you're not ready for the next step so he's not gonna force you, for now he's fine with just resting his head on your chest or sitting you on his lap.

Todoroki is the type of yandere to be so obsessive for you that it hurts his heart to not be with you. He can be so possessive sometimes that he'll lock the two of you in a room and hide the key. He knows it's a bit over the top, he just can't help it. To him you are a living breathing God, you are so amazing that he just has to be next to you. However he does know that you might try and grow distant if he gets too possessive... To make up for this he tries to be as lenient with you as possible in most things. He will definitely stalk you, but he's pretty open about it. He will be like "He darling! You went to the ice cream shop yesterday and left your notebook. Don't worry though, I picked it up for you". Him and the class decide that kidnapping was out of the question... but sleepovers with the class that "accidentally" last for a week aren't uncommon. Todoroki will invite you over to his dorm all the time, sometimes just to cuddle. He desperately craves physical affection... Please give him some.

Momo is one of the yanderes with more common sense. She makes sure to match how fast she eases you into her yandere tendencies and how well you take them. If your reactions are on the more positive side she will move up a few levels in about two to three weeks. However if you seem uncomfortable she will ease them onto you slowly, conditioning you so it all feels normal. She feels like the type of yandere to invite you with her instead of stalking you, though she's not against it either. Like if she goes to the Mall or even the Library she will definitely invite you. If you don't really want to go she will tell you that you can get your favorite food or stop at your favorite place on the way. If she goes shopping by herself you can 100% guarantee that she returns with at least two gifts for you. If you go shopping with her however you both will definitely come back with bags full of gifts.

Bakugo is on the extremely possessive yandere side. He used to want you to be only his, but after a lot of convincing from the class he realized that they all loved you as much as him so maybe just maybe they could share you. He still can't be in the same room when Izuku's or Todoroki are being lovey with you though, he's working on it though. He used to call you only his and use words like my darling, now he calls you the only theirs and names like our darling. If anyone that isn't in class 1-A gets too close to you, even simple things like brushing against you in the hallways, he will quickly and without thinking grab your hand and not let go until he feels better. Bakugo here is definitely not shy about pda (public display of affection). He will hug and kiss you all he wants no matter where you are, though it's a bit more rough out in public to keep up his tough boy appearance.

Kirishima is the type of yandere to obsess over every little thing you do. He notices every little detail about you and points them out to other classmates. Like one day you came into class and Kirishima just casually tells the bakusquad that your breath smells slightly different than it normally does, probably because you ran out of your favorite scented toothpaste and had to replace it with your second favorite. They all looked at him funny. Not because of the obsessive sound of that sentence, but because he somehow managed to notice something that no one else did. The minute you walk into the room Kirishima's eyes find you. He can somehow keep a good conversation with a person well-watching. He is always telling you how manly you are, even for the littlest things. He is almost constantly wanting to give you affection. His affection ranges from quick kisses on the nose to cuddling for hours. He wants to wash you in the bath soooo badly. Not in a perverted way of course! He just wants to take care of you, you're his darling after all! He would have Momo make a bathing suit to cover up your privates so he could even just wash your hair for you.

Ojiro is the type of yandere who literally just wants to take care of you. He will buy you whatever snacks you want, no matter how hard they are to find. He hates to see you sad so he will almost always have a funny or cute video saved on his phone to cheer you up. He honestly buys the most thoughtful gifts in all of class 1-A. He will teach you martial arts if you ask him to, though he's absolutely gonna baby you if you get hurt during training. He likes when you play with his tail. He will definitely wrap his tail around you while you're both sitting down. He is extremely shy about telling you his love for you. Him and Koda can sit together for hours and just talk about you, but when it comes to actually telling you about it he gets all shy. He once managed to get out the words I like you but before you could even respond he tried to cover it up with a like a friend.

Aoyama is the type of yandere to constantly compliment you and not be shy about his obsession. He loves to do Mini fashion shows for himself and You. He will invite the whole class and they all show up. Bakugo might take a bit more convincing but he cracks when Aoyama shows him one of the dresses/suits you will be wearing. If your having a self conscious day where you don't like something about yourself fo to Ayoama. He is always ready with a list of things he loves about you. The list doesn't have only things about your body either... It has little habits you do, your tone of voice, your passions, your different styles, your personality, ect. He is always ready to make you any type of clothes you want. He can make the comfiest bra's and/or panties if your comfortable with that. He knows how to make binders and breast forms for trangender darlings as well. He gives you your favorite type of cheese randomly, and if you don't like the taste of cheese he buys cheese scented candles for you.

