We are only allowed to have one character or couple drama free at a time. And if we can’t come up with a plausible way to create discord or havoc, we’ll just do some stupid shit instead!

Spend several seasons showing the deep strong bond between Eddie and Christopher. Gavin’s family moves? Just make it something dumb..but fast! I know let’s have him get mad at his dad and ask to move in with his grandparents!! Never mind he’d never do that!

The amount of psychological trauma they have inflicted on Maddie. The near death experiences of Chimney. Jesus. Just what tf?

Hmmm. Karen and Hen..the fans would revolt if we broke them up. So let’s go after their kids!! And we can’t make it about them being gay! Let’s create this over the top villain Councilwoman Ortiz. Who’s the mother of that drunk coked up dude from the accident. Only we absolutely cannot have Hen or anyone defend what happened or shut that shit down by saying “Your son was a fucking menace and maybe if you hadn’t kept covering for him he would have gotten some fucking help and not caused an accident.” Also do not mention Hen was cleared of all wrong doing. So hey! Let’s make Buck bisexual. And tell everyone we are getting him off the hamster wheel (because really, we’ve given him the emotional depth of a teaspoon for a while now)..And his love interest/boyfriend should be Tommy Kinard, who used to work at the 118, and we will invest time to give him a compelling backstory, and lay a ton of Easter eggs showing how richly we can mine this pairing and these characters.

And make them HAPPY for several episodes. Blissfully in love. And then totally out of the blue, let’s break them up. But the reason has to be complete bullshit, totally against character out of left field BULLSHIT. Like they should start out the episode great and about 80 percent in..wait! Let’s also make him the SAME Tommy Abbie from season one was engaged to before she started banging Buck! And then let’s make Tommy who is so into Buck it’s palpable, dump him because he’s afraid of getting his heart broken! Even though it’s one of the most tired, overdone, stupid tropes ever!!

Yeah. I don’t know WTF is going on in the writers room I would swear it’s like there’s this talented group of writers who start stories, and then they go out in Wilshire Blvd and ask some random person on the street to write the ending, but they have to do it, right there in the next 20 minutes.

in fact, if someone has a known sensitivity to naproxen, doctors may recommend using a different NSAID like ibuprofen

Bc listen, I read a post talking abt how the writers probably won’t give both of them a really flushed out Queer Realization Arc bc it would be redundant, which like, okay sure, yes, I can see why you wouldn’t want to have two main, male characters going through the exact same thing, so sure, whatever, BUT -

I feel like, out of Buddie, Eddie is going to be the one that really struggles with coming to terms with his sexuality.

Eddie, who had to be The Man Of The House at 10 years old. Eddie, who grew up in the Deep South. Eddie, whose family is Catholic. Eddie, who already had a strained relationship with his judgmental parents. Eddie, who had a WIFE. Eddie, who says that what he had with Shannon was magic & compares every relationship he had to her. Eddie, who was in the military, which is infamous for DADT. Eddie, whose aunt constantly pushes him at random women because he needs to not be alone. Eddie, who canonically suffers from comp-het, saying that dating women feels like putting on a performance, not that he understands why. Eddie, who dated Ana & was planning on staying with her, even though he was unhappy, for his son.

I think Buck would be way chiller with realizing he’s queer - if he doesn’t already know, which is my fav head-cannon - & I feel like he wouldn’t struggle as much bc it’s Eddie, & Eddie is his best friend, and gender wouldn’t play as big a part for him as I think it would for Eddie.

I would love for them both to have an arc where they worked through their expectations when it comes to relationships & realize that they’re queer, but idk man, I feel like Eddie is going to be the one to really struggle & he deserves to really have that flushed out.

have we thought to consider that knowing how crazy this show is that Buck could both be shot and in a car accident like again very much could be that Buck is driving on the way to Maddie’s on a day off and he still doesn’t know the news that Maddie is pregnant and this would be another parallel of Albert getting into that car crash while heading over to the hospital when Maddie is giving birth to Jee and so it could be where there’s a shoot out happening and one of the tires goes flat and the car flips and it’s Eddie on call when the team responds trying his hardest to save him like they are two different situations where Eddie was not in control of the situation going on like when the team responds to the call where Shannon dies he didn’t know it was her and same thing when he was shot like it was him going with Buck off duty to save the life of a kid so when this all happens to Buck he feels the need to take control of the situation and try his hardest avoid another 3 minutes and 17 seconds from happening and that’s why we keep getting reminded that Eddie was an Army Medic

Is it crazy that throughout all these seasons, all these years, I’ve never really thought about how joyful Eddie and Buck getting together romantically could be? We’ve seen them go through so much trauma, so many insecurities, and mental health struggles, that it’s colored the way I pictured them falling together officially. And not like them starting as a couple would be a negative part of their arcs, or traumatic, not anything like that. Just, the show’s direction is pointing at them going canon as being a purely happy event. Eddie is discovering who he is, more about what he desires to be happy with himself and his life. Buck was just told by the narrative that he is primed for his “last” love interest, and he now has the freedom to go out and discover more about his bisexuality without a partner to be loyal to. They’re both on these journeys that, according to the show, are going to lead them to being the most joyful we’ve ever seen them. And the rest of the narrative is telling us that their joy is going to stem from finding a home in their romantic relationship. There’s never a perfect way for a ship to get together when they’ve been a slowburn for years, but this is the gentlest, most loving, happiest way the show could be going about it. Yes, Buck and Eddie make each other happy. Yes, they are each other’s Person, and are always there for each other. Yes, they’ve been through so many ups and downs, but now they’re going to be together, and it’s good. I’m sure there will be more traumas in their future, but where they left off on 8x06, they are perfectly positioned to find joy in each other, and I think that is beautiful.

I think the deleted scene is simply showing you how much Buck is cared for by the people he chose to be in his life, and from someone who craved that care and attention for so long I just think that's neat that Buck has so many people now that do, and idk I'm just happy for him
