OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD I CAN’T BELIEVE IT’S BEEN SO LONG SINCE I’VE POSTED IT ABOUT IT EVEN THO I HAVE SO MUCH STUFF ABOUT MY SONIC/TMA AU

Okay to start out with, I’ve been calling the “Primal Fears au” and it started out as a working title but I don’t really have any better ideas and the tag I have on all of my posts about this tma au is #primal fears au (idk how to imbed a hyperlink into text but like if you go into the search thingy over my blog and just type that tag in you’ll see all my previous posts about it that are from OVER A YEAR AGO IT’S BEEN SO LONG 😭)

Okay uhhhhh idk how to organize this so just get ready for a shit ton of sketches and art lol

Okay I think those are all the presentable sketches I have but there are so so so many more ideas I have and it’s not going to help bc I’m feeling the annual urge to relisten to The Magnus Archives again especially bc the new season of The Magnus Protocol comes out soon.

There are like more blogs on here claiming to be run by Jews who support Hamas than there are Jews on the entire planet btw. When you are interacting with pro Hamas "Jews" you are interacting with either literal Iranian psyops or gentile Nazis who realized they could shield themselves from a huge chunk of criticism by just claiming to be Jews themselves. i cant quite remember where they mentioned this or this subject is even brought up at all but do the butlers have a previous master/s before us??

idk the way they behave towards us is like we're god sent from above LMAO and it seems like it's the first time someone treated them so normally and warm since yk everyone was against them just bcs they're devil butlers or others were indifferent towards them or only see them as a tool since they protect the city and all. also our relationship with the butlers is quite close, even intimate...... like have you seen the card stories and home voice lines??? 😹 i think some of them finally dropped the "i love you" to us (not complaining tho hehe)

if they do have previous masters..... well, it seems like they're not close to the other masters unlike us hmmmmm 🤔

Thank you for the ask! Yeah it's not even implied anymore, but just straight up confirmed that the butlers love Aruji (and yeah some of them have said "I love you" in their card stories 🥹). At this point, I'm just waiting for the butlers to get married to Aruji LMAOO

The short answer to your question is that while there has been no direct confirmation of a previous lord, the general consensus within the fandom is that there was a previous lord(s) due to what the story has revealed so far. Minor spoilers for Episode 1, Captive Doll, and 1st Anniversary -Butler's Prayers- below.

Some evidence: 

When Aruji meets Boschi for the first time in Episode 1 he says “so you’re the new lord” (something along those lines). “New” implying that there had been/were previous lords.

All of the butlers’ powers have a drawback and some of the butlers knew what their drawback was even though it was Aruji’s first time releasing their power. In Episode 1 after Aruji release Boschi’s power for the first time, Fennesz explains to Aruji that Boschi’s drawback is that it consumes a large amount of energy. If there was no previous lord how would Boschi, much less Fennesz, know what his drawback is?

In the Captive Doll event, it’s the first time Aruji releases Miyaji’s power, but Lato comments on how “it’s been awhile” since he last saw Miyaji in that form. This means that someone other than Aruji had to have released his powers in the past. 

There is other evidence pointing to the existence of previous lord(s), but I’ll leave it at this for now or this post will get very long…

I also just want to mention briefly other things that have been brought up within the fandom too:

If there was a previous lord(s) it’s kind of odd how no one ever mentions anything about them even if they didn’t have a good relationship with the butlers.

This was brought up on a jp fan’s blog post, but in the first anniversary event story it’s revealed that the butlers hold a ritual every year for all the butlers who have passed away, but there are no mentions of if there were any lords who had died. Again, assuming that the previous lord(s) was also releasing the butlers’ powers and helping them fight against the angels it seems odd not to do something for their deaths too even if they didn’t have a good relationship with the butlers. Who knows though maybe the butlers do something for them and Aruji isn’t aware of it or maybe the previous lord(s) were really awful people lol

every once in a while I will see this take in the bb fandom that like 'nothing has felt like Black Butler since X arc' (usually Noah's Arc Circus) which I find. very interesting. I think the implication is usually that nothing has felt as like serious or gritty or psychological thriller-y or devastating, or that somehow the vibe has gone weird. and like, this is not to diss anyone's interpretation. but also.

this is a story where one moment the main boy character is wearing a dress and being accosted by a pedophile nobleman and the next he's nearly been human trafficked. and then it turns out his aunt is jack the ripper and she dies at the hand of her grim reaper ally who decides to turn on her for being unable to kill her nephew. cue flashback to the extremely tragic life she's had and the complicated feelings she has about said nephew as a result, although ultimately her love for her sister, that she seems in him, means that she cannot slaughter him as she has so many others.

and then next arc, the culmination of an indian prince's coming of age where he's processing his loneliness and neglected upbringing comes during a contest where people are trying to obtain the royal warrant for curry. and the main character wins it by inventing the curry bun, a japanese dish, in Victorian England, after the elderly queen rides in on a horse wearing sunglasses and declares him a winner.

like. idk what to tell you, like yes the Circus Arc was very dark and all but are we really going to pretend that the boy band thing during the blue cult arc was out of left field??? for the person that did pride and prejudice and zombies on the titanic?? like this has always been the type of story this is wdym-