Denki is the type of yandere to follow you around like a lost puppy. He is super duper protective of you to the point that he will do his best to remove anyone and anything that has the potential to harm you. At some point you got a splinter in your foot and this boy convinced everyone that soft carpeted floors were a necessity to have in the dorms. He may not be good at numbers or other academic things, however he is amazing with people. He would never hurt you, that includes manipulating you, but he'a not above manipulating other people. Half the time nobody even notices he's manipulating them, and if they do, Denki will manipulate them more to think it's all in their head. Denki is a naturally cuddly person so cuddle sessions are a must have. If you ask him for cuddles he will drop everything he's doing and cuddle you. He isn't the type to get jealous cause he knows you love class 1-A and only them romantically. He is more the type to get to show the other person that you belong to him.

Izuku is the type to know everything about you, even things you don't know. Izuku definitely has at least 3 notebooks full of all your information. The first one starts of pretty standard, just your name and quirk, same as everyone else. It then gets more in detail about your quirk until it's basically entirely explained as far as to your family tree to compare the quirks to your own. It then sorta just kept on going from there. He definitely has a secret shrine to you. It has little things like pens that you left behind up to pictures of you at all times of the day. He keeps it hidden in a locked drawer so no one can find out about it. He’s a huge stalker. He almost always knows where you are and when he doesn't he panics and searches the entire city for you. He likes to watch you sleep secretly, only for about half an hour though.

Mina is the classic type of stalker that watches you from a tree. She will absolutely positively have a wall covered with photos of you in her room. Now she's not a complete idiot, so she buys a pretty tapestry and covers up the pictures with it. She is super bubbly and friendly so she has no problem talking to you. She will listen to you talk about something you love for hours if it would make you happy! Of course if you preferred to listen she has tons of stories to tell you, even if she might bend them a little bit to make herself sound more amazing. She definitely sends you good morning and good night texts, just not at normal times. Her good morning texts range from 4:00 in the morning to 12:00 noon. Her good night texts are around 10:00 in the nighttime to 2:00 in the morning. She definitely posts all about you on her social media's. If your not comfortable with pictures she will just post all about how amazing and beautiful/handsome you are. If someone says something like "Oooo what's their number" or "I bet I could date them" Mina will instantly block them. If they something more, suggestive to straight up filthy, Mina will not hesitate to break their online profile. She has a passion for coding and knows how to hack into accounts without leaving a trail.

Tokoyami is the type of edgy but soft yandere. Tokoyami loves it when you listen to his poetry. He could go on for hours with edgy (yet very cute) poetics about how you are his beautiful Shining star. Darkshadow also likes to talk to you. However theirs are more asking you questions and listening to your answer so they can store it in their mind. Tokoyami is really shy when it comes to physical affection, Dark Shadow is definitely not though. Tokoyami will be sitting next to you in the common room and Dark shadow will just pop up and be like "Tokoyami wants to hold your hand but he's too scared to ask". Tokoyami isn't that great with speaking words, mostly prefering to write instead. He will write cute little notes for you and leave them on your desk. He makes handmade black envelopes and seals them with a red wax stamp. Uraraka is the type of yandere to be so caring that you hardly see the obsessiveness because you're too happy from all the love she gives you. But let me tell you that the obsessiveness is 100% there. She's very careful that nothing can hurt you. If you do somehow manage to get hurt she will take care of the wound extremely tenderly. It could range from a splinter to a broken leg, it doesn't matter because she treats you so sweetly it's impossible to top it. At times she will become quite clingy, wanting cuddles and kisses galore. If your just not a touchy person or maybe you don't like skin on skin contact she will try and back off. However she needs some type of contact or she gets super pouty and sometimes depressed. If you want to bring her out of this state all you have to do is link your pinkies. It's not much but it makes her super happy that you're even touching her. Be careful as when her emotions get super high her quirk gets out of control and you might float up to the ceiling.

Jiro is like the edgy to everyone except you girlfriend. Once you found a cute and fluffy pink key chain and gave it to her. She paused for a second and you panicked thinking you messed up. When you offered to take it back she snapped out of it and hugged it to her chest tightly. She gently smiled at you and said she absolutely loved it. After that she placed it on her bookbag and hasn't taken it off since. She is super flirty to you but if you so much as say she looks pretty she will turn into a blushing mess and not be able to look at you for at least 10 minutes. If you ask her to teach you and instrument she will absolutely agree. If you are a slow learner it's ok, She has all the patience in the world for you. If you learn quickly she will eventually start playing musica with you. It doesn't matter what type of music you like she definitely has a playlist of all your favorite songs that she listens to when she misses you.

Hagakure is definitely the type of yandere to stalk you any chance she gets. She would have major problems approaching you cause she thinks you're too good for her. She honestly thinks that you are absolutely one of the most perfect beings in the universe. Her quirk literally makes her invisible so she could stand directly next to you and you would never know. It may sound a bit creepy, and she is well aware of this, but she likes to watch you sleep. She loves how peaceful you look when you're having a good dream. If you were to sleep walk/sleep talk she will let you do whatever it is you do as she finds it adorable. If she thinks you might hurt yourself in your sleep she will gently lead you back to bed and tuck you in tightly. She will sometimes follow you for hours. When people ask her what she likes to do her reponse is "being with y/n". It sounds normal enough to not cause suspicion but it's still the truth, she does love being with you! You just Don't know she's there most of the time...

Tsu is the type of yandere to be extremely sweet to almost everyone but if they so much as look at you wrong that switch flips fast. So basically Tsu is overprotective central. She will protect you from any harm that comes your way. She has a dead serious glare that is honestly scarrier that original Bakugo. She loves to cuddle up next to you in the sunshine on a warm day. She doesn't like intense heat but she loves sunlight. She will curl up next to the pool and just sunbathe with you if you want. If you love swimming she will take you swimming all the time. She uses her excuse of being able to breath under water as a way to kiss you. Let me explain, she will press your lips together and blow air into your mouth so you can stay underwater with her. She will 100% take selfies with you any chance she gets. She actually has a locked folder on her phone called 🐸 ~ My Darling ~ 🐸 with over 500 pictures of you.

Aizawa is like a father type yandere to you. He's gonna be super duper protective of you. If a villain tries to attack you while your in class (because Class 1-A is just a villain attack magnet) you’re the first one he thinks about protecting. He knows it's wrong to have a favorite student but he just can't help it. Your just such an amazing person to him how could he not favorite you?! He absolutely is not afraid to show his favoritism to anyone. If Nezu comments on it aizawa will just be like "What are you gonna do, fire me? Who else would be willing to take care of those problems children?". If you accidentally mess something up he will just simply forgive you and tell you it's ok. Like once you and denki had a sleepover and forgot to do homework... Denki had to do 10 laps around the field and you got asked if you needed help on any of the questions. He definitely teaches you privately different skills that aren't related to your quirk.

Present Mic is like an extremely proud father. At any game or contest that he announces he scream out praise at every little thing you do. He's been asked about it before and his answer was just pure confusion. He doesn't understand that he might be focusing more on you than the actual thing he's supposed to be announcing, he just thinks that you're doing amazing and wants everyone to know. Mic is extremely handsy with you, of course in a fatherly type of way. He will often be seen with some type of contact with you. He will pat your back, ruffle your hair, hold your hand in crowded areas, ect. He will hangout with you and Aizawa in your dorm room as you all take turns picking a song to listen to. If you really like a certain band or singer Mic will get you both tickets to one of their concerts.

One point I think needs to be considered when it comes to OS attitude towards Buddie or Bucktommy or any other pairing Buck is part of (canon or fanon) is the make up of OS stans. I´d go as far as to say that the vast majority are Buddie stans first and foremost, I don´t see dedicated OS stans as much as I see them for Ryan and based on how people shit on him the second anything goes against Buddie, I think OS knows that too. To the people wondering why he never leaned into the Bucktommy ship the way he maybe did with Buddie or wonder why he never talks about it i´d say he most likely doesn´t bother because the Bucktommy fandom is not big enough to drown out the furious Buddie stans that would flood his IG if he did. And he seems to care about being liked more than the rest of the cast. There is also no whole media apparatus that gets to talk to him nearly every week and shows any real interest in Bucktommy or Tommy. Every journalist he talks to is a blatant Buddie stan. This too would probably change if Bucktommy would overtake Buddie in numbers and noise but this is not the case at the moment. So OS will say what they want to hear or at least never outright discourage them (i.e. his answer that Buck was not lying when he said he is not in love with Eddie. That this is his truth NOW but whether that will change he doesn´t know. There was literally no need to tack that second part to his answer but he did because he damn well knows that is what Andy Swift wanted to hear). Yes, there has been a change in his (social) medial behaviour in S8 and we will see how long it will last (he started the post and delet stuff up again). He also admitted that he was surprised by the amount of people that liked the Bucktommy storyline and I´m not surprised that he was, because he is literally locked in a Buddie echo chamber just like Tim and the rest of the cast seem to be at times.

Anyway I´m sorry I used a lot of words to basically say: I bet Oliver will treat BuckTommy differently if it gets as popular or more popular than Buddie

To be fair, I wasn't ever mad at Oliver for not sharing pics of Lou, or for not post about Bucktommy. I wish he would've, and I was disappointed when he never acknowledged it or Lou, but I fully get it. My issues with him were because of his interview post 806, but I've since chilled out lol.

At the end of the day, Oliver doesn't owe anything to anyone. Sure, we can all love the idea of him eventually posting about BT, but he doesn't have to, and honestly, I don't think it's worth it. In an ideal world, he'd be able to post, but in this one, I think the hate he'd get (the hate Lou would get as well, and even us) is not worth the five minutes of being happy about the post.

I would love to see a day where the journalists are more neutral, where Oliver is able to see just how much Bucktommy is loved, how much support they have. I'd love it if one day the consequences of posting something with Lou, or about Bucktommy, weren't as bad as they are now.

But, ultimately, Oliver is still human. And I don't think anyone of us can fully understand how mentally draining it can be to be in his position. So, as long as he doesn't go on to say more problematic stuff, I'm happy to not judge him for this.

Alright so when it comes to kink its worth asking what normal is. Is normal average? Because there's lots of kink activity thats not average or common, but that doesn't make it wrong to do with caution and consent.

Second consideration: is it safe? No. But a lot of kink play isn't safe, and neither is vanilla sex.

Choking as an example is a really risky kind of play. If you don't know how to position your hand you could easily damage the trachea, and you really dont want someone without oxygen for long because brain damage could occur. Someone should never be allowed to pass out from choking, thats an extreme risk.

There are safer ways of choking, like compressing the blood vessels in the side of the neck, but it's not risk free. The safest option is covering their mouth and nose but that's also not risk free.

Similarly, slapping in the face can cause injury to the neck if you dont brace their head, and it can bust an eardrum if your hand hits in the wrong place.

I think of most kink like bungee jumping or scuba diving. If you do it with knowledge and caution things shouldn't go wrong, but sometimes even with experience people doing everything right mistakes can happen. That's why you sign a consent waiver.

The approach I take is called RACK- Risk Aware Consensual Kink. It means you want to always be knowledgable about what risk could occur, you want to take all reasonable safety measures, and you want everyone involved to be freely consenting with full awareness of that risk.

In terms of knife or bloodplay specifically we're talking about something on the riskier side. Specifically you need to worry about blood-born illness and the possibility of infection from unclean equipment, you need to know exactly where and how deep to cut so you can avoid arteries or significant blood loss, and you need to be aware of the fact that just dropping or slipping with a knife could cause real injury.

Psychological Safety

Beyond that knives and being cut are things that cause real visceral reactions in people. Its really really hard to predict how you or someone else is going to react to that, and whenever you're doing kink of any kind you need to be ready for the possibility of a psychological response that means you have to stop and give or receive care.

That counts for both the cutter and the one being cut, sub and top drop are real things, so even if the scene itself goes well its really important to check in with each other and take care after it happens.

I personally have been hit with immense feelings of guilt after a scene that was fully consensual and went well. I had fun while i was doing it and so did my partner, but it's also a lot of adrenaline and when that wears off sometimes self-judgment creeps in.

As kinky people we're constantly fighting against societal perceptions of us as morally problematic, and sometimes that crashes in on you. Luckily I've had partners i could check in with, who would reassure me that they had fun and I'm not a monster.

The sub might also have feelings of guilt or self judgment after a scene, but also any cutting or blood loss carries the risk of shock, so it important to make sure you have something like juice on hand for them after, to make sure they can get their blood sugar up. It's also important to make sure cuts are properly cleaned and bandaged after.

In general you only want to do this with someone you trust deeply and feel comfortable speaking up to if something is wrong. Its extremely important to be able to communicate openly and honestly with anyone you're going to do kink with.

Physical Safety

In terms of physical safety, it's best to do this with someone you're fluid bonded to. Fluid bonding is mutual consent that your bodily fluids can be in contact with each other, often this means cum but it can mean blood too.

The reason this is important is because bodily fluids can carry STIs and other infections. You want to get fully tested (including hepatitis and HIV, which aren't always routinely tested for) before fluid bonding with someone. If you have multiple partners it's important to always get tested again between them. Always be aware of what you may be exposing yourself to, and know that even being as careful as possible doesn't completely eliminate risk.

If you or your partner is on blood thinners, has drank alcohol, or has something that causes excess bleeding or difficulty clotting its probably best to avoid this entirely.

Otherwise is also very important to be knowledgable and careful about where and how you're cutting. You want to be knowledgable and careful about your equipment too, because something like a little rust could cause tetanus.

I cant lie, it's a lot of information and you need to know it all. Knife-play is a fairly advanced kind of kink, and its one of those things that requires a lot of studying (in case you didnt know most kinksters are fucking nerds).

General advice

This is already in that resource but I'm going to talk about it anyway: if you're going to do this, start slow. You don't know how you or your partner will react, so start with something that you cant really cut with. If you cover someone's eyes, a cold butterknife can feel like its cutting without actually doing so. Its never safe to put a real knife to someone's throat so this is how I get around that. Knife play is a kind of fear play so creating an illusion works well. Ill show my partner a real knife, cover their eyes, and switch it out for something safer.

Even if you aren't doing that kind of thing though, start out with something relatively hard to cut with. You can find wooden or acrylic knives like these:

Which can break the skin with enough pressure but aren't as dangerous as something sharp and metal. You'll likely want to avoid actually cutting at first, try just running the knife over skin or scratching with it to get a sense of how it feels and how you react.

You also want to pick something small, light, and easy to control. The buck knife they use in debaser is what I would call an extremely risky option. It's heavy, large, and the curve of the blade makes it hard to control if you don't really know what you're doing.

If you get to the point of actually cutting its worth also going very slow and light, different peoples skin vary in thickness, some people slice more easily than others, different people bleed at different rates too, and you can always cut more but you can never cut less. It can also help to restrain the person being cut, minimizing any sudden movements that could knock a knife out of position.

Talking to you partner

So yeah, this part is important. Its always scary bringing up a new kink with a partner, and I think that goes double for stuff like this that might freak people out. Im lucky in having had some really kinky partners who were very into the idea, so it felt relatively safe to talk about.

It helps if you can explain why you want it, what you would get out of it. For me it's partly the fucked-upness and the fear reaction, as well as some knife and blood fetishism. But it's also the immense trust I'm being given when my partner lets me do this. Im not joking when I say it feels incredibly romantic to me, and I genuinely enjoy patching them up after.

The Problematic Romanizations of the Kitchen Scene

I've slept on making this post not one, but two nights. I'm still not sure if this is the best idea because I'm sure it'll ruffle some feathers. I really try to stay neutral when talking about shipping and I do feel like I still am. There is a lot of heat going on between people who ship Buddie and people who ship BuckTommy. While I like both of them, I obviously have a favorite and some people may think that bias is where I'm coming from. But I promise you, it's not.

These past few days it's making me very, very uncomfortable how some shippers are romanticizing the Buck and Eddie kitchen scene from Thursday night's episode.

Ryan has spoken a lot this season about how he finds it incredibly important that the relationship and vulnerability we see between Buck and Eddie is viewed as platonic. That treating their scenes together like there are romantic or sexual feelings between them could be damaging to the message they're trying to send. That he wants people to see that man can be vulnerable with each other without it meaning something more.

Obviously he started out talking about that coming out scene but in those interviews last week? I think he was also very clearly talking about the kitchen scene. That we saw Buck being there for Eddie and Eddie being able to be vulnerable and more open about what was happening when pushed by Buddie. That the conversation was something that needed to happen.

So seeing people immediately romanticize it goes against everything Ryan has been talking about for weeks. And I get it, ship what you want to ship. I like Buddie too. But seeing people making jokes about how Buck came in Eddie's back door or saying this clearly shows they have romantic feelings for each other? Less than a week after he took the conversation a step further, explained it was personal to him and how he had made an attempt on his own life?

It really, really bothers me. You've been explicitly told by the actors involved (and Tim) that isn't what is happening right now. There are so many other scenes you could talk about and romanticize. Maybe leave this one, that holds such personal meaning to Ryan, out of the shipping debate.

Buck, Eddie, Tommy are all fictional.

Ryan is a real person who has dealt with mental health issues.

We need to remember that.
